This Enterprise is conveniently located within a collision repair business (which we were working with at this time). It was easy to schedule an appointment with Enterprise online, and we were pleased with the car selection upon arrival. What is the BEST about this location, is Joe. Joe goes above and beyond to provide outstanding service. He was helpful, fun, and had great communication start to finish. We have used other car rental services in the past but this experience was by far the best we have ever had. I had a reservation for an SUV 15 days in advance. On the day I was to pick the vehicle up at 9:30 a.m. my ride to the rental agency was running 1/2 hour late. I called ( took three tries to get through) and advise them of my late arrival for the pick up. When I did arrive at 10 a.m. there was no car, and no time frame as to when a car would be available, or even if it was an SUV... besides assurance that "we are picking up cars now and it shouldn't be more than 15 min" they couldn't tell me what type of car was coming in.... I asked if they had ANYTHING available, answer was no.... mind you that were were 3 others waiting for cars and 3 staff members behind the counter not helping answering phones or answering any customer questions .... A vehicle did arrive after being returned from rental after my waiting for 1/2 hour but then would need sanitizing and cleaning before I could drive off. The manager said it would be just "a 15 min wait" BullShit.... Horrible customer service!!! Called and borrowed A friends car .... Please Enterprise, school your workers..... 1) Make contact with the customer the day before or the morning of rental, to advise them of any delay. I booked a car through enterprise.com and I got my confirmation e-mail. When I called this location to schedule the pick-up I was told that they may not have a car. My confirmation e-mail from Enterprise did not say..."we may or may not have a car". The rep at the location obviously did not care at all whether they could have my car available, so it could be possible that I'd show up and end up without a car. I rented a van from these guys. It was really short notice. One guy told me that they could probably do it for me, and they'd have to check to make sure that another guy wasn't going to get the van. They called me back on time, told me they couldn't get ahold of this other guy, and were cheerful and courteous the whole way. These places are staffed with a bunch of slappy kids in cheap suits who can't take a crap without asking their boss. Hey, why doesn't the boss just answer the phone, then? If you call, and are fortunate enough to get an answer, prepare to sit on hold while he/she asks the boss what to do. Then, if you ask a question, prepare to be put on hold while he/she finds out the right answer. I must confess that at one time, many years ago, I worked for a competitor. So I know how the business works - you are instructed to get as much as you can for a car rental. And price is determined by an equal mix of 'how you were referred' and 'what cars are available'. Specifically, if you are a 'yellow pages' caller, you get bent over on the rate. If you know someone or are getting your car repaired or something like that, you have half a shot at not getting screwed. I'd like to think that I conducted myself in a more respectable manner when I was in a similar position. About half a step above mattress sales people. read more

Very fishy. I booked a car four days before my departure. I got a call one day prior to pick up from a young woman from this location telling me about a policy (IL license required if you use debit card) that would make my rental more difficult. After we ended the call, I called back in order to better understand my options. When I called, I got another agent who sounded a bit condescending. I thanked her and told her I would figure it out. I decided to just take the train instead of drive. I called the location to cancel but I also got on the Enterprise website to cancel at the same time. Although I had an e-mail confirmation for my Monday 3pm return, the website now said the location was closed on the Monday and that my return time was invalid. When I told the agent at the location on the phone that I would just take the train, she (the second one again) was very dramatic, 'awwwwwww. I'm soooooooo sorry', after being rather 'whatever' previously. Don't know what was up, but it does not feel like customer service. read more

I rented a car from them at the recommendation of Fletcher Honda who was repairing my car. They said I could even leave my rental car there at the dealer when I picked up my car. I didn't even shop around- I was busy and went ahead with it. The closer location of Enterprise didn't have any cars so I called this one. It was very quick and the staff was friendly, they had the car ready and I signed some papers and she told me I had til 5:30pm the day of return so charges would go accordingly and off I went. My car was repaired the following day and I had planned to leave work early to return it- however, an employee had an injury and I had to take her to the hospital so I missed the deadline on Friday. So I went on Saturday to pick up my car and left the rental at the dealer. Well, since enterprise is closed at noon on Saturday and closed on Sunday they are charging me an additional 2 days!!!! I called and talked to someone this morning who said that should have been explained to me- it wasn't. The girl on the phone said it's because they couldn't rent it- well if they're closed, they couldn't rent it anyway so why should I be penalized? She said she'd have her supervisor talk to me and she put me on hold almost 20 minutes and I hung up. Nobody has called me back. When I get the charge on my credit card I'll just dispute the extra 2 days. Beware. update- I got a call back from the supervisor- he said he is refunding me the additional 2 days. I am now satisfied but not giving a 5 star rating as I was kept on hold for so long and he never apologized for the wait or them not communicating, etc. read more

This place is terrible. Horrible service in part because they don't have enough staff. I came into the office and had to wait for the one clerk in the office to finish his call with a customer (no big deal here, I understand) but he handled three more phone calls that came in while I was waiting instead of putting them on hold. All the while he kept putting his hand over the phone and telling me multiple times that it has been crazy busy and he hadn't eaten lunch yet. Maybe it is just me, but I was raised to never make excuses for why something isn't done. A couple days later I called in to switch cars, as my car was going to be in the shop for quite a while and I got stuck with a gas guzzler (only car they had left for me). Luckily now there were two people in the office but the second person had no idea what to do and instead put me on hold to wait for her superior. I spent 20 minutes on hold before giving up and deciding to go there and speak with the superior in person. I usually like enterprise, they have good customer service and I've used them multiple times. But this is BY FAR the worst service and experience I've ever had with enterprise. I live in the city, so I have plenty of car rental options to use. I rent from Enterprise because it's usually easy and reliable. The customer service I experienced at the West Loop location on Morgan, was beyond horrible. Kim didn't even attempt to resolve my issue but dismissed me, as if I was not an important enough client. I've been renting from Enterprise for over 5 years, and I've never been treated so poorly. If you use Enterprise, I would recommend a different location. The service here is not worth the hassle. read more

Update. I wrote a pretty intense email to the corporate HQ. In a day I got a response offering me a free rental and some money back on my charges from Avis. I only came here for convenience and if I had to refer a friend to a car rental place it wouldnt be this one. Dont get me wrong the car was reliable but the service wasnt the greatest. I was attended by a woman named Holly which seemed really nice and knew how to do her job. After returning the car I wasnt even given a reciept ,no thank you, nor proof that I had in fact rented a car from them. Instead I have proof in my bank account that they had got into. I apparently owed a difference of my initial security deposit you have to put down before you take off. Well not only was I NOT notified prior to deducting money out of my account but they over charged me. I called to reason with my deduction and she had in fact realized the mistake. She said she'd refund the over charge back into my account. After 4 BUSINESS days i did not recieve the refund. I called the following week, Holly said she would call me back. NEVER CALLED. Called back the following day same lady answered and she stated " I am by myself here in the office Im gonna put you on hold for 10min ok?" like really? No I told her to call me back. What I thought was good customer service ended in being a incompetence. NEVER did she call me back!! I had to dispute the amount that was promised to me through my bank! Dont call your customers back. They wont come back. ! Customer service isnt adequate here make sure they explain to you what their going to charge you before u start initialing and signing stuff because they want to GET YOU OUT of there as soon as possible and your MONEY!!!! Horrible customer service they slid a charge on me for optional insurance coverage that was not needed. Agent had me sign for that coverage that was not explained to me. As I delivered the vehicle on time and fully gassed like she had explained to me. They hit me with that unexplained charge on optional insurance coverage I was not aware.
