Due to unforeseen circumstances, my roommates and hired Esquire very last minute (the day before our move), which also happened to take place during COVID quarantine. They sent two guys who were prompt, very skillful and careful, and expertly navigated the very narrow entryways and hallways of our 1940s house. They even hoisted our big couch up and over our 2nd floor balcony to get it into the house. They did everything in a timely fashion, were professional, and answered all of our questions. We had an awesome experience with Esquire! They moved us out of our previous apartment and into a storage unit, and then out of the storage unit and into our new place. We had a team of three guys on both occasions and it took around four hours for our two bedroom apartment (including dining room and living room) to be moved in/out. The guys were friendly, fast, and treated all of our belongings with care. Their prices were super reasonable and it ended up costing less than expected because they really hustled -- no dilly dallying and chit chat. I can't remember the name of the team leader when we moved out but when we moved in the head mover was Dennis and he was great. Will definitely be using them for all of our future moving needs! With a big move from Boston to New York I wanted a moving company that I could trust and I am thankful I went with Esquire. I quoted more than 10 companies for our moving from Boston to NYC. Their price is one the cheapest but their service is not. Originally the moving was scheduled for Friday but we had a hard time for packing so we called Yury on Thursday night and asked for a last minute change of plan. He then was able to help us reschedule to Saturday. On the moving days, two movers came on time both in Boston and NYC. The greatest movers I have ever used! I had 2 large pieces of furniture to move from Manhattan to Boston. All my calls to other companies and I was given exorbitant quotes. I need to stop for just a moment and give some serious props to Esquire. I was looking for a reasonable way to ship my goods to Fort Lauderdale as I was relocating there. It was just by chance that I found them and they were substantially less expensive that one of the majors. It took just a little flexibility with my schedule to come to an agreement and confirm the deal. From the outset they were always reachable, responsive and more importantly proactive. My move should not have been that problematic but with cranky neighbors, and a beast of a couch it started to wear on us just a bit. Alex was the lead man on the job - he was fast even at hour five and six when normal human beings slow down. He tackled each problem from a position of mutual understanding, never elevating much when my neighbor picked up the brick holding open the door, threw it into the bush's yelling " I can't have this " in very dramatic fashion. When it came to discussing the bill and some overage in the original estimate he took a very calm approach, didn't demand- just wanted to review his situation with his team. I did not hesitate to add a very small figure to the estimate because they guys had worked there butts off and deserved to be compensated for it. The was a small delay on the delivery due to a situation beyond anyone's control. The moment Alex knew that it might impact my delivery he called and alerted me and said he would keep me in the loop as things progressed and that's exactly what he did. We eventually agreed to a new time that took Into consideration my time, his time, trucks and the wacky house rules that are always in place in multiple dwelling buildings. At each step of the way there was a call or a text to reconfirm. When it came time to do the delivery I was greeted by Egor and one of the Boston guys. Clearly this company has a leader who knows what they are doing in the staffing and the procedures they have in place to try and make what is always a very emotional, big anxiety operation as seamless as possible. I could write a glowing review and say they were just perfect and everything went according to plan. But that wasn't the case and in the end isn't the company that can handle problems or unexpected issues who you really need not the one who looks blankly back at you and you know they don't have a clue? I mentioned the troublesome sofa earlier , we'll it was the gift that kept on giving. Tried the elevator - nope. Let me tell you Egor and his partner did not even flinch knowing the next option was to carry it up FOURTEEN floors. At floor two they couldn't make the turn. My phone rang and Egor asked I come down and survey the situation with him. We tried an alternative staircase but it was clear this thing was not going in but would have to take a short vacation at the upholsterer and have a take- apart done. I found a friend with an available spot in his garage where it could be held for eventual pickup. At the close of the move I drove them over, they unloaded it and we settled the final bill. With a small additional for this extra trip. Now I have a short message to anyone reading this with an upcoming move. Take good care of those who you put in charge of all your worldly belongings. If they go above and beyond tip them and not like your grandmother tipped in 1962. This is back breaking work and yes they chose their career but when it's almost 90 degrees like it was today and NO ONE is asking for a break - get them some water and Gatorade and anything else they need and they will keep up the pace and have your job done before you know it. It is without absolutely any hesitation that I give Esquire Moving a 10, two thumbs up and my stamp of approval should you need a mover. My experience with Esquire was great! Everyone I spoke to was very kind and accommodating during the scheduling process; I received follow-up notes/appointment confirmations via email to reiterate what was discussed on the phone, which I appreciated. At the end of the day, the rate was a little higher than what was originally quoted--hence why I am rating Esquire 4 stars instead of 5--but the movers I worked with (Mario and Oscar) were excellent. Mario and Oscar were extremely kind, patient and respectful of my space & belongings (they wrapped all of my fragile items and nothing was broken). I couldn't recommend Esquire more, especially for a long-distance trip! I moved from the Boston area to Washington DC. I spent a long time doing research on moving companies, including sending them a series of questions through Yelp. I then had 4 different companies come to our house to give an in person estimate (I highly recommend this). I also asked very detailed questions in person. I decided to go with them because they were the most professional and provided the most guarantees and best insurance. They also were among the cheaper estimates I received. From the very beginning, Esquire were extremely professional and went above and beyond. Yuri answered all my questions very promptly and came to my house to do the estimate. The move took two days -- they packed up the first day and drove to DC overnight and arrived the next morning to drop off. Each day, the movers were on time and extremely professional, friendly, and also very FAST. I had a few special requests that they accommodated easily and they put everything exactly where I wanted in my new home. They gave me a fixed price estimate and there were no surprise fees or up-charges at all. All my belongings were in perfect condition - no scratches and nothing was broken or missing. I found Esquire right here on Yelp and was very happy that I did. This group was wonderful and Yury, the owner, has excellent communication skills. We had a large move from Massachusetts to Michigan. I was concerned about all our items fitting, but the guys did a masterful job in fitting everything in such that there was room for more! Everything was wrapped well and protected from damage. The walls in the houses were even protected with special quilted wrap-arounds. These guys unloaded in the rain and had to carry things up a ramp since our contractor had failed to build steps (unbeknownst to us). They were punctual, pleasant, efficient and professional. Esquire did an amazing job with my move from Boston to DC. I was really worried beforehand, but Esquire went above and beyond my expectations. After calling 20-30 different moving companies, Esquire was the only moving company willing to deliver my items the next day and give me a reasonable quote (which was accurate). Esquire also sends you notification emails about your upcoming move which is assuring. On my move day, we ran into some complications at my pickup address due to a city power outage. Just my luck. Because of the situation, I was extremely stressed and frustrated. The Esquire movers were patient and waited until the elevators in my apartment were up and running again. No matter how many obstacles we faced at my apartment, Esquire helped to make my move happen. I recently moved on September 1 from a 1br in Boston to a different 1br in Boston only a few blocks away. Anyone in Boston knows that September 1 is the worst day possible for moving. I was so pleasantly surprised with Esquire Moving. They truly made this day as stress free as possible. The booking process was excellent, and they provided me a pricing estimate that was literally half the price of all other quotes I got for a Sept 1 move. Dan was in constant email communication prior to the move, and I received a call a few days prior and 1 day prior to the move just for confirmation purposes. They also called me the morning of the move to give me an update on arrival time, which I really appreciated. The two movers we had were very professional and moved everything very efficiently and in a timely manner. They even took apart my couch for me and reassembled it in the new place. After the move was over, I realized that they did not deduct my initial deposit from the total paid. Esquire sent my refund in the mail within 2 days, no questions asked. They wrap everything in blankets, even your pillows! This is a good thing but it takes more time and costs more money. They did a great job though. I wouldn't recommend them for piano moving. It will end up costing the same as piano movers, so just get separate piano movers. read more

We just completed a long distance move from the Boston area to South Carolina. Very happy with the service that Igor & Kirill provided throughout our move. They were kind and careful while packing the truck like an advanced level tetris game. They worked hard and did an amazing job wrapping larger items. When they unloaded in the 95 degree weather they continued quickly and efficiently. I was also pleased with the communication during the planning process. Dan was our point of contact and promptly returned phone calls. A contract was not signed until the day of the move but we had various verbal & email confirmations along the way. He had also provided proof of insurance upon request. One thing to note - you need to be extremely detailed in the list of the items you are packing. They did not offer an in-home estimate and I underestimated the number of boxes that would be produced from the contents in my home. We were not able to fit everything into the truck, although they were able to fit much more than I imagined was possible! (I will miss my chest & planters that could not make it!) So... If you think you'll have 40 boxes... Do yourself a favor and round up to 80! The prices are great either way and I learned the hard way that it's much better to have a truck big enough! Experience with office was great with good overall communication. Movers were professional and arrived on time and took great care of my belongings. The movers also placed everything where it belonged and setup anything they took apart for the move (e.g. bedframe) I would have given a 5 star review except the move cost in the end was around 40% above the quoted cost. I was quoted $907-$1072 to move a two bedroom one bath apartment two miles away. In the end I paid $1395 plus a large tip and the movers said they could not move all of my stuff due to no space left in the truck, which meant I had to make several trips with my car. This was not something I expected moving out of a 938 sq ft apartment. If I was not moving just a couple of miles away that would have been an issue. read more

Moving is the worst but Esquire Moving is THE BEST. Period. Without a doubt, the best moving experience I've ever had. I had requested a price quote online late one night and received a call promptly the next morning to walk through pricing. The pricing was super competitive (actually less than I thought it would be) so I booked it immediately. I also received a call the day before my move to confirm, as well as a call one half hour before they arrived (which was right on time). I had a two man crew to move my one bedroom apartment in Waltham (third floor, crazy narrow stairways, nightmare) and they were moving machines. Yury and Alex took all of my stuff out the kitchen window and down the fire escape (see: nightmare) and it was like they had done it a million times. They were extremely conscientious and careful with wrapping furniture and I really appreciated the fact that all materials (tape, etc.) were included in the price. I also have no idea how they got my couch out, they might be wizards. When they got to my temporary home in Wakefield, they unloaded the expertly packed truck (it was like Tetris in there!) very quickly and the move actually took less time than anticipated, lowering the already low cost. Yury and Alex were incredibly nice and professional, and I only wish they did cross-country moves so I could hire them for my next step too. Esquire moved my family of 3 from our Lowell, MA three bedroom, third floor apartment to our two floor house in Providence, RI. They kept our belongings in their storage facility for 5 nights, and sent 3 guys to load and unload. We were met with the most competitive and affordable prices in the Boston area. My husband and I found out we needed to move out of our apartment into our new home with two days notice. We've never hired movers before but with this time crunch we figured we might as well relieve some of our stress. However as new homeowners we didn't want to spend $1700 for a one way move with 3 guys (this was an actual quote we received - yikes.) We called at least 7 moving companies to get some last minute quotes. Some companies required us to fill out lengthy applications before they could even give us a quote. With all of our packing we had to do while chasing around our 1 year old that's the last thing I had time for. I was so pleased to hear from Yury within 30 minutes of putting in my request on Yelp. He was straight forward, walked me through the pricing and expectations. We hired them on the spot. He called to confirm the day before, called when they were 30 minutes away from our apartment on the day of, and they even arrived 5 minutes early. They were so fast, diligent, efficient, professional, polite, careful, nice, and so pleasant to work with. All of our furniture was professionally wrapped, and handled with care. They ran up and down 3 flights of stairs with no complaints while in high spirits (even when it started snowing!), and they didn't slow down once. We trusted them with all of our possessions so much that we even decided to keep our tvs with them for the 5 days in storage. I have never had a pleasant moving experience in my life until last week. Pure absolute trash. Do not use this company. They use highly deceptive techniques to squeeze more money out of you and their management are pretty dumb. Hired them for a job, they quoted me a price and didn't pack anything that was on the inventory. Job started at 12:30, at 2:30, they advised me they were finished because they needed the rest of the 3 hours to travel back to the warehouse and unload, and that was supposed to be on my tab. So they wanted to charge me for a 5 hr block but the workers were there for 2.5 hours. What a joke. Furthermore, they charge 65 dollars an hour per worker and only pay these poor guys 14 dollars an hr. Oh, and they didn't pack everything on the inventory. They purposely left the main big items behind so Alex can charge me more money because supposedly his workers needed more money, AN extra 65 dollars each, to FINISH THE JOB THAT SAME JOB that I was quoted for. But here's where the stupidity comes in, they were supposed to eventually move all of that stuff to Georgia for me for another 6,000.00, but guess what, they were so pressed to charge me extra to move what they were supposed to move in the 1st place, I CANCELED EVERYTHING and decided to go with another company. I would like to know what kind of business model they are following where they let 7,120.00 walk out the door over an extra hour of work? Company is a joke from top to bottom! Beware read more

I have moved many times, local and national, and was VERY disappointed by these movers. Take your business elsewhere 1. They overcharged me big-time and didn't do a fast or efficient job. BEWARE of an hourly rate - they took their sweet time and had one guy just folding blankets in the hallway, not really working, to maximize the work-time. It ended up taking many hours more than they first estimated. One guy worked so slowly I had to start picking up furniture and moving it into the apartment myself! 2. They didn't clean up after themselves! They left packing tape in large balls thrown around the apartment and didn't even bother to pick it up. 3. They damaged my furniture and didn't want to admit it. Then they told me the furniture "was not meant to be moved." BS. Not the response you want to hear from a mover. read more

Just had a great experience with Esquire moving. Alex and his team arrived exactly on time and were able to park the truck in the small city ally behind our apartment. They were quick and efficient having our entire 2 bedroom apartment emptied in and hour and a half. That included taking the time to wrap all of our furniture in blankets and shrink wrap to avoid any damage. Alex communicated the whole time to ensure they didn't miss anything we wanted and we did a walk through of the apartment together when they finished to ensure they hadn't missed anything. Unloading was just as quick and easy. The guys helped us to arrange our living room and bedroom. Their pricing was right in line if not below the quotes I received from other moving companies.
