Had a bad experience here. Needed a loner because my car was in the shop for a couple days. They take all my info down and tell me around 3 pm. A couple hours I called and said I would be running 30 minutes late. They said no problem and took down both my home and cellphone to call me when the car would be ready. Wait a minute, wasn't it suppose to be ready at 3? The person on the phone said no and that it is first come first serve. What is the point of making a reservation? They told me that is was not a reservation but some bs response. Fine, I call again at 3:30 and ask if they had a car for me. They said yes. Go down within ten minutes to be told they did not have a car for me; someone had just came and picked it up. What's the point of a reservation? What's the point of giving 2 different phone numbers if you were never going to call to tell me a car is ready or that they have no cars available? I think the biggest frustration is that I talked to a different person every time I communicated with them. When I was at the place, I asked to speak with the 3 people who I spoke with on the phone because now I was getting contradictory information but was told they all had left for the day. I talked to 5 different people for a same day reservation. I found the experience frustrating, a waste of time, and their staff to be immature. read more

Never rent from enterprise they are trying to rip me off saying that the pre-existing paint damage on the car I returned is my responsibility ... I have had to secure an attorney to resolve the situation ... If you are not going to heed my advice at least do yourself a favor and take before and after photos with your phone... Especially if you are dropping it off during closed hours!! read more

I wish I could give a zero star. I had to wait for a pick-up for 45 minutes although I made a reservation and gave them a heads-up on what time I will be there, as well as, called them as I was leaving to go to the shop. What else could I have done to make sure I would be picked up on time? The shop that my car was being fixed is literally less than 2 minutes (0.3 miles) away from their office. I called to ask where the driver is and they told me that the driver is stuck in traffic. Are you kidding me? That is just a bad awareness and horrible customer service. I would skip this branch and go to the one in Englewood. They are far more accommodating and courteous. Tenafly branch should get their act together. read more

Car was filthy, inside and out, which we only noticed as we were driving (late for an appointment). The back window was so bad it was hard to see out of it especially in the bright sun. After the appointment we got in the car, which had heated up a bit in the sun, and were greeted by a strong smell of urine. Its then we noticed the stains on both seats! We complained but that just got us a lot of excuses and a mumbled apology. I would highly recommend walking instead of renting a car from Enterprise. read more

We needed a rental while our car was being repaired due to an accident back in January of 2013. My first impression of Enterprise RAC in Tenafly wasn't a good one few years ago but due to convenience, I thought I give it a try again. It wasn't a good move the second time as well. First, I wanted to try the Hyundai Elentra so the agent named Jason brought us the white Hyundai Elantra. During inspection, I pointed out to the noticeable longitudinal dent on the front passenger side door. He said no worried as the dent was less than 6" and that he knows about it therefore not marking it on the inspection sheet (mistakes #1). When we took it home, we realized that the interior was filthy (stains all over seats) and there was no windshield washer fluid; few days later, we've got over foot of snow! I realized that there was no fluid when I drove the next day. Interior also wreaked with sweat smell. It also had close to 40K miles on this car; very high in today's rental standard. Enterprise should be renamed Rent-A-Wreck. Twenty-one days later, the ordeal started. I returned the car with more fuel than how I got it (empty) and paid for fuel in advance. Jason wasn't there but there was a guy named Kevin Cowan was there (claimed that he' is the branch manager). I told him about the dent and that Jason had mentioned to me prior to taking the car and he told me that since it was less than 6" it was okay (being honest -- mistake #2). He immediately went inside and grabbed a spray and a rag and started to clean the spot and told me that I was responsible for the damage! He went on to say that if I noticed it, why didn't I indicate it on the inspection sheet? We went back and forth in a shouting match with my wife standing next to me. He then refused to call Jason as he was off that day (not one phone call). Kevin kept insisting that he needed to "investigate" this matter and that I'd be most likely responsible for the damage (I felt horrified by his presumptions and that made me feel like I had done something wrong!). I then mentioned to Kevin that I had worked as an assistant manager at a NYC rental car agency back in the 90's and it was highly unusual for an agent to tell the customer that any damage to the vehicle prior to rental was seldom "okay" -- I don't think he cared. I even mentioned that we hardly drove the car and sat in our driveway most of the time and he said to me "well, you clocked over 400 miles on this car." -- 400 miles? in 21 days? So 400 miles divided by 21 is 19 miles per day average? That's a lot of miles? I then got a hold of his manager and that Kevin was one of his "best guy" -- and that an investigation was needed. I met with Jason the following day and told him why he'd got me into this mess as he insisted that the dent was okay during inspection therefore not marking it on the sheet. Kevin then came back and told me that Jason said he never told me what I had claimed that he'd said -- even though my wife was standing right beside me when he told me that he'd take care of the dent (even thought he's making it sound like we're still at fault??). KevinHe then went onto say that he'd pay for the damage and it will cost him $300-$400 in repair?? You can get Dent Wizard to repair without painting for about $150 (not that it matters at this point). But these guys are just insane, this is why, I would never, ever rent another vehicle from Enterprise in the future. Save yourself the headache and go with a reputable nationwide chain like Avis or Hertz. read more

My second time renting from here. Both times I had a pickup at my house. Both times they showed up on time. I made a last minute change upgrading the size. They did not have what I wanted but gave me two levels up for no extra charge. All my experiences with phone calls, pickups, charges, etc. have been great. These guys will go the extra mile to help you out and meet or exceed your needs. Gotta give them a high grade regardless of the crappy reviews others have had. Then again, they are older so this may be new management. read more

Had a reservation here for a rental car and when I went to pick it up they had none available for me in the class size that I booked. They tried to downgrade me without telling me but when I started asking questions they started calling around for other cars. They located one for me with the Westwood Enterprise Rent-A-Car, upgraded me free of charge, comped me gas for my troubles and were super polite. All in all not a great experience or way to start a weekend trip but their polite service earns then an extra star. read more

These guys go the extra mile. I needed a rental because my car was at the body shop in need of repair. They explained how to deal with the insurance company, gave me an upgrade, picked me up at the dealership within 5 minutes of my arrival and did all of it with a smile. The prices are the lowest in the area, I will be going to this location again. Good job folks. read more

Great costumer service! I made a reservation in the middle of the night through a third party for a last minute business trip. At pick up my car was available and was later upgraded when I indicated it was for a long trip I was taking alone. The car was nice, clean and equipped with everything I needed. Sean, Matt and Jamal were super pleasant and accommodating. Upon returning the car, I incurred some unexpected charges and though I initially resented Enterprise Rent-A-Car, the manager patiently identified and explained the miscommunication. The third party failed to properly communicate some hidden fees (it showed as $0 in the final invoice but fine print in a section of their web page that is NOT included in final pdf/printed invoice says "additional fees might apply"). They were again really accommodating in helping me resolve this small glitch that was caused by the third party. I'm so glad I found a convenient, friendly and efficient car rental place near home! And will no longer use a third party now that I know I can just book directly. read more
