One star -- Incredibly poor service and dishonest management. I had a confirmed reservation for a Monday at this Enterprise location, but when I arrived, the manager, Abel Castrejon, told me there were no cars available. No apology, no effort to help -- just a smug, dismissive attitude. He told me I could come back Thursday instead, which is outrageous when you've made a reservation. What made it worse? The parking lot was full of cars. When I asked about them, Abel told me those were for future reservations and he couldn't give me one -- even though I had a reservation in hand. Only after I pretended to call corporate did he miraculously produce a lower-tier, dirty car. I accepted it out of necessity. He assured me I'd receive a "generous" discount for the inconvenience, but that turned out to be a measly 5%, which didn't even make up the price difference between the car I reserved and the one I was given. I've now spent over a month trying to reach someone at Enterprise customer service. No responses. No resolution. Nothing. Just silence. Enterprise completely failed me -- from the local office to the national customer support team. Avoid this location if you expect your reservation to mean anything or want even basic customer service. read more

Olivia, Isaiah, and Johnny are the Enterprise staff we interacted with when we rented twice from the St. Michael's Santa Fe branch, but we observed the other equally competent staff throughout both rental experiences. The staff is a very effective team with great customer service. Our two rentals were more complicated than usual and required special attention by the staff. The best word I can use to describe them is that they care about the customer. I will go back to this location because they are competent and just really nice people who are easy to work with. This location is a full on disaster. After making a reservation online, I went to pick up my vehicle. Seven people in the lobby, no one behind the counter. Two customers in the lobby waiting for help had returned for a second time that day as they had been notified their reservation wasn't available the first time they arrived. Great sign. The unhelpful man behind the counter tells me they can't honor my reservation, which I had in hand with confirmation numbers, yet they had two vehicles in my class that were reserved for other people. What made their reservation more important or honorable? Couldn't tell me. The man proceeded to even less useful as he shrugged and did nothing to help find alternates. New Mexico is notorious for bad service but this is bottom of the barrel. Enterprise should automate these centers, AI is so much more efficient than bad help. read more

We (myself, wife and another couple that were handicapped) rented a passenger van at Albuquerque Airport for the start of a Road Trip to visit Taos and Santa Fe. All was going well until we were traveling the "high road" back to Santa Fe. We got a flat tire and barely made to the Santuario de Chimayo parking lot. I was shocked to find that our rental did NOT have a spare tire or jack. The area is so remote that there is NO cellular service. The person at the Welcome Office allowed us to use their landline to notify Enterprise for emergency assistance. Enterprise said they would send a tow truck and notify Uber to come pick us up. However, since it is so remote it would take approximately 90 minutes. We called for status after waiting an hour and were given conflicting instructions. We were told that when the tow truck arrived we had to request an Uber on a link that was sent. We told them we were using an analog landline and did NOT have cellular service. The tow truck showed up in the time given and left us without a vehicle. To make this part short, we were told on three (3) subsequent calls that an Uber was on the way and the wait time was 30 minutes. 3.5 hours later STILL no Uber, it was starting to sprinkle and our access to landline service was over at 5pm, when the location closed. Finally, after a 4th & final terse discussion with Enterprise we were told an Uber was en route and take 30 minutes. It turned out to be cab with barely enough room for luggage and 4 passengers. 5 stressful hours after the initial call we made it to our hotel. The following day, I called the Enterprise office to share the situation and ask them about a replacement vehicle that would be big enough for 4 people. I reminded them 2 were handicapped. The agent I talked to was professional, however, pretty much impotent to resolve this so I asked him to escalate the situation to upper management. He indicated that he needed time so we agreed that he would call me after 3.5 hours with status. I never heard from him so I called and was told that there was NOTHING they could do. I asked him about a mini van from Albuquerque Airport and he Indicated that because of the Balloon Festival there weren't any vehicles. I told him the festival had 3 days ago. Again I stressed the situation and again he said there nothing they could do. I lost my composure and told him that, "was f-ed up" and asked to speak to a manager. The agent shared that he did not appreciate my language (1 word), completely ignored my dilemma and hung up on me. So as of today, 3.5 days without a vehicle and NO response from Enterprise, yet they knew my situation...and now that I have cellular service...crickets ... not a single call, text or email regarding the situation. We will be returning to Albuquerque Airport for an early flight and I had to reserve transportation on a shuttle for 4 adults (2 that are handicapped). RENTERS BEWARE.... They do not stand by their mission statement!!! read more

This branch is one of the best I have experienced, not only in NM but in my travels all over the country. The manager Brandon Woodlee has been such a blessing while I am traveling for work and in a rental thru ERAC during a busy job posting. I travel all over the country and rent cars year round. I have rented from 3+ different companies in Santa Fe and this branch has been the epitome of customer service and goes out of their way to ensure my rental experience is a positive one. I would highly recommend this branch if needing to rent a vehicle while in Santa Fe. I have been in a rental here for the last 4 months and will continue to rent here during my stay for more months. On July 3, 2025, I went to pick up a vehicle I had reserved at the Enterprise office located at 1611 St. Michael's Dr., Santa Fe, New Mexico. The Branch Manager, Abel Castrejon, looked up my reservation and asked for identification as well as a credit card. I informed him that I had a second driver and provided her identification. He then asked for proof of insurance, so I went to my truck to retrieve it. Mr. Castrejon also inquired about where we both worked. When I asked why this information was necessary, he stated it was Enterprise policy. I questioned whether Enterprise would refuse to rent to me if I were unemployed, to which he replied that they would not. He then asked my second driver for a second phone number, but she explained that she did not have one. He informed her that because of this, he could not rent to her. Throughout this interaction, Mr. Castrejon was very arrogant and controlling. He attempted to argue with me, and despite my request for him to stop, he continued. When I mentioned that I had a witness to the conversation and threatened to report him to corporate, he finally ceased his attitude. I believe Mr. Castrejon treated me poorly because I am a woman and a person of color. After checking the vehicle, he returned to apologize for his behavior and mentioned that someone from Enterprise would contact me to discuss the incident. However, to this day, I have not received any call. Due to Mr. Castrejon's attitude, he ruined the rest of my day and affected my July 4th weekend. I keep reliving the incident in my mind. To top off my rental experience, Mr. Castrejon assigned me a car that had a terrible odor -- a smell of urine. This was the worst rental experience I have ever encountered, and I've never been treated this way by other rental companies. I plan to share my complaint online to inform others about how Enterprise treats people of color. I will not be renting from Enterprise in the future. Enterprise has a sign in their office that reads "Customer satisfaction is our top priority". This is a false statement and needs to be removed. read more

I truly never leave bad reviews, but this service was so disappointing and thoughtless. This company wasted my time. Even though I made an appointment at an established time, when I arrived, I sat there for about 30 minutes before the staff realized they didn't have enough cars for the customers. They had to drive to the other branch to pick up more cars and left every customer sitting in there alone. When they finally got back with the cars, I still waited another 2 1/2 hours. They finally went to pick my car up and when they got back with it, they had to clean and service it. When my rental car was ready, the gas was low, the card machine wasn't working, and they took my signature and all my insurance information after the fact, when they could've been taking it in the three hours that I was sitting there waiting. After all of this, I'm being told I only have the car for another three days. I was told by my insurance company and the employees that I would have it for 60 days. Due to the lack of communication and information yesterday, I am left without a car and don't know what to do. After waiting for three hours, I was not informed about how long I would actually have the car. This was a very negative experience, and I highly discourage anyone from going to this location. read more

The manager has a habit of overselling cars and not carrying who gets screwed when they come to pick up. Which might not be the end of the world if he did his job and contacted the other location to see if they had a car but instead instantly goes to being super rude and toxic and sarcastic. I never write bad reviews, but the public needs to be forewarned. Nothing is more stressful, than to receive a call from Enterprise the morning I was scheduled to pick up a reserved vehicle to tell me they are overbooked and don't have a vehicle available, then to offer to put me on a wait list. What, a wait list, really! In this day and age, a company as big as Enterprise should have reservation system that is capable of managing a fleet of vehicles and not give the false assumption to the consumer who received a rental confirmation that a vehicle is available. This caused a tremendous hardship. I'll never rent from Enterprise. The public expects better than this. read more

I was recently sideswiped and had to have my car in the body shop for a couple of weeks. Mike, the new manager at this location, went out of his way, as did his staff, to be sure I had a care that fit my luxury real estate showing business. For fun I tried a Mustang convertible, but honestly it wasn't a great fit after driving a Q7. When I called him to very sheepishly ask if we could do a trade, he found an Audi for me. The service was always quick, the staff was courteous, and the paperwork was flawless. If you make a reservation, please be sure you pick your car up at the right location. I made this mistake and I think that's where some of the other bad reviews come from. In my case, it didn't matter. Mike and crew still took very good care of me. My car has to go back in a few days for a touch up. I'll be calling Mike again. read more

Horrible! Pricing is ridiculous. $75/day Car was clean. Got charged for hail damage (WTF?!?!) How is a customer held responsible for weather "damage"? They were the only rental place in town that had availability. Would NEVER use them again Lezza was horrible. I Put a reservation 2 months in advance and showed up at my arranged time and date to pick up the vehicle and this location did not have what I reserved. The associate was wanting me to upgrade to the next class instead of calling the other location to see if they had a car similar to what I reserved. Plus they wanted a $300 deposit on top of the $350 it cost me to rent the vehicle. You would think that they would of called to say sorry we don't have the vehicle you reserved but they didn't. I get there and they tell me they have NO vehicles available and that none will be available for SIX DAYS. What horrible customer service! Why not just update your available cars to NONE? Excellent prompt service with a smile. This location is located in the very busy downtown area. Pick up from our hotel located a few miles away was fast. Although they didn't have the car we wanted, they did not hesitate to give us the upgrade. We were also allowed to drop off at the airport Santa Fe airport with no extra charges. Just remember the Enterprise parking spots are located in the dirt and not in the nice paved spaces next to the terminal. There was no closing paperwork and the charges were not accurate, but a quick phone call remedied any discrepancies quickly. Do check your paperwork! read more

I read several negative reviews on this Enterprise location and feel compelled to share my excellent experience. I needed a one way rental on short notice and called this location. I normally use the Costco Car Rental Service, but since this was a last minute emergency rental I couldn't book online until the next day. We were immediately greeted upon entry and assured that we would be taken care quickly. There were several customers checking in, but our wait was minimal. Nikki took care of us an she was very professional. Our car was waiting outside for us so immediately after completing the paperwork we went outside for a walk around and instruction on key features of our rental. The entire process from start to finish was only about 15 minutes, and Nikki gave us her card Incase we experienced any issues with our rental. I should also mention that our one way rental from Enterprise was about $1000 cheaper than their competitor who tries harder. Excellent experience for me. read more

They were short on cars and had several angry & inconvenienced folks waiting in the lobby for their cars that they had reserved. I decided to be very patient and wait, even though this inconvenience was forcing me to miss the entire morning of the event I traveled to Sante Fe for. Once I finally was put in to a car, they discounted my rate and covered my fuel to make up for the trouble. I felt appreciated and cared for, good job guys! read more

If you enjoy being treated as if customer service doesn't exist, I'd rent a car from Enterprise. My husband and I were offered a rental through our insurance from Enterprise. We went and received a 2019 Ford Edge Titanium. It was a beautiful little SUV for the time we had it. Repairs on our vehicle were slated to last a week or so. After we returned, we returned the rental vehicle first, so as to expedite the process. When we arrived to pick up our vehicle, the repair shop had one small thIng that wasn't up to par, and they offered to fix it, quoting us another day for pickup. Immediately I i called and advised the worker at Enterprise of the issue and he was more than happy to help. We returned to the office to get what we thought would be our vehicle, however they took it to get serviced. They offered us a small pickup truck. Upon inspection of the vehicle, a number of issues including scratches, dents and other cosmetic issues were brought to the attention of the employee. He reassured us that everything was noted and would not be our issue to pay for. We took the vehicle for less than 24 hours and returned it to a quite rude branch manager, a female by the last name of Reyes. She began giving my husband, who speaks little english, a hard time about the vehicle. She even moved it to the compound in a hurry, without wanting to let me see the "damage" that she wanted to charge us for. I asked a couple of times before she actually brought out the vehicle. Finally she brought it out, and stated that we must have had "fun" in the vehicle. Mind you, mid-winter in New Mexico causes roads to be salted and cindered, and not every road is paved. She continues with complaining about this dent in the bumper, which I remembered specifically from the day prior. I attempted to explain to her that the dent was there, and was reassured it was not going to be our issue. She pulls out her tablet and says "Nope you've already signed". I took a photo during the encounter, showing the damage. It has rust on it that she tried to wipe off with her finger, but it wouldn't come off. I advised her that rust doesn't appear in a day. She continued to demean both my husband and I, at one point even looking at us both, and stating "I thought we are all supposed to be like family" alluding to our relationship. By this time I'm almost in tears. I walk out to my parents vehicle, and talk to them. Then upon returning to the interior of the store, the female accosted me by stating I had been harassing her, and I was not allowed in her store, and kept yelling at me. We left, given not much of a choice. As we were picking up our vehicle at the body shop, I showed the photo to the appraiser, and they advised me that the rust accumulation in the dent would not have occurred overnight, even with the weather as it was. It would have taken a week or more to get to that point. Currently we are being harassed by Enterprise to pay for a new bumper to the sum of $550. If I could give Enterprise any less stars, I would. Please save yourself the hassle and go with any other company. read more

Excuses and more excuses our car was sidelined in an accident State Farm and this car rental crap store work together to deny a rental so the insurance is not having to do the right thing! The morning I went to get this rental that State Farm agent said was being held for me that morning I'm called no vehicle in stock this is on Saturday won't have any till Thursday! I call the reservation number they say they have a car in Albuquerque were in Santa Fe we pay for a ride from people we know gas and their time get to Albuquerque they have no cars even though one guy claims it was there had to to get a ride back!!! Out of pocket 125 dollars no rental can't drive the car we have stuck at home wife asked a co worker for a ride gave her gas money. To top it off the guy who wrecked into us his fault not his car the owner a lady claimed she was driving but we had exchanged info driver's license State Farm claimed they were investigating claiming their insured driver on policy was driving sent over the guys license their story changed! But what I do see is rental companies and insurance companies take care of one another sad never would rent from the Santa Fe or Albuquerque enterprise places!!! Please CYA when it comes to renting a car here. Take a picture/video of amount of gas in the car. Their refueling charge of $4.20 is crazy when the state rate (much less Santa Fe rate) doesn't go that high. There is a gas station across the street so the rational cannot be because they have to pay an employee to put gas in the vehicle. There were 4 full bars indicating gas when I rented it and returned it. Somehow they figured it was shy .6 gallons when it was returned and charged me $2.52. If they do this to the 10 cars that are returned that day; Enterprise makes $25.00 doing nothing. They have never rented me a car with a full tank. What a great gimmick: you either put more gas in than the original amount; or you are charged and chances are you won't notice it on your invoice. Either way they are getting free gas or more money. Brilliant Enterprise! As the saying goes; "It is easier to take $1.00 from 1,000 people; than to take $1,000 from one person". I have been charged this erroneous refueling charge on two rentals. I went ahead and cancelled my rental for 2 weeks in September. read more

However, when my flight landed at home I had a voicemail from Janelle at this branch to check in. I called back, and Joshua made everything right. I hope I didn't sound too agitated on the phone. So after He acts like He's doing me a huge favor by even speaking with me before 6, I plunked down the visa card I used for the deposit with HOTWIRE and mr rude says we don't take debit only credit cards.
