[Counter]: The rental car counters at Spokane International Airport (GEG) are all located within a 5 to 10 minute walk from all concourses. There is no need to take shuttles or trams. [Rate]: Approximately $90 for a one-day rental of a midsize car. [Checking-in]: I accidentally waited in the wrong line and ended up having a staff member from National assist with my Alamo check-in. National and Alamo are owned by the same parent company (Enterprise Holdings). I had already checked in ahead of time via email, but I still needed to sign the rental agreement at the counter. [Pick-up]: To my surprise, I picked up a brand-new Nissan Sentra with only 8 miles on the odometer. Unfortunately, I was a little confused because there was no exit booth for checkout and I actually circled back to the pickup area & double-checked with a staff member. Unlike other rental car centers at larger airports, once car key is secured at the rental car counter then just simply drive out. [Drop-off]: Easy drop-off, but I had to flag down a staff member as there was only one person handling the return process for all returned vehicles. [Conclusion]: Overall the service was friendly and efficient, but it would be even better if (1) there were one more staff member supporting the pick-up and drop-off processes and (2) staff provided clearer airport exit instructions to avoid second guessing.

After returning the vehicle, I was surprised to receive additional charges totaling $383.25 for a vehicle upgrade that I never requested or approved. The paperwork presented at the counter was not clearly explained, and I was never informed that accepting the vehicle would result in significant additional charges beyond my prepaid reservation. I have disputed these charges, submitted supporting documentation, and filed complaints with both my credit card company and consumer protection agencies. Customers should carefully review every document presented at the rental counter and insist on receiving a clear explanation of any changes to their reservation before signing. This experience has left me feeling misled and frustrated. I expected transparency and honesty but did not receive either. I would not rent from Hertz again based on this experience.

There's no Emerald Lot "pick your car and go" option here. Not a dealbreaker on its own, but that flexibility is a big part of why I choose National. So I went to the desk, got checked in, and was told there were no cars available. I'd have to wait for the manager to call my name. Thirty-five minutes. While I waited, I watched other customers get called, get offered vehicles, and hear the manager, Tony, apologize and offer upgrades. When my name finally came up, I was offered a full-size sedan. I asked about a larger SUV, something I'm used to as an Executive member, and was told I'd booked a mid-size and would be charged more for the upgrade. I explained that hadn't been my experience elsewhere. The response was that the desk gets charged for the different class. I never have been. What bothered me most wasn't the car. It was watching that same accommodation extended to everyone ahead of me and not to me. The delay also made me late to a scheduled meeting. For a loyal customer with choices, that's poor form. Credit where it's due: Tony handled a genuinely unruly, belligerent customer with real composure and defused the situation well. That part was impressive. National, I want to keep choosing you. TSA can look pretty backed up because there isn't much room for the lines, but in our experience, it usually moves faster than it appears. The TSA agents have also been consistently friendly, which is a nice contrast to some larger airports. My biggest complaint is the food selection. There used to be a Quiznos, but now the options are more limited, with a gastropub, a juice bar, and a coffee shop. I'd personally rather have a simple fast-food option, especially when looking for something less sugary. There also isn't much seating near the gates, so when flights are busy, you may end up standing until boarding starts.

I can not tell you how much i appreciate this as someone who missed flights twice in my life and both were due to long rental car drop off processes. The whole airport follows a simple, straightforward flow--you basically move from one checkpoint to the next without much confusion. There is TSA PreCheck, although the process feels a little old-school. Instead of a clearly separated experience throughout, they hand you the classic blue card while you're in the TSA line to indicate PreCheck. Once through security, there's a small, circular food court with a few options, including coffee and a juice spot. From there, the airport continues with the same wonderfully simple layout, branching into two hallways for the A and B gates. Nothing fancy or overwhelming here--and that's exactly why I like it. Small, convenient, easy rental-car access, and you can get from one end to the other without wasting time. One of those airports that makes traveling just a little less stressful.

Do not ever rent a car from enterprise. I rented a vehicle from them, and turned it in with no damage. It was checked in by an employee in good order and then two months later I get a bill from them for over $2,000 for damage to the vehicle I did not do. When I called to inquire about it, the lady on the phone lied and told me I had admitted to the damage and that I'd pay it when I turned the vehicle in (not true). I didn't even receive notice of the damage until two months later and she was the first person I had spoken to. My insurance denied the claim as I did no damage. During the "Investigation" Enterprise could provide no evidence that I did the damage and had no proof that any damage was done by me. Enterprise would not return my phone calls during this time, specifically Jason and has still not provided any evidence I did damage (because I didn't). They are now insisting I pay because there is hidden language in the contract that states you must pay even if the damage is unknown. Thats right people they reserve the right in the contract to charge you for anything with no proof, no evidence of UNKNOWN damage. This is criminal. The American justice system requires burden of proof and is innocent until proven guilty but Enterprise will charge you thousands of dollars and puts in their contract that they do not need proof. Save yourself the potential thousands of dollars for fraudulent charges like this by NEVER renting from enterprise. It is an absolutely criminal company. read more

Picked up a Camry in Spokane for a work trip to Sandpoint, Idaho. The staff was friendly and professional and made the process painless. If I'd known anything more about my destination, I might have asked for a different vehicle, but that was on me and there was nothing specifically wrong with the Camry. Just a little weak on the mountain roads. Turn in was just as easy, with staff in the parking lot to take the keys and check me in. Again, another fabulous experience with Enterprise. WIth one glaring exception, Enterprise has consistently, across the country, maintained excellent customer service skills and reliable vehicles. read more

I travel about 80 days a year. Have been unhappy with another rental company and decided to change to Enterprise. This was my first rental. Had the car for 2 days and drove it about 20 miles total. $100+. Topped off the gas in town $3.22. Went to the airport to return the car and the attendant questioned whether I topped it off or not. I said I did. He said, well, the gauge doesn't look quite like you did. going to have to charge you for a gallon of gas. $3.85. They lost a customer that rents cars 80+ days a year for $3.85. Used Enterprise out of Spokane Airport (GEG) on my way from Oakland CA to Kelowna, Canada, and drove north into Canada via Hwy 97. Had a comfortable car for about 3 weeks of trouble-free driving and returned the vehicle in good condition and as scheduled. Service from the Enterprise rental people was prompt and business-like, no complaints either coming or going at the airport. The rental cost was the best I could find out of GEG for our needs. We recently flew in to Spokane from Chicago and had reserved a standard size car to drive to Montana. There were quite a few flights arriving at the same time and when we got to the Enterprise counter they were waiting for more cars to come in, which was no big deal to us. The wait was only about 5 minutes and when they called my name they asked if a Cadillac SUV would be okay? Oh boy, would it!! What a pleasant experience both picking up the car and returning it, thanks to the excellent Enterprise employees! read more

I have traveled around the world for years (I'm old) and enjoy visiting in Spokane if for no other reason than to interact with the Enterprise staff. They have always been professional and courteous to me and i have witnessed them do the same to many other customers. I was upgraded to a small SUV when I told him we had 3 adults plus bags and were driving all the way up to Cusick. The car was perfect for our needs and the drop off was a breeze. It was great. I got off my flight which landed about 30-45 minutes early. They didn't have my rental early but I had to get on the road. They upgraded me from a Nissan Maxima to a Dodge Durango which was amazing. I've been a "Enterprise Plus" member since 2012 and have no reason not to be. They are fast and friendly. And do what it takes to get you on the road. read more

One of the better Enterprise locations out there. They had the car I reserved (van), but asked if I'd move to a SUV because they were running low on vans. I agreed but found the SUV to be too small. They easily switched me out and moved me back to the van. No fuss or issues. They were quick, not sales-many and made the experience painless as possible. read more

We always have a great experience at Enterprise and this weekend was no exception. The staff always friendly, never feel "nickel & dime'd" and the vehicles are always new & nice. I would have rated this location 5 stars but car we reserved wasn't available and the wait time was crazy long. Enterprise is still our go-to rental car though. read more

After being a Hertz Gold member, I was a little disappointed at the slow check in process. I miss not being able to walk up to the counter and having all the paperwork completed and having the car keys handed to me. The staff at Enterprise is very friendly, however - the technology is outdated and could be greatly improved. read more
