I wanted to start with having to book a last minute reservation. The vehicles were limited because I was booking the morning of. Shortly after leaving there location we got a odor of smoke. I reached out to Enterprise customer service and they noted the complaint and referred me back to the location I had picked the vehicle up from. When I returned I brought it to the managers attention. Jerry the Manager apologized and took responsibility for their mistake. I appreciate his level of professionalism he did not make excuses and took care of the matter. I can tell this location is busy and mistakes are prowned to happen when trying to deal with several customers at a time. In the end when a mistake is made by a company it says a lot about how a company responds and the attitude they take to correct the situation. Customer service lacks, I was given a car with an air leak at a different location so I brought the car here because I was told I can go to any enterprise to exchange the rental and this one was closest. The people at this location made me leave the shop to take the car to the gas station to top it off even after given my situation. They gave me another vehicle that I didn't have the option to choose, I mentioned that the new car had a funny smell and the guy admitted to me that the car had been sitting there for a while :/ then when I got home I realized that the mirror on the sun visor was shattered. They didn't properly inspect the car before giving it to me. My whole experience was so frustrating. I made reservations a couple weeks before our 12/29 SUV rental at the Enterprise in Lemon Grove CA. When we arrived, as scheduled at 10 am, there was no car for us. They said they might be able to get something by 2pm but that wasn't guaranteed. Also. there was a waiting room full of people with reservations when we arrived that they did not have cars for either. They ruined our vacation. I had read on Yelp that this was a possibility at this location and I should have listened. I feel sorry for the people that work there. It must be horrible for them. Steer clear. read more

tldr: hassle to use a debit card, reservation not honored, didn't clean the vehicle, disrespectful attitude from employees. The customer service was awful at this location. I've rented from one specific branch for almost ten years with no issue and excellent customer service, so I don't consider this an Enterprise issue, its a location specific issue. It was a hassle to use a debit card instead of a credit card, which has never been an issue at other branches. Employees acted annoyed at us that we didn't have a credit card and made us do extra paperwork. Then we are told that our car is not available but we can take an SUV for an extra $100. I should have walked away right there but decided to choose the SUV and put aside the fact that I was paying to fix an issue from Enterprise's side. My spouse drove home in the rental so when I finally got in the SUV about an hour after leaving the branch, I realize it smells like marijuana and vapes. Clearly was not well cleaned. Upon return of the car we needed to extend a day but nobody answered phones at the branch so we weren't able to communicate this. They don't have after hours drop off (my other branch does, its amazing!) so we look at the sign and it says they are open 9-2pm the following day. We return at 1pm after our work shifts and gates are closed and an employee says they are closed. We point out that the hours on the sign say 2 and the employee shrugs and says, "yeah that sign is wrong," and pretty much implied we were SOL. We pushed a little and he reluctantly allowed us to do a return. At this point I have accepted that I will be charged for two additional days but I was not about to wait another two days to return my vehicle and pay even more. Now the agent starts acting overly nice which I find disrespectful. He pulls up the contract on his little ipad thing and then says, "oh they never updated your original contract." Astounding, since we were in the office for 45 minutes doing paperwork but apparently nobody bothered to note that they forced us into an upgrade. He corrected the contract and I have never been happier to leave the keys and I will never return to this location. Every employee acted annoyed at us for renting a car and apathetic to helping resolve any issues. Save yourself time and disrespect and go to the La Mesa branch. I should also add that when I shared this experience with family members they all had their own stories of issues with this branch. read more

A small location with barely a waiting area, so we left and waited to get a call that a car was available. The only reason we came to this location was because insurance sent her here. This location has a great Assistant Manager, William, who is not only courteous, but has the customer's interests at the forefront. He helped me with renting a car while mine was in the repair shop, and was able to switch the cars at a moment's notice when we wanted to upgrade or downgrade as it took a long time for the repair shop. Staff like William want you to go back whenever the need arises. I would say he stands in the top 1% of management level employees. I had a workforce of over 250 employees and know when to spot one. When I first arrive associates seem to be very efficient. I was communicated that I would have options to pick from, unfortunately they only had one so I had no choice. The car was a bit dusty from the exterior, the interior had coffee stains, and the seats, dash board, and steering wheel well not dusted nor properly sanitize. The windshield was not clean. The only thing that was good about the car that it had a full tank. The vehicle that was given to me also had a maintenance ‍ warning I called and advise them and they said it was okay. I finally returned the car and told me I would get my refund 3-5 days. I called my bank and they have not received any form of payment. Please verify your refund is being returned. I suggest you guys using Turo next time you want to rent a the cleaning procedures and customer service is better then enterprise. read more

Made a reservation for a car, received a confirmation email, got a ride down there to pick up the car and when I got there I was told they had no cars but that I could make another reservation for tomorrow and try again (again no guarantees they would have a car). The company should have a better system in place to not confirm reservations when they have no cars available, and the branch should also call customers if they can't fulfill those reservations so customers don't waste their time heading down there. read more

I made my reservation weeks in advance and on the day of pick up my rental was not available until 3 hours after my requested pick up time. The gas level was just under half a tank and the staff member said to return the vehicle with the same amount of gas on the return date. When I drove the vehicle home to start loading my belongings, I found a cell phone stand in the center console and an empty beer can in the cup holder of the sliding door. On the drop off day, a staff member called and asked if I could return the rental 2 hours earlier than I reserved it for and said that "they could really use it." As a favor, I agreed to return the car at 4:30pm instead of my original drop off time which was at 5:30pm. I arrived at 4:35pm and was told that I would be charged a late fee because it was past the 1 hour grace period. I told the staff member that I was actually dropping the car off earlier than I booked it for and after looking up my information at the front desk he charged me my original price. On the drive home I received an email of my receipt and saw that I was charged $5.56 for a "Refueling charge." However I dropped the car off at exactly half a tank which is more than what I received it with. The vehicle itself was an extremely good car with all the bells and whistles but the customer service at this location was absolutely horrible. read more

Nancy was cheerful and professional. She quickly took my reservation and was the one that picked me up on time at the repair shop later that week. I really do not understand why this company enjoys preferred vendor status with Farmers Insurance. My last 3 interactions with them has left me really disappointed. The first time the gave VW Bug with a broken front driver's seat which rocked when accelerating and decelerating. Took it back and they tried to give me a car that was 10.00 a day more expensive than what my policy covered. So they gave me a gas guzzling van. The second time the car they gave me reeked of Marijuana so badly, it gave my wife headaches. Advised the staff and the guy who helped me agreed and felt so bad, he wished he could offer me a credit, but since it was an insurance claim, there was nothing to credit. The third time, again, a gas guzzling van which I declined. After all the excuses, they placed my name on a list and told me they'd call when more cars were returned. They never did! So I called my adjustor and told them about my horrible experience with these people and suggested that they be taken off their list of preferred vendors. Go somewhere else! People are Polite for the most part. Except a 'manager' is rude. Most of the cars seems like need maintenance.

I had a reservation this morning at 9am. I chose the "you click we pick" option. I called this enterprise I spoke to the manager and he tells me that he cannot tell me which car they will have for me. I told him that I would like to know what vehicle I'm getting before I spend money on an Uber to get to their location because they aren't doing pick ups. My reservation is at 9 AM I asked him if I can call back at 8:45 so he can tell me my options, he said that I would have to be there in person and asked twice if I wanted to change my reservation. I told him twice I did not want to change my reservation. He was talking over me and was not listening to me and my concerns. Gave me much attitude said he has been at that location for 8months. I have rented from enterprise for a decade! I know they can go above and beyond for their customers and me asking 15min before my reservation wasn't a big thing he could have helped with, instead he lost a customer and lost business. This "manager" shouldn't be a manager and should be put on a how to treat a customer schooling before speaking or dealing with anyone. read more

My family and I just recently rented from this Enterprise location for our weekend family vacation. I put a reservartion down for an SUV. The night before they gave me a courtesy call to tell me it will take 30 min due to increase of business on the weekend for processing, so I made sure to alot that time in my planning. When I showed up, the SUV was not available, so we got upgraded to an awesome Mini Van. It was perfect! My family and I thouroughly enjoyed taking our rental car for the weekend! The process was a lot faster to pick it up and drop off than expected. Tim was very kind and helpful the day of pick up and Dave, as well, took care of me when I dropped off. Only downloaded this app to leave a review, never in my life have I left a review on any business, came in at 8am to rent a car, had to give proof of new residence but made me get 2 forms of document, a utility payment, insurance, or pay stub, finally called ADP to get my direct deposit info with address on it, then had to contact car insurance company to change my address to my new one, then when I swiped my card it didn't go through at first so I sent more money to that specific acount to swipe again, but enterprise said I can't use that same card for another 24hrs to try again bc system won't take a card that didn't go through the first time, so I then had to Uber to the bank, get a whole new debit card with my name on it, not a temporary bank card, then Uber back to Enterprise from bank with new debit card, to come back and to learn the car I had reserved it had already been given out to another person while I was at the bank, finally with a new card, 2 forms of payment, pay stub (that took for ever bc I had to contact APD) and insurance card with my current address I was finally able to leave with the car that I didn't make reservations with. Next time enterprise needs to inform customers of the bowl shit requirements they need to make, in order to snag a rental car. The whole thing took over 4 hours. A utility bill works, but not a lease w/ your name on it, a insurance card works, but not your registration to the vehicle, a credit card works but not cash, the staff was solid and killed it, just only hang up was them giving away the car to someone else, within 5 mins. And completely disregarding the reservation I already had on it. Fuck Enterprise you guys need to do better about informing customers what they need ahead of time, and also allow a debit card to get swiped a second time. And also tell them the online price is $160 more expensive then what's advertised online. Do not rent from this trash corporation, save yourself the b.s, from here on out anytime this company gets brought up in front of me, best believe I'm letting everyone hear this story, and know how trash you guys are.
