The facility is extremely busy, and nurses are frequently checking in on patients. Rooms are shared (two patients per room) and include a private bathroom, a TV for each bed, and a dresser. The facility itself is clean, though the nursing staff often seemed short-handed. During especially busy times, it was not unusual to wait 5-15 minutes for a response after pressing the call button. Physical therapy was provided once or twice per day in short sessions. Some drawbacks included physicians making care decisions without always coming to check in directly with the patient, as well as occasional miscommunication regarding medications. While some staff members appeared more short-tempered than others, the majority were friendly, attentive, and patient. We also experienced some issues with laundry, clothing went missing, and at times other patients' clothes were mistakenly given to our family member. Overall, we are grateful for the care received, but there is clear room for improvement, particularly with staff-to-patient ratios to help reduce call-button wait times and improve overall communication.

I have been so blessed and thankful to have received a referral for Maxum for my PT needs from my PCP. And it was all covered thru my insurance with CalOptima! The entire team here is a little family and as I went thru my few months of therapy, I felt like a became a part of it. Today as I "graduated," I felt extremely sad and like a part of my life was changing. 2 times a week, I would look forward to going and seeing everyone. I worked mostly with Brendan, Daniel, Emma, and Brian. They are all extremely intelligent, caring, supportive, energetic, and patient with me, as I was late for numerous sessions, embarrassingly. Don't let me forget the WONDERFUL gals at the front, Jacky and Karen, who shared the same traits as the rest of the team. The facility itself is kept spotless, sanitized, and well-kept. They have lots of great equipment and something I really liked was that they don't "overbook." There were never more than about 4-5 patients in there at once, so it was never noisy, crowded, etc., which allows you to focus on your therapist and training. All in all, Maxum Therapy deserves outstanding citizen awards and is a shining GEM in the OC community. I cannot wait until I need PT again so I can return to my Maxum family. :)

I have chronic pain, fatigue, and autoimmune diseases, and I started going to Maxum for TMJ. I no longer have issues with my jaw, and I've been treated for several other issues since (tendonitis, scoliosis, arthritis, pulled muscles, surgery recovery, chondromalacia). I was able to return to sports I thought I could never do again. Bryan is a compassionate and knowledgeable practitioner. He's an expert in his field and meets you where you're at. Modifications for your specific case will be offered, and you'll constantly have small wins that make you better. I tell everyone I know to go see Bryan for literally any issue they have, and I'm so grateful to him and the Maxum team for helping me get my life back.

Dear St. Elizabeth Skilled Nursing Facility Team,…read more Having a staff that provides constant attention and genuine care is of the utmost importance to our family, especially given the challenges of rehabilitation for our 94-year-old mother, Aida. We are writing to express our deepest gratitude for the exceptional care she received at your facility in Fullerton. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Jay in Physical Therapy for his excellent attention to detail. His diligent tracking of the additional days required for her stay ensured she could safely transfer from her bed to a wheelchair with the assistance of only one CNA. When our mother arrived a month ago, she was unable to stand or walk, and her progress has been remarkable. We were also very impressed by the medical care meeting provided for our family. It was well-organized, with up-to-date lab work and clear documentation that allowed us to easily understand her medical progress. Additionally, social workers Elvie and Ana, along with Bianca, Alejandra, and Renee from administration, were outstanding resources. They kept our family consistently informed and made the discharge process seamless. Our special gratitude goes to the housekeeping team (Gloria and Julio), the CNAs (Mayra and Alma), and the nursing staff. They kept the facility immaculately clean and welcoming, while ensuring our mother was comfortable, cared for, and able to participate in daily activities. Finally, we want to thank the dining staff for providing nutritious, high-quality meals and for being so accommodating to her dietary preferences. St. Elizabeth felt like a safe, comfortable home away from home thanks to your friendly personnel.

Elvie the case manager is professional and very communicative. Returning your calls immediately. She's very up-to-date on the patient's situation at all times. He came in with a speech delay and no real social connection to anyone other than immediate relatives, but he's come to love it there. He actually gets excited to go and see his teachers and has memorized all the songs they sing to him. He even transitions from one activity to the next without major meltdowns as he used to. We previously tried a different speech and learning center and my son would dread going. He would have outbursts in the waiting room and not want to participate (even though the staff there seemed just as nice). But there's something about Apple Tree's structure, environment, and teaching methods that really resonate with him. They even have a parent coach and send out newsletters with helpful information that makes navigating a child with delays seem a little less daunting. Plus being able to be in the classroom with him to see him interacting and learning new techniques to manage stressful situations has helped all of us. On top of all that, we started this going to Apple Tree in the middle of COVID, and yet the precautions they take make me comfortable enough to send my 2yo there. All the teachers and therapists there seem to really enjoy what they do and it shows in the improvements my son has made.
