We reserved a vehicle through Costco several weeks ago, and my husband received a voicemail yesterday from Ian confirming our rental pickup for Friday. However, we received another call today from Cris stating that the van is no longer available. I contacted Costco, and the representative clarified that under their agreement with Enterprise, it is the rental company's responsibility to secure an alternative vehicle if the reserved one becomes unavailable. I then spoke with Josh, the branch manager, who stated that there were no vans available anywhere in Sacramento. This information proved to be inaccurate, as I was able to locate availability at another location myself. Costco then assisted us in securing a reservation there. This situation suggests a lack of effort and accountability in resolving the issue. Providing incorrect information and failing to assist in finding a solution created unnecessary inconvenience and reflects very poorly on the level of customer service at this branch. Additionally, my son has previously had a negative experience at this same location, which raises further concerns about consistent service quality. As a result of these repeated issues, we will not be renting from this location again. I have also filed a formal complaint with Costco, as this experience does not align with the standards expected under their partnership with Enterprise. read more

By far the worst experience that I have ever had with a rental car company. My van rental was from 10:30 a.m. May 30th until 10:30 a.m. May 31st. I was on the way and called them because I didn't realize that I had not taken my driver's license with me and wondered if they could accept a photo of it. They informed me that they could not, which was completely understandable. However, they've been informed me that since it had been more than 2 hours after my car rental time, that they had given my 15-seat van to someone else. A band proceeded to say that they called my phone and left a voicemail letting me know that they had done so. I did not receive no such telephone call or voicemail. I quickly had to pivot to get a minivan, which was not ideal because it caused two different people to drive. I went home to get my driver's license and then returned back to the rental office only to find it closed for the day. I understand that's rental companies potentially close earlier on the weekend, but 2:00 p.m. on a Saturday does seem a bit early, and again, they made no effort to call me so remind me or let me know that's they were closing orange to figure out a way for me today get the keys after I had already paid. I can count on one hand how many bad reviews I have written in my 44 years of life. This was by far the worst. I will never use that Enterprise rental location ever again, and it gives me pause to use Enterprise in general and this is their way of practice. read more

Customer service is terrible. Car was given to me with no gas in it and dirty. The air-conditioning vent was broken and later they tried to charge me for it. The young man that work in there are ridiculous. Had to wait an hour and a half for my car that I had reserved two weeks ahead of time. Twice now we have made a reservation for an SUV from this location and both times they have not had the vehicle we reserved ( reservation was made months in advance). Had to drive to another location and pay extra to ensure we had the vehicle for our early morning departure. Not to mention the logistics of picking up and dropping off at a location in another city. Very disappointing. I guess it's my mistake for going back again after the first time, learn from my two mistakes and go somewhere else. read more

Not only do they have a nice selection of cars, but the customer service is top-notch. The inside of the office is very spacious, and it just has a much better vibe than most of the other locations that I've been to. We rented a cute vroom vroom for a weekend getaway. The car was super clean, smelled good, and was filled up! Thank you for saving us time. Plus, we got great gas mileage. The return was as easy as the pick up. We were in and out in less than ten minutes. The customer service was equally as great as it was during pick up. We've been renting from enterprise for years and it's been hit or miss with the staffing for the quality of service. We've also rented from Enterprise at many of the airports (San Diego, LAX, Orange County and Sacramento). Today we did our normal rental pick up and car switch out at the Folsom location and someone new helped us. Her name was Izzie. Izzie was very thorough and quick. She did the process without flaw and without asking us all the BS questions and bugging us with all the details about all the protections that are offered. I hope that Izzie gets this review and is rewarded for her great customer service that she provided. read more

My own car required a 3-day recall repair, so the Kia dealer arranged a rental with Enterprise. I had to wait about 1 hour to pick up the car once the Kia dealer provided me a ride there. With the abysmal wait time, it would have been nice to at least have a larger waiting area with WiFi and more seats, though honestly, I would have preferred more staff so I could have gotten going sooner. When it was finally my turn, they asked what kind of vehicle my Kia under repair was. When I mentioned it was the EV9, they gave me a much smaller Buick Envision instead without explanation. I am not sure why they bothered asking in the first place. There is no comparison in terms of interior space, as the Envision is much smaller than the EV9 inside and was uncomfortable due to its size. If they didn't have a midsize SUV, it would have been nice to at least offer something a little bigger instead as an option, such as a Ford Expedition. Shortly after driving off the lot, I was not pleased to find that they had given me a vehicle with multiple windshield chips. They should inspect the glass for damage too, not just the steel body. Thankfully they took note of the damage once I called them, but they did not offer a replacement vehicle due to the windshield damage. The car also had a very strong disinfectant smell which lingered for the 3 days I had it and was rather unpleasant, despite leaving the windows open at home for a while. Upon returning the car, thankfully I didn't really have to wait long, unlike my pickup experience. They also provided a complimentary ride to the Kia dealer so I wouldn't have to wait for the Kia shuttle. read more

Enterprise accused me of damaging a car I did not damage. At pickup, an employee casually mentioned existing damage to the back fender but never documented it. Later, they claimed there was damage to the inside of the bumper--something no one inspected or showed me during checkout. They're now threatening collections after I disputed the claim. They forced me into a corner and threatened my credit so that I would pay the claim through my insurance. Save yourself the time, money, and stress and avoid this place like it's the plague! They are scam artists, at best, with their false claims to clients that refuse their insurance so they can have other people pay for the wear and tear and damages to their rentals. They even told me that by refusing their insurance, I am basically liable for any damages, even if I wasn't at fault. Sounds shady and scammy to me. They tried to get me to sign a paper saying I was liable without telling me what it was. I asked them and THEN they told me and I refused. This seems to be a recurring issue with Enterprise based on others' experiences. I urge anyone renting to take detailed photos and videos. I will not be renting from them again. Go to Hertz or ANY other place that won't scam you and hold you liable for damages you DID NOT DO! Update: they reply to your reviews acting like they are going to make things better but it's all so others can see that they're "nice" which is a lie because you literally cornered me and threatened my credit if I didn't pay for the damages I WAS NOT liable for!!!! You're corporate HQ even told me since I didn't pay to have YOUR insurance, you can blame me for things that were not my fault!!! Everyone I talk to says Enterprise are scammers and do this. Recommend you find other options if possible. They'll bait and switch you- website will allow you to rent something cheap, and then you get there and they tell you they only have larger cars that cost twice as much. Extremely slow service. I had a reservation, showed up on time, and still waited nearly an hour to get my car. There were only a couple of people ahead of me, but the staff moved at a glacial pace and seemed completely unprepared. No urgency, no apology for the delay, and definitely not what you expect when you're on a tight schedule. If you're in a hurry or value your time, look elsewhere. I was waiting for a survey to comment on my drop-off experience, but I did not receive one. I did receive a survey when I picked up the car. Jake was great, friendly, and helpful. I was worried my work did not rent a large car to transport the needed supplies. Jake informed me of several options if I wanted to upgrade. Jake took the time to show me by taking me to the parking lot and showing me the space in EACH car, which was very helpful. Above and beyond! Ray could not have been more pleasant, welcoming, and fast when I returned the car! The big smile on his face made him extremely approachable. Ray provided me with a ride home within less than a minute after checkout! I was in and out in a flash. I loved that, home in less than 20 minutes! The only reason I docked this location is a star is I called for a pickup to get my rental on Oct 14. The woman on the phone took down my number address and told me someone would contact me shortly. Well, no one did. I got a ride, and halfway to the location I looked at the contact info and noticed the location was only open 9-12 pm on Saturdays. Booooooooo...as it was 12:15 pm. In late December 2024 we rented a new SUV at this Enterprise location and had a good overall experience. Our (phone) reservation was honored, the pick up was flawless, and they treated us well. There are several managers there and I believe Max or Mark was the one who called us to review our experience the day after we returned the vehicle. The one thing that we recommended was to leave the car manual inside the car since we were unfamiliar with the dashboard panel symbols. I also wish that we would have had some sort of paperwork that it was a car rental and receipt. Not everybody likes to have everything online. We are giving a 5 star because they provided excellent customer service, the manager was professional, and addressed our concerns. read more

The worst fucking service I've ever had in my entire life. I booked a reservation this morning. I went to get my car everyone was going great... until they told me I can't get the car due to new address change. I just got out near death accident and my car is completely totaled so I need to rent a car. I needed a car to go to work and make it on time. I used my American Express credit card and it got declined twice because my bank thought it was fraud. So I called my bank to get that situated but since they swiped it twice I would not be able to use my credit card. My debit card but they need two forms of pay stub or utility bill. I had my previous address and just moved into a NEW PLACE just 2 DAYS ago how was I suppose to have two forms of bills when I just moved in??? That makes no sense. I'm on TWO leases from my previous address and new address. I have the money and the resources but they couldn't bypass or HELP me get a car that I need to get. By far the worst enterprise I ever experienced in my life. Please DO NOT GO here!!! They don't help you with anything!!!! Whether you have money or going through a lot they don't give a shit about you. STAY AWAY!!!! If they told me from the beginning I would have never changed my address on my account. They picked me up from the car auto shop. Had a reasonable price for a week long rental. $20 a day for the extra insurance. I had to extend my rental and that was easy. But after refunding me and getting a positive note from the better business bureau, they decided to send me to a debt collector to collect the amount that they had just refunded me. Tom Sterling and Gabby who are both managers are scammers BEWARE!! These individuals are not fulfilling their fiduciary duties to customers. They will try to run unauthorized charges on your card, they will make rate adjustments (increases) after you have the car. They will give you vehicles with warning lights and no oil. If they don't want to speak with you they will simply leave you on hold or disconnect your call. They say one thing to your insurance adjuster and service writer and another to you. Often gives false and misleading information, most importantly, however; the information is never consistent. read more

The level of arrogance behind their customer disrespect 1) by providing any customer with a confirmed reservation an ultimatum, in the parking lot, at the vehicle, in a time of need, a take or leave it choice, 2) by providing an avenue of assistance that does not provide any, is simply amazing. I guess they showed me who was boss and I'm pretty sure they felt they "won the day" when I left without a rental even though they had a 4 week notice of my reservation needs and failed to have the car on the lot. Hey snowflakes - - if 2% of readers review all the 1star posts you earned in the last year and rent elsewhere, you lose everyday - forever. My loss? - I drove my car which is not as comfortable as the luxury sedan I requested but more so than the Rav4 you wanted to stick me with and the time I'll never recover dealing with your amateur hour horseshit. Management 101 could fix these issues from re-occurring - however, if its a sales tactic, which is what this appears to be, - then its profits before service - - good luck with that. read more

Book a reservation for a car to be picked up at 12PM. I show up 5 min early and they don't have my car. I booked an intermediate car and they are trying to put me in a V8 gas guzzler sports car. This is not what I booked. The team working here is all over the place, unorganized, unprepared, and doesn't seem to know what's going. Enterprise has gone downhill shortly after the move over to this location. Corporate needs to visit, assess, and make changes to what they are doing over here. After waiting a little over 30 minutes from when my reservation was set for, I finally got into a car. Not the size I booked or wanted. But it's a car. read more

I rented from the Folsom branch (340 Plaza Dr.) Renting was fast and easy. I loved the rental. However my issue is upon returning the rental. I rented the truck 4 days total. When I returned the truck the gentleman I had been dealing with left for the day. The person who I dealt with upon returning the truck says "Ok I see you rented for 5 days." I corrected him and said no only 4 days. He looked a little confused but agreed with me and we finished the return process. What he said about it being 5 days got me thinking so I called the next day as a new customer and asked for pricing on 4 days w/o insurance = $393. 4 days w/ insurance = $532. 5 days w/o insurance = $431.96 5 days w/ insurance = $657.45 7 days w/o insurance = $459.40 7 days w/ insurance =$783.51 I was charged 431.96 on a 4 day rental. Now I see why when I returned the rental he thought it was a 5 day rental. But when he realized it was a 4 day rental and not a 5 day rental he should have adjusted the price. But he did not! I was still charged for 5 days. I called the Folsom branch to have the price adjusted and refund the extra day I was charged, All I was given is the run a round. Needless to say they didn't refund the day I was charged. The person who charged me 5 days to begin with is wrong, the person upon returning the rental was wrong and the manager was not only wrong for not fixing it when I called he also is saying to the employees its ok to overcharge people and management will back them up. Not all branches are the same. Some are great and some don't care if they overcharge you. I will never go back to the Folsom branch on Plaza Dr. I will never go back to the San Bruno branch on San Bruno Ave. ( they were way worse than the Folsom branch) To this day the best branch I have ever been to (I have been to many) is the Bayview/Hunters Point branch in San Francisco.
