We called My Exterminator with high hopes after reading their positive Google and Yelp reviews…read more(which are all 3+ years old!). Three treatments and $1200 later, our bedbug problem was not just unaffected, but actively MADE WORSE by the technicians utter incompetency and lack of care. I'm writing this review to spare others the expense, pain, itching, and emotional drain of dealing with this totally incompetent and untrustworthy company. MyExterminator, AKA Enviro-Tech Pest Services (Both companies in the contract) portrayed themselves as experienced bedbug professionals who assured us their treatment would easily take care of our bedbug problem. After forking over $1200 for a 2-spray treatment, we were greeted by Chris the technician, who immediately dispelled any illusions we had about MyExterminator's professionalism. He arrived to every appointment over two hours before the appointment we set (and took time off work to be at home for). He clearly was putting in the bare minimum effort, and after telling us "this will be too easy," applied the spray with utter carelessness and was not thorough at all. He didn't even bother to lift or move objects to spray behind/under. Worse, MyExterminator's technician clearly didn't know ANYTHING about bedbugs. When shown the bed-bags we had around our mattresses (a basic treatment step mentioned by just about every online source out there), he cluelessly asked "what's with those bed condoms??" Worse, the technician didn't have a clue about what the chemicals he was using were or what they did. The second time he came to treat our home, he was so checked-out that he mistakenly used Tallstar (general bug spray for roaches) instead of CB80 (spray formulated primarily for bedbugs). When my roommate caught the mistake, he called a manager at MyExterminator who told him "Sorry about that, we'll have him switch chemicals." The manager proceeded to call the tech and tell him privately "not to worry" about spraying the wrong chemical and that they were "basically the same." Of course the tech told us this and left without fixing his mistake. Before hiring them, MyExterminator had promised us verbally numerous times that the 2-treatment spray came with a 1 month warranty, during which we would get a free follow-up treatment if we found a live bedbug. Of course, MyExterminator's careless treatment was ineffective, and when we called back to ask for our treatment under warranty, MyExterminator claimed the warranty "wasn't in the contract" and that they wouldn't honor it. After confronting them about their verbal promises, MyExterminator claimed to have a "computer malfunction", hung up, and ghosted us for a few hours. Though MyExterminator eventualy agreed to honor the warranty they promised us, when the technician arrived, he once again sprayed in a careless manner. Worse, he failed to close the bed-bags on our mattresses again before he left, allowing the bedbugs trapped inside to escape back into the home. The tech's completely reckless conduct actively made our bedbug problem worse. Take your money elsewhere!

SPRK is not only honest but their techs are highly experienced and knowledgeable. They took care of a hornet nest for us and they did it right so it never came back. I primarily started with them because a veteran owns it, then kept them because of the 5 star services they have been providing me for years. My rental home had mice way back in the day, I was living there at the time and my wife was not having it and needed them gone FAST. Scratching in the walls and so on. The home is a 1959 and from what they said in VA this is expected. We have a fire pit and we kept a cord of wood close to the house and that's where they were having the time of their life - until winter that is, then they came in for warmth and food. I called SPRK and the company owner came and evaluated the property himself (not a flash in and out, he was very thorough). He easily located the places that they could enter the home and took care of them. He placed bait stations all around the outside of the home and several inside in key areas. Within 2 - 4 weeks everything was silent. No scratching, nothing in the basement running around, nadda. Happy family! Cut to years later, now it's a rental and we had some not-so-clean folks renting the house and they brought in among other things, you guess it - friggin' roaches. We lived there 9 years and NEVER had a bug besides a spider or an ant here and there. The worst part is they never said anything and we walked into this festering issue when the house was empty. I 911 called SPRK that day and the next day they came out beat the sh*t out of the problem with some great spray treatments and bait stations, hence they eradicated the problem. Since the house is a single family home AND not connected to anyone else the problem was taken care of swiftly. Had it been a row house or town home that could have posed more issues with controlling them. Now I maintain the inside monthly service and the quarterly outside rodent prevention service and everything Is great now (AGAIN). Bottom line is, if you want a PERSONAL pest service that get's the job done, hire them. If you call or email them you will get a person quite promptly. HOWEVER, If you want some huge national franchise pest company that has new people every week and could care less when or if the pest issue is corrected then these folks are not for you.
