They gave me a van with a who stain on the floor and the car was not washed. On top of that I guess they knew it was a black man renting the car and the screen of the car said "Welcome P Diddy" Also the tires where no good on the Van. We had to pay to get one of the tires fixed and they didn't want to refund money. Also when I'm telling the girl and the register she has a serious attitude and while I'm talking to her she's clicking the phone on people who's calling while management was sitting in his chair not chiming in on anything she was saying. Then I guess because we are black she left and came back with a couple of guys to back her and her attitude up that I wasn't entertaining at all. staff did not seem very friendly. the car they came me was awful it was a mid size SUV the back up camera did not work. we had problems with the usb outlets that didn't seem to work the car had a nasty faint smell. I never could figure out what it was. the car had a clicking sound coming from the engine. I've rented several times from different enterprises but this particular office was the worst for me. I rented a car for five days. I was instructed to place the key in the drop box on Saturday since the fifth day fell on a Saturday, and I did just that. After a few days, I received the bill, which indicated that they had also charged me for Sunday. I contacted the store on three separate occasions, and each time, I was assured that they would investigate the security camera and get back to me. However, no one ever did. After I called headquarters, the store manager called me to say I should have dropped it off between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., when the store was open! As they said, their security camera would let them know when the car was returned. Don't believe the salesperson. Even though verbal agreements are legally binding, it is important to review the fine print. read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Awesome place! - Car Rental Near Me - Arlington Heights, Illinois

I can usually keep cool in stressful situations, but this had me about ready to pull my hair out. We got everything fixed in the end by the man who was working there that day, but the disorganization that was caused by the original people we spoke with here was ridiculous and completely avoidable. We needed two 15-person passenger vans for Ragnar Relay 2012 up to Madison, WI and back. Both our team leader, Mary T, and our teammate who made the final reservation called this location multiple times before the day of our trip to make sure everything was figured out and in order. Our understanding (and them confirming) was that we would have two vans with multiple registered, possible drivers and our teammate, my boyfriend and myself could come pick them up and simply provide our IDs and photocopies of the other teammates' IDs. The first problem was that they questioned the photocopies and said we needed four separate IDs (they found a way to fix that). The second problem was that we were not informed that we could not use debit cards to secure the rental. It had to be a credit card. My debit card is a Visa check card that works as a credit card and is also linked to my checking account. They would not accept that and had not mentioned only credit cards would work, so we had to charge both vans on our teammate's card (which caused another problem to arise that they had to fix). We were also informed on the spot that we'd have to pay an additional driver fee for each person we registered (another fact that hadn't been brought up previously, but they found a way around). And finally, they are closed Sundays, so you'll have to rush your rental back on Saturday or pay for another day by returning Sunday (dropping off keys in the drop box) or waiting until Monday. Something that should have been a quick in-and-out rental pick-up ended up taking about an hour. I'm very grateful to the man who was registering us, because he did his best to help us out. It was just unfortunate that we had to deal with all of this at the beginning of what should have been a very enjoyable experience. I hope whoever answers the questions for people calling in to rent will be more forthcoming with what the entire process entails. I normally love Enterprise, so I will probably use them again. I'll just be more cautious in the future. read more

We reserved a car through Costco Travel Services to be picked up at noon on Saturday. I arrived about an hour late (my ride was late). They had ZERO cars. The guy behind the counter said he had no cars. They had numerous ways to contact me and yet no one told me about the situation or that they were going to give away my reserved car. The Enterprise guy was kinda rude and disinterested. He said he could not help me. He obviously did not care to help me. (BTW my husband rented a car through this location for 2-1/2 years straight for his business!). I asked if he could call around and find me a car. He reluctantly called 1 other location which had no cars. I went home (fuming!) and called the next nearest Enterprise location in Rolling Meadows. They had a car so I went there. I called Enterprise after an accident that occurred. I dealt with Phil who was amazing in his customer service, his courtesy and communications. I just bought a brand new 2018 Equinox in October 2017 and had an accident in January. I went to Enterprise for a rental. My insurance company only paid for a certain amount per day, but Phil knew I was skeptical in a car rather than an SUV since the accident was pretty bad. He lent me an SUV which would have been more per day. They kept in touch frequently because my car took longer to repair than originally thought. If you need a car rental without any hassle and need a trustworthy company to rent from, Enterprise in Arlington Heights on Arlington Heights Road is the place to go. I have to say I had a wonderful experience. I realized on a Saturday morning I needed to get a rental car because I was getting car repairs done and I was going to be out of a car for at least 4 days. I went online, found the location closest to the station I was getting my repairs, reserved a car (mind you I only gave 4 hours notice) and went to pick up my car. They were quite busy however, Emily took care of me and my son and we were on our way. The car was really clean and nice and returned the car 4 days later with no problems and no hassle. I was even asked by the young man behind the counter if I needed a ride to get my car! I can say it was quite pleasurable working with this location. Someone rear-ended me a month ago and I had to take my car in to be repaired. My insurance company went through Enterprise to get me a rental car during this time. From the moment I started with Enterprise, the staff was nothing but pleasant and helpful. The people on the phone were able to set up a reservation and find me a nice car that fit into the allotment I had from my insurance company. The day of my reservation, Julie came to pick me up at my dealership's body shop and brought me to Enterprise to pick up my car. The ride was pleasant, and Julie asked me about my day, etc. When we got to Enterprise, it was fast, easy, and the car she gave me was beautiful. Julie went over everything I needed to know thoroughly and I could tell they weren't trying to scam me for extra money. After my car was done four days later, I dropped the car off at Enterprise and they drove me back to my dealership. Again - very pleasant people to talk with. You can tell the company takes pride in hiring good people to work there. I would recommend Enterprise to anybody! Especially the location on Arlington Heights Rd. This location sold me a car that had the check engine light turn on 2 days later. When I called to let them know, they insisted that I bring the car back in to trade it out. So, I had to go out of my way and miss an appointment to get the car in before anything happened and I ended up stranded somewhere. I traded in the car and went on my way. When I returned the second car I brought up how I feel there should be a credit to my bill for providing a faulty car. The teller stated that the check engine light came on because of the gas cap not being put back on correctly which would point it back to me. But, I only touched the gas cap when I brought the car back 2 days after the check engine light turned on. So, obviously the check engine light was not my fault but they tried to blame it on me so that they were not at fault. I stated this to the teller and he became upset and offended. "I did not give you a faulty car." Out of confusion as to how I ended up being the bad guy in this situation, I left after paying my bill in full. A terrible customer experience with absolutely no appreciation for the customer's needs. Very unprofessional. Enterprise has one responsibility, and that is to provide a functional car based on my needs. And they did not do that. Nor did they feel any remorse for not doing so. I will not be renting from this Enterprise again. And if you appreciate your time and customer experience when paying for a service, I recommend that you choose another location as well. We have used this Enterprise office regularly for over 20 years at least; since they were located on Palatine Road (many times when our car was at Roto for service )and they have always been great. The current manager, Collin, follows this tradition of excellent results. Last weekend when we needed a car with a bit extra room and flexible return location, Collin and crew were able to "stretch" an intermediate to fit our need and accommodated our return location. He showed concern for our situation and graciously gave us the result we needed in a very professional way. While one review was concerned about dealing with new college graduates, we have found them professional, consistently accommodating and understanding. Again,this follows years of excellent service on other rentals under previous managers such as Emily. From our experience, they truly are and always have been, there to help the customer and make you feel they truly care. You are not just an impersonal body that has to be dealt wit.h. I was about to drop my car off at a body shop so I called them to see if they had any cars available for me. I thought I was calling this specific location but for some reason it took me to the 1800 number which I assume is their home office? Anyway, they looked them up and said that they did have cars available for me. So within an hour I dropped my car off and called them to see if they could come pick me up (not even a mile away). The guy was so rude! Said they didn't have any cars available and basically it didn't matter what their home office told me. My car was already at the body shop and I was pretty much just standing outside the shop without a car... that didn't seem to concern them. At least they could've be nice about in instead of being rude. I've rented a car from there a couple of times. Not coming back there anymore that's for sure. Called their other branch. Great place to rent, until there's a problem. Enterprise seems like a corporate entity but in fact it's a pseudo-franchisee relationship. As soon as there's a problem the local branch claims corporate policy blah blah blah and when you call corporate they say the local branch is largely independent with decisions and charges. In other words there's no traction. I would so much go with hertz or national car rental. On top of all that when trying to talk with the local guy, Jonathan, he wasn't interested in listening to anything I had to say about the issue, was not apologetic in anyway saying something like sorry this happened but blah blah blah, he was taking an authoritative position of not listening by telling me how it's going to be and talking over me on top of it. After he talked over me for the third time in a row I told him to shut up. I was extremely frustrated to have an employee of a company I've done thousands and thousands of dollars of business with talk over me and not listen. His response was I don't know who you think you're talking to but you never tell ME to shut up which means he still doesn't get how he should approach customers by trying to listen and understand rather than just telling them what they WILL do. read more

I asked about returning the car after hours on Saturday and was told it wasn't a problem - I could drop the keys in the after hours key drop box no problem. The agent NEVER told me I would also be charged for Sunday if I did this. I called them to ask for a refund for the Sunday charge and was basically told to bad. I'm an Enterprise member and rent cars often. This is the first issue I've had with any Enterprise location. Terrible customer service and beware they are not forthcoming with potential charges. read more
