I was really disappointed coming here. I was in yesterday with my boyfriend and he got a tuna melt that said bagel or croissant. He wanted bagel and it came with a croissant. Ok, no worries. We're both in the industry, we get it. Then I'm eating my side crisps and they tasted stale, just not good. Still, I know it happens and I l'm not really one to complain. But then there was a hair in my sandwich. I went up and told a guy and then it was like he was the last air bender...when I needed him most, he vanished. Never saw him or the other half of my sandwich again. The chicken panini wasn't even that great, but I was hungry. No refund, nothing else offered, no remake. We sat at the table for another 10 minutes expecting someone to approach and nothing... Guess if you find hair in your food that's that and you're just supposed to stay hungry. read more

This is a quaint little Breakfast Brunch nook. The name of the place attracted me to check out this place as I always search for Cortado coffee. The list of coffee variation is not vast. More sweetened or fruit infused flavors. They di have the classic cappuccino, Latte, cold brew, regular brew and the like. The has good pastries and a long list of breakfast food. I only ordered A Dopio espresso with steam milk (my desperate attempt to emulate a Cortado) and Blueberry scone. The let down is that the place seem to have awesome breakfast food which I believe is the star and the coffee option is only a "supporting" role. Come here for breakfast and/or pastries. The food is 3.5 stars, but the service was 2 stars (or less!) so I went with 3 stars total. I feel bad writing this because I see that many of the reviews mention how wonderful the owner is and I don't want to hurt his business. As a little back story, my fiance and I have driven by this place dozens of times and always wondered if it was good. We stopped in on Friday, March 16 for a couple of iced coffee's and they were AMAZING! We were really excited to have found a new coffee spot and when we saw the food menu, we knew we had to come back. So we decided to come for lunch today (Monday, March 18). We arrived a little before 1:00 pm. There were a few people inside, but it wasn't overly crowded. All of the people there already had food and drinks in front of them. We arrived right after a small family (man, woman, young child). They placed their order and we went up next to give the woman our order. We were not greeted or even acknowledged for quite a while and when we were, it was with with an indifferent "Know what you want?" from the person at the register. No smile, no greeting, nothing. We should have walked out right then. We proceeded to order our drinks and our lunch, which somehow came out to $30 when we were all said and done. I ordered an iced tea and my fiance had an iced coffee. He asked for it sweetened, which wasn't done. My tea had about 2 inches of empty space that could have been filled and there was very little ice. I read two magazines while waiting for our food. It took over 30 minutes to get two sandwiches and a bagel. Like I said earlier, there was no one else getting food at the time we ordered except for the family in front of us and their food came out about 2 minutes before ours. I have no idea why it would take that long to get our food. On top of that, no one came over to let us know that it would be a few more minutes. I get that it isn't table service, but when it takes that long for food to arrive, the customer is likely starting to wonder what the deal is. My fiance had a tomato soup and it was ice cold. It had likely been sitting out on the counter for that entire time. My chicken salad sandwich was fine, but kind of dry. The fruit side dish was sad with a piece of rotting pineapple taking up the entire dish. The best thing about the meal was B&B's Bagels (which is where we usually go and should have gone this time). Look, I hardly every write less than positive reviews, but I get really ticked off when I get crappy service. Their job is to serve customers and there are too many other places with nice employees that I could choose to go to over this. I would probably return for beverages, but not food. read more

I've been a loyal fan of Espresso's since they've opened in south Forsyth/north Alpharetta/Milton area. Owner, Jeff, is not only very conscientious of the cleanliness and incredibly delicious food he serves with the best coffee around -- he also provides excellent service with a smile. I love this place and recommend it to everyone who's looking for a place to meet. Whether for business or pleasure, the environment here is warm and inviting. What a great little coffee shop! As usual, I'm only leaving a 4-star rating because I can't add the 5th star until I've visited multiple times and can judge consistency. But this was a 5-star visit for sure. :) The staff here are SUPER friendly and helpful! It feels like they enjoy interacting with their customers and are genuinely happy to be here. It makes all the difference in the world! There's ample seating, lots of natural light (even on an overcast day), and they play VINYL! It's fantastic. Even if the vinyl does skip on occasion.... lol. (Not a huge problem; just get up and adjust it!) The food and drinks were also great, from what I tried. I started with an almond milk chai latte, which was delicious and ridiculously foamy. Perfection! I love that they offer it to you in a real mug if you're sticking around; I'm ALL for avoiding disposables whenever possible. Ditto the food; it came out on REAL plates with REAL silverware. Yes!! I ordered the Veggie Omelet (without Swiss cheese), which was pretty good. It was a bit dense - I like my omelets a little fluffier - but it was still quite satisfying, and I loved the healthier option. I don't know whether or not the ingredients were organic. Likely not, as they weren't advertised as such - I wish they were! After sitting and working for a while, I went back and got a lemon-poppy seed muffin (yum!!) and an organic chamomile tea to go. Overall, definitely a spot I would gladly come back and visit again. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a quiet place (at least in the afternoon, maybe not the morning) to set up a laptop and work for a few hours with great food and great drink to accompany. read more

I love independent coffee shops, I like Starbucks too. I don't like independent coffee shops that try to look like Starbucks. I avoided coming in for a long time because of this, as I am sure others do. Espresso's is actually a great coffee shop, it sucks that it comes across as a knock off. The signage uses the same color and style, complete with feminine archetype. The Starbucks mermaid is replaced here, but I am not sure with what. She seems to have a Mardi Gras look, but there is no other New Orleans reference to be found. They even copied the thing I HATE the most about Starbucks, naming their coffee sizes "tall". "grande" and "venti". WTF? Why would you copy that? I would probably give them more business if I knew I could order a large coffee without having to think about it before having my first cup! What makes Espresso's unique is what is like about it, not what it copies. The kitchen is great, food and baked goods are excellent. Service is always great, people take pride in the place. The chairs are comfy and the feeling is super casual. Espresso's has a "record" (see Wikipedia) player available complete with actual records to play. On today's visit, Bruce Springsteen was playing. I had forgotten about "The Boss" and how much I enjoyed him. I stayed to hear the whole album, where else can you do that? I don't drive by here enough in the morning, but if I did I am sure I could easily become a fan. The only negative about it is that they seem to only brew in the mornings, so twice, including today, they were out of bold. That has never happened to me at the other coffee shop that has a similar green sign with a lady in the logo and that also sells their coffee in venti size. read more

I got a message here the other day, from the owner, suggesting that if I like mom and pop coffee shops where you can hang out for a while, then he would love for me to check out his place. And when I was out and about yesterday, I decided I would do just such a thing. When I arrived, its pretty nondescript. But it has a nice feel to it. A few nice plushy chairs scattered about, and a fireplace, which I wish was on yesterday afternoon. The one thing I liked is the use of power strips so people had good options to plug laptops into. No fighting over power here. The food menu looked awesome, but I didnt grab food but the peanut butter frappe thingy was freaking amazing. It tasted so good, and man I want another one right now. Pricing is pretty average for a coffee shop, with prices ranging from about $3-6 for drinks. Since coffee is in the name, this review is mostly of their coffee, which unfortunately is just average. It doesn't have deep rich flavors typically found in fresh ground good quality coffee. And just so you know -- I actually ordered it in a mug and enjoyed it slowly and on premises (as coffee should be enjoyed) Overall, probably a good hangout if you're local -- but nothing to travel across the city for. read more

This place has so much potential. Cute atmosphere (I love the record player that they have out for people to use!), great coffee, decent location. However, this place always seems to fall short especially when it comes to service. Every time I attempt to go here, the cashiers seem bothered that I even walked in the door. Additionally, the hours of operation are hard to work around. They close so early. One time, I went an hour before they were supposed to close and the door was already locked and the employees were inside cleaning. I understand wanting to leave on time, but turning away business to do so is not the way to do it. Aside from the bad service, the coffee is actually pretty good. They have a more extensive menu than Starbucks and the coffee is pretty good quality. Again, the staff comes in the way, though. I've asked for simple modifications (adding Carmel syrup, etc) and I've been met with resistance. If I'm nearby and my choices are between this place and Starbucks, I'll still pick this place, but only because I hate Starbucks coffee. read more

For a long while I've been hesitant to try Espresso's for a couple of reasons. First of all, their branding makes the place look like a cheap Starbucks knock-off. Secondly, their website is ridiculously vague and unhelpful in providing any information about... coffee. Seriously, here is how they describe their coffee online: "the finest coffees from around the globe". Gee, that's great. How about some information about where the beans are sourced? A roaster name, maybe? At least a description of the kinds of roasts you offer? Bueller? A couple of weeks ago I finally bit the bullet and stopped in for a cup of coffee while I was in the area. The guy working the register was very helpful and friendly, and he talked with me about the coffee. They had three different roasts available, which is impressive! He told me the name of the roaster in North Carolina where they source the beans, but I've since forgotten it (oops). I purchased a large black coffee to go, and opted for the medium roast from Guatemala. The coffee tasted much fresher than I thought it would be. It was a fairly solid and balanced cup. The emphasis at this place seems to be on the pastries and syrupy drinks, but ultimately they sling out a decent cup of regular joe. I'd stop in here again before hitting up Starbucks. read more

Once I arrived, I still thought to myself as being nuts for coming to a coffee shop all the way out in the boonies but this place is awesome. This is a favorite for the girls in my office, but I was sadly disappointed with my chicken panini press. First the panini said it had sun dried tomatoes (my favorite) it had raw tomatoes that looked like they had just been thrown to the back of the sandwich. Second the chicken was they kid you can get in the deli or frozen food section. It was gummy, slimy, and had the fake grill marks on it. I chose a side of cucumber salad that was okay, just some Greek dressing on it. It was awfully small to. For 8 dollars I won't be going here again. Also I read a review on google before making this review, and they changed the tomatoes to fresh on this sandwich, over a year ago... yet the menu hasn't changed. I am all for small and local restaurants, but sadly this will not be on my list. read more

This place in fantastic! The ambience is great! The food is YUMM!! And they serve amazing breakfast until 2pm on Sundays!! It's one of our favorite places to be!! first time here but was underwhelmed. the Healthy Hermit lacked flavor, the Cappuccino was served in a used cup (see photo). the staff sprayed cleaner mist far away from the table (instead of right on the towel to keep the cleaner from landing on your food). otherwise, they have a large selection of coffee and tea drinks, and memorabilia. Came through here while visiting family and we all loved loved it! Great breakfast and lunch place. We came in the morning. I had the veggie omelette and it was delicious! So much better than your average omelette, there were sundried tomatoes and fresh veggies cooked to perfection i had kome with fresh fruit and the fruit was ripe and sweet. Why can't other places so it as well? My hubby had the Denver omelette and said it was great. The bagels....I have to mention. Being from NYC area, I am spoiled by good bagels and did not expect to find a good bagel in Georgia! I was wrong, it was great! Slightly crunchy on the outside and light and chewy in the inside. so much better than the heavy doughy bagels you buy at the food store or bakery! Our 17 year old had a breakfast wrap and loved it. He also had one of their healthy smoothies, which was so appreciated by him since he is not a coffee drinker. The coffee here is so much better than DD (too watered down) and Starbucks (tastes burnt). It's smooth and really flavorful coffee.
