The 3 ladies working (Jacqueline, Johanna, and Marie) were lovely and attentive to all guests. What an incredible, peaceful oasis in the middle of the Hartford Airport. I travel the world over for work and what sets this lounge apart on a global scale is its staff. Hopefully you'll run into Adam, a bartender who is the consummate host. He also runs around the lounge to make sure each guest has what they need for their visit. The staff here are caring and genuine and insist that each guest leaves satisfied. I arrived early in the morning and enjoyed a European breakfast of hot espresso, a crispy croissant and creamy greek yogurt with fresh berries. I told them that I had never been before and they gave me the rundown and made it very clear they were there to help. Boy have things changed. I used to stop in regularly at The Escape Lounge where it was quieter and less hectic than by the gate. Won't be visiting there again unless something changes. There was no one at the desk when I got there -had to wait 5 to 10 minutes - the food offerings were almost non existent, and the tables were full of used glasses and plates the whole time I was there. This place is simply unclean. There was a bunch of nasty old crumbs, spilled sauces and gunk at the foot of the bar, for example. The bathroom was a complete disaster, far worse than regular airport bathrooms. Staffers eating their meals and complaining to each other instead of filling drinks. No one was at the desk when I arrived. After a few minutes, when I asked a staff person how to check in, she snapped that she was talking to another customer. Very few food choices, including dried out and cold 'spinach egg bake'. Waited at bar to ask for a sparkling water, was told it would be $3.19 (!). Turned out there is a soda dispenser with sparkling water, but difficult to operate and sprays explosively. Worst lounge I've been to in quite a while. What a great addition to Bradley airport. The Escape lounge is great quite get a way while waiting for a flight . We stopped by on a Monday morning at 5 am while killing an 1.5 hrs for our flight to Jamaica. We were only 2 of 4 people that were there at there hour. As soon as the automatic door closed behind us the noise of the typical airport traffic goes away. So relaxing, the presentation and display of the food offered are top notch . Tyler Anderson of Millwright restaurant is head chef / crafter of this menu . For breakfast it hit the spot. Definitely better than being surrounded by the crowds and long lines at food spots by the gates. read more

Stopped in for two hours before a flight tonight. Very crowded, food was consistently in short supply - but in fairness it is a small lounge and it was very busy. WiFi was so painfully slow that I gave up after awhile and used my jet pack. It was free to me so I can't really complain (and it beats sitting out by the gate searching for an outlet) The staff was very friendly and courteous and as attentive as they could be, but they had their hands full. My boyfriend and I visited this lounge yesterday for the first time and we were beyond satisfied. Andy welcomed us to the lounge and was very friendly and quickly had us enjoying a meal in the lounge before our flight. The Mac and cheese was hot and delicious and the short ribs were a great pre flight treat (and very unexpected for an airport lounge)! John served us a glass of wine and was also very friendly and welcoming. We have been to many airport lounges with our American Express benefits and I have to say this was our best experience yet. The Escape Lounge made my three-hour stay at Bradley International Airport ah-mazing. They had a reclusive lounge with comfortable seats, plenty of outlets, food and drinks for an all-inclusive price of $43 (I saved money by buying the pass online). I LOVED it. I was the only person there with three employees who brought me new glasses of wine every time I got low. I repeatedly got up for more little bites of food: tomato soup, quinoa salad and chocolate mousse. And every time I got up I didn't have to worry about leaving my suitcase because nobody else was there. They had freshly baked cookies and offered to give me some for my flight. Then there was the bathroom. It was private, clean and decorated nicely. There was plenty of room for me to bring my suitcase if I wanted. My time in the Escape Lounge was so surreal - so unlike what I'm used to - that I look forward to the next time I have a long wait at an airport. I won't have to squeeze my way into a crowded airport bar. I won't have to sit on the floor or search for an outlet. I'll have peace, quiet, food and drinks in a relaxing setting. read more

What a great place to kill some time before a flight! I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay the fee, but there was a groupon and it was well worth it! The atmosphere was very relaxed even if the lounge was full. The seating is comfortable, with different types depending on your needs and size of your party. There are plenty of places to plug in and charge your portables. The food selection for the "buffet" was good, clearly geared more towards snacking, but it worked. The bar does include a selection of included alcohol. The Prosecco was very popular today, but you could get beer, wine, or a cocktail from the included selections without too much difficulty. Premiums are available. What really shines here is the service. Andy and John were stellar from the moment I arrived and attentive during the two hours I "chilled" there. With many likely return trips to/from BDL, it is great to know that this option is here! read more

It had been about a year since I had the opportunity to visit the Escape Lounge, so it was definitely time that I re-visited! I was flying to Florida this past weekend, and saw that there was a Groupon deal for the Escape Lounge - of course I purchased it, and decided that I would arrive to the airport early to enjoy some time in the lounge while awaiting my flight. The best part of this visit? It was just as I had remembered it from a year ago! The customer service is beyond measure, the quality of food and beverages is still outstanding, and the bathrooms? I watched them be checked on by staff multiple times throughout my 2 hour visit to the lounge. This lounge was a pleasant surprise to find at Bradley. And even more pleasant was the worker: Jacqueline. What a lovely person! She was working the front of house solo on a Sunday morning. Checking people in...handling each person with patience and respect - even those who thought they could enter without the proper credentials were all handled perfectly. Then over to the bar to make drinks, then clearing tables. I think there were people in the back of house, but she was the only one on the floor. I don't know if that's the best management decision because it was very busy in there but she was handling it. I had to write, what a nice, nice and positive person who is genuinely happy with her job and the opportunity to meet all these people and serve them! Good for you, Jacqueline! And to that racist and misinformed man from Texas in the Harley T-shirt who believes that everyone in LA has AIDS...the irony! I have visited this lounge nearly every week for the last 6-months and can say that the staff is consistently nice and the food is delicious. The open bar options are particularly generous. The escape lounge is a wonderful and welcome addition to Hartford airport; the space is designed very well with many different food and drink options, as well as great natural light from the large windows looking out onto the tarmac. There's plenty of comfy seating, available places to plug in, and complimentary WiFi to get business (or Yelp reviews) done while you wait for your flight. My partner and I have now made it a practice to arrive a little early to BDL to relax, unwind, and enjoy the various amenities before our flight. If you're an AMEX cardholder with lounge access (or part of one of their other loyalty programs) be sure to stop in here and enjoy yourself. This place was a godsend and such a great deal! I had a lot of time to kill at the Bradley International Airport so I looked for a United Club but there isn't a location at this particular airport. So, instead I stumbled up Escape Lounge and couldn't believe not only the value of the day pass but the quality of the food and service. (With a Groupon) a pass was about $30 and I was there long enough to have breakfast, lunch, and a couple of cocktails. If I bought the equivalent of that in the terminal, I'm sure it would have been well over $50--even more with the drinks. The food is genuinely tasty and handmade on site. The buffet bar is constantly maintained and cleaned and the entire staff at the lounge was delightful. Marie was particularly sweet whether welcoming you at the front desk or pouring your drink with a smile. I can't recommend this place enough. Incredible value for the price and a great way to relax in comfort if you have a prolonged stay. read more

It's gone WAY down in value over the past year. Seems like they're usually 2 people short. List cost is $45 pp but is less with a $500 Amex card or other discounts. Empty tables are slow to be cleared of waste. No table service anymore. Bathrooms need more frequent cleanings. Food choices are decent WHEN they're available. Food at the central area is still good, BUT no large plates - only tiny plates today; no forks, only 3 soup bowls left and almost no soup, no cookies. The free vodka is Svedka - ugh. We got here about a half hour before closing but Andrew made us feel more than welcome and not at all rushed. Autumn also was helpful welcoming. The lounge is clean and comfortable with great amenities. If you have the time it is such a great place to wait before boarding your flight.
