I was told when installation was going to be instead of being asked. When that date didn't work, the owners had a very bad attitude. I had to keep calling and messaging to get a date. The day of installation seemed fine. The next day my husband was deep in our yard and saw a small section of roof was not replaced. I called the owner and he tried saying my husband told him not to do that part! He was literally yelling in the phone like he was crazy. His wife co-owner, came out the next day and apologized for his behavior. She even stated "why wouldn't you do that section?". She said that they had been arguing about this. She said that he did not estimate the cost for that section! She said he would send an estimate for it and for me to call her afterwards and she would give us a materials only price. So I did, and she gave me that price, but never in writing, it seemed like a side agreement since she was arguing with her husband. She said she would talk with him about scheduling. I got no call back. I messaged, no reply, I called, no answer ...over and over for two weeks. I messaged her that I was about to call the Better Business Bureau if I didn't hear back by the next evening. Within a few minutes, the both learned how to use their phones, but only to deny the problem and send me a letter, completely distorting the facts and attempting to blame us for their neglect! Marianne Hall (wife and co-owner) is fully aware of her husband George's behavior. She even recounted several instances where we flew off the handle with other clients. This is all totally unacceptable. Additionally, we found a few shingles, and nails scattered around over the next few days. The crew left some ruts in the yard after going off of the side drive they were asked to stay away from. I overlooked these things, but now they are just a part of the full picture. At this point I would not trust them to complete the job. Their work was incomplete, communication and timeliness of appointments was terrible, the yelling and bad attitudes were the final straw! I was very happy with the end result…read more So I started this journey years prior when we had a couple of days of down pours. There was a slight dribble of water on an overhung portion of my dining area. I called some homeowners and asked about the options. After speaking with several I thought to wait, but got a second opinion from Harview roofing just to be sure. The salesman came out, looked at my house, and told me I still had about three to four years on the roof. He offered to replace it, but said it could wait too. So I started researching what were the best options of roofing contractors. Then I got opinions from friends, and finally two years later, after another set of down pours, I called for estimates. Then I had groups visiting with overpriced quotes: some offering 50 years warranty instead of 25, or storm chasers offering to work on my behalf with the insurance companies, and some who shared their products and had the A+ ratings from BBB and/or Google. So I combed the ratings and found Harview, with the same guy coming back offering a free quote. Now in those years I learned to look for the following: A company who has been in the roofing industry for decades. (No fly by nights) A company who hires their employees versus ones who sell the job to a low bid contractor. (Someone who hires roofers and not carpenters.) A company who offers different manufacturers for quality products. (Options) A company who has a good warranty for their products and craftsmanship. (I think all do.) Free estimates with no pressure to sign. (Most wanted me to sign something and have my partner sign on that same day.) A company that offers a few payment options. A company who wouldn't force us to put in a new gutter or soffit system. (Ours was done 6 years prior and was working.) So it came down to two companies that were willing. But Harview hit the mark for longevity. So I called the company and the salesman came back out, but he was the owner too. He had been to my house several times before. Everything felt right. All the above boxes were checked. All that was left was the install. And after the install, I can tell you I found two small errors. Some flashing was a bit loose and a railing pole was off. I called the next day and by the following day it was fixed. So I walked around the house and I have zero complaints. They removed my direcTV antenna, encased my chimney and cleaned the perimeter, which never looked so nice. I mean they cleaned the materials but also took the excess leaf piles where some materials might have fallen. And the price was competitive. My first impression of this company was on the heels of Peter Deily; he was very pleasant,…read moreinformative and detailed about the windows, roof, and siding it the company offered and the installation prep/process. I did not decide on contracting the company for my roofing and siding projects as I found another company with the same materials used and did the job for less then this company quoted. I decided in May 2025 to go with this company for my window project that included 13 double hinged windows and 1 picture window. After signing the contract, I was informed that I would be receiving a contact over the weekend for a foreman to come out and do official window measurements for the ordering of the windows. I was called on Wednesday of the following week by a gentleman only to say " I am 20 minutes out from you." I didnt understand how he decided to just impose and not make contact prior to set up an appointment as I was told was to happen. This was the beginning of red flags. However, we made it work out as I work and was not available for this impromptu measuring. On June 12, 2025 I was phoned to alert of my windows were coming in and to set up installation appointment. I settled for June 16, 2025 starting at 8am, if weather permits. I took off of work and had all window blinds/ covering down and furniture moved 2 ft away from windows as instructed; this was a lot of work. On 6/16/25 at approximately 945ish am I received a call from a female whom informed me that the installation had to be cancelled for the date as its raining. My issue with this situation was that the company (humans) knew that it was going to rain in the beginning couple hours of the morning and could have cancelled over the weekend to be considerate of my time and not have me sitting around the house using leave from work unnecessarily; the weather forecast is online. In addition, I had to get the window coverings put back up for security and privacy. The installation occurred on 6/24/25. The company had a crew that came out whom seemed okay. I had to request that they use foot coverings; this should be a requirement and something I did not need to ask. They started upstairs in the bedrooms. They placed covering on the beds. However while working they placed tools and water bottles on my wood furniture, which was a NO NO. I didnt understand the lack of respect for my property. The crew removed old windows that were put in when the house was built 30 years ago. As they installed I noticed the windows had about a 2-3 in gap all around. That was quite alarming if the windows were measured correctly. They sprayed foam as I was explained in the gaps but NEVER pur window flashing up as I was told they would. They put caulk up only. The caulking was very messing and large amounts on my newly replaced siding. Thet also cracked the siding on the rear by the light fixture. By using the ladder and thumping it harshly up against the house; assuming it was too heavy for onw person to move creating the behavior. With that created divets in my composite front bump out with ladder prints from the cross bar type thing attached to the ladder on multiple areas. Also they didnt clean up their mess. I called after they finishes to alert of issues. It took me a couple times and then I got one of the workers that came out. Then the owner. I was not too pleased with the owner as he rushed and overspoke me as ig I dont know what to look for and wasnt very pleasant and condescending. After speaking with the owner he came out tje following Monday. And later that afternoon it rained and water poured from the front bumpout kitchen window. I called owner back on facetime so he could see the activity. The owner came out the nexr day with the crew. He walked around and said the wimdow job looks nice but never addressed my window flashing issue. However the leaking window was due to the seals around the composite bump out beinh pushed and detached; consistent with the ladder pressing on it as stated prior. The crew damaged the window metal frame and caulked it in the living room. It was never corrected or fixed. It was brought to the owners attention as well. The crew resealed the areas. The messy caulk on the back and siding, the crew actually cleaned it up the day of the window installation. The crew left dirty hand prints on my white bedroom dresser and on the walls bear bedroom front window. The crew cut out areas of my window ledge and caulked over it and it was never correctes after bringing it to owners attention. Also all stickers and hand prints were left on windows. This should have been cleaned up. The crew did not clean up their mess as I was promised. Because of my experience with the seemingly condescending attitude and over and quick talking I will not be able to give a rating higher then a 3.

I selected Liberty largely based on representations that the work would be performed by in-house crews rather than subcontractors, and that quality workmanship was a priority. Unfortunately, the project did not meet those expectations. The initial installation resulted in widespread workmanship deficiencies, including improper siding installation, flashing issues, trim defects, and other items later documented by both an independent inspector and a manufacturer representative. As a result, Liberty had to remove and reinstall significant portions of the work. While Liberty ultimately undertook remediation, the process was prolonged, difficult to manage, and required extensive homeowner oversight. Remediation details were not consistently documented in writing, work was at times scheduled or attempted without prior coordination, and key quality-control steps, such as clear verification milestones and final walkthrough procedures, had to be repeatedly requested. Even after remediation, there were disputes regarding scope reductions, credits, and whether the project could be considered complete without a formal walkthrough and customer acceptance. I incurred additional out-of-pocket costs for independent inspections, legal consultation, and missed work time in order to reach an acceptable outcome. In fairness, Liberty did return to address issues and did not walk away from the project. However, the overall experience fell far short of what I would expect for a premium-priced renovation. Homeowners considering Liberty should be prepared to document everything carefully, confirm who will perform the work, and ensure that all remediation and close-out terms are clearly defined in writing before proceeding.

What stood out the most is I'm very particular about my clean home with no marks/scratches/scrapes on the wall and clean carpet. It seems every time I have a contractor come in, they mark my wall or some how create more work for me. In this instance the contractor was extremely careful not to bump walls with his equipment. They replaced the entire firebox which, was very labor intensive, as they had to cut through two very thick steal boxes taking a few days to complete. Upon completion they ripped out all the old brick and replaced with new brick, along with prepping the chimney itself for a new steal flu. The final steps were replacing the chimney caps, spray washing the outside portion getting rid of all the black ash marks then applying a water protecting formula. Josh, Jeremy and their entire crew were very friendly, and took the time to answer all my questions and explain every step of the process. My Ahren fire place looks awesome, it's so smooth and clean looking. I would unquestionably hire them again for any Chimney Services, as they were a definite A+ team, they did an outstanding job.

Clift Inc. is wholly dishonest, does not complete the work, will not return to correct their incomplete work, and blocks your phone number(s) when you attempt to work with the owner (Gary Clift) to receive a full refund or complete the service. First Warning Sign - Will not accept Credit Cards for services. With a Credit Card, you can dispute the Charges. Fire-Safe is then required to either complete the services or have the Credit Card Company refund your payment. In my case, I am out $475 (Check). I contracted with Fire-Safe to clean my chimney on 12/7/23, only to have the smoke back up into the house an hour after they left the home. I called Fire-Safe (Gary) immediately (12/7/23), Gary stated he would call back that afternoon, but there was no call Back as of 12/18/23. I attempted to call Fire-Safe on 12/18/23, to find my phone number Blocked by Fire-Safe. Second Warning Sign - When you call the Owner 'Gary' they Block your phone number on all their lines. Blocking the call is evidenced by the call going directly to voice Mail on the first ring. Clearly, there is no expectation of a 'Return Client'. When you call from a phone number Fire-Safe has not blocked, they answer immediately or quickly return the call. Yes, this is real and occurred on 12/18/23. Gary returned a call from my work phone within one minute of calling. Gary said he would call me back the following day (12/19/23) however, Fire-Safe has now blocked my work phone and will not return the call. Third Warning Sign - I spoke to Gary on 12/18/2023, he lied to me claiming Maryland Law prohibits Chimney Sweeps from going on a roof to clean the Chimney Cap. To verify Gary's assertion of a Law or Regulation against servicing the Chimney Cap at the roof end of a Chimney, I contacted the Maryland Department of Labor (MD-DOL) that regulates Maryland Chimney Sweep Contractors to ask if this was a Maryland law or regulation? The MD-DOL Employee stated that the Chimney Sweep was not being honest, that there is no such law or regulation, and to stay away. Sadly, this advice is too late for me. If you are reading this, it is not too late for you and your wallet. As of 12/19/23, there has been no response or contact from Gary Clift or Fire-Safe, and my 2-phone numbers remain Blocked. I will call from a new phone number to inform Gary and Fire-Safe of the Maryland Home Improvement Commission Complaint, the BBB Complaint, and Social Media Reviews we are posting in hopes others will not experience our loss of $475, an incomplete job, and how Fire-Safe has rendered our wood stove unusable until I pay a reputable Chimney Sweep to properly complete the work.
