Went to this Enterprise due to better reviews on Google, but I regret it. They didn't have any standard cars, so I was downgraded to a smaller car. The discount for the smaller car was removed upon returning the car. During the trip, the car had a terrible plastic offgassing inside that I could taste and was forced to keep the windows down in 95 degree weather. The car didn't have a single drop of windshield wiper fluid, so I was forced to go to a rural walmart on my trip to fill it up. It was also full of scratches on just a 5000 mi odometer. They really don't take care of their vehicles. Just a really a poor experience after paying $450+ for a 6 day trip. read more

I had a problem with this location helping to resolve an issue that they were at fault for. Having rented a car in Dorchester, I was told that I could return after hours in South Boston. Because of a snow storm (Feb/Mar time frame), I did return to S Boston. I called this location (and Dorchester) to inform them but this location lost track of the car and ultimately charged me for a full week instead of three days. After months of back and forth with the branch, the regional group, Twitter support, I was unable to get the refund I was promised. Will not rent from an Enterprise franchise again due to the lack of service and ownership of the problem. read more

I was so excited to use Enterprise again this week after a very amazing experience at LAX and Palm Springs. It's so Important to keep your brand consistent across different geos. The car was dirty and the gas wasn't completely full, but in Palm Springs they upgraded me to an SUV and dropped me off at my AirBnB!! I picked up the car here in Boston at 521pm and turned it in at 6pm the next day due to traffic. I called ahead to let them know. I was charged for a full day and hour. That's poor customer service. There was also a convention center surcharge which I don't know what that's for. It wasn't explained to me. For 1/5 of the cost, my CA enterprise experience was far, far better than this one. read more

I've used Enterprise rentals a few times and am always happy with the service. This particular location had very short hours during the weekend of 1pm. A quick call to confirm this was efficient and courteous and they recommended that I can pick up the keys first and grab the car later if I wanted to. It's Boston, parking can be tricky so this was a nice alternative especially since I was walking distance from my friend's apartment. Vehicle key dropbox can be used to return during the off hours which I also utilized. Parked car in the lot late at night and then received a call the next day to confirm they received the car and welcomed any comments on the vehicle, service, etc. Or I should say, I pahhked the cahh in the yahhd.. All in all, easy, fast and a great rate with my corporate discount, better priced than what I could find online. read more

This past week, I messed up my rental start data and by the time I realized it, all rental cars at Boston Logan were gone for my dates. The closest car was the Enterprise at the 230 Dorchester Ave location. So, we bit the bullet and took a Lyft to the location. The service both getting our vehicle and returning it was amazing. Only one young lady working, but she was efficient, friendly and helpful. It doesn't look like they have a ton of cars, so it is probably rare to have to wait here. She noticed that the gas was at only a quarter of a tank (we were going to prepay to remove stress when having to get back to the airport), so she said she would mark it as if we picked it up empty and told us to return it empty. She had a large vehicle, which in the city isn't popular, so she asked if we would be willing to take it for no extra cost. It was a great upgrade for our long road trip that we had planned. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again, even though it isn't at the airport. I really wish I could remember her name because she took what could have been a very frustrating start to our vacation and had us all smiling and saying, wow, what a great experience. read more

WHAT AN AWFUL PLACE! DO NOT GO HERE. If I could give zero stars, I would. The management is rude, swearing at people on the road to get out of the way for their cars (Where can you go in traffic? Why are you in such a rush?) Safety is everything and they couldn't care less about it. There was one particular worker (presumably also management) who was aggressive to a point where I felt uncomfortable and unsafe. After being in an accident all you want is kind, polite, SAFE service. My whole experience was extremely poor... Dirty car, rude service, awful management, incredibly incompetent work force. I love enterprise as a company, so I hope something is done about this location. This has put me off using enterprise in the future. Why would you hire employees that make your customers uncomfortable and uncared for? I don't care who you are, you don't treat people with such disrespect. I'm disgusted. read more

Had a great experience. Staff was friendly and I was given an upgrade on my car due to the one I requested being out (which was no problem, the car I received was much nicer than the one I reserved). I pass this place on my way to school every day, so when it came time to rent a car for the day, this was much more convenient than going to the airport or signing up for ZipCar membership. The problem I encountered was that I had to be someplace 2 hours away at 11a.m., and they open at 9a.m. One of the staff members saw me pacing in the driveway at 8:50 and led me inside. The staff were really friendly and helpful - they hurried me through the paperwork, upgraded the car, and even tried to waive a fee I hadn't been told about. This was accomplished all before they were supposed to open. I left the parking lot by 9am and got to my destination on time. The next day, they called to make sure everything with the rental was "up to my standards." What large corporation provides such customer service? Also, when I checked my credit card status, that unexpected fee hadn't been applied after all. read more

Horrible, if I could give no stars I would. Either a company employee damaged the car before giving it to us or a previous customer did. Whichever it was, doesn't matter, because then Enterprise proceeded to blame us for the damage after we returned the car. We assumed that the damage on the front bumper had already been accounted for when we picked up the car, however apparently they didn't even look the car over for damage before giving it to us. I strongly suggest going to a different company for a rental because obviously professionalism is not a part of their policy and very little effort is given by the associates. It is a BASIC step to look over your company vehicle before leasing it out to another customer. I don't understand where their employees get off blaming a customer for damage that already existed when the car was rented. Make sure you show your representative all of the little scratches and bumps on your car before you take it off the lot. Don't make the same mistake we did, thinking that an associate would actually do their job. read more

I use enterprise all the time, and this location was great. Skip the lines at the airport, and take the silver and red lines right to Broadway, and it's a 3 min walk. Same cars for less than half the cost of airport rentals. Check in and the returns were super smooth and quick. Frank, the assistant manager, was very helpful and got me out of there quick so I could catch my flight. read more

Picked me up to get the rental and offered to give me a lift when I returned it. Was able to rent a minivan that was a great replacement for my work truck. i used to use enterprise all the time and then i got lured away by the internet"game" of shopping prices. Recently i was taking a cruise from black falcon terminal in south boston and was flying in on an all nighter from the west coast. now what do i do with our luggage and us for 4 hours. i called around looking for an answer and found it in Greg Cummings and his amazing team at enterprise. I genuinely got the feeling that i was more important to them as a person, then as a one time rental in a far away place. I was looking to rent a car even if just to store my luggage in. after talking to Greg we arranged a car for our return day since we had 10 hours to tour Boston before flying home at a rate below the internet posting. And he agreed to store my luggage free while my husband and i toured around the local area the morning of our departure. When we arrived, Greg introduced us to his team of employees , with Mike even leaving his desk to come out to greet us. I don't think i have ever had such great service, even in my home town where repeat business would be a possibility. Greg made me a fan of enterprise by telling me all the advantages of using this company. When i reserved the car he didn't need a credit card number, so i asked for a confirmation number and he said, Francie, we have your name. that's how we register our clients. a name and a phone number. so much nicer then being a ten digit number i can never remember . I use Enterprise in Southie very frequently for business and have had the best experience with this one particular location. They are so friendly and so accomodating- they truly make me feel like I am their ONLY customer which I know isn't true since they are alwasy so busy! They truly go above and beyond to try and remember my small requests. I even returned a car 45 minutes after hours and two of the employees were just locking up and they offered to drive me home! I use enterprise every time I travel and have always had above average service. I try to use it in my hometown and go figure - ITS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I had reserved a car in advance and went to pick it up this morning.. After waiting 45 minutes to be helped I was offered a free upgrade to a GMC SUV as a "courtesy" when I declined their offer they said I would have to wait AGAIN for a sedan to be cleaned.. Didn't I reserve a sedan in advance? Why do I have to wait again. Nice try with the "courtesy" upgrade. After waiting another 20 minutes I'm offered a filthy and I mean FILTHY jeep compass (which still isn't a sedan) and to top it off, the gas tank was empty. He offered to go fill it up, which means I would have to wait AGAIN - after being there for over an hour and still not having what was promised - I cancelled the rental and called an uber. Nobody apologized for wasting my time or being completely inefficient. Get your shit together. People have places to go and they are relying on you. Uber isn't only going to take down the taxi cab drivers... There is a reason why they are so successful. read more

I'm a big fan of Zip Car, but for obvious reasons, it's far cheaper to go with an alternative rental agency when you need a car for long distance driving over a few days. I made a quick and easy reservation for a car through the Enterprise website. The morning of, I hauled my butt over to the Enterprise offices and wouldn't you know...I'm a dumb-a$$ and my credit card is expired. Yep. I tell the gent that I am happy to let him use my debit card (as my checking account had waaaay more than enough). He said, nope, we can't take debit cards. I asked, "what about holding the $300.00 (read: it is ridiculous that they don't mention they require a $300 deposit on the website) on my debit card and when I return the car, I will use my credit card. I can have them overnight the new card and my boyfriend will bring it with him the day I return." Nope. Wouldn't do that either. Ok...."how about I call my credit card agency and get the new number and new expiration date and you can manually enter the credit card into the sytem?" Nope. We have to swipe the card. I looked at my watch...looked at the dude behind the counter and simply said...cancel it. I'll take the train. I know he was doing his job, but com'on. There was nothing you could do to help me out in my moment of stupidity? Thanks anyway. read more

I've rented plenty of cars from all kinds of companies, and almost every time it's from the airport. But when my own car was in the shop and I needed a car, I chose this one to stop by and pick up a car -- a great decision. It's operated by a small group of helpful young people. They're courteous, responsive, and efficient. After the reservation, the pickup was under 5 minutes. Drop-off was even faster. I also got a courtesy phone call to remind me that my insurance company would no longer be picking up the tab in a couple of days. read more

Nice car (Dodge Charger with around 9,000 miles) . Absolutely as dirty and gross as a car can get. Nasty stuff all over the seats. Interior windows so dirty the film could only be scraped off, not washed off. Guy who checked the car out to me couldn't give a rip. I've needed to rent a car about a half-dozen times in the past year since I don't have a car in Southie. With each and every experience, the staff has been professional, polite, and as another poster said, made me feel like the only customer there. Most recently, there was an issue that came up that really was out of the control of the agents working at the time. They offered me an upgrade which I initially told them not to worry about, but ended up accepting after some insisting on their part. Personally, I think Enterprise Southie has been outstanding in the past year I've been using them. read more

I rent here frequently and always have a good experience. The price is amostly the best around, although I do admit I shop around and occasionally find a better deal at other locations in Dorchester. The cars are always new, clean and ready to go. It never takes more than 15 minutes to be in and out. Being close to the Red Line makes things easy and gives them a leg up on other locations. read more

I had a very poor customer experience here this weekend. I'll preface this by saying the 3 customer service reps I dealt with were pleasant. The rest was terrible. After reserving a vehicle the night before, I showed up to pick up my car and provided my license and debit card. They told me that since this wasn't a credit card they needed proof of address. (Apparently my license wasn't good enough). They asked for a current utility bill or pay stub. When I told the person at the desk I had neither on me, he told me I needed to provide them with one. I said I thought that was a bit extreme, but I would have happily brought both had they informed me prior to arrival. Ironically enough, I rented through Enterprise at a different location this summer for a week and had no issues w a debit card. I also had just signed up for Enterprise ride share which requires license and credit/debit card info and was just approved. How is it that they will rent me a ride share car with my debit card, but won't rent me a car with the same card? inconsistent at best. Then, to put the icing on the cake, the car they gave me was a piece of junk. It was dented and the seats had serious stains on them. I was only using this for me and my son, but no way would I have felt comfortable picking up a client. They told me I could return the car on empty as compensation for my hassle. A nice gesture, but there was about $8 bucks worth of gas in it when I picked it up. Not exactly making me feel good about the situation. Also, the hours at this location are very restricted. Best I can guess is it's sole purpose is for the auto body shop across the street. Needless to say I left a very unsatisfied customer. read more

I like using enterprise because they pick you up this saves money on taxis. I rented a car on-line and I called that location to confirm the date of pick up and location 3 times. I was assured that they would be there. I called the morning of the pick up because I know the level of incompetance is high with these business. First I was told someone was at the location at 7:00 am however there telephones are not ringing through until 8am. My pickup time was 8:30 am. Once I got through it took about 15 minutes to reach the location. I was told by the SAME guy who I spoke with the 3 previous times that my location was serviced by another location. He told me to call that location for a pick up.. WOW amazing customer service! I told him to call and that they better be here by 8:30. Once the other location was contacted they told me to take a cab and they would reimburse me. Once I got to the NEW location the rental amout was different because of the convention center $10.00 surcharge. I said NO WAY I AM NOT PAYING YOU ANOTHER DIME! My Daughter has rented an enterprise car for the Christmas Holiday for about seven or eight tears. We have used my Chase card and my AAA card. The AAA card provides car insurance yet your agents have charged us one hundred dollars a day for the car. The car is usually rented for four or five days and actually sits in my driveway for all but the two days driving from Boston to Whiting N.J. 08759. It is outrageous that I am paying one hundred a day for the car sitting in my driveway. We seem to be talked into some complete insurance charges every time. I have tried to discuss this matter with Enterprise a few times but get put off each time. Please respond! read more

Rented the car in one location, Westin Copley, they charged $75.00 to drop it off at the airport. They also charged $17.00 for a quarter tank of gas that should have been less than $8.00 since they said it was $2.50 per gallon. I tried to dispute but they refused to speak with me. I contacted them via the website but they don't take any emails. A real problem. I used to rent from them five or six times a year. However, based on the service, or lack thereof, I will not.
