when someone works in customer service and is kind, helpful, professiona and just a nice person I like to praise them. I know how hard it is to work in that field. Especially at a car rental company. Ben at enterprise on Harlem Rd in Loves park, IL was absolutely amazing!!! I had an issue with my credit card. I was already embarrassed that it got declined and then to not have any other options was not an enjoyable thing. Ben was so so patient and kind. He helped me figure out a solution and made me feel at ease. I had to call back a few days later and specifically asked for Ben and once again helped me. This branch of Enterprise is impressing in no ways at all. When I first rented the car, there were multiple mix-ups, in spite of instructions. Delayed my departure by 1.5 hrs. And I was waiting in the cold driveway -- just to be sure I would see the driver. The telephone! What's up with that? No one picks up. Phone company says won't connect. Once in awhile someone picks up. Not reassuring. So now to returning the car. One person in office. Three people waiting. And the person is slow. Do better, Enterprise. Please. read more

These guys are awesome. I didn't make a reservation, I just walked in to see if they had a car available. My wait was zero minutes, even though they were busy. They had enough staff at the counter. They welcomed me & had a car available. I was out of there with the rental in less than 10 minutes. I brought it back unannounced 1 day early, no problem. Again, I was addressed immediately and was on my way in 5 minutes or less. It's not Enterprise that's great, it's specifically the staff at this location. I've rented cars all over the country, and this place by far is my best rental experience. read more

when I went to make an appointment they told me they didn't have anything and I'd have to wait two weeks... I was talking my car in for hair damage repair, so I waited the two weeks the day came to get my car serviced and enterprise could not find my reservation anywhere, so I had to reschedule yet again Previously we rented another car from them that was is horrible condition. there were no floor mats, just the carpet and there were huge holes everywhere..the car had dents and scratches and considering it was only a year or two old was in bad shape. The worst part is when we turned on the air conditioner...the smell of body odor that came out was unbearable... One of the most anxiety-inducing situations you can find yourself in is being without a car and needing one. When my car needed some work done, most of the local places I called were out of vehicles and wouldn't guarantee when they'd have any back, suggesting the best I could do was to keep calling back every day until they had one available. While this experience was frustrating, you have to admit this is a challenging industry to represent, since cars are always in high demand, leases are extendable, and the situations where you need a car can be very unpredictable. Initially I booked a reservation through Enterprise.com, but be aware that even when you are booking a location-specific reservation, the website does not necessarily reflect the cars currently in stock at that location. Both of the times I booked online reservations at other Enterprise branches, I received phone calls several hours later that the cars were not actually available. The best thing to do is call customer service at 1 (855) 266-9289 and book your reservation with an actual sales rep, because they can see accurately what vehicles are in stock at the locations near you. All that being said, I had a fantastic experience renting a car at this Enterprise location. Justin and the rest of his team were very accommodating and professional. They took extra care to explain their policies, answer any questions or concerns, and to make sure I was comfortable. I would definitely recommend them for your next rental. read more

We picked up our rental car from the Enterprise location at 1945 Harlem Road on 12/22/2022. The staff, Jalisa and Colt, were incredibly helpful and kind in making sure we had a car that would be safe to drive from IL to MN in or after a snow storm. The day after pick up (12/23/2022) we received a courtesy check-in call from Reed and he also went out of his way to provide us an available SUV for our long trip, to ensure utmost safety. We successfully made it to MN on Christmas Day and will always be grateful for the team at the Loves Park Enterprise for taking the time and care to ensure quality service for our safe travels. read more

I guess I should thank all of the other renters who had such terrible service in the past. This was my first time renting from this location, and it was a very pleasant experience. The associate was very friendly, did not try to push any extra services on me, and got me in my car and on my way very quickly. I usually rent in Beloit, which has always treated me very well, but they will not allow me to return a car on Sunday anymore, so they lost some business this past weekend. read more

I reserved a car online with this Enterprise office about two weeks before the actual rental date. On my way to pick up the car, I called to tell them I would be five minutes late, and they said that was good, because they didn't have a car for me yet. Would I mind coming back three hours later? Yep, I would. So I get there in a couple of minutes and they tell me they're waiting on a bunch of cars from Peoria, but there is one car on the way in that I can have sooner. After a short wait, it turns out to be a minivan, which means a free upgrade. I was happy about that. But when I went to arrange payment, I included an $40 Enterprise gift card from Discover, which I've done many times before, and all of a sudden we have a problem. Now the young man who waited on us at the counter was very polite. But when he didn't know what to do with my Discover Enterprise gift card (which I had put on the online reservation as the site instructs one to do), his supervisor got involved. I don't know his name, so let's call him Mr. Snippy. Mr. Snippy informs me that they can't use the Discover Enterprise gift card this way. After I pointed out that it was done that way at my previous rentals (at two other Enterprise locations on multiple occasions), he coldly informed me that they were ALL doing it wrong. I wasn't going to back down. So after some discussion, Mr. Snippy had me call some number to give them the gift certificate number, but they weren't there and I had to leave a message. So then he called them, and lo and behold, they worked it out and the gift card was applied. This was my first time using this Enterprise location, and I probably won't go back again unless it's the only place I can get the rental I want. I much prefer the Janesville WI location, where everyone is friendly and knows what they're doing. read more

Unwilling to help out with my reservation that was booked through my insurance (Allstate). Not the first time I have issues at this branch either... Other places see it except this location which is the closest to me. Update: As of 9 am LP branch was still unwilling to help me out, even though they called to confirm my rental the night before but i couldn't get it then, because they were closed (After 6 pm). This morning they claimed that they had no vehicles available even though I checked availability at LP location online prior to calling. Had to go through Allstate after they confirmed that they had indeed booked a reservation for me since yesterday afternoon. Suddenly they became interested in helping out and they had vehicles available. I asked to be picked up, but was told I had to get there before 12pm. I'm just gonna walk there now. read more

I've rented cars from this location without any issues whatsoever in the past until today. The staff there had always gone above and beyond expectations to satisfy my needs (except for Katie coincidentally) up until today when I had to experience the worst treatment ever from Katie (Manager). She was rude the minute I walked in. She pointed out that I had to place a $200 deposit right after looking at my bank card to which I did not object. After I handed her my license and bank card, she informed me that I also needed my auto insurance card in addition to the previous two she asked for in order for me to rent a car because I didn't have a credit card. After a couple trips back and forth from my place to enterprise, Katie as well as her coworker were busy on the phone, then when Katie got off the phone a new costumer walked in and she went immediately to take care of her and skipped me. Even after I had been waiting for help for several minutes. I was told they wouldn't rent a car to me even after I produced every piece of documents the manager (Katie) had asked me for earlier. I contacted whom I was told was the district manager (Erika) in regards to my awful experience. After reaching Erika, I was informed that I could not get a rental from them, the reason being that I could not provide proof of residency. I was like what?!!! (I've been renting from them since 2010 always with the same address without any issues whatsoever). I made available to them my Drivers license, state ID, visa business check card with my name and my business name on it, Allstate insurance card... When I explained to Erika (District Manager) about the history between enterprise and myself conducting business in the past from the same address she informed me that she had fired all the former managers recently for not doing what Katie did; without realizing that Katie had been one of those persons that I had rented from in the past. When I asked to be directed to the specific rules, policies, or guidelines that could better explain the reason why I was being denied the rental this time. I was told that I had been told over the phone which is a complete lie because I had no communication with them whatsoever previous to coming in due to the fact that I booked my reservation online. In conclusion, I realize that there a rules but when the rules and guidelines are made to be gray there will never be consistency. I will continue to do business with Enterprise, but I would like for them to keep their staff properly trained to provide costumer relations in a consistent and professional manner. Recently, I made TWO reservations using my phone app. Both times (Two separate weekends), they called to tell me that they didn't have a car for me. This past weekend (Most recent incident), I needed to attend an out of town funeral. On the way to the enterprise office (I had to use Uber because they don't really pick you up), I was called to have them tell me that they didn't have a car for me. I was offered to be put on a list. I already was on a list... It's called a reservation! I missed a FUNERAL. Last year, I booked a full sized SUV for an important law school graduation ceremony... we had three families counting on packing into this thing. They cancelled then also... last minute. I had to drive to Avis over an hour away as we had all planned on travelling hundreds of miles together in the same vehicle. What the hell is going on there? This happened to me three times and it is unacceptable to ruin people's plans. People make plans, make reservations, count on getting to their destinations and count on you guys to fulfill your obligations. Enterprise has cancelled on me three times... Last minute! I'm supposed to be a Plus member... some sort of loyalty program. I have rented A LOT from enterprise. Give me a reason why I should stay loyal and work my way up to becoming a "Silver" member? What will that tier get me... only 1 last minute cancellation a year or something? At this point, I do not recommend Enterprise. read more

Intimidates and pushes you to purchase extra insurance which is very expensive, and completely useless. Then after the fact when I realized that my own car insurance covers the rental car, and the credit card that I used also covers the rental car, they refused to remove the unneeded charges. read more

I have rented a vehicle from this location on several occasions over the last 2-3 years and never had a problem with any of the staff until this last time. On previous occasions all of the staff was friendly, courteous, and polite, not pushy in any sort of way. This time though, the sales person I dealt with, I feel was quite pushy with all of the extra add-ons that they try to sell. He talked me into an upgrade from what I originally reserved, which was fine because I ultimately needed the extra room. He then continued to try to push me into taking all of the extra add-ons of full coverage insurance. I tried to explain to him that I had a limited amount of money for my trip, and that I have insurance that will cover the car in the off chance that something would have happened, but he still pushed the issue. I then told him to just put me back in the smaller vehicle so I could afford the insurance he was trying to push me into taking. Ultimately he kept me in the upgraded vehicle and pushed the lowest insurance package on me to where I finally said whatever. It cost me an extra $100+, which cut into my trip money for my sons' graduation. I did comment to him that this would probably be the last time I rent from them, due to the pushy attitude. I am currently looking around at other companies to rent a vehicle for a trip that I will be taking in July. read more
