I rented a car for 24 hours and Zaire was excellent. He apologized for the wait, even though it was for less than 5 minutes. No hassle, not pushy about trying to sell me on extra coverage, just took care of business with politeness and speed. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the car only had one functional speaker (at least that's what it sounded like) and it stopped working after about 2 minutes and never came back on again. Not a big deal for me but if I had a long drive, I would have been disappointed. Other than that, I'm definitely renting from there again since it's so close to my house. read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car if you guys are trying to rent a car on my suggested be do not show up to the Embarcadero office of Enterprise in Oakland I got the worst service there I would try to steal 200 bucks for me. I never wanted to return it, and I kind of find out there's a drug attic. if I would've known that I wanna get my money but I mean I went through stream in the amount of stress trying to get that money back. A car insurance company set up this rental for me. I have to say that I received very excellent customer service. At first, the car I reserved was given to another customer but Adriana made sure I had a fuel economy car at least as good. Also Biruk made sure I made it home safely when I returned the rental car. Both Adriana and Biruk were extremely professional and really went out of their way to offer excellent customer service. I can see that this can be a demanding job when there are stressed out customers but both Biruk and Adriana know how to do it well and make it look easy! I live in Alameda. I was getting my car repaired in Alameda. But why did I choose to go to the Embarcadero location instead of Alameda? Because the Alameda one sucks majorly. I reviewed that location months ago. The literally gave me a filthy car. Anyway, the Embarcadero location was much, much, much better. The man who I encountered twice who works there was incredibly friendly and helpful. The car they rented me was immaculate. The week that I needed this rental went by smoothly because they made renting the car so easy during a stressful time. Would definitely recommend this location anytime over the Alameda one. Was provided a vehicle by Geico from my recent accident. Everything seemed to go well, until I dropped the rental off. I returned the Dodge Journey at 8:00 am this morning at the body shop, picked up my newly repaired car and went along with my day. At approximately 4:50 pm, I get a call from the gentleman who actually helped me about 2 weeks ago, when I picked up the rental (1/31/2018). According to him, there was a scratch on the ROOF of the SUV and that I needed to pay up for the "damages" I caused. First off, this guy was the one who did the initial walk through with me!!! Not at any point did he climb on the SUV's roof to see if there were scratches, so they were probably already on the roof!!! I should've climbed on that roof, hindsight, but dude...I JUST GOT REAR ENDED ON THE FREEWAY! I can barely walk, let alone climb on the roof of this SUV!!! (Check the security footage, Enterprise. You'll see us doing our "inspection" and this will confirm that he never once checked the roof). Second of all, the car was NEVER washed. There was clearly a ring on the windshield from the previous renter who attached their GPS monitor. But...he's very sure that the scratch wasn't there prior!?!?? Did they even CHECK!?? Third of all, the volume button did not work at all!!! Which means they're not inspecting their vehicles ANYWAY! I called about a week later, inquiring about switching vehicles. Stupid me, I got busy with work and never got to it! Last red flag - this guy was very insistent on me getting insurance. I politely declined of course, but what caught me off guard was the fact that he told me to get it, just for a day even...but my rental was for 22 days....hmmm Moral of this story? - Don't rent from here!!! Ever!!! - Manager put me in an SUV to get the highest reimbursement from my insurance - Manager insisting that he will need to "collect my deductible" for this "scratch" on the ROOF OF THE SUV!!! That's "bigger than a size of golf ball" - They don't care about you at all here at Enterprise, just the money they collect from you. Final comments: - I live in OAKLAND, EAST OAKLAND. There are no TREES AROUND TO SCRATCH THE ROOF!!! - I only drove locally with this vehicle, NEVER put ANY LUGGAGE ON THE ROOF. EVER!!! and dude, it's me, myself and I in the SUV, whyyy would I ever need to put shit on the roof??? - These claims are DEFINITELY untrue - Will never, ever recommend this rental company to ANYONE that breathes. read more

Worst business practice ever. Don't rent or do business with Enterprise. I have reserved a 7 passenger vehicle and was confirmed but when I get there it wasn't available and they said they can't do anything about it. They said go ahead and complaint Hung and Derek. They said they can't do anything about it. They said they will give a 12 passenger van but that's not what we want. Horrible. We had a family planned vacation with kids all packed up. Honestly this enterprise location is great. Johnny (the branch manager) did a great job of taking care of me after the location on Broadway failed me at the last minute. The vehicle that I reserved wasn't a car that I felt safe in, and he provided a complimentary upgrade. Biruk is an assistant manager and did an awesome job at properly compensating me since the Broadway location didn't have my reserved vehicle or any vehicle for that matter. As a former Enterprise employee, I was highly impressed with the overall level of professionalism demonstrated by everyone including (Kayla sp?) who originally checked me into the vehicle. I can see why Tyler is the Branch Manager at this location. I just recently moved to Oakland and there are not a lot of how do you say, friendly businesses that treat you like human beings instead of prejudging you on what you're wearing and how you look. I was a bit hesitant on coming to this location in Oakland, but I am glad I did. I had gotten into a car accident recently and was a bit shook from the whole ordeal, so coming to rent a car was just another hassle on my list to take care of. Fortunately I ran into Tyler on Monday 8/5 and he immediately took care of me after having a few issues with Kimberly at the front. I was on a reimbursement method with my insurance for car rentals so I was having a bit of trouble with the reservation. Not only did Tyler save the day and truly made an impact (in a good way) on my experience. He literally saw how upset I was when I thought I couldn't get a car, he rectified the situation and understood that I didn't have all of the information immediately, but knew I would call back and take care of everything, as I did. It's experiences like this that make it memorable and secure returning customers. I went in to pick up a rental that was reserved for me by an insurance adjuster. When I went to pick up the car the associate told me they only had SUV's and nothing that fit my reservation. When I complained to the insurance adjuster, the insurance adjuster told me that Enterprise stated I requested a larger vehicle which is false. What they tried to do is upsell me and lied when I refused. In addition the car they provided me, the next day by some magic, was damaged and I had to turn it back in down the road at another enterprise. read more

Nice rental agency. Branch manager Derek de Vera is especially nice and helpful. However --- I deduct one point for the ridiculous corporate policy of Enterprise which does not allow corporate credit cards. That is ridiculous, and it is a hassle for a lot of customers, including me. We have to go back home to get copies of utility bills, rental invoices, and so on. Why on earth does Enterprise not accept credit cards? Why do they put customers through this hassle? And why do they not post their policy about this, clearly, online? read more

Having the hassle of going through insurance for a rental car, I was not looking forward to the visit. Tyler, the manager at this location greeted me as soon as I walked in and was so attentive to help with my reservation. Rudy helped me inspect the vehicle and answered all my questions and concerns. Bell the Asst Manager assisted me on the day of pickup and return. He was extremely nice and funny, and very helpful. The cars are in great condition and clean. Best of all, they are so generous with giving you great deals! He even helped out with the under-25-fee thing. I spent less than I expected and the process is so fast. I am also really happy they offer Prius' as an option! I drove a total of 980 miles in about 2.5 days and although I got a great deal on the car and it was gas efficient, gas prices are crazy! I highly recommend coming here to rent a car, it's convenient, they have great deals and good cars, but most of all they have the best customer service - completely above and beyond what I expected. read more

Car rental hassle turned into fun! My day started off a little annoying - due to the fact I didn't have a cc that I had credit to use, and needed to use my debit card. Was told that I need to provide a utility bill and either a recent paycheck stub or proof of residence. Since I no longer get paper statements from my creditors, and everything has gone online - getting a copy of my power bill is not easy. Nor do I have a printer at home because I am trying to not leave a heavy carbon footprint. So once I found a way to print it, I called and asked for a ride. Jennifer arrived faster than the 30/45 minute window they gave me I didn't have time to eat my breakfast. Which was a real shock as I had not even put my shoes on either. The Embarcadero Cove location is located near Coast Guard Island in Alameda, on the outskirts of Oakland. Which is a really nice location, the staff are nice, friendly and professional unlike another Alameda location which is horrible. I was offered an upgrade at a very amazing rate, and was out in the car about 45 minutes later not the 1-2 hours at the other location. I am knocking one star off for Enterprise not being an Eco-Friendly company. I am kind of shocked that they generate so much paper waste, where a hand held scanner could check cars in and out with a handheld computer could cut down on the length of time to get a client in the car and increase brand loyalty. read more

Got into an accident around 4pm where I had to shop my car and pick up the rental the same day since it wasnt safe to drive. Knowing that I was going to need another 7 seater SUV I called the nearest Enterprise to the body shop to make arrangements. Xavier ensured me that he was going to make sure to take care of me and can pick me up from the body shop even though it was going to be near their closing time. Once I got to Experience Auto Body I called over to Enterprise to get picked up where Brandon (The branch Manager) personally picked me up and got me checked into my rental ASAP and even dropped me off back to the shop once my car was all done! So So Close to a 5 STAR rating. My boyfriend and I flew in from Florida and were stressing about the car situation. The SFO airport enterprise was wanting to charge us 120 per day so when we woke up the next morning and called Enterprise and they offered us 40 in Oakland we were ecstatic! The rep CONNER was awesome! He drove up to the hills and picked up my boyfriend ( Courtesy of Enterprise of course) . We were able to negotiate an upgrade for a very reasonable price not much more than the 40. We rented for 4 days and the Altima was very clean and my boyfriend said smooth to drive. I was the navigator with the GPS of course. The only reason I minus a star is because our flight left at midnight friday and the closed at 6pm. We asked them if we could drop it off at the SFO airport and they said yes for a $125 fee. =( We had to have our friends meet us at the car place at 5pm on a friday in crazy traffic and drop us off at the airport 5 hours early then spend another 60 bucks taking the Bart train back into town to kill time before our flight so it was more of an inconveniene. We just feel like they could have worked that out better or negotiated a deal but they didn't budge. Other then that..... I do highly recommend them! The service was awesome...Conner was Great... and the car worked perfect! read more

I initially booked a rental with the Alameda Enterprise, then read the Yelp reviews and was like, "No f***ing way!" So I looked around a bit further on Expedia and saw that the Embarcadero Cove Enterprise had the same, crazy-low rental price, so I cancelled with Hellamedaprise and went here instead. SO glad I did, too. We reserved a mid-sized SUV for two days to go down to Santa Cruz for the night. Alicia helped us out and was great! I'm self-employed so I don't get pay stubs, but they were mad cool and let me use my 1099s and deposited client checks in lieu of them. I also provided a Kaiser monthly bill for good measure, and whaddya know, we were all set for rental! Alicia hooked us up with a sparkling clean, nearly brand new Nissan Rogue for about $25/day less than the Oakland Airport Enterprise was offering. The trip pretty much sucked ass from the time we got to SC until we left that godforsaken place. But traveling in that smooth, high-riding vehicle felt pretty darn good. So good, in fact, that we drove out to Monterey the next day and spent the day at the beach! Definitely going to this location from now on, whenever I need a car rental. My only gripe is that their cars are all "pet free," meaning no pets allowed. So if we ever did need to go somewhere with our mutts, we'd probably have to rent from a different agency. :/ read more

I'm all for the people at this location. Any time I need a rental, I try to go to this location because they're a) professional, b) efficient, and c) kind. Brandon always takes care of me and listens when there's an issue or anything like that. Esse is great also, and super friendly. I had to come to this location after I was super put off by the manager at the Alameda Blanding location just a few days ago. Esse took care of me and put me in a Camry that was clean and ready to go with a full tank so I could get on with my day. When I returned it, she gave me a ride to the repair shop, even though they were about to close and busy with a couple other customers. Thank you guys for the awesome customer service! read more

I'd give this particular location(and also the Oakland Airport Location) 6 Stars if I could. This is my first car rental experience and I gotta say I wasn't looking forward to it. As far as I knew most car rental agencies are pretty greasy and provide unsavory service. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. Full disclosure, I had quite the opposite experience when I visited the Broadway location. The woman acting as the Branch Manager had an arrogant and rude demeanor. Yes, she delivered bad news and I didn't like the news but it was the way in which the message was delivered which turned the whole experience sour. I am a Sales manager myself so I have plenty experience with being the bearer of bad news and most importantly doing it with respect and containing the situation. Anyway, enough of that. Things took an entire 180 once I decided to shop around and ended up at the Embarcadero location. A Mr. Derek de Vera provided excellence service and went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. I came in a bit defensive from my previous experience but luckily he was patient and socially intelligent(Invaluable skills in service) enough to diffuse the situation. So well in fact, that I signed back into my little used Yelp account to tell folks about it. You guys have a valuable asset in Derek out there in Embarcadero and I'm sure he will continue to improve your reputation of providing great service as well as customer service. read more

I was directed to a different enterprise location by my insurance but they did not have any rentals. I looked up a different Location and luckily found this one. A young man named Oscar picked me up from my home to take me to the location. He was really nice and made great conversation. I was greated by a young lady at the front desk she processed my paper work she was okay. After a month i drove to the location and Derek processed my paper work easily and rapidly. He was really nice with amazing customer service. If i ever need a vehicle for a getaway weekend i will definitely come to this location. Tyler, Raul and the team at Enterprise on the Embroiderer in Oakland are awesome. My Jeep was being repaired and this is where I went for my rental. Tyler was super friendly and accommodating. I really wanted a VW but they didn't have any so I got a Hyundai. My insurance was covering it and it was just to get back and forth to work, etc, so it didn't really matter. A few hours later, Tyler called me to say that they had received word that this model has a recall on it and he needed me to bring it back in. Not a huge deal - I had to leave work a bit early but it was on the way home. When I arrived they were super apologetic for the inconvenience and Tyler put me into a Volvo with all the bells and whistles. I don't have seat warmers or Sirius in my Jeep so it was really nice to have that for a week! It was super nice, and even a bit intimidating since I am not used to such a large vehicle. (He promised if a VW came in he would call me and I could exchange, LOL) Anyway, the service and vibe at this Enterprise location is great and I highly recommend them if you are in need of a rental. read more
