Yes, Wings N Things is an establishment I've never had the chance to eat at....until now, so bear with me. I kinda don't get the appeal. I pay 8 bucks for a combo consisting of 3 chicken strips with buffalo sauce covering it like gravy, 2 carrot sticks, 2 celery sticks that I won't dare touch because I hate celery, and 2 mini-breadsticks. Oh, and a drink. So..yeah, where is the appeal again? I can't find it. The onion rings that we shared were okay. The ranch was decent. Am I really yelping ranch right now? Yes...I am...because I don't know what else to do. I used to work at Wings N Things in National City and our motive was customer service. Which I enjoyed doing. I called for take-out and asked my strips to be extra crispy and extra wet. When I came home expecting that, it was not what I expected. I also do recall when I used to work in National City that when a customer asked for extra dressing. It was okay to give them one more and then charge them. I asked the manager I believe for just ONE SMALL EXTRA DRESSING she said that would be 54 cents. What kind of customer service is that??? Me and my coworkers guilty pleasure! About once a week one of the office girls would mention hmmm how about wings n things? Why it's always a YES! They have these boneless strips that are so good and the sauce is delicious, they have it in many heat varieties. They have awesome bread sticks!!! Breaded zucchini, onion rings, fries, potato salad, jalapeno poppers, tons of accompaniments for your wings, although you probably won't need them. This location is by far the worst of their stores. Took them nearly 45 minutes to get a phone order out of a 4 strip meal. Was told 15 minutes over the phone, I arrived and sat for just under 30 more minutes in the store. The best part about it all, as I was waiting in the front for my food, the girl told me she would check on the meal. I noticed a bag sitting on their counter as she went to the back. She came back to tell me that it would be a few minutes. I then sat there for the 30 minutes, only to ask after about 20 minutes if someone could check on my food. The young man went straight to the bag that I had noticed, which turned out to be my food. I had been sitting for over 30 minutes. I opened the box and they were cold. The selections and ordering process are pretty straight forward. You can order bone in wings, boneless wings, or chicken strips. We always get the chicken strips. You can get a "single meal" which includes 4 strips, 2 breadsticks, a "double meal" 8 strips and 4 breadsticks, or a "family meal" which is 16 strips and 8 breadsticks...All meals come with celery/carrots and your choice of blue cheese or ranch. Single meals are $7.25, Doubles are $14.50 and family meals are $25.00. Technically, the family meal is your best value, but you have to be really hungry or have multiple people in order to not waste food. Your sauce choices are mild/medium/hot/really hot and are you sure you want to burn your butthole in a few hours hot. They also have bbq choices as well as a sweet chili sauce. Tonight we went with single orders of mild, an order of medium, and a sweet chili. Everything was delicious! The strips themselves are pretty large and they are perfectly fried and sauced. The breadsticks are brushed with oil/butter? and have some garlic salt on them. They are just filler basically. The strips are the star of the show! They are really good! This is my wifes favorite spot to eat at in Kearny Mesa. I always try to convince her to go somewhere else, but she is pretty adamant on going here. I love chicken wings and this chain makes them pretty decent. Its pretty hard to mess up wings though. I never understood the hot sauce here. They should just call it sour sauce. Driving back to our apartment, the food smelled delicious but once we got home, I was so disappointed. We asked for the lemon pepper & garlic flavors but they ended up mixing both flavors together. I have been craving for good chicken wings for a while. I am glad that my friend introduced me to wing-n-things! I like their options of wings or boneless wings combos. Also many options of sauces to mix and match! We had their spicy buffalo with regular wings which were wonderful. The sauce wasn't too spicy or sour. Just enough spicy to flavor up the wings. We also tried their new flavor, mango habanero, with the boneless wings. They were awesome!!! I highly recommend to give it try. It is sweet but spicy at the same time. But coming from a 21 year old stoner guy that drinks beer and eats fried food I guess I get it (truly no offense Justin). I had the boneless hot with some bread and a pitcher of beer. This is the first time I've eaten here. I didn't want wings per say so I ordered something called chicken pizza sticks or what not. I added sweet chili sauce with a side of ranch dressing. I waited about 15 minutes or so for them to make them, which I really do appreciate and the staff were very polite. My food came our piping hot and really cheesy. The first time I tried this place I was skepital. I was looking for something to bring to a party and everyone had said they wanted good wings. I didn't have time to make them so I needed to fine a place. The prices arn't bad ad they're great if you need a ton of food in a short amount of time with no thought. Pay close attention to the heat leavels. I made the mistake of ordering the hottes and no one was able to eat thouse ones.. Today I drove to this location to order a carry out meal. I requested a boneless Single meal. I was informed the food would be ready in 10 minutes, yet it took nearly 25 minutes to get my food. I trusted that my order was correct (will never do that again), drove home (10 Miles) and realized they gave me the incorrect order. I called the store to speak to a manager to find a resolution. An associate answered and stated that no managers were working. This individual then followed by stating that if I were passed to someone in charge, that person would be communicating in broken English. Who warns a customer regarding another associates communication skills before passing them off? I don't recommend supporting this business for multiple reasons! I'm addicted to their hot chicken strips and I actually enjoy the decor with their old CRT televisions all over the place. There are several locations for Wings 'n' Things, and this one is by far the best. Service is friendly and quick, and oh my GOD is the food amazing. The best deal is the five strip combo. Comes with five strips (duh) drenched in your choice of sauces, ranging from mild to extra hot, or barbecue or garlic. It also comes with fresh-baked breadsticks, which are to die for, carrots and celery sticks, and either bleu cheese or ranch dressing. For my money, it doesn't get any more delicious than the combo, medium heat, and bleu cheese. If you're not a fan of drippy, heavily sauced wings and strips, this may not be the place for you. I personally like my wings and strips as messy as can be. The sauces don't just pack heat, they pack flavor, and a huge amount of it. This location tends to be really, really cold due to the high ceilings, and the acoustics aren't too great, so when a game is on, it can be a bit noisy. They serve beer, too! Score! read more
