Really fun escape room, we did the Ink & Ashes escape room (1 hour) which was pretty difficult but really fun and rewarding! The puzzles were creative and loved the progression of the story. nk & Ashes is a fantastic, story driven room. I'm always a sucker for good narrative and this room has that in spades (pun intended). The room has a good mix of locks and high tech stuff, with a lot of really cool special effects and story moments. The puzzles are mostly non-linear, and would be great for a group of 4. In terms of difficulty, I'd rate this one as medium-hard. Our family of 4 escaped with about 13 minutes left. Our GM David was great. Definitely my favorite of the 3 Exodus rooms I've done so far. read more

I've recently started picking up playing escape games again and stumbled upon Ink & Ashes here at Exodus in Tustin. Emmanuel is exactly the kind of person you'd want running your game--Friendly, enthusiastic, and very mindful in honoring how you want your clues given. For the game itself, Ink & Ashes has not only an excellent set design but the puzzles and the flow of the puzzles itself were quite well thought out too, there was never a puzzle that didn't seem out of place nor was it too frustrating to figure out. After the room, once again Emmanuel was again SUPER awesome at answering questions that we had, receptive to feedback, and even showed us some easter eggs about the room. Moreover, he even managed to convince us to completing another room (Elixir) that same day at their Anaheim location. 10/10 Experience, would love to forget and re-do it all over again! read more

Be careful when using GPS to get here. I ended up in a neighborhood instead. Thankfully they weren't too far from each other. Just remember this escape room is located off the 55 and McFadden. Ryan was our host and was very accommodating. From all the Christmas rooms I've done, Clark's Crazy Christmas was my favorite. The set design quality was great and without being too overly festive. The puzzles were straightforward and fun to solve. I've seen many similar puzzles from other rooms I've done but I thought they were better executed with Exodus. read more

The set was very thematic and the way they used the lighting made some moments super thrilling and tense. The puzzles were non linear, which meant that our party of four could work on different things without huddling around one puzzle. I would personally rate the room as medium/hard (more on the hard side) difficulty as we escaped with seconds on the clock and used one hint. Ryan, the Game master, was super knowledgeable and we had a blast talking to him about escape rooms. Honestly made the experience a 11/10. read more

There were 4 of us in my group, and would say the room is about medium/hard as the difficulty. Our game master, Emanuel, really set the tone for the night. Awesome ink & ashes escape room and loved the flow. Pretty linear but the tasks were fun and very rewarding. It's listed as hard and I would say it is correct for those not too seasoned in escape rooms, but for avid enthusiasts I think it could be a high medium difficulty. There's quite a bit to do though so be mindful of time. We just squeezed by with 49 seconds left to spare and with no hints! Our family of 4 really enjoyed this room and really felt accomplished as we escaped. I highly recommend this as a must do, especially if you've got a good amount of rooms done under your belt. We're still talking about it and analyzing our tasks hours after completing it, so I feel they did a successful job immersing us in the story. On a side note, our GM Ryan was way cool and threw a little easter egg in the game for my birthday. It was a nice touch. He even spent a good amount of time talking with us after about the room, which is always a plus! He really took our experience to another level with just his enthusiasm. Decided to take my friends to do an escape room to start my Birthday night! This was only my third room, my boyfriend had only done one before and this was the first for the other three members of my party! It was really cool and the puzzles were tricky but not impossible.. however this might have been a little tough for so many newbies! However, it was still really cool and very clever! We were a group of six with varied skill levels from first timers to experienced enthusiasts, and it felt like everyone got a chance to participate and have "lightbulb" moments. Clark's Crazy Christmas was such a FUN room!! Whether or not you love the movie Christmas Vacation, you'll love this escape room. Not so difficult that you can't figure things out, but hard enough to make the puzzles challenging. Very family friendly and full of opportunities to work together which would be great for team building groups as well. Not sure why it says Santa Ana - it's right off the 55 at McFadden and basically across the street from the Jewelry Exchange which is in Tustin. But regardless, super easy to get to right off the freeway. Area is an industrial/business park with lots of safe, well-lit parking. Highly recommend checking out this holiday themed room! read more
