Took a roadtrip to check out two Erewhons. Overall it's similar to shopping at Whole Foods. What I loved about the store was the cleanliness. It's clean and all the labels are aligned and facing out. In my opinion, the smoothies are delicious but I prefer the ones I make myself. The produce looked fresh. The sushi was good for supermarket sushi. Overall a decent experience. It's Erewhon, so there's only so much that's going to distinguish one from another...and you're likely going in knowing what to expect (for the most part). That being said...this one is just fine, but a little bit underwhelming, if I'm being honest. The entrance is a little bit awkwardly situated and I got confused at first about how to actually enter. There's a nice little outdoor patio space that is shaded and decent enough to eat at...it's also why I struggled with the entrance - you would think it's there (they have a door to the building), but it's not. It's actually at the other end for the actual customer entrance. Once inside, it all feels a little bit cramped and difficult to move around anywhere without other people constantly bumping into you. The line for the checkout is also ridiculously windy and long...seemed quite unnecessary (in my opinion). Other than that, it's the same products/food/overpriced smoothies you'd expect from Erewhon. I got a combo plate of salmon, macaroni, and some salad from the hot bar for like $40....*spoiler alert* ....it wasn't worth it. AT ALL. But again - you likely know what to expect for the most part if you're an Erewhon regular. As for this location? Just...meh! read more

I was so excited to come here. After seeing word of the opening on SM. I knew I wouldn't be able to make it, but my favorite Pasadena employee told me he helped open the store and about the space. He soothed my concern about parking, I had to go to Mothers so I figured why not. He said the store comes alive after 8. I got there at 9. He wasn't wrong. First and foremost, ITS BEAUTIFUL! I love the design but most of all, it's spacious! I love Pasadena bc it is too, but this store makes Pas look small and has ruined me from ever returning to Sportsmen's Lodge! The cafe closes at 9, there was a combination of a couple being helped/served and people removing dishes. I saw a couple salads I wanted, a lady in bread proactively asked someone to help me - which i very much appreciated. They had a few different things. One item I was looking for in Pas and a couple I had just never seen before. Like extra bubbly sparkling water from Japan. They had the case of Ella Mai strawberries. I haven't seen the single in some time. Then they had some other Japanese strawberries sold in packs of 3, it cost less than the Ella Mai $20 berry (which I'd absolutely do again) so I figured why not. Trying it today! The bathrooms are all gender and lots of stalls. No more lines for the ladies room - insert happy dance. Staff was super nice. I'm still trying to figure out why I'm ok w biometrics when it comes to Erewhon, but I'm all set up here now too. Parking was easy. Even on a Saturday night I found a spot right out front. Have you ever been shopping at Whole Foods Market and thought to yourself "this is a really nice grocery store with insanely high prices. I only wish that there was a competitor with even higher astronomical prices that offers something just a little bit different!". Erewhon is here to fulfill your wishes! They've got 5 star Japanese restaurant quality sushi and sashimi nachos and poke bowls and chirashi that you won't find at any other grocery stores, great soups made in store hot and fresh (or at least reheated) or cold in Mason jars for heating up at home. An expansive deli area with exotic store made salads and other goodies unique to Erewhon which look incredible. This is one of those grocery stores where it's best to not look at the prices and just select whatever looks good to throw into your shopping cart. That's the only way you can shop here without going into a heart attack. The quality justifies the sky high prices though and it's no doubt the cleanest and most pleasant grocery store I have ever been in. Everything is perfect from the great and loud music to put you into the high end ultra luxury grocery shopping vibes to the way that even the produce is chopped and stacked in ready to go containers. They've really mastered presentation in every little aspect here. The service is fast and friendly in every department too. I seriously don't get the hype. Paid over $25 per smoothie and both drinks were incredibly mid. The Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie and Malibu Mango Smoothie tasted like overpriced juice that's taste like ass and it's something you could get at Jamba Juice for half of its price For $69.67+,tax I expected something that would blow me away, the drinks themselves are mid as hell. Some people might find it a little bland at first because they make it very clean ,for example, one of the items we had used regular tuna instead of spicy tuna mixed with a bunch of sauces and MSG. But you can really taste the freshness and quality, and there's zero concern about whether they're using top-tier ingredients. But the pizza was disappointing this time. The only reason we ordered it was because we had previously tried a slice of their wood-fired Margherita pizza, and it was SO good, super cheesy, flavorful, and fresh. Hello, I wanted to share my disappointment regarding two recent experiences at Erewhon. The first was at the hot bar, where the employee assisting me was extremely rude and seemed miserable taking my order, which made the experience very uncomfortable. The second experience was more upsetting. I was stopped while entering with my service animal and answered the questions I'm legally required to answer. I was then told that wasn't "good enough," asked for a certificate, and questioned further about my dog. The employee ultimately said he would close the register and refuse service. With that moving forward, I will be giving business to Laurel supply. The interaction felt very uncomfortable and discriminatory, and I hope this feedback is taken seriously. Thank you read more

This is a beautiful store and very organized ...this evening I needed help in the face cleansing department, and I was greeted by a friendly sales associate by the name of Brittany and I would like to say that she gave me excellent service tonight. She showed me the several different face mask that I could buy, and more importantly, the face scrubs that I Could buy, she opened each one so I could smell them each and showed me the significant ingredients in each one she is an excellent ambassador for this company and for any company.. when time comes for a promotion please think of Brittany who helped me tonight in the beauty department She is a shining example of what customer service is and this is how customer service should be brought back ..because a lot of stores are missing that personal touch and she went beyond pointing out where the products were. She explained them to me and opened them for me and showed me the samples.. i've lived here at Sunset in Doheny since 1991. I've seen sales people come and go and stores come and go. I went here with 3 other friends and we all enjoyed our smoothies except one friend who got the new mango one and I liked the spicy crunchy rice it was just mid, but my friend got this over priced buffalo cauliflower and beef with mac and cheese, I only tried her cauliflower bites and it was very vinegary not that great. The vibe inside was nice, the workers that helped me were very nice but my friends got assisted with kinda weird workers. Overall I think this erewhon location is pretty nice. read more

Had the chance to visit the new west Hollywood Erewhon for their grand opening and was impressed. The staff was warm and attentive, and the space is stunning, bright, modern, and very well laid out. It's only about a 15 minute walk from our place, which makes it a great place to stop by every once in a while and meet some new friends. read more
