Worse customer service from a rental service. Anna and the guy up front is terrible. Does not know how to work customer service at all. Very rude, kept telling us that there was no way we can get coverage on a vehicle since we had liability only. Then when I showed up they said that it had to be 21 and over. They couldn't provide any paper work that states that requirement is a must and basically kicked us out because they were all in a rush to leave. They came out the shop laughing and giggling because they were excited to leave. The manager denied giving out the business cards. I have videos of everything that went down if needed. read more

i'm not going to leave a too bad review (but it's going to be kinda bad) my family only has 1 car (an SUV), and it's currently in the shop (so it can pass its emission test and get other things done). well, we needed a car because i have to get to and from work. we called earlier today to get an estimate on how much it would cost. we asked for a van or SUV, we didn't get either of them. we got a normal car (a Nissan but idk the model of it). so, that was a star knocked off. now, here is where it gets bad. my father doesn't have a credit card, and we put the reservation under his name. which is fine, nothing they can do about that. while on the phone with them and getting an estimate, they told us that anyone who was going to drive the rental would have to be aged 25+. now, this is where we were screwed by the company. when we went in, we had a fairly nice gentleman, i don't remember if it was a male or female we talked to on the phone. he told us we couldn't put my dad on the car as a driver (i'm not allowed to be on the car because i'm not of the age of 25), and that's when we started getting upset. we were told on the phone that all drivers have to be at least 25 with a valid license. but when we got there, they said it wasn't the case and it wasn't true. that's why there is 2 points knocked down. this company has no idea what they are doing when it comes to sales. i wouldn't come back here unless i ABSOLUTELY have no choice. no, my name is not the one who rented the car, but i am part of the family who rented the car. they need to get their company in check and train everyone right. i'll stick with Budget or my cars dealership for car rentals and Enterprise will be my last resort read more

My car had a flat on Saturday morning, and I couldn't get to an MRI appointment, so I booked a car online with Enterprise. I called the Enterprise number for a pickup as per the website, and the agent told me they don't have the staff for a pickup on Saturdays but would cover up to $10 of a car service. Fine. The trip was $11.37 and they applied a percentage discount to my rental equal to $10 as promised. On Monday night I dropped off the car, and they wouldn't bring me home. On Saturday they said they can't pick me up because they don't have enough staff on the weekends and offered me the credit. Fine. But now it is NOT THE WEEKEND anymore. So Monday night I drop off the car and asked for a ride home, and the same guy said, "Oh, I'm sorry, we don't give rides anymore because of Covid." Of course I flew into a rage because J was completely misled on Saturday. I said, "But you are the SAME guy on Saturday that said we can't pick you up on the weekends because we don't have enough staff, implying that you DO give rides on weekdays!" To which he responded, "Why would you think that?" To which I said, "If you NEVER gives rides at all EVER, THEN WHAT WAS ALL THAT STUFF about staff levels on the weekend?" And then he just stared at me blankly. What is WRONG with people???? Even their website still talks about pickup and drop-off. And he says, "Well, I don't control the website." So I said, " You sure controlled what was coming out of your mouth on Saturday, telling me all this stuff about the special staffing no-pickup on the weekends, when the real response should have been "We don't DO pickups or drop-off any more because of Covid!" And he says, "Well, I can't give you credit for a car service because we already closed out the ticket." Hello, you knew you needed to pick me up on Saturday, so why wouldn't you inquire about my way home BEFORE closing the ticket. Then he just started treating me like I'm a crazy customer when he was the one who misled ME! I have always found the fake "professionalism" of Enterprise, and tonight, when it came right down to it, it was clear that those neckties mean nothing -- they are thoughtless, inconsiderate, and so busy rattling off their trained and rehearaed lines that they don't even know what they are saying. That crack about, "Well, I don't control the website" should get that manager fired all by itself. COVID has been going on for 10 months plus now, and Enterprise would be held RESPONSIBLE for the content of its website. Ridiculous company and even more ridiculous personnel. read more

I am writing this update out of respect for Phil, one of the Regional Managers for Enterprise. I also want to Thank Yelp for being here. Without Yelp this wouldn't have happened! I am happy to say I was able to get my money back after that horrible rental experience. I hope that my complaint is taken seriously enough to get all 3 businesses involved in reworking their communications and contracts with each other. It might be my responsibility to research car rentals for a vacation. However, if my car is rear ended on the side of the street, and I have to bring it in for repairs, I shouldn't have to do extensive research on how car rental companies work. Typically I use Avis, but this time I found a better rate with Enterprise, so I gave them a try. I needed a rental as my car was being repaired by a local auto body shop. I was informed that I needed to call an hour prior to my reservation for an Enterprise pick-up to take me to their office for the rental. I called around 12pm since I had a 1pm reservation and they informed me that someone would pick me up around 1pm. A notification that they were running late would have been nice, but someone came around 1:20 in a car that had pretty badly stained back seats...so it was my hope that wasn't my rental! When I arrived at the office, it was very unkept and Aaron was the person helping me. Of course he informed me that the stained seat car was in fact my rental and there was nothing else available. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, he said "stains happen...do you want me to cancel your reservation?" Wow. Great customer service. So I asked where was the store manager and would you believe that he was the manager?! If I had any other options at that moment, I surely would have canceled, but I didn't. So, Aaron proceeded to print out my receipt and I realized the price was incorrect. So I gave him my reservation number and he said "that's not your reservation." Really?! I have the reservation information right here on my phone! So he gives me the correct price and ultimately a free upgrade (I guess someone else returned a car so I didn't have to take the stained Corolla). As I'm waiting for the new car to be cleaned, another woman working with a different associate storms in and was upset about the car she reserved not being available. When she asked what he was going to do about her situation, he rudely said "there's nothing I can do." Aaron, the manager, doesn't try to help her either. When it was time for me to return the car, I thought that they could easily drop me off at the auto body shop where my car was. Nope. When I called, they indicated that my auto body shop was four miles from their location and they will only take customers two miles!! Sheesh! I will say that the new rental I received was nice (with the exception of the dirty floor mat) and that when I returned the car it was a smooth process...but I'll take a pass on Enterprise in the future. They have to improve their customer service! read more

I called at 1:00 pm to make a pick-up apointment at the shop where my car was being fixed. Enterprise customer service recommended a 2 hour lead time so I made my pick up for 3:30. This is a company that constantly advertises "WE'LL PICK YOU UP". I called at 4:00 since my appointment was for 3:30 and was told that the driver is on the way. 4:40 and still no pick-up. Finally the driver shows up at 4:55. I was so upset that I cancelled my reservation from this branch and called another location but of course they all have their own territories so I could stiil rent from another branch provided that I find a way to get to their location. I ended up using Uber to get to another location. Aaron the manager was not even apologetic about the delay. Horrible experience with this location. The manager of the shop that was fixing my car tells me of customers he had who experienced the same bad service. Apparently this location changes managers quite often but service stays the same. This location is a joke. I was sent here reluctantly, after Loeber Motors (Jeff & Mike) had a mishap with my scheduled loaner at their dealership, as I received service on my company vehicle. I really wish I would have just received my loaner vehicle as promised to me when I scheduled my appointment weeks in advance, so yes - Loeber you are partially responsible for this fiasco. This location is tiny. The office is dirty. The selection is abysmal. This message is for Aaron at this particular Enterprise location. You put me in a Buick Enclave, and though I'm wasn't thrilled, I took it, as I wasn't trying to impress anyone...although this is hardly what I'd receive as a loaner normally from the dealership; fine. You tell me before I accept the keys to the vehicle that "the gas meter in this car is broken, and I just filled-up the tank myself earlier that morning, so I know the tank is full, but as I said...the gas meter is broken, so worry not that it 'appears' as though the tank is empty, because it's not". OK!? I Aaron's words on faith since he seemed confident & convincing enough, but something struck me as odd, because how/why would the gas meter be broken on a newer vehicle? I told Aaron I wouldn't accept liability in topping off the tank for them when I returned the vehicle later that day because if there was no unit of measure this would make no sense for me to assume responsibility. So he 'waived' the fuel charge on my contract copy, based on sound logic. Since I was driving locally, I was reassured I'd be fine. About (5) five miles out...the car dies (even though every bone in my body wanted to put gas in the vehicle due to all the warnings I was receiving while driving...which was unnerving & uncomfortable, especially whilst driving an unfamiliar car). I spent the next (3.5) three-and-a-half hours stuck stranded until AAA roadside assistance showed up with (1) one gallon of gas (a half hour became an hour, followed by two, then three, etc...), rather than the (5) five gallons we requested. At first I called Aaron obviously upset, but rather than acknowledging his mistake and apologizing, he went on to say "that's impossible, because I filled the tank with gas myself" and had me check to see if the headlights were working after asking me to step out of the car and look, although I told him all the electrical components seemed to work just fine inside the vehicle. Guess what? The car 'was' OUT OF GAS, and the AAA serviceperson said "the guy who told you the meter was broken was an idiot." The car was simply out of gas, plain & simple. So I missed (3) three appointments on Tuesday September 15th, 2015, including a home closing for my sister, and the best Aaron could say was "hey, I guess you'll have to push your appointments back." What kind of customer service is this!? Furthermore, only once I called the office a couple more times to check the status of AAA's roadside request, Aaron made himself out to be too busy to take my call and speak to me himself. GOD forbid you take the time out of your day, the same way you sabotaged my clock. This was unprofessional and ignorant to say the least. I hope the karma you threw my way, comes right back to bite you in the ass. Missing my appointments caused a domino effect, that led into the next business day...and I didn't receive so much as an apology, or a sincere one for that matter. Only once he realized how ridiculous this situation was he offered me a 'discount' for future rentals form his location only. OK, no. Never renting from you as a person, or from this poorly run location. This makes for the third time Enterprise f*cked me, and it will likely be the last... I had just enough gas to make it to the dealership, after complaining to them about what happened. The last thing I was going to do was provide them a professional courtesy in dropping-off the rental at the Enterprise location (now that they were closed, as it was past 6:00 pm CST) only to take a cab to the dealership. What a mess. I hope you get fired for your lack of good old fashioned common logic, though my first impressions of you were that you were a decent guy. To get the best deal, call this location directly -- they offer some good offers when you speak directly to them. Had to rent a car because mine went to the body shop. First agent told me to just leave the vehicle at the shop and that Enterprise would pick it up. However the body shop refused when I arrived because enterprise "doesn't know what they are doing, do not pick up the vehicles on time, and they can't be responsible." I called Enterprise and the second agent I felt goes on a long winded explanation about leaving the car with the shop, I have to cut them off twice to get a word in edgewise and explain the situation. They tell me that then I have to drop off the car and "we'llcall you an Uber." I ask why I can't just leave them the key and they pick up the vehicle, the agent tells me they cannot do that. This went back-and-forth and they told me I will be liable if the vehicle is damaged should I leave it there. I don't understand why they can't pick up the vehicle if I leave them the key but they CAN pick up the vehicle if I leave the key with the body shop. The agent credits me back $10 for the Uber, which they apparently forgot to call for me. The Uber would have actually been more than what they credited me and I got a ride instead but no one is compensating me for my time and the appointment I was late to because of an unfulfilled promise from Enterprise. And, to boot, the agent had a condescending attitude and wouldn't let me speak unless I forcibly interrupted them while on the phone. Not a good experience at all. And, to be honest, I would not be leaving this negative review had they not been talking down to me on the phone. read more

The agents at this location are quite pleasant - BUT THEY ARE MISINFORMED ABOUT I-PASS. DO NOT think that your personal I-Pass can be transferred to a rental car. Enterprise should tell their customers this information. (Hertz tells their customers that their personal I-Pass does not always work in a rental). I have confirmed this with the IL Toll Authority. Enterprise is giving bad information to its customers which results in hefty fees for the renter. In order to rectify a hefty fee from Enterprise, be prepared to spend days on the phone with their seemingly unmanned Lombard offices. I have contacted the Attorney General and local elected officials about this "scam". This is easily avoided by NOT bringing your personal I-pass into a rental car. There is no guaranty that it will work. Bring cash money in all rental cars (unless the rental company provides a transponder). read more

I've been renting cars from various locations across the city. I chose this location because it was the lowest price I could find. Upon returning my holiday rental, I asked about another rental I had a week later at a different location. The manager, Nick, asked me to move that rental to their location and he would match the price. When I picked up my rental yesterday he gave me a free upgrade. I don't normally get so jazzed about a car rental place, but all the gents in the office were nice and made genuine conversation. I highly recommend this location for rentals. Thanks Nick! read more

Watch this place! I was involved in an accident and my insurance set up the rental. I confirmed everything with my insurance and with Enterprise including the price and when I got there, the price was changed!!! I called a few days later for a car in my price range, I returned the car but they still charged me at the same rate. They never took responsibility. This is our go-to Enterprise location. After they closed the Clark Street location I was worried that we wouldn't get the service and availability we've become use to. We both travel a lot for work and it's nice to be recognized as a regular and have some perks from corporate as a result. I say all of this fully knowing that the employees here often change. This is a little location with big customer service. I've always had great service and great people helping me at Enterprise. Kudos to them. I just got picked up by the their porter, who was fabulous. Also, the manager was so helpful and sweet. My body shop is not even a block away but they came to pick me up and transfer my personal items from my car to the rental. Location and service, these guys do it right. Like I said small location but big service, they asked if I wanted a larger car, Grand Am G6, and I said sure, she had the porter take me to the dealership down the street on McCormick to get the car I wanted as my rental. Good pickup and drop off. People are nice, but they need to check the fluid levels in vehicles before renting them. Took a road trip and noticed that I was low on washer/radiator fluid, despite being told by the agent that everything was full beforehand. Other than that, the experience was good. I roll through here on a semi-regular basis, but my last visit was OK at best. I made a reservation online, which I usually do, and walked over to pick up my car. Enterprise will pick you up, but I need the exercise! Anyway, I get there and encounter a few new people at the counter (not unusual, I think they rotate staff). I was greeted promptly, my contract was ready within minutes and they told me they had a car coming in shortly. 40 MINUTES LATER, the car arrived without much explanation or concern on their part. Not sure what happened or why, but that's not the service I'm used to here. I'm still a customer, but not a fan of sitting around when there were other cars you could have given me to get me out of there. read more

I've rented a car 3 times from this location and have only had fantastic experiences. They get the job done and hold true on their promises. Twice, I've been given a car upgrade at no additional cost, and when I needed to keep the car an extra day on two separate occasions, they didn't raise rates on me, even if their advertising said otherwise. They're the cheapest guys around, and the clerks are very nice and helpful. Using a credit card will save you a lot of hassle, plus most credit cards offer rental insurance, so you can save on the over priced insurance that Enterprise offers. read more

I booked an Intermediate class car for Friday 10/14 to Monday 10/17 from the Enterprise branch at Lincolnwood (3209 Howard St, Skokie, IL 60076). The reservation time was for noon. My experience with this reservation have left me convinced that Enterprise service is the worst compared to the rest: 1. Pick up did not turn up I called for pick-up from the Howard red line station and Josh from Enterprise told me that he will pick me up in 10 minutes. The pick up never came. I called back after 40 minutes and apparently no arrangement has been made. I waited around 1 hour until a pick up turned up. 2. Car not available Upon reaching the branch, Nick from Enterprise told me that no car was available (Josh was not around). By this time, it was 2 hours past my reservation time and I was already very late for an appointment. He did not offer any alternative, and all he could do was to ask me to wait until a car becomes available. Other than a blatant breach of contract, Enterprise has wasted more than 3 hours of my time and caused me to miss 2 appointments. I have decided not to use Enterprise ever again moving forward, and will start advocating my friends and colleagues against using Enterprise. I don't think anybody deserve the horrible customer service that Enterprise offers. read more
