We had to get a rental car because of tree damage to our car from the recent snowstorm. Many of the area car rentals were out of cars and this location was initially too but the great efforts of everyone there at the Jackson office found us a car at the last few hours of the day. I couldn't help but notice only 2.9 stars. Perhaps some of those are older reviews or things didn't work out. Sh** sometimes happens. But I know for fact MORGAN A. is very knowledgeable, hard working, and will do what she can to make it right. I'm sure her colleague is just as capable. So if you have a slight problem, don't get upset. Be patient. At times this place can really get busy. But both of these young ladies know their stuff. I doubt there's a problem they can't fix. There's not a lot to choose from as far as renting a car in this area so was not sure what kind of experience it would be. They had midsize sedans. I had a business trip this past week and used the Jackson (Amador County) Enterprise for my car rental. I was very pleased with how quick and seamless the whole transaction went, from reserving the car, picking it up, and bringing it back. Jack, who I believe is the manager, handled my reservation and made me feel like a valued customer. I rarely have the need to rent a car, but the next time I do, I will not hesitate to choose this Enterprise location again. This branch has major issues. We pay a higher premium for the 50.00 a day rental through our insurance for our truck. Well our truck was stolen and I leaned on the insurance company to pay for a rental. I went online and reserved a pickup through the jackson branch. It was scheduled for the following Monday and for them To pick me up at my house at 11am. At 11am on the Monday, they call me to inform me they have no cars to rent or trucks. Not earlier, but at the time I was expecting them to pick me up. They said they would put me in the list in case any rental came back early. Four days past and they never called me. So I went down there instead. By going down I was able to secure a small suv type vehicle which was a far cry from my truck. Upon signing the agreement, he said again that he would be me on the list for people waiting on specific vehicles. One week went by and no one called. I pass the jackson branch daily and spotted a white Dodge Ram sitting in the lot, so I called asking if we could swap. He said yes and I even had Isaiah check to see the fuel level. He guaranteed he'd fill up the fuel tank when I got there after lunch. Now I was 1.75 hours away. And had someone driving my work truck behind me so I could drop the truck off at home. As we drove pass it heading to the gas Station to top off the small suv I notice the white Dodge Ram was gone. I thought maybe he went to get gas, so I call enterprise and the same Young man who promised me the truck would be there now has informed me he rented it out. I wait over two weeks and he couldn't wait 1 hour. I expressed how disappointed I was that he wasted my time and fuel 3.5 hours of work I missed and and over 175.00 in fuel. And he offers me a small fuel comp.. I do plan to return their rental and take my business elsewhere. I called the customer support line where I was placed on hold for 28 minutes and then I get asked to do a survey and the lines drop. I used the chat feature and all they tell you is they will escalate it to a regional team member. I've asked to be called back ever time and nobody calls you back. Starting think this regional support team is made up. Enterprise has really lost it upper hand. Will be bling over to hertz's. Also when I got my car it was scratched, dinged, and filthy. I went and had the scratches Removed and had this car gleaming with a new breathe of life. Reservations mean nothing. And rental Agreements can't be found. They have really become The cesspool of rental car companies read more

I reserved a specific car through my insurance here. When I got there to pick it up, they said it wasn't available then offered me a more expensive car. I said no, I want the car that I reserved. I ended up seeing the cheaper car on the lot but he said it was reserved for someone else. So then I asked what happened to my reserved car and he said he "didn't know." How does that even make sense. That was a joke of an experience and now I have no car. They could have easily told me that they didn't have the car I wanted and I would have simply put in a reservation to the enterprise near my work (which is an hour away) and I could have picked it up after work. Now I'm home and have no ride. Never again. This place sucks and the guy could care less to help me. read more

Let's set the scene: Car trouble that stranded me in Amador County. Work the next day in San Diego. What's a girl to do? There are many options, but what I did was head to the Enterprise in Jackson to rent a car for the trip home. And that's where my luck changed for the better. Jordan, aka JJ, was SO great. He was super professional, very caring about the situation, did all he could to help -- I really felt like it was a great car rental interaction, which some might think is an oxymoron, but which JJ changed for me from this point forward. Look out you car rental people, I have a new standard! You should too, and if you interact with Jordan at Enterprise in Jackson, you'll know what I mean. read more

This is the absolute worst experience I have had. With the company and the branch both, and especially after just totaling my car. My insurance set up the car and I received a confirmation number. I called and found that even though the reservation was made, it wasn't held, they gave the car away and did not have another available, then refused to pick me up. All of the great details you hear in the commercials were completely disregarded, and I am pulling my hair out more now than right after I hit a deer to put me in this spot in the first place. It's incredibly discouraging that even after a circumstance such as that, the customer service was as horrid as it was. After having an absolutely horrendous experience at the Enterprise location in Sonora, California I contacted Sergio at the Jackson location. He was amazing. A polar opposite experience from the branch manager at the Sonora Enterprise. Sergio listened to my issue with the misleading 'Vehicle Class" description, as it pertains to "Standard SUVs" and he worked to find a way around my issue. He and his staff were friendly, accommodating, and went well beyond my expectations. They found exactly what I needed and even offered to locate and bring in a larger vehicle if I thought I'd need it. I highly recommend this location! read more

I had a very good experience here. Brian was really professional, helpful & friendly. The office & lot were both clean & organized. I've used them twice recently and both times I got exactly what I needed for a car. Need a ride to the mechanic around the corner? They got you. These people are so nice! Makes me want to use them for road trips & things not just emergencies. The only downer is their hours.. not open on the weekends and close at 4:30. used to driving a Honda civic.. car wrecked on a Friday. They didn't have any vehicles available until Monday. The pick up time was miscommunication so after dropping my car at the body shop, I had to find a ride home then back to enterprise a few hours later. Then the only thing they had was a huge Ford F-150. Ok it was dirty on the outside and on empty. The employee was not very knowledgeable and just kinda blah. I hear it will have new management soon... hoping that goes better. Also, no rental on the weekends because they close. Eewww not very convenient for the type of business. read more

A business is only as good as the people working. Sergio Gutierrez was great at the time of pick-up and at drop-off. I've used Jackson Enterprise before, my experience was stressful. This time it was a dream, quick and easy. Not only that, the car was great. It had "cruise control assist", something like that. It was wonderful! I got in the Express Lane and set the Cruise Control to the speed limit and set back. In traffic the car actually slows for you, then speeds up again. If road ragers and tailgaters pass and give me a break-check the car slowed abruptly for me. I had to laugh, I didn't have to do anything. read more

If I could give this business 0 stars, I would! Keep in mind I have never had problems with enterprise before... I am appalled at the lack of customer service. After waiting for the agent to get it together she tried rushing us through the process; gave us no information, couldn't answer our questions, and was just down right rude. She then walked us outside and tried giving us a dirty car. When I told her that car was dirty (we had already looked while we were waiting) she proceeded to yell across the parking lot to the detailer: "they say it's dirty"... Ok chick you can clearly see that it's dirty please do not act like I'm inconveniencing you. We made these reservations weeks ago, the car should have been clean! While we waited for it to be cleaned she proceeded to tell us: "let's do this walk through and get it over with"... Uhh excuse me?! 20 mins later they bring the car around, she leaves to get the paper work and I get in to check out the car in more detail. Instantly I'm livid, I'm not sure what they were doing for 20 minutes but it sure as hell wasn't cleaning this car... From what I could tell they wiped the front cup holders out and sprayed some air freshener. The previous renters sunglasses were still in the passenger seat, so obviously the seats were not cleaned. There was trash in the glovebox and spilt soda in the back seat and food debris everywhere. I walked inside and told her the car was disgusting, she didn't say a word just stormed out. When I pointed all of those things out she became extremely agitated and told us "I'll just clean it myself, or you can pick another car for an added cost". Absolutely not! I told her I will not be giving them any more money and our rental needs to be CLEANED. Another 20 mins goes by, she pulls the car around and asks us to sign the paperwork. I did a quick once over and told her we still needed to check all of the lights... And now for the cherry on top of this shit-tastic experience. In response to my request she literally sighs in annoyance. At this point my filter is gone and I reply, "excuse me, does that irritate you?!" Of course her response is no. A few minutes later we are in the cars to leave and after an hour of my time has been wasted and we have been given the WORST customer service we are finally able to get the hell out of there. In conclusion I would use enterprise again but I will never return to the Jackson CA location. read more

Will never book from this place ever again. I have always used Enterprise. First off they state they are open at 8am. No one was there until 8:15am. I booked a sedan and all they offered me was a mini van. I did not book a mini van. Stated he could swap it out with another car maybe the next day. Why would I rent a car and then come back to get another car? Someone from the office called me the day before I was suppose to pick up the vehicle and we went over everything and stated I was good to go with a sedan. They don't seem to have many cars, had an emergency and needed a car for the following Monday for work. Since they aren't opened on the weekends needed to get it Friday. The insurance company put a request in for me. Called to secure the car, and was told they didn't think they would have any cars this weekend. The agent said he would check and call back. Almost an hour now and no call. What car rental place has no cars on Friday? I would expect them to have extra cars there on a Friday. And still waiting for a call back! Honestly, we were a little bummed that we wouldn't get a car when we reserved it - 12 pm because they were out of cars. I couldn't imagine how they were out of cars, but apparently everyone one wanted a car at the same time. Either way, Sterling Tom went out of his way to get us a car we ended up going from a standard sized car to a mini van and made sure we had the most gas economical van that we could get out the few he had gotten in that morning. They are convenient, incredibly understanding and courteous. Mr. Tom was experienced and gracious to us the entire time he was helping us, even understanding our frustration at having to wait until after 3 pm for a car. I would go there again, in a second as long as Mr. Tom is there. Thanks again Mr. Tom for all your help! I have never done this before, but my experience at this location was so terrible, i feel compelled to share it with as many potential customers as i can in the hopes that no one will ever give this location a dime. I had arranged an 8 am pick up at the local auto body shop. After 15 mins of waiting, the shop was kind enough to call enterprise and was put on hold for another 15 mins, meanwhile listening to their hold message claiming to be family owned and boasting their great customer service. He called back twice and finally got someone who said they would arrive in 10 mins. After that didnt happen the shop offered to give me a ride. Once i arrived i joined 6 other customers in the lobby, 2 of whom also did not get their promised pick up. This is the Monday after the Thanksgiving day weekend, so there were multiple customers dropping off their holiday rentals.There was one employee working handling all of this. When she finally was able to check one customer in, she would have to leave the lobby, get the car, vaccum and clean the car, do the walk around etc..Meanwhile the customers are waiting in the lobby listening to the phone ring, which by the way did not stop, not even for 15 seconds the entire time i was there, adding to the stress levels. She was having customers drop off keys with no inspection, promising to bill them correctly, on the phone with other customers while the other lines were ringing, promising to call them back or pick them up, accepting drop offs with customers needing a ride.It makes me wonder how many other promises were broken that day. It is now past 10:00. I have already missed an important meeting in Stockton, where i am the key note speaker. It is finally my turn. When she asked me for my drivers license, all i had was my expired one, i had just recieved my new drivers license and had not put it in my wallet, I had left it in my car at the shop figuring i would need it when they picked me up. If they had picked me up as promised it would not have been an issue. Instead of apologizing for not picking me up and my 2+hour wait, and offering to take me to the shop now, they offered to give me a ride after assisting the remaining customers in the lobby who entered long after I was there. At this point, they were not getting my business. It is hard for me to believe that anyone would give this location any business at all. I have been in customer service and management all my life and know the challenges of running a business. In my 52 years on this planet have never been treated so indifferently nor have i seen and experienced a business run so poorly. I had a decision in the beginning to chose HERTZ or enterprise. I should have chosen HERTZ and encourage anyone who reads this to do the same. read more

I just had the worst experience i have ever had with a rental company. I travel frequently. Rent cars all over the world and have never had such a bad expereince! The location Martell/Jackson CA. I was trying to rent a car. Because I refused your insurance, the agent insisted on all sorts of details about my car insurance. When I did not kno my limits he insisted on calling AAA to find this information. This has never happened to me before. Their excuse was they had had a bad experience. Ok - so, I waited and waited as they tried to contact AAA, I told them I was paying ith an AMEX card so that also gave me coverage. They weren't interested. After at least a half hour, I started getting agitated. The agent I was delaing with was cool and tried to placate me, but the other guy got offensive and started telling me not to yell at them, it was not there fault. I was not yelling I was just getting annoyed. My son, who was with me got upset and told the backup agent not to talk to me like that, but he continued. I decided to walk out as I did not need to be treated this way. On my way ot, I said - you are getting away with this as you are the only game in town. His comment was they were not. So I went and found that Hertz had a satellite office in the area. I got a nicer car for less money and was in and out in 10 minutes without being harassed or belittled. You can bet I am going to tell everyone i now about this experience. read more
