The kick is that I didn't order a double. I asked for my drink. I did't specify if it was on the rocks or anything. I ordered my drink because it's a gamble to order a cocktail. It depends on who is making it and you might actually get the cocktail you ordered versus the bartender's interpretation of what the cocktail actually is. My order included my drink, 4 cocktails (for my friends) and an appetizer and my bill was almost $150. When I look, the added gratuity was over $20+. It's mind boggling that I am paying as much for gratuity as my nonexistent double but the service was subpar. The sad part is that I can't even say I wont be back because Matty D's is a part of our community. It is a safe space for many. It is a space where we can go alone and guaranteed to run into people you know if you are from the area. It is a place where you can enjoy a good vibe and make it home safe. So if anything comes from this review let it be to retrain your bartenders or get new ones. Get them certified so they can learn how to create a proper cocktail according to the State Alcohol Association and understand the importance of customer service.
