I originally came here because something on the menu completely caught my attention: crunchy queso birria tacos. Just reading that made it sound like the perfect post gym breakfast, so my friend and I decided to check it out after seeing the good reviews. When we walked in it was actually pretty calm, just one other couple ahead of us, and the waitress greeted us right away and told us to sit wherever we liked. She was incredibly kind and welcoming the entire time even though I unfortunately didn't catch her name. One of the first things I noticed walking in was the atmosphere. They have this beautiful privacy border around the restaurant that makes the space feel cozy and tucked away from the outside world, and right near the entrance there's a gorgeous water fountain that really sets the tone. It gives the whole place a peaceful, relaxing vibe before you even look at the menu. They also offer a buffet for around $28 which surprised me because the menu itself already has so many options. I thought about it for a moment but I had just come from the gym and didn't want to overdo it, so we stuck with ordering off the menu. Sometimes when restaurants have huge menus you worry about freshness, but that thought disappeared the moment the food arrived. We started with chips and salsa which were already fantastic, and then my order came out: those crunchy queso birria tacos that originally brought me in. Oh my gosh. Absolutely phenomenal. Birria tacos are one of those things that can go wrong really fast if they aren't fresh, but these were done perfectly. The meat was incredibly soft and flavorful, the tacos were packed generously, and everything tasted like it had just been made. I was honestly surprised by how filling the plate was. It also came with beans and rice, so the portion for the price felt like an incredible deal. My friend ordered a veggie omelette with added carne asada and was just as impressed, and we both loved the horchata. Even though it was a quiet Sunday morning with just a couple of tables, everything about the experience felt special. The service was warm and attentive, the food was genuinely impressive, and parking was a breeze. I also noticed they have a live music setup which makes me curious to come back and see the place when it's more lively. What really surprised me most is that this place isn't packed with locals. The value alone is wild. You could probably spend more at fast food and walk away way less satisfied. I drove here from West Covina and it was absolutely worth it. This spot feels like a hidden gem and I really hope more people discover it because they're doing something special here. Five stars all the way. read more

I went for the veggie omelet, asked for a side of carne asada (because, why not?), and it came with rice and beans. Let me just say, it was a flavor fiesta in every bite. The price was totally reasonable, no shock to the wallet and when I popped into the restroom, it was sparkling clean. And let's be real, a clean restroom is like a secret handshake that says, "We care about the details." I'm giving this place a solid five stars because it's a total gem for the neighborhood. Wow this place is new and very good. Super fresh. Right away just the chips alone are amazing. They are made fresh and they're thick AF. I like the density of them a lot. Provides a nice crispy crunch. I did think to myself, "hmm the food is taking a while to come out" but once you eat it, you'll know exactly why it took some time for it to come out. Literally everything made here seems to be made fresh to order. All of the food was really good! I got the asada plate which comes with rice, asada, onions, green bell peppers, beans and freshly made tortillas. I was super impressed with their tortillas because they aren't like any other tortillas I've had before which are all like store bought and shit. Their horchata was very cinnamony! Decided to try out this new business that opened recently around me and everything was stellar. I walked past them once and they weren't very busy and decided to look them up and saw only good reviews. The chips I can tell are made in house and the salsa is so spicy but yummy. The soup has a spicy ish seafood taste but I really liked it too. Torta was good with good portions and came with avocado! Very lovely. Tortillas were thick (thicker than the normal ones you buy at the grocery store). That said, lunch was almost 20 bucks (18.00) for two pieces of chicken and sides. Food is good but it can be a tad pricey. Service was good. Very friendly. Answered all my questions in a kind manner. No complaints. Ambience: Beach themed inside. Outside looks a bit normal. Absolutely amazing mariscos spot! From the moment we walked in, the customer service was outstanding: friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The chips and salsa were perfect, nice and crunchy with a good level of spice. The music was also my fav-chill Spanish music that made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The aguas frescas were incredibly refreshing and delicious. We ordered the aguachiles, filete a la diabla, taco de gobernador, and a tostada de pulpo, and every single dish was packed with flavor! My mom's favorite was definitely the filete a la diabla, the spiciness was spot on hehe A huge plus is that the tortillas are handmade, which really takes everything to the next level. This place was no disappointment for our first time. Everything was delicious and flavorful. It tasted like real authentic Mexican food. Fresh mango , avocado , shrimp with finely diced onions , tomato, cilantro . Very very delicious. Followed that up with a few tacos , Gobernador shrimp taco Ensenada style fish taco and the Queso Birria taco . All had handmade tortillas, fresh veggies and were loaded with fish , shrimp and beef . Beautifully decorated, lovely servers, and fantastic food. I had their ceviche which came with cucumber which was so much more refreshing than crackers or chips that I usually eat ceviche with and there was plenty to take home. My brother had a shrimp cocktail that came with squid arms that was phenomenal, both sweet and savory, and we shared our plates with each other because we couldn't get enough of both dishes. It was also so cool to hear about how the owner made a lot of the decor himself, like as the tables, chairs, and floors, and his daughters painted the murals on the walls and help out as servers and hostesses.
