What is the purpose of making arraignment prior to arriving ? I don't understand this was a waste of my time. This is the second time I have dealt with this company and now I know why. Worst experience ever and could've gotten into an accident bc the vehicle had mechanical issues. The service has been horrible! I made a reservation for a 7 passenger mini-van unlimited miles for the weekend n was given a suv that would not start the engine a few different times during the 1st day of usage. The battery light n a orange light came on n engine would not start. Each time it happened, I called Enterprise Roadside n no one showed up. I had to use someone within our party's roadside assistance 2 different times. We were terrified of being stranded n had to cancel our entire weekend trip and head home early. Not to mention having to arrange transport for other ppl to be picked up after we got stranded the 2nd time. We then try to drive home after AAA came by to jump the vehicle again. Thankfully we made it home safely on Sat and on the 2nd day of the rental on Sunday, I tried to start the vehicle so I can refill the gas in preparation to return the vehicle and again it would not start. I couldn't use the vehicle on Sunday at all. I did not drive the vehicle on that day and waited to call the office on Monday. Per talking w the supervisor, I was told to call enterprise roadside assistance again so they can send someone to tow the vehicle. Did that and 2 hours later, another no show. I had to keep calling this branch to get a hold of someone. Even though I was told someone would call me back but they never did. Finally, someone calls me back and told me they can call a local towing co to tow the vehicle n I'd not be charged for not being able to refuel the vehicle. I waited for another phone call from the branch n did not receive a call after the vehicle was tow back to their office. I called again n got confirmation that they have the vehicle n there were no damage to the vehicle n was told I may have to possibly pay for half of the rental 1 day fee n not the entire amount. The vehicle's mechanical issues caused our whole weekend trip to be ruined. And we could've gotten stranded several times bc sometimes the vehicle would start n then it would not. And I still had to pay for the rental fee? Someone still need to compensate for having us use the roadside assistance 2 diff times bc Enterprise Roadside never came on both occasions. I was told the manager of the branch would be back next week in order for me to discuss not being charged and yet when I checked my credit card I was charged more than the amount of the rental. One of my friend that went w us said she'd blast them on her social media and she has over 20k followers. I have over 3k but I'm waiting to hear back from the manager before I go on social media to complain. read more

I've been renting through them no problems. I got into a car accident. I had their insurance where if it's my fault or the other persons fault it's COVERED!!!! They said they couldn't rent to me unless I had $1000 to put down. I was told if anything happens I would be able to get another vehicle. I did what I was supposed to do and they told me that I would not be able to get another vehicle until they're done with their investigation which takes months. I asked him if I would be getting my money back that I paid for another week for and they said that until they get the car back they wouldn't be able to do that will they got their car back now they're just waiting for pictures from the tow yard when they have the car I do not recommend Enterprise SCAMMERS I WILL BE GETTING A LAWYER!! read more

Only me & maylinn came in contact with the rental and i set my wallet down and when she moved the car for me my wallet magically disappeared! Supervisor Elsie did absolutely nothing! Doesn't deserve even 1 star. Worse service EVER! Employees incompetent at the Brundage Lane, Bakersfield, CA, office. They couldn't even get my CORRECT mailing address, after I gave it to them numerous times, both in writing and verbally. Even had them repeat it for me before I left the premises, making it very clear that I would not get mail if sent to my physical address. And what happens? They STILL sent mail to physical address, which I never received because it was returned. Piss-poor service at best! Also was accused of damage to the vehicle I DID NOT cause. If you make the bad decision of renting from Enterprise, make sure you spend an hour inspecting every piece of the vehicle -- under, over, in front, in back, inside, and outside and take photos. Rented in the sum of $2,400 for less than 2 months since our truck was in the auto body shop! The very first car we rented, they took photos of all scratches, before we left then on the last car i returned because the side mirror was messed up, they claimed we caused it! I get a bill for over $300 bucks what a joke! They send me some pictures of a torn off side mirror, no way we returned it that way!!! Im so mad! If u have to rent from them make sure you take your own pictures and make them take them too!! Scam!!!scam!!!preying on us in a vulnerable situation!!! Note to them I am not paying you have a big fight on your hands liars!!! update...Enterprise called me back and told me they didn't have enough evidence to continue with claim! I recently rented a car from the Brundage location and my experience was like several others that have left reviews on the Enterprises in Bakersfield. The car that I had an advanced reservation for was not there. I waited for a half-hour while they scrambled to get another car ready. They gave me a car with 35k miles on it and told me not to worry about the numerous scratches and dings as they consider that part of the normal wear and tear. I rented the car for a week but after a couple days they called and requested that I bring the car back in to exchange it as they rented me a "pre-sold" car. I explained I was in Utah and they could come to my location and swap out the car but they decline. Instead, they requested that I return it as soon as possible. My return time was to be on a Tuesday morning but I offered to return it either late Sunday evening or early Monday morning. They informed that they wouldn't be opened at those hours, but I could leave it outside the gate and leave the keys in the drop box, which I did. Two weeks later I get a notice informing me of damage to the car. The car was returned in the exact same condition as when I rented it. I am furious with their allegations and why no one in the office had the decency to even call me to discuss and visual review these alleged damages. Based on other reviewers with the same issues, I view them as having fraudulent business practices. read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! The car I booked was not available and Enterprises resolution was to upgrade my car to a full size. But, I would have to pay extra. When booking online I chose Enterprise because of their falsely advertised price and falsely advertised availability. Clearly a bait and switch from the start. We sat in the "upgraded car" which smelled like an old dirty ash trey. I questioned the odor which was making me sick and was offered a weekly discount of $10... It gets better. I asked the sales rep the total amount my credit card would be charged so I could transfer that specific amount into that account I rarely use. The poorly dressed unprofessional sales rep blatantly lied and stated the total amount charged would be $211, he then proceeded to run my card for $411. Which of course was declined because I transferred the specific amount he told me it would be. He then shamelessly asked for another one of my credit cards to which I replied I could easily transfer more money into that account to cover the deposit he had lied about. He then stated they could not run the card for another 24 hrs. I then requested the manager which was in the process of explaining to another old and disabled woman that she would be charged an additional $120 to vacuum her return. When I explained the situation to the manager her response was "he is a very good salesman and says exactly what he is trained to say, in fact he's so good he's recently received a promotion." She then asked for another one of my credit cards. I told her no. She followed the denied credit card request up by asking "do you even have a job?" Really!!!???? Really!? I asked what the purpose of that question was and her response was "these are questions we have to ask." I've rented dozens of cars from Enterprise in the past and have never once been asked "do you even have a job." Save the head ache and GO TO HERTZ. They had great customer service and got me into the exact car I requested at the exact price I was quoted. read more

I wish I can give this place ZERO STAR. My vehicle was broke down and I rented a vehicle from them for 9 days through my insurance. On the first day when I was there Bailey and Megan helped me and they were so nice. The day I returned the vehicle there was another young lady at the counter and she nicely offered drop off ride which I gladly accepted. Long story short, she put me in a car with one of his company driver. Before moving the driver asked for the street address our destination and he fed it to his navigation. After driving a few miles he asked if I told the lady where I am going to. She never asked, I replied. As soon as he heard that he called someone and immediately turned around the car and said he can't take me to my destination because it's beyond their service limit. He wanted to drop me off there where he picked me up but decided to get out of the car at the spot where we were and called Uber. Unprofessional attitude, lake of business ethics, no curtesy and respect to the customers. read more

My brother lives in northern California and when I'd go up there to visit, I'd take Amtrak. A round trip ticket cost me around $400 and I was stuck for transportation when I got there. For Christmas I decided to rent a car to make the trip. Because it was a holiday I wanted to be sure that a car would be available to me so I went online with Enterprise and rented a car, The day I picked up my rental, the sales associate gave me my choice of available vehicles and after I chose my ride, she followed me home so that I could leave my car there. The car I chose was mid-sized, a Hyundai, and pleasantly, the car was new, only 1600 miles. I returned the car a week later. The car got 30 miles to the gallon or better, and after a thousand miles round trip my total bill was less than the Amtrak ticket, plus I received another ride home. I couldn't be more pleased and I will definitely return to Enterprise as my rental car company of choice. read more
