The guys that clean the pool do a good job, the office management is terrible. They change my day, never bother to let me know, meanwhile I lock up my dogs waiting for them to arrive. When I call asking if they're coming the office guy says "oh we changed your day". They didn't come New Years week, again no one let me know they take off that week. I purchased some Nichless lights from Ernie's because they were able to provide me with all the details associated with them. Jandy can be a tough company to get details about their products and Ernie's staff was extremely knowledgeable. After picking up the lights and getting a few pointers I was able to start replacing my lights DIY. Unfortunately I was impatient and ended up messing up the install on two of the lights. Luckily I called and was connected with Renee....He was able to come out same day and with my "expert" help we were able to run the two additional lights. Within 15 minutes we selected our choices and within the week his guys were working on our pool! All of his crew were the hardest working, polite and friendly guys you could ask for. They were determined to get the job done in 4 days, including a surprise issue that came up with our Jacuzzi, - and they met their goal! They completely cleaned our pool area afterwards. We were able to enjoy the pool again within a week of starting our job. The motto Renee has (and instills in his workers) "We want to make our customers happy" is really true. Renee even took me around to see past client's pools so I could decide if the finish I chose was going to work. The new Pebble Tec finish makes a huge difference. Upon the knowing that it still wasnt functioning properly, he worked with Earnie's to help rectify the situation. I still think that Ernie's needs to work on their communication and commitment with customers, but the fact that they were able to rectify the situation was really good. The new Jandy unit (with the bypass valve) was recommended. It is almost half the size of the original, is nearly 50% more efficient than the previous model, and comes with a 5 year + warranty. I am thrilled with the fair price (quoted several others that were more expensive) and super-clean installation. Bravo! I was also interested learning more about updated electronic control systems. After thoroughly explaining the advantages and improvements in wireless control, I bought a new iAquaLink from Ernie's Pool. It was another terrific recommendation from a trusted service partner. This is for their pool service and store. Previous pool service (different company) was amazing but he retired. He sold his contracts to Ernies and we've had them for the last four or five months. The first time they showed up, they parked in my driveway (guess they figured I wasn't home because the car was in the garage). They've no-showed three times in the last four months, most recently on 4th July week when the pool was in use. I stopped by the store to say that I hadn't seen them and the sign-in sheet also showed they hadn't been here. Left a message, was told i'd get a call back. Nothing. No response. I ended up buying some chlorine to keep my pool from going green and having a week of down time. The store when I walked in, the woman was busy sitting down watching a video on her phone. I said "hi" when i walked in and she acknowledged me. Then i waited at the counter for a couple minutes while she continue to watch her video. Uhhh...really? I finally asked if she could help me and she said the video was really funny. Terrible service top to bottom. My wife and I have been homeowners in Almaden Valley for 45 years. We have serviced and maintained our pool for all those years. As equipment aged and needed replacement, we always left that chore to the pros. Several years ago, we replaced the pump and mechanical timers with a variable speed pump with computerized controls. We never could master the setup or resets. On several occasions we had to ask the equipment retailer (a nationally recognized pool supply company) to send out technicians to help us. They knew less than we did. This is when Ernie's was recommended to us by an independent water leak specialist. Through Ernie's, we changed to a phone app controlled system. While this system is still somewhat confusing to us non-techies, the guidance, response and expertise of Rene and Mauricio at Ernie's have been without peer. RUN AWAY FROM THIS SERVICE COMPANY. Purchased Pentair filter and paid for them to replumb Intelliflo pump/heat, filter system and new Suntouch controller (very confusing time clock). Ernie's (pool professionals NOT!) installed pump incorrectly per manufacturer's specs and system leaked from day one. Owner (Jeff) came out twice couldn't fix leak (even tried using silicon sealant instead of teflon sealant) twice but still didn't work. His customer service attitude and lack of knowledge with these Pentair products convinced me NEVER USED THEM AGAIN. read more

I bought a pump from Ernies last summer to power my skimmer. Last Friday I noticed that it was leaking and called Ernies to tell them about the problem. The lady on the phone looked my name up and said that she could have the technicians on on Monday. The two technicians came out and fixed the leak. They also tested the water in the pool (no charge) and gave me some advice. I found Ernie's to be responsive, reliable, and reasonably priced. I needed a new pump for my pool and called Ernie's on Memorial Day. They weren't open, so I left a message. I received a call back the next morning (Tuesday), and the service rep came to my house on Wednesday. He gave me a good quote and included a PG&E rebate in the total. I accepted the bid on Thursday, and the pump was installed on Friday. On Friday afternoon, Ernie's called and made sure everything was OK and took my credit card number. I received the receipt and rebate paperwork in Saturday's mail. All this took place without my ever needing to be at home. I had all pool equipment replaced at my home. Filter pump (from single-speed to variable speed), jetspa pump, filter (from DE to cartridge), installed several new 3-way valves and a new controller with automatic control of all equipment including solar heating and gas heating. My pool was a huge mess (dirt and algae) and green in color as my filter pump had stopped working for 2-3 months. The crew came in and did an excellent job. They installed all equipment and cleaned up the pool. They found several other issues and provided a quotation for the work and described what it would take to fix them.
