Vegan BBQ burger is a good combination of flavors. The BBQ sauce and slaw are really tasty. The bean burger itself was ok but fell apart and off the bun. Vegan cheese is terrible, in general. I wish they'd just leave it off and save me 50 cents. The fries were really good. My husband said they gave "too much cheese" with the cheese fries...I have never heard him utter the words "too much cheese"! I gave him half of my fries for the rest of his cheese because my burger was so filling. He really liked his bacon cheeseburger. They offer a few beers and fountain drinks. Epik Burger is my favorite hamburger in Jacksonville. I would consider these gourmet burgers and not your typical greasy fast burger. You will find that the menu had all sorts of crazy combinations and almost everyone of them are delectable. Our personal favorites are the Philly Burger, Epikurean Burger (when you read it sounds crazy, but just trust me and try it), and the Wild Mushroom burger. However, we have had Bbq Burger, LeSteakhouse burger, Breakfast burger, Huevos Burger, BLT burger, Buffalo fried burger (don't do it unless you have dieted for a week), Buffalo chicken sandwich (definitely a different take on a chicken sandwich), the Epik burger, and a wide variety of the specialty burgers. Not a single one has been bad, but our least favorite has probably been the Huevos burger. They have a club membership, which you can earn by eating a wide variety of their sandwiches. We are working our way to being an International Burger Connoisseur member and don't have very far to go. NO MATTER WHAT BURGER YOU GET, MAKE SURE YOU ADD THE PRETZEL BUN. That bun truly makes all the difference. The fries are great as well. Our favorite is the Parmesan Truffle, but you also can't go wrong with the cheese fries. They have dipping sauces for the fries as well, try the original it is really good or you can go with everyone's favorite standard dip, ranch, which they put a good take on. Every shake is worth the price, but they should charge more for the Nutella shake because it is that good. Very small restaurant and it can be hard to find seating if it busy. The staff are always very nice and polite. It is clean and a great place to have a nice lunch or dinner. Highly recommend! read more

I will be honest. After plunking down $65 for 3 burgers, 3 orders of fries, 2 milkshakes and a soda I was a little nervous. We ordered the Epikcurean, Huevos and Breakfast burgers. Cheese, Truffle Parm and Bacon Cheese fries. Chocolate Covered Strawberry and Elvis milkshakes. Added the tip upfront. It was a Friday night, there was already a full dining area and a line. We waited outside and a picnic table cleared enough for us to claim a stake. We had each other and the party next to us to keep us entertained. They had been there before and had a lot of good to say. The wait was quite long, we waited about 30 minutes if not longer to get the burgers. Each one was made perfectly and tasted great. We finished those and then waited another 10 minutes for the fries. After finishing them (and we ate slow) it was another 20 minutes before we got our milkshakes. Was it worth it? Taste, absolutely... I took a bite of the Epikcurean and wished I had gotten one as well because it is spectacular. I really enjoyed my meal, however the wait was a bit too much but in retrospect, having each part of the meal separately sort of made me take my time and appreciate the separate components. However, who would be happy waiting so long while you watch everyone else enjoy their meal- broken up like ours was as well. The Truffle Parm fries are amazing as far as fries go. I also liked the Cheese sauce they have. I have to say that as funky as the Elvis shake sounds, it was by far my favorite thing. Everyone I have told about this shake has looked at me funny and made a comment that basically it sounded "gross." I assured them, it was beyond anything I have had. I mean, I loved it. I can't believe something so simple could be so great. Yeah, it's pricey but take into account that they are using quality ingredients. Cornichons, truffles, pancetta... who else tops their burgers like this? Okay, so I can't afford to make this a regular thing but it will certainly be somewhere I think of when I want to indulge. The breakfast burger was amazing and seriously, the best onion rings I have ever had. And they were huge!

Yet another example of a cool place ruined by politics. It is acceptable to remove the mask while eating, but not seated and waiting for the food. Unfortunately, they dont inform you. They stay silent and remove your order from the queue. After 30 minutes, we remasked and reminded them of our order. It was immediately prepared in a To-go bag. Sensing something was wrong, I examined the content. The staff smashed and destroyed all the food, except the content at the top of the bag, presumably to hide what they did until we got home for a surprise. In the past, this restaurant was great, but if the new staff is willing to go this far, I'm sure they have the capacity to do worse. The next step in their silent quest to dispense justice will be to spit or otherwise poison the food. I would pass on this restaurant until the current staff revolves out of the door, or just be careful with the mask. The mask should be worn between bites and sips during your epik burger experience. read more

But when I order an order of fries the kitchen staff seemed annoyed, it was pretty weird considering I was 1 of the 2 people in there.I ended up waiting 34 minutes and getting dirty look from the kitchen staff. Wish I could give a better review. I got the vegan burger. It was smothered in BBQ sauce, so I couldn't really taste the burger. Also got sweet potato fries and onion rings. The SP fries were good. The onion rings were so greasy, I couldn't eat them. My husband got the mushroom Swiss burger. He said it was good but nothing special. Based on the reviews, I had higher hopes. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I'm glad these local business owners are successful. Seems from the reviews, their success will continue :) I will say service was quick and courteous. After waiting more than 30 minutes in line on a Friday night the cashier was rude and took some else's order behind me because I was not aware that I had to read the menu before I got to the cashier. Ended up leaving and not ordering. The second time I thought I would give them a chance they gave my order to the wrong person and then after waiting almost 20 minutes they forgot half my order. First time I went, I picked up their Guacamole Began burger and BBQ Vegan burger, to have my hungry self a taste challenge. I preferred the BBQ burger greatly to the Guac, though the Guac is most popular. I like the vegan-friendly cheese, vinegar cole slaw, and the sweet tangy sauce. It's a very creative tasty recipe. I liked the Guac burger too, jalapeño and all had a good kick, but for some strange reason I just had to add ketchup for maximum tastiness. With veggie burgers it's really easy for them to taste dry. Their sweet potato fries are PHENOMENAL! I've only tried three things, but most of their sides are veggie proofed. Cuisine burgers with each and every burger having it's own shape, texture, flavor, and appeal. Delicious! I order the Buffalo Fried Burger. Oh man, when that puppy was presented in front me by the delightful server I could not believe how this burger was hand crafted. What seemed like Angus beef fried in tempura batter and took a quick splash in buffalo sauce made the burger melt immediately when I sank my teeth into it. Topped with an additional Bleu Cheese and an onion ring it had become the burger of my dreams. My taste buds liked it too! Side kicked by Sweet Potato fries it was an excellent meal and had definitely caught me as a returning customer. I don't know how this place could be rated less than 4 stars. I've been here numerous times and always left impressed. The parmesan truffle fries are mind blowing, and there is something on the menu for everyone. If you like spicy food, rare ahi tuna, kimchi, or just a really flavorful cheeseburger, this place is awesome. I also recommend trying the various dipping sauces for the fries. Sweet potato fries + cinnamon sauce = nom. The fact that they have a couple beers and wines to pair with your burger is pretty cool for a burger joint. I've never had a bad meal here. We LOVE this place! There is enough variety in burgers that you can always try something new or just stick with an old favorite. Burgers are cooked to order and the one time it was not just how we wanted it they re-did it and were so nice about it. Love the 3 different sizes that are able to fit everyone's needs. The different bun choices are nice too. The fries and onion rings are amazing and the dipping sauces delicious and tasty. The bacon.....speaks for itself!!! Fried egg on the burger- sooooo good! The milkshakes are the best in town. My kids beg to go just to get a malt or milkshake. Even the whipped cream on top is old fashioned delish! The fact that they have a Gluten free menu and are so careful and accommodating to people (especially kids) with food allergies just puts this place over the top for us. This is our go-to for our son with peanut allergy and any friends of theirs that have food allergy issues. Always clean with helpful, polite staff. Mine was dry, one of my dining companions had one that was a bit underseasoned. That doesn't mean there aren't positives -- the fries and gravy are excellent and the shakes very good.
