We ordered several trays of food for a large house party, including arroz con gandules and barbecue chicken wings. It was PERFECT! Everyone loved it. The ordering process (over the phone) was easy and the service, polite. They made great recommendations. It was takeout and I didn't pick it up so I can't comment on the ambiance. read more

Hubby and I stopped here for a quick lunch. The place is pretty big, it was very clean, but it is freezing inside. If your planning on sitting inside to eat and it's winter time, bring a jacket and a scarf lol. My husband who is always hot was complaining that was cold in there . However, I will say the food was amazing. I got rice with different pieces of meat bc I didn't want beans and I got pernil. The pernil was so good and so was the rice. Hubby got the rice with beans and fried chicken and he enjoyed it. I got a small and for me, It was enough for lunch for two days. Hubby got the bigger size and he had enough for lunch and some leftovers for a snack. Their portions are pretty big. They are not shy on their servings. I will definitely come back. The gentlemen behind the counter was super helpful on giving us some advice on what to get. Next time I will definitely want to try the pork skin. It looked so crisp. read more

My company just had a catered lunch from them and the food was outstanding. Empanadas, fried plantains, fried pork and chicken, etc. all of it absolutely delicious. (I didn't try the ziti, but it looked yummy!) The highlight for me, though, was their flan. Oh. My. God. It was tempting not to take and eat the entire tray. I don't have flan nearly as much as I'd like, and it's not always very good. Espinal's, however, is sooooooooo good. I usually prefer it to be very creamy, but this was slightly firm. Didn't matter. It was melt-in-mouth delicious. I don't normally go out of my way for Spanish or Caribbean food, but now I have a go-to in Danbury. It's worth the drive across town for me. read more

We were delighted to have Dominican food, and everyone was so excited that it was so delicious. They especially loved the empanadas and the chicken pastelón. Let's start with the amazing upgrade they have done to this phenomenal family oriented place, it's always clean and organized. Customer service is off the roof, they always have a smile on their faces no matter how busy they are . Now the best part, the food , it is succulent in flavors . While driving from Virginia to Massachusetts we came across this cozy food establishment. They serve delicious authentic Caribbean food. I had the chicken soup and it was like the one my mom makes at home. My fiancé had rice, beans and fried bananas. For dessert we had flan and that was to die for.Everything tasted homemade, flavorful and fresh. The food is very inexpensive as well. What a great find! Market/grocery with a kitchen that's putting out amazing dishes from Dominican Republic and the Caribbean at large quantity and low cost. Small $5, Large $7.50 and they load up whatever you point to. Barabacoa, Chicharrones, and Chicken stew were highlights, but everything was top notch. I've been coming here for over 10 years and this place is legitimately the best, the quality has never changed and remains outstanding. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The prices are great considering how much food you get and I love that it's always fresh and gives you that "home style" cooking feel. I've brought so many people to this place over the years and we all still DREAM about their food. I live in DC now but whenever I'm home for the holidays I always make a pit stop here for a hearty lunch and order a couple extra plates AT LEAST to take back to DC for meals for the week. While everything is great, i recommend the bistec (beef) and ask for plenty of broth (it's amazing), the chicharrones, and yellow rice, but honestly you can't go wrong with anything.
