Great spot if you're in the area. You will probably have to pay for parking. The cold brew and breakfast arepa were tasty. There are plenty of tables to eat at the cafe.

Such a cute coffee shop with the best empanadas. They have other menu items but I opted for the beef and potato empanada and it was so good. I loved the green salsa they have. They make everything in house, even their muffins and pastries. The coffee drinks smelled good. I will definitely be back. The servers/waiters were also very kind. You order at the counter then grab a table.

The place could be so much more. There are five different types of chairs and very little decoration, even though it's a Colombian coffee shop. Colombia is known for vibrant color, energy, and music, but that spirit is missing here. The muffins we ordered were cold (the cashier kindly offered to warm them, but we declined). The coffee was $5, which feels steep, especially given the atmosphere. There was also no clear pick-up area for drinks. When we asked if our coffees were ready, the response was, "Oh, it's probably those two over there," pointing to cups left on a shelf. Meanwhile, customers can see staff working and setting up the café, which makes the place feel unfinished. On top of that, there's no free parking. For a shop likely paying high rent at this location, it would make sense to negotiate at least 30 minutes of free parking for customers. We were told we had 20 free minutes and that was not true. We were charged $3 for parking. Overall, I think the high ratings might be due to the captive audience in the hospital area. Personally, I would not go out of my way to visit again.

Located across the street from Baylor Med Center, this is a great breakfast or lunch option during the week. My first visit, I tried the bean and cheese arepa and a beef/Potato empanada. That was a lot of food. My second visit, I went with the beef/potato empanada and a chicken and cheese empanada. This was a more reasonable amount of food for lunch. Both times the beef and potato empanada was stellar, so well seasoned. The other items I tried were also delicious but they just couldn't beat that empanada. The menu has plenty of options for any type of eater. My mom doesn't eat meat or cheese but really enjoyed the vegetarian empanada.

Great food and very nice people! Had the Adobo Chicken Burrito which was great and the Chicken Quesadillas are great too! Very fast Service and an easy walk from the hospital or hotel!

This was my second visit. NOTE- I ordered thru the Ritual app. Push notifications were turned on. No alert when order was ready. Order was missing one empanada order. Employee apologized. The Ritual app is offering a $2 credit but it didn't apply. Aside from those points, the food and drink order were tasty. They have rojo salsa and cilantro salsa, if interested. Venue is kept clean. Masks are not enforced. Many patrons wore them, I imagine, due to proximity to Baylor. They made a fresh veggie empanada to order. To be fair, one order is pretty size-able. They play pop music overhead. It didn't get in the way of working via laptop. Wifi is available, as well. Plenty of space to work. Booths have wall outlets. Location by Baylor Hospital and ATM School of Dentistry. Street meter parking available via ParkMobile app. Also, garage for Baylor discounted with validation. A great place to beast mode and/or kill time in between appointments.

Had this place on my list for a while and it didn't disappoint! What a great quick spot for a Hispanic munch and fantastic coffee drinks. We tried an assortment of their food (sandwich, empanadas, and arepas) and have to say the sandwiches and empanadas battled for the top spot. Their Dulce de Leche coffee was unique and flavorful as well with a great balance of coffee notes and sweetness. The ambiance was unexpected for it being in a medical district - definitely an easy stop and go spot I can see many people enjoying. If I worked in the area I would have a hard time not coming here every time for lunch. The only reason it loses one star for me is because you do have to search around for parking or use the paid parking garage.

New here, how's the parking situation?

If you are willing to walk a few blocks , you can find free parking on or around Swiss Ave and Oak St area. If you park in the nearby Baylor lots or at a meter, that will be expensive.

Located in unassuming part of Wylie/St.Paul the restaurant is smack down in the middle of the strip along other places I wanted to try. I ordered their Carne Frita con Arroz. Flavorful chunks of pork which came with fried banana, rice, and beans.. Even though I've never had an actual Puerto Rican food, I expected a whole lot of flavor just by reading about cuisine. I really enjoyed the carne frita and thought it is almost similar to lechon kawali (Filipino dish) but this much leaner part of the pig. Service was very friendly, they'll answer any question you might have especially if you are unfamiliar with the names of some of the dishes. This is a family ran business, you'll feel that upon walking in. Very homey and welcoming. You'll be transported to PR while dining here.

It was quite small, just a row of tables straight back from the front. I was looking forward to some good paella, so I ordered the Valencia small size ($20). It was served in a small sizzling skillet, which was harder to manage than a bowl. First of all, the skillet was steaming hot, and was more difficult to eat. It was literally dangerous touching the skillet's rim, which could burn your hand. My first disappointment was that they didn't seem to use yellow Spanish rice, which I consider integral to the dish. I used to make this, and it was a somewhat long process, letting all the ingredients simmer in the pan to ensure the flavor permeated all ingredients. This was served with mussels, shrimp, scallops, and calamari. I opted to have it without the calamari. It was also served without a knife. As some of the mussels were closed, it made them difficult to open without a knife. When I asked for a knife, I was able to wrestle the mussels open, but found that they, along with the shrimp and scallops, had no flavor or taste. Evidently, since it was fast-cooked in the skillet, none of the seasonings flavored the seafood. There was a lime stuck in the middle of the sizzling skillet, which was too hot to squeeze. Also, serving it this way left you to scrape the rice off of the skillet sides. The dish was acceptable, but definitely a far cry from the Spanish or Cuban Paella I love. For that, I will always go to Bulla in Legacy, which is also less expensive. My husband thought he was ordering a Cuban sandwich, and even pointed to it in the menu when ordering. It was the ropa vieja Cuban sandwich. Instead, what he received cost a few dollars more, and was a bowl of hot ropa vieja, along with rice and beans. He said it was good. The dessert of cinnamon sticks in whipped cream atop ice cream was also good, although not outstanding. The single women's restroom was acceptable; although it was unique in being the only eatery anywhere in this area without a purse hook, which made it slightly inconvenient. Although a nice mom and pop small local storefront, we are unlikely to return.
