He's honest, fairly priced, and I love that he knows I have an interest in the health and well being of my car so he always talks me through what was completed. I was looking at a used car from an unnamed car lot on Lankershim and even though it looked and felt great I knew I needed to have a 3rd party mechanic inspect it. I called a few places and they either didn't have time right away(understandable) or they didn't do inspections like that for second hand buyers. I guess some see it as a liability..? My poor ol' car has over 130K miles on him and was in need of some work and maintenance. I treasure my simple little car and am very careful about who I trust to work on him. I was fortunate enough to find Eric via word-of-mouth. It's not easy to find a trustworthy mechanic and I was very worried about finding a good one here, having just recently moved to LA...from what I can tell so far, he's definitely earned my trust. Eric is very straightforward and honest--no BS. Best of all, he doesn't treat me like some little girl who doesn't know a thing about cars. I originally went to him because my car started making a very weird, high-pitched noise that I wasn't familiar with. I was looking for someone who could diagnose it for a reasonable fee and be able to repair it without ripping me off or trying to upsell. I was able to make an appointment the same day and he was able to accurately diagnose the problem--the AC compressor...AND he did not charge me to diagnose the car! Since then, I've had no problems with the noise and have returned to get an oil change, as well as my brakes done. Eric always gives me a breakdown of what I'm being charged for and tells me what he's doing. I've been able to get same day or next day appointments with him so far. Needed an oxygen sensor replaced in my car, Eric's auto repair handled it perfectly, professionally, and quickly so I could get my smog certification passed. The dealership tried to use fear tactics about my rusted pipes from the car being out of state. When I brought my car in for Eric to check it out, he easily loosened up the oxygen sensor from the pipes and said it would work out no problem. Did Toyota even try? I doubt it. As the other Yelpers have commented, Eric is very honest, friendly and professional. I brought my car in because I tore off the side panel parking too close to a high side walk in Studio City. I called and Eric had me bring my car in versus sending a picture or trying to assess damage over the phone. He inspected my car and informed me I only needed brackets and to not get a new side panel because that would be costly.Eric gave me his card and sent me to the dealership to order the brackets. He instructed me to show the car so the cashier knew to use his account because he gets a discount - every bit of savings helps. I brought the car back and he installed the panel free of charge but asked if I had any service needs to bring my car to him. I needed an oil change so he changed it on the spot and put air in my tires, topped off my fluids. My service cost me under $53 (with tax). I love this place! read more

Truly as good as it gets! Figured I better write this as I usually put this in my procrastination pile. Own a old Lexus GS300 in pristine condition. Every repair ( mostly maintenance) has been done by a Lexus mechanic and only Lexus parts are ever used. Time arrived for my 2nd timing belt...180k service and everything else involved when preforming this task. I had requested a estimate from my longtime mechanic and found it to be much too expensive ( my opinion, i'm definitely not qualified or I would do it myself) for a car this old. Many times I thought to myself I must be crazy to just not go out and buy a new car and not deal with this, but after investing thousands to maintain over the past few years it really wasn't an option since I'm sure a dealer would likely give me less for it than what I paid for on this last service. Blah, blah blah.. long story short, after asking around, my wonderful friends whom I trust, highly recommended Eric. I was hesitant since I live in Long Beach and the shop is in North Hollywood but it was well worth it. Eric and Nathalie are the niecest and most honest people I have some across in the business. Eric was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. He knew what he was doing, did the job fast and efficient. He even went out of his way to correct issues that were done half assed by the dealer the first time the belt was done. They kept me informed of all costs and even sent pictures as Eric did the work. When I showed up, my engine compartment was spotless and it appeared my car had been washed even though rain was in the forecast. For most people, going to a mechanic induces the same feelings as going to a proctologist. No one is every enthused to go, except when I take my car into Eric. I had another fantastic experience with Eric this week. I wanted to start working on some problems on my old BMW 330i and you'd be surprised how many YouTube "experts" have no clue what they are talking about. This is my second time posting about a truly great experience regarding Eric's Auto Repairs. Eric has been servicing my car for many years and I've never met another guy who is more trust worthy or honest. No matter what time of day I call, Eric has always been very accommodating to get my car in for service or repairs. My last repair was replacing the crank shaft position sensor and brake pads on both axels. When I got the car back it drove and sounded better than new. Eric always walks me around my car while it's up on the lift and give me a full breakdown of everything that happening or could happen to my car. i have many friends who go to this guy and when my warranty with the dealership was finally done i was actually excited to go to this guy, thinking, finally i can stop getting screwed over. i went in for a regular service, and the price seemed fine, and they got my car back to me relatively quickly. as i mentioned, many of my friends go here so when Eric suggested that i would need new brakes at my next oil change i believed him. i took my car in for the most expensive new breaks ever at $350. my brakes squeaked a little but it wasn't that big of a deal and i thought the next time i go in...when I'll need my other set of brakes changed( according to Eric), I'll have them looked at. i took my car in for the second set of breaks and an oil change, while my car is at the shop i get a phone call from them telling me that they are holding my car hostage, they won't release it to me because it's not safe to drive, they'll get back to me. when they call back they say "oh lucky you, we just need to give you a fluid flush for just under $100 and you can have your car back, and of course we changed the breaks ($350) and we'll do that oil change for $99. " $99 for an oil change! when i complained they explained that they'd switched me over to synthetic oil and it was more expensive, since you don't have to get it changed every 3,000 it's a better deal....but....i should bring it in every 3,000 anyway. i complained more until they brought the price down to $40, which is still an expensive oil change for my 4 cylinder car. driving away i notice an awful screeching sound, my car sounds like a bus. i end up taking my car back to have the break situation fixed, and Eric tried to tell me it had something to do with the bad job done on my back brakes (really, Eric, cause you did those to) i take my car back (and get chastised for not calling sooner, i had been out of town and it had been over a week since the last time the car was there.) my brakes still squeak, though not as badly. I'll have someone else fix them, i never want to see Eric's place again. read more
