This truly feels like the only actually kid-friendly escape room I've come across in Orange County. We brought a 6-year-old and a 3-year-old, and not only did they both have fun, but the 6-year-old genuinely led the charge and solved most of the puzzles independently. The 3-year-old loved it too, which says a lot. What also stood out was how much thought and effort clearly went into the room design and technology. Jeremy explained some of it to us afterward, and even though he described it as rudimentary, our minds were kind of blown. You can tell a lot of care went into creating an experience that feels immersive, playful, and actually doable for kids. It's such a good summertime or year-round activity because you get a full hour in an air-conditioned space, off your phones, doing something interactive together. If you're looking for a family-friendly, kid-friendly group activity for around 3 to 7 or 8 people, this is such a good one. The concept is also just really cute and fun. You get to pretend to be cats in a litter box/play area, unleash your inner child, and think outside the box a little. Would absolutely recommend for families. read more

Had a blast! We came here to try the 13th basement room. Which was a nice twist on parody horror escape rooms. It was definitely more on spooky vibes, and funny (to me) not very scary. Although there are some jump scares. Overall, this is a super cool escape room with many different aspects and puzzles. It was super cool for our game master to break everything down afterwards, and to learn more about the development of the rooms. It's super unique and you can tell they love what they do, which only makes us players admire it more. After finishing our first room we were offered a discount if we did the other room as well on the same day, and of course we had to try out the kitties. It was super cute and we had a blast, even as a grown adults. I really enjoyed our time here learning more about the development and puzzles. Thanks again! We have had the 13th basement room on our radar for a long time but it requires a minimum of three people. We recently started doing escape rooms with another couple so we finally did this room and it was definitely worth the wait. This is probably one of the biggest rooms we have done and there are all kinds of great puzzles that definitely require teamwork. I think this is the only room we have done where they actually let you take pictures inside the game, but obviously with the promise to not give anything away. There are some good scares but nothing extreme and there is a fun twist at the end. Luckily we didn't need too much help, but Abisai was a great game master. After we escaped, he gave us a whole walk-through of the game and answered all questions about it. Before and after the game we had some great conversation about various escape rooms in the area. They are working on some new rooms and we can't wait to return and try them. The 13th basement is definitely highly recommended! read more

What a fun experience and new ways to experience an escape room! The game masters sure put a lot of heart and soul into the creation of this game and it shows. The puzzles were fun and captivating and made you think outside the box. The pictures you get are really fun too! This room, even though very Saw themed, was not scary - it mostly paid homage to the horror franchise. A few jump scares, but nothing that the normal person couldn't laugh off. From the moment we stepped in, we were surrounded by hieroglyphic cats, glowing white eyes, and just enough mystery to make us feel like feline adventurers. The puzzles were clever and super creative--digging through a "litter box" for clues had us laughing, and challenge was brilliant. I've been behind on this review, but I think about this place often. We played their 13th Basement room last year and I still have to smile anytime the memory of being there pops into my head. Wildly creative- I'd call this the escape room enthusiast's escape room. That's not to say there's no fun to be had by beginners or newbies to the escape room world, but there are so many tongue-in-cheek references to the industry as a whole. The puzzles are creative, fun, and unique. The game is great for groups as there are some solid communication and teamwork oriented puzzles. The only thing I would mention as a warning is that there is some gore and campy horror throughout the experience, but if that doesn't bother you then this should be at the top of your list in the OC! read more

The 13th basement!! If you are looking for a scary escape room that you can get the right amount of scare but also not be like too terrified and laugh your butt off this definitely hits those marks. We went in questioning like what is a horror comedy room. We did not look too much into it as we wanted to like go in kinda blind. I went in a group of three. One of us is amazing at puzzles, one it was their first time in an escape room who wanted a horror one but not an intense horror one, and me who is still new to puzzles of escape rooms but has been dragged into a few intense (in my opinion) horror rooms where I was dead weight and just hiding lol. The rooms were immersive and had us laughing and screaming. Mostly laughing at how much we were screaming and jumping. The puzzles were like the perfect amount of brain power for like beginners but still challenging enough/ fun for the puzzle people. There were lots of creative pieces in the design that I don't want to go too in detail as to not spoil it. Definitely need to work as a team though and those were the type of puzzles my group likes because it allowed us all at our different levels to participate and have fun. We were talking about this escape room all night at our dinner because of how much fun we had. We would definitely recommend it for any people who love horror films, horror escape rooms, and want to get a good laugh. As for me a scaredy cat who kinda likes horror but has been a teenie bit traumatized but the intense ones this was a perfect like middle ground of immersion and puzzle solving without being in intense fight or flight LOL. It was fun, scary, and an awesome fun time. The puzzles were complex, but not too hard. For a group with minimal experience we survived with a few helpful hints! Tbh, we probably didn't need the hint but we kept psyching ourselves out and was screaming at how scared we were haha. I definitely recommend this game and the owners were very sweet and are lovers of escape rooms too! I can't wait to see what else they have planned! This was just a lot of fun. We are a family of 5, kids 15, 12, and 10 and they couldn't stop talking about it the next day. Game was very creative and clever, solvable with elbow grease (and some hints), just enough scary for Halloween but tolerable for the younger kids, and super fun puzzles that everyone could participate in. Came to Exit Game this past weekend to celebrate my nieces birthday and we had so much fun! From the start we were nicely greeted by the owners. The escape room was so fun and creative. We had a few scares that had us screaming and running. We were a group of six and we all rate this escape room a 10/10!! I've been to a few escape rooms and this was one of my favorites. When my child got scared in the beginning first going in the room he was very understanding and offered to keep the door open just incase.
