The first sip of the Cardi B, my eyes rolled back, and I nodded to how good it was. The cardamom flavor is prominent, so if you don't like that flavor, I'd choose something else. I also ordered some breakfast items. I got the Lil' Verda, which is a breakfast burrito on a flour tortilla with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, avocado, and salsa verde ( I also added sausage to it). It's pretty tasty! It's a big burrito for being on a medium flour tortilla. I got the fiancé a breakfast sandwich on a brioche bun (you can choose what bread you want; they even have gluten-free) that came with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and I added bacon for him (adding a meat was only $2, which is reasonable). As I said, I pre-ordered everything on their online ordering system. My order was ready when I got there as promised. The staff member who helped me was super nice and pointed out where the hot sauce (Tapatio) and straws were. They do have separate windows for ordering and pickup. If you order online, just head to the pick-up window. It is a little spendy (breakfast sandwich w/ added meat $10.75, burrito w/ added sausage $12.75, and two espresso drinks at roughly $8 and some change), however, everything is going up in price (Gas is up to $5.09 +), so take that as you will. Overall, it's a cute little spot nestled in a neighborhood. There is street parking, but it's in an area that isn't too hard to find parking, as it is further away from the very busy spots of West Seattle. I'm honestly not sure if I was given someone's half-eaten order that they had asked to have packed up, or if the kitchen decided to make a scramble with one egg. The portion was extremely small, especially considering the price I paid. I could literally count the home fries, and the scramble looked like it contained one egg. I also left a cash tip, so I was especially disappointed with the portion I received. The burrito was good and generously filled, but unfortunately, the scramble was a major letdown. Menu had a great variety and also had featured specials on the whiteboard by the entrance. The waitstaff really work quite well as a team. Our waitperson was very personable and smiled despite the tail end of Saturday's shift. It was our first meal of the day, mid afternoon after attending a memorial, so we were definitely hungry. The Homie ordered chicken fried steak with country gravy. This came with poached eggs, hash browns, and toast. I was surprised he did not opt for sausage gravy and a biscuit. I ordered the corned beef hash with poached eggs, hash browns, and toast. This was the type of corned beef where it is cooked on the flattop with crispy edges, like a smash burger. Poached eggs were perfect and I appreciated the opportunity to salt and pepper the hash browns to taste. We polished it off our respective entrees and were kindly well hydrated with large iced waters throughout our meal. Happy to note that breakfast is served all day, which is a major plus for me. Straightforward, no frills diner food. Been living on this side of sound since 1983 and this was my first visit. Mind you, after tip, a meal for a single person would be about $30-$33 (without a coffee!). An hour and a half (or two) of your labor as part of the working class. It felt like everyone here, including the patrons, were just going through the motions. No one seemed genuinely excited eating the food, they just ate, with blank stares. They are trying everything in their power to avoid hearing, "Honey, OMG this is SO good, try some!" at their customers tables. I think back to when my Dad was cheating on my Mom and he bought the nice car, something wasn't right underneath all the excitement. I was excited that he got a "cool" car, but in a few months, our family was torn apart. For a place so proudly organic and local, the vibe is day-old Sysco and DMV appointment. Honestly, if they put a Waffle House here and you closed your eyes, you couldn't tell the difference. You'd like it more I imagine. The hosts and servers seemed tired and overworked, and the kitchen staff failed to execute for reasons I'll list below. Have you ever taken a fried potato home in a to-go box? What happens when it sits in the fridge? The texture becomes chewy. Fried food loses its crispy texture in the fridge because moisture from the food's interior and the surrounding air moves into the outer crust. Starch molecules in the breading absorb this water, causing the hard, crunchy crust to soften and turn soggy over time. So we aren't frying potatoes to order anymore, even for nearly $40? Noted. The pancakes. I enjoy golden brown and delicious. It can be a bit darker if you are using buckwheat, or blue corn masa, but why were they so burnt and then sent out? My humble opinion will always be that passivity of the clientele who have no food sensibility are afraid to speak up, so we are ALL at least partially responsible. Next, the sausage. Deflated and lacking any real flavor. Are Rosemary and Thyme supposed to taste like old water? If I knew nothing about organic food, I would hate it after this meal, because I would associate it with less taste, quality, and value. I can see how they fleece customers. You sell the fruit bar, people load up on fruit, feel obligated to pay for their gluttony, and then the cycle of violence against standards and the senses continues unabashed. And I know it's a problem, because when the place first opened, there was no, "1 trip to the fruit bar only please" rule. The fruit bar is bringing down this entire establishment. Get rid of it. It's probably not that safe or hygienic anyway, and then you've got this huge obligation to have mounds of fresh fruit available (expensive), when the restaurant itself is missing the basics. It also has flies swarming it. Yum! Larvae! This restaurant is proof that any "West Seattle food scene" is being carried by only a handful of restaurants. It is genuinely difficult to find any place worth the money in this neighborhood. To quote Will.i.Am of the Black Eyed Peas, popular amongst the tech elite who can afford to forget meals every day, "Where is the love?" With such an incredibly high disposable income in the area, it's hilarious the lack of basic food sensibility most customers in this area have. But this is the reality of what Seattle represents in a way. High stress, high income, with what little free time centered around spending money on goods and services to relieve oneself of stress and high income. Rinse and repeat, $7 donut. I highly encourage West Seattle residents to enroll in basic cooking classes with your disposable income INSTEAD of eating out. Learn about food, how to chop an onion, fry a potato, sauté. With this newfound knowledge, when you taste something that "ain't right", you can speak up with confidence. If you KNOW what good food tastes like and looks like, you can actually HELP. The reality is, the food scene here won't get any better, until the people eating know what is going on and speak up. Then, if management is competent, there can be a course correction. Nobody is perfect. So, avoid this place. It's unacceptable, even by middle of America standards. Lazy, loveless food.

My workplace brought in a smorgasbord of bagels from this location to partake in, and coworkers…read moreactually really love this place too so I was looking forward to try some of the stuff here! I'm actually not a bagel guy, nor do I ever think about them when it comes to grabbing a quick bite somewhere but this was a perfect opportunity to try it again. There was an assortment of bagels, and I got half of an everything bagel and - the one that several of my coworkers highly recommended - the rosemary bagel. Both go well with cream cheese. - The everything bagel was pretty standard; I could taste the garlic and sesame seeds throughout. Garlic was quite powerful on this one though, and I almost thought of garlic bread until I remembered bagels are harder to chew on. - My favorite was the rosemary bagel, just like my coworkers. I could taste the herbs clearly on this one; it was aromatic yet a little bitter. It was balanced with the saltiness already present on the bagel. Since I didn't go to their physical location - which looks like quite a walk from Georgetown - I have yet to see the inside of this place. Having some of their bagels makes me wanna go check it out someday!
