Enterprise staff worked seamlessly with our body shop and insurance to make the rental process simple and the billing directly to insurance. We were picked up at the body shop and offered a ride at drop off. We specifically asked for a sedan as we have a small garage in Chicago and they accommodated our request with a hybrid Hyundai Elantra. Mike spent time with us explaining the nuances of the hybrid functionality before we left which was very helpful and how to add the vehicle to or I-pass account, so we did not occur rental transponder charges. When they have cars available, they will go out of their way to help you give you the best price. The cars are always clean and nice. The staff is usually very friendly helpful I knocked off one star only because if you're in a pinch and you need a rental car especially a van they rarely have those but if you have the luxury of planning ahead, I would definitely recommend using them. read more

READ THE REVIEWS regarding reserving cars in advance and not getting one! I booked a MINIVAN 5 weeks in advance. March 18th I received a vmail confirming I would be picking up the "minivan" on March 22. I confirmed 100% yes. I received a vmail on March 22 @ 12:45pm (day of pick up) asking if I wanted to pick up the "minivan" earlier. I called 27 minutes later & was told she no longer had a minivan, however they had a Durango. I was upset stated I had a big family & luggage, as well received a written agreement & 2 vmails confirming my MINIVAN. My personal vehicle is a Durango, I didn't want to put miles on it, as well it wasn't necessarily big enough. She told me she'd discuss w/manager & call back. @ 4:02pm (close at 5pm) she called back stating "no changes". I was irate asked for the supervisor. I did not cancel the reservation. At 4:22pm the supervisor called & told me that's all she can do. My "corporate rate" was also referenced. I was irate, I felt it was "bait & switch" & it was "unethical". I would go get the car, but this is not how to treat customers. I was told that I didn't have to rent from them. I explained it was too late as we were leaving on vacation. I arrived at Hanover Park, IL @ 4:40pm. There were 4 customers in the lobby sitting + 2 others came in while I waited. I was asked who was next, I said I was there for the Durango, she said ok. She then communicated with an internal employee. A few minutes later, 4:55pm my son was on the side of the building waiting for me & watched the Durango get moved from the rear of the building & parked on the street behind the building. While I was waiting she told 3 customers that even though they booked cars today, she didn't have any, that the company was trying to book all the cars. Those customers left extremely irate. At 5:20pm, after sitting for 40 minutes, I was called to the counter. I was told that since I told her I had a Durango & wanted to speak to her supervisor that she didn't have a car for me. I stated the Durango was around back, she stated that it "was not". I was extremely upset. I stated this was "unethical". I was told that I didn't know the meaning of the word "unethical". Then she yelled back at me and told me not to talk any longer. I walked to the side of the waiting area. I immediately called the supervisor & spoke with her colleague who told me the message would be given to her. I stood for 10 minutes awaiting the call back, which didn't occur. Then 3 police cars arrived. I explained myself & agreed to move on. On my way out I took a picture of the Durango which also had a rental sticker on it. I then drove to O'Hare airport to rent from Budget. I immediately wrote a letter explaining my experience to the President of Enterprise. On MONDAY, I received a kind phone call from one of the District Managers. I explained the situation, which he was going to look into, I have yet to hear back. As someone who advocates for the importance of customer-centric practices and ethical conduct, I cannot help but express my dismay at the treatment I received. It is my sincere hope that this incident serves as an opportunity for improvement within the organization to prevent similar experiences for other customers in the future. read more

This placed sucked. My hubby made reservations for luxury car 2 months ago and was told no problem. Then we arrive to get our vehicle and they didn't have one available. They told us they called my husband to confirm we are still picking up luxury car, but my husband missed their call and they left no message. But, still wanted us to get a truck or small car, my husband is 6'5" and wouldn't fit in a small car. So we left and ended up at Hertz and helped us immediately and got the car we needed. Best rental car ever been, actually customer service I got from Daniel was above and beyond started with some issues ended up not having a car that day I had an event at my son's school, Daniel went out of his way to drive me to the school and even offer to pick me up if needed. Please don't rent from this location, the Customer Service Rep Matt is very unprofessional. The location itself is unkempt and the cars they rent reflect that. Everything is about the upsell and they would rather have cars sitting in their lot, then to give you the car you reserved and requested. BEWARE: they are very pushy with trying to get you to buy their insurance for 16 dollars a day. When the guy kept going on and on about it to my mother and I, I finally said: "no, this is how Enterprise makes their money and we are giving them enough with this rental" (laughing, saying it as a joke to hopefully get him to stop talking about it as nicely as I could). He then gave me a dirty look and said that they are required by law to ask. I didn't know they are required by law to ask 6 times throughout the check in process. Also, basically all the cars on the lot are foreign. I personally don't like them because I don't feel as safe, nor do they benefit our economy as American cars do. You would think they would have an American made car/car made by an American company on the lot so I'm not stuck in a Nissan POS that feels as if it going to fall apart with the next pebble it runs over. This was the third time I've rented through the Hanover Park location, and had been renting quite frequently from another location that used to be near my office. The last two times they accepted a ticket as form of a valid license, as have most others. By the way, I am a Platinum member after just starting to rent in January 2017, so I have an enterprise vehicle quite often and would think I would be a valued customer. Wrong. I just had one of THE WORST customer experiences of my life. I will not mention a name on here, though initials are VG. I have the entire conversation recorded, and have the full name and contact information for a gentleman that witnessed the Enterprise "manager" dropping me off in the pouring rain, in the pickup truck I was renting for the 6 days prior, and was charged for renting a 7th day completely out of spite. This is not the first time he has been aggressive, as the last time I called their location he answered the phone with an attitude and conducted himself in a completely rude and unprofessional manner. Almost as though I was a bother asking questions about certain Enterprise services. Turned out he had to pickup his kids or something so he said that's why he was having an off day. However today is a completely different story. Very long story, more than willing to explain over the phone. But to summarize, he supposedly didn't like the way I approached the front door when walking up (he had attitude the second I walked in) and kept accusing me of not holding my end of a specific deal we made the night prior. Wrong. 100% wrong. Long story short, he charged my credit card (specifically told him not to use that card for final payment multiple times, and that I would like to use my debit card instead...but for the correct amount without an added 7th day). He ended up charging the credit card for the upcharged amount, without allowing me access to the vehicle he was making me pay for. He said he would take me home if I'm in the area, as it was about to rain, so I reluctantly accepted. He continued to get aggressive in the car and was insinuating he was doing me a favor by driving me home so I didn't have to walk 3-5 miles in torrential rain. At that point I told him I do not want any favors from him and to feel free to drop me at the next safest intersection. He pulled into the Starbucks in Roselle (aggressively), I got out of the truck (Black Dodge Ram 1500), and it started pouring...very hard. He saw me getting drenched and dramatically/aggressively pulled out of the parking lot. I have the name and number of a man that was behind him in his car when this was happening and said he would be willing to attest to what he saw. SO NOT ONLY DID I GET CHARGED FOR A DAY IN WHICH I WAS NOT ALLOWED ACCESS TO THE CAR, I ALSO CLEANED THE CAR TOP TO BOTTOM BEFOREHAND, ONLY TO GET COMPLETELY SCAMMED OUT OF MY MONEY. ALL PLANS FOR TODAY ARE RUINED BECAUSE OF THIS, MAINLY ORIENTATION FOR A LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTER I AM VOLUNTEERING WITH (orientations only held once every 1-2 months), AS WELL AS MY SEARCH FOR A LOST DOG. NOT TO MENTION THE TWO POTENTIALLY NEW CLIENT APPOINTMENTS I HAVE SCHEDULED FOR THIS AFTERNOON IN WHICH I HAD PLANNED TO USE THE TRUCK FOR. THIS COULD BE A POTENTIALLY HUGE HIT TO MY BUSINESS, AS I JUST STARTED A MONTH AGO AND NEED ANY CLIENTS I CAN GET. I QUIT MY JOB IN FINANCE TO HELP RESCUE DOGS AND PLACE THEM INTO VETTED HOMES (AMONG MANY OTHER THINGS). So yes, this "gentleman" really did some damage. As I was sitting in Starbucks I received a call from him (approx. 20 mins later) saying he had a chance to calm down and apologizes for anything he did. He then offered to remove the EXTRA charge from my account, but ONLY with the contingency that I say out loud that I am happy with his customer service. I responded, "Thank you for the apology, as we both got heated and said some things so I apologize if I said anything to offend you as well. However I cannot say I am even remotely satisfied with your customer service, as I am currently sitting in Starbucks soaked head to toe and without a car to get home in the rain. This was also pretty embarrassing, as it happened directly in front of the main window of the busy Starbucks in my hometown Roselle I am at a loss for words. When I told him I refuse to say I'm happy with the level of "customer service" I received, he charged my card for the upcharged amount. I'm not dumb, he was covering his a** because he knew what he did was wrong, but it didn't work on me. This man should NOT be dealing face to face with customers. And I'm not sure if I'll be using Enterprise moving forward or not, which would be a shame as I have had great experiences outside of this one. I have rented from this location on several occasions and have never had a bad experience. We rent a vehicle in Illinois and drop it off at our destination, after our trip and everything always goes as planned. Our vehicle is in tip-top condition and serves us well. The employees are friendly and efficient. It has been a bit slower at closing time, but they can't do much about the fact that people tend to wait until the last minute to return their cars. read more

I reserved a Standard size car five days in advance. When I went to the rental facility to pick it up, I found out that they did not have the car I had reserved. Instead of upgrading it, I was told that my only option was to go with an intermediate car, in this case a Dodge Dart. Even though they only charged me for an intermediate car, I really needed a little more room. I used the car for one week with two other adult passengers, and the Dodge Dart has no back seat leg room. Based on what I observed while I was at the rental office, I was not the only person who did not get the car they had reserved. I will not be using this facility again. read more

I rented a car over the phone from some national rep for enterprise. I reserved a smaller car and was told it would be ready when I got there. I was there about 30minutes later and was told the car wouldn't be ready for a couple hours. But the representative, Tyler Joldersma, took care of me in quick order. He got another car that was one level up and still honored the price I was offered. Tyler did it seamlessly and professionally. Booked a car with Priceline. Enterprise Hanover called an hour before and said they have an upgrade at no extra fee from the vehicle ordered. Not having a choice at one hour I said ok. It was a Cadillac Escalade with 1/4th tank of gas. They then placed the car I reserved as unavailable and not picked up to priceline. Wrote the rental up as if I was their customer and Up-charged me by $15 dollars per day. Stated that neither of their printers would work to print my rental agreement. Then billed my reserve card $147.00 higher than that upcharge from est. $207.21 to $350.00. Then they billed both the card I used to reserve the car $350.00 for the 3 day rental, and my other payment card for $350.00 also. Making the rental $700.00 for a 3 day rental. If your not a lawyer looking to sue these guys back for fraud don't do it. read more

Please ask for printout, read all details carefully then only sign the paper contract and get a copy of contract copy for your records. This location don't tell you all the truth and fine prints. They rip you off. I am NOT satisfied with their service from this location. Very bad customer service. If you call for complaint they don't listed to you. I believe they have to listed to customer first. I would not recommend particularly 1001 Irving Park, Hanover Park, IL location. This is my favorite Enterprise. I moved and now live over 10 miles away and am not eligible for rides, but I still use this location. (Joe has been my favorite manager.)They're very accommodating at this location and usually have the correct car style or an upgrade ready on time. They also, are very good at handling changes in your plans, such as delays or rental extensions. For the most part, the staff seems like a team of hard workers who love their jobs. And, the best part, this site usually has the lowest online prices. read more

I always book a rental in advance online and still had to wait at least 10 minutes after checking in despite Enterprise calling me the previous day to confirm the time I would be picking up the car. It appears the car would be ready to go for a customer who has been renting cars from them for more than five years. I am appreciative of the "free" upgrade, however, I was not happy that I was given a car that was flat on empty. Next time, I will be sure there's at least half a tank of fuel before signing the rental agreement. read more

I would recommend everyone to avoid this location at all cost, i promise you it will be worth it. I have been renting with enterprise for business purposes. This was my first time at this location, and the following day after my return i was billed $150 cleaning fee. When i called to see what the charge was, i was told "the vehicle was smoked out" and that they found ashes in the vehicle along with the whole car smelled like smoke. My first thought was there is no way as i do not smoke. I asked if they had photos of the ashes and if i can come by to see the vehicle. I was told they already cleaned the car and had nothing to show me. After being on hold for 35 minutes, and then defending myself for the next 40 minutes they finally agreed ti refund me the fee as my previous rentals have not had any additional charges. 3 weeks later still no refund. I called back and spoke to the manager and was told it was processed that day. I am closing in a month and still no refund. On top of that, i received another bill for $150 to be paid immediately. Was in an auto accident and the party who hit me was paying for the rent a car. I called early in the day and spoke with Victor who told me he had the order and I told him I would be in around 4 as I needed to coordinate a ride. Never mentioning I needed to bring anything or was responsible for anything. Upon arrival to pick up the car, Victor was at the counter and lacked Customer Service skills. I was told I needed to give a credit or debit card, for incidentials? Really, why when I am the one without a car. I have my own Ipass, and will fill the gas tank. I offered my last $30 in my wallet but he discounted me. Left without a car and now the insurance company will pay for daily cab fare and associated costs to get me around town.
