I had a very disappointing experience with Enterprise Rent-A-Car - 112-01 Queens Blvd. From the moment I picked up the car and left the location, the vehicle was nothing but a problem. As soon as I drove away, the tire pressure warning light came on showing low air pressure. I immediately called and informed them, and they told me to come back. When I returned, they simply put air in the tire and said there was nothing wrong with it. However, as soon as I left again, the tire warning light came back on. I had to return once more to get a different car. By the time I finally received another vehicle, I was very late picking my son up from school. Unfortunately, the second car also showed that a tire was losing air pressure. I then called customer service and was told I could go to Enterprise Rent-A-Car - 2900 Merrick Rd for a replacement. When I arrived, the representative told me they had no available cars. After going back and forth, they eventually provided me with a vehicle. On top of all this, the car was dirty when I received it, and the radio did not work at all. This is completely unacceptable for a rental vehicle. Overall, the service was unprofessional, the vehicles were poorly maintained, and the way the situation was handled was extremely frustrating. To make matters worse, on Monday I received an email from Enterprise customer service regarding a damage claim related to the tires -- something they are now trying to blame me for. I would not recommend renting from this company. If you are looking for a reliable and safe car rental experience, I strongly suggest finding another option. read more

I've been an Enterprise Plus member for years and have always considered Enterprise my go-to rental agency. To get my family home to Delaware from NYC, we reserved a one-way rental from Enterprise's Greenwich Village branch at 221 Thompson St, chosen for its proximity to our hotel. The evening before pickup, a representative called to confirm the reservation and ensure we still needed the car. I confirmed and thanked him for the courtesy. The next morning, after a 30-minute walk from our hotel--and just one minute away from the rental office--we received a call from the branch manager, Dan Brewer, informing us that they were overbooked, had run out of cars, and our reservation would not be honored. Inside the office, Dan offered no apology or assistance. His justification: "Things like this happen, it's out of my control." When I asked why we weren't notified earlier--especially after confirming the night before--he gave me a blank stare and explained he'd recently moved from Vermont, had only been on the job six months, and was simply following protocol and instructions from his manager, Nick Lala. When we suggested he contact another Enterprise location to help fulfill the confirmed reservation, he refused. He dismissed our suggestions and reiterated that it was out of his control, claiming he had no way to reach other branches. Neither Dan nor his two staff members made any effort to help us resolve the situation. He was dismissive and suggested we "go to the Enterprise airport location--they always have cars." That location is a 40-minute cab ride from Greenwich Village during that hour. When I asked if he could help by at least confirming availability, he said he had no contacts there and couldn't help. We had already checked out of our hotel. Our daughter was waiting in the lobby with all our luggage, relying on this rental to get home. We stepped outside, Googled the LaGuardia Enterprise contact number, and called them ourselves--only to be told they had no cars available. Thankfully, we had already recognized Dan's lack of professionalism and didn't rely on his advice. This experience was unacceptable on multiple levels. Enterprise appears to have no internal protocol for employees to communicate across locations, and in an age of instant connectivity, that is both inefficient and inexcusable. This incident left us stranded without warning, and the lack of professionalism and customer care at this location was deeply disappointing. Dan's dismissive attitude and lack of training reflect poorly not just on him, but on his manager and the company's standards. For a billion-dollar industry not to implement basic communication tools across its network is laughable. Would I rent from this location again? Absolutely not. I now have serious doubts about the reliability of any future reservation with Enterprise. We eventually made it home by renting from Budget at LaGuardia--who, unlike Enterprise, actually had vehicles and treated us with respect. read more

Budget rental car - worst experience ever. Rented a car, next day car was TOTALLY dead, as if someone stole the battery. Called Budget, after 10 frustrating minutes of trying to get a live rep, they scheduled a tow service, which was a 2 hour wait. The tow service never showed up, told us Budget canceled the request. No reason provided. We finally got a tow rescheduled, another 2 hour wait. We had to leave as the location of new car reserved was closing in 30 minutes. When we got there, the location told us they were never informed. They did not have an equivalent class of car so we were downgraded. Budget offered a minimal concession on our bill. Worst car and customer service ever. Do not rent from this company!!! read more

Terrible staff!! An office run by 3 ridiculously dumb girls with no problem solving skills, no people skills & zero customer service skills. I would stay away from this location. I genuinely feel for all the people that have to interact with these individuals. This last experience will be my last experience with Enterprise. Never again. I was told to bring the car to their location but apparently they don't have room for the car and it is MY problem. I was given no help. No assistance. I used this downtown NYC location to return a One-Way Enterprise Car rental and was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful & efficient the staff & organization is at Enterprise Greenwich Village! One knows how the heart of Thompson Street is quite crowed, but the Enterprise Garage was so easy to get to and has a clearly marked entrance, with no line and a convenient roomy spot for stress free Check-In & Out. Before I even turned off the engine a friendly Enterprise representative was there to great me, tablet in hand, already starting the return process. Odel, please excuse my misspellings, was fast, professional and so pleasant to work with! My return took absolutely no time at all and I was confident that all details were in order. Upon leaving I noticed that there was a separate exit for cars, a rarity in NYC, and I was easily on my way. My experience was absolutely lovely and I was impressed with the caliber of excellence, and dare I say, hosting talents of the staff of this Enterprise establishment. I will look to Enterprise Greenwich Village for my future car rental needs and encourage others who want hassle free free rentals to consider this location for theirs. read more

This Enterprise is close to my apartment and is so convenient. The staff are always friendly and just plain fast at getting you in and out on the road. Although this location is way more expensive than renting at an airport, the process and staff are worth paying extra. At the airports, you get long lines, unorganized staff, and just a lot of waiting around...plus a lot of travel on public transport just to get to the airport. Save yourself time and just rent here if you're in the city. read more

Customer service is clearly the mandate here. I was a Hertz Gold member thru work, that was 10 years ago when I started using this Enterprise branch. Their staff is sincerely hardworking, so much so that the operation here feels like a family run business. The staff is genuinely nice and always looks for ways to make everyone happy and considering how I've heard some customers in there act like human bacteria, is all the more impressive that stay dedicated to their work ethic. Shout out to their new manager Joshua, got good shoes to follow from Jessica and Stephan(sp?) before her. Am bummed that location-wise I have to start using the Greenpoint branch more, tho am hopeful they're just as cool. read more

I've rented from Enterprise several times now, and quite a few times from this specific location. Everything has always been amazing until my most recent visit. I arrived to pick up my car on Friday evening and was greeted by an older gentleman at the counter. That was the only nice interaction we had. He asked where I was heading and I stated that I was helping a friend drive to his new home in Orlando. He then proceeded to inform me that it's not unlimited miles since I'm driving out of the tri-state area, even though I had reserved online and it said unlimited miles. I have also done out of state trips a couple of times and have never had issues with unlimited miles, which I informed him of. Before looking into it, he immediately and rudely replied "let me just get the manager" and walked away. He came back and said that the manager will make an exception. He was silent the rest of the check in phase. When I asked for an Ez-Pass, he threw it on the counter. Additionally, rather than walking out with me to the car, he said to go meet it outside and had me take the paperwork outside with me. Not a big deal, but not the service I am used to from Enterprise. I love Enterprise, especially this location since it's conveniently located, and I'm hoping that this terrible service was just a bad day and I will be back. read more

I have used this location only twice so far, but I'm going to come back for every rental from now on despite having a different rental car company closer to me. Everyone in this office is friendly and treats me with respect the moment I walk in the door (and treats me like a human being). Simple, right? Well, there is an Avis around the corner from me where the staff is in a perpetually bad mood, instead of saying "hi" the greeting is "credit card and driver's license", the manager walks around doing nothing, and the customers who have problems are always told, "just relax, we're working on it, sir." And, when I return the car, I'm completely ignored OR I'm greeted with "park over there (with a point)". It is clear people hate their job there. I tried this Enterprise for a rental at Thanksgiving 2015 (they were the only ones who had a car available) - and several things stood out immediately in contrast to my Avis experience: (1) I got a call the day or two before the rental to confirm my pick up time and the type of car - person on the line was very nice, (2) when I walked in the door I was greeted by the manager with "Good morning, how are you?" -- and on a separate occasion the woman checking me in struck up a genuine conversation (can you believe it?) (3) The person checking me in gave me their card and said, "if you have any problems don't hesitate to call me," and (4) the car -- now cars -- are clean and in good shape. Instead of having a dismal experience around the corner at Avis, I walk 10 blocks to Enterprise now - and I was motivated to write this review. This outfit deserves to have a good review written. I don't think there's much to differentiate car rental services except for the customer service. These guys are real. They treat you like a human being. They made an Enterprise customer out of me. I rented a car while my car was getting work done on it. They were able to help me find something that wasnt to expensive. I didnt have to wait long, maybe 30 minutes at most until all was said and done and I was inside the car. The lady who helped me was able to upgrade the car without any other cost. I guess the car I reserved online was taken, so that was nice. The car its self didnt smell and ran just fine. The prices wernt that bad. Would use this place again read more

Great customer service, will try and match competitor's pricing, will guarantee smiling staff, and will bend over backwards even when they're overbooked to try to accommodate. They can be slow about pulling cars around, so allow an extra 15-20 mins when picking up a car, but if it wasn't for that, they'd be 5.5 stars instead of 4.5! read more

I only went to the Village location because it was a short trip and the prices were unusually good that week. When I entered, the first thing I noticed was that they renovated the office--which was one of my complaints in the first review. It looks like a normal, modern Enterprise office now. Yay! The second thing I noticed was the quality customer service. Gone was the hard sell, and they gave me a more expensive car than I had reserved (though not exactly the right choice given my needs, but at least it was clean). So I am impressed--someone is paying attention, and their marketing emphasis on customer service is not just talk. read more

The car they rented me was not cleaned from the previous renter, there were chips and kids toy wrappers littered throughout the car. It also had some pretty big dents and scratches that they noted so I wouldn't be charged upon return, but they "don't care about because it's the city." I get it but these were pretty big. This location does not tell you that they only hold your reservation for 30 minutes after your reserved pick up time. This is not stated in the reservation website, nor any of the email confirmations. This means that if you arrive more than 30 minutes late, there is a huge chance you will not be able to rent a car (despite having a reservation that states that your car is reserved. Again, it does not mention this policy in your email confirmation). In addition to poor communication and unclear policies, I was very disappointed by the customer service at this location. Unaware of this policy, I arrived at 9am (online I reserved a 8am spot). I was told that there were no cars left at this location and all of Manhattan. At the same time, this happened to another customer. The agent and branch manager did not offer help, nor alternative solutions. It was not until the other customer and I pleaded that they call New Jersey locations, that the manager finally called another branch. Her general apathy and excuses were extremely disappointing. I was previously a loyal customer of enterprise, but after this experience - the lack of empathy, the lack of consideration, the general apathy, and the poor reservation policies - I will not be returning to this location. If enterprise reads this, you should improve your customer communication systems and set proper expectations. People rely on your cars to get to important life events (weddings etc) and your disregard for this is upsetting. This experience was truly zero stars. read more

Great experience renting a car for a weekend trip. Could have just been the particular days I was renting, but this was the best deal in town, by far. About $50/day for a compact car. When I arrived, I was greeted by Paul, who just might be the most energetic and helpful car rental agent in the world. This guy is awesome AND he got me out the door in five minutes. The office closes at 1 pm on Saturdays and doesn't open again until 3 pm on Sundays. So you will get charged for an extra day if bring your car back after 1 on Saturday. But, speaking from experience, if you talk to Paul and want to return the car early on a Sunday, he will OK you to bring it back before the office opens and leave it with the parking attendants, free of charge. So you don't have to wait around and fret about street parking if you decide to cut the vacation short. read more

Staff here are unprofessional when you treat them like human beings. Their customer service is really low. I was being charged double the price of the car for the deposit plus the price for one day rental. And we tried asking why so much and the lady there seemed offended why we questioned the price. Rented a full size car a few days ago from here and everything went smoothly. - The location was convenient for me, as I was staying near the village, its right next to the Washington Square Park - I made a reservation online a day beforehand and encountered no problems, no queues on a Monday late morning, just a 5-10min wait - Everything was subsequently wrapped up in 20mins - They went through the checks for scratches before i got in the car - I got a 2.5l Nissan Altima and it was very clean, smelled fine, everything worked well but the seats were not very comfortable for a 6hr drive, especially for the driver. The pickup on the car is just average - i checked the car like crazy to ensure i didn't leave any belongings behind as I have had a bad experience before (in L.A), so no complaints of anything going missing - i returned the car with an extra half tank of gas (miscalculation on my part) and they were nice enough to write down credit for the same for my next visit. Overall good service, no complaints and Ariel the guy who helped me even does backflips. :) I will rent from here again the next time I'm in NYC. read more

I'm loyal to the brand for a reason. And this branch is true to the professionalism you see at Enterprise everywhere. Super cheerful, professional, and speedy. I had an 8am reservation and was driving down Thompson Street by 8:05. Same with the return process. My only issues are with the Sunday return policy (or non-return), and the weird obsession with not going out of the tri-state area (Manhattanites don't even know what that means). If I'm going to Washington or Boston or something, I'm sorry to say I have to go with Avis, who don't have a problem offering unlimited mileage outside of the tri-state. Just sayin. read more
