If you're looking for a Greek restaurant with huge portions, this is the place to visit. The food tastes really good, and the service is excellent. The ambiance of the restaurant is quite normal; it doesn't have a particularly aesthetic feel.

This restaurant is great for when you are craving Greek food. The food is 10/10!! We got the chicken souvlaki dinner and it came with rice potatoes and salad. Enough to feed two people. Prices were great too but only negative was the fact that it is cash only so had to find a bank to take out cash. I took off a star cause of that. Other than that the restaurant is big, clean, and open till late too!

Went to Esquire yesterday for lunch after some recommendations from co workers and friends. Service was friendly and the location was well kept and clean. Ordered a homeburger and onion rings. Onion rings a bit soggy, due to the take out container. Homeburger was ok, nothing too special. Not sure this restaurant would be on the top of my list of go tos, with Johnnys Hamburger and others around the neighbourhood.

Honestly Esquire's food is amazing. I got the chicken souvlaki plate, and the flavours of the chicken are spot on, however the bread was little bit hard. The restaurant itself is pretty neat overall. The only drawback is that they're cash only. Otherwise, I definitely recommend checking it out!

Have a Chicken dinner plate, the portions are first of all so HUGE! Worth every dollar! And the best part, it tastes so damn amazing!!!

Updated this for COVID-19 situation. Came here with a takeout order of gyro on pita and hamburger. Definitely stick to the Greek items not the hamburger/hotdogs. Everything was ready on time. Gyro on pita is delicious - thick multiple cuts of gyro on a pita bread with tomatoes and onions and sauce. Delicious. Come back for this every time. Hamburger was okay. Probably just a normal frozen patty on a burger bun with lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup and mustard. Decent sized burger diameter wise but the patty is decently thin. Probably wouldn't get it again. The price is hard to beat though - for both items, just came to 10$.

Esquire has been around for a long time, serving up decent Greek food until the wee hours of the morning, making it a great late night spot. It's a simple place with ordering and pickup at the counter and ample seating. Cash only. It was late and we were hungry. There were a few diners there when we arrived and a few waiting for their orders but we ordered right away and found a table. We ordered a Pork Souvlaki dinner, Gyros on a pita, and two small Greek salads. THE GOOD. The food was tasty and the portions were on the generous side. The prices are very good for what you get. THE BAD. REALLY BAD. The service here is terribly SLOW! I usually give a business the benefit of the doubt when I read reviews but I see I'm just one of many that have the same complaint. It took around 45 minutes to prepare our order! It was very obvious that we weren't the only ones waiting and getting irritated. It was also very obvious that orders weren't being prepared in the sequence they were received in. A party of four arrived after us, ate, and left before we did. Another gentleman was waiting for his takeout order before we got there and we got our order before he did. He was understandably not happy. Another fellow arrived while we were waiting and got his order fairly quickly. With an open kitchen, we observed no reason for the delay in preparing orders. The staff just had no sense of urgency and didn't seem to care that customers were complaining. CONCLUSION. Esquire represents a good value for Greek food if you don't mind crappy service. I do.

Esquire is my go-to place for a souvlaki or Greek food craving. Everything is made fresh to order, prices are super reasonable and the food always tastes great! My friend told me about this place and I've been going ever since. Just a heads up, their tzatziki sauce is pretty heavy on the garlic. Also there's a great Greek pastry place next door definitely worth it to finish a great Greek meal.

Cook not wearing mask while cooking.
    Martinn L.

Cook does not wear mask while preparing food. In fact, he was rapping (singing) while grilling the food on the grill. Manager said nothing to this cook about not wearing a mask or SINGING while preparing the food. Will not go back until pandemic is over. Too risky.

Gyros on a pita ! Sooo good !

Best Greek food in Scarborough. I have tried the chicken souvlaki dinner, the pork souvlaki dinner, the gyros on a pita and I must say everything is always delicious and I've never been disappointed. Freshly prepared with fresh ingredients and decent portions. If your looking for good Greek food , check this place out! Make sure to call ahead to place your order as they are very busy, and they only except cash. Wish I had a better picture of this gyros ;) but it was the best!

I got 3 sandwiches for me and my family (4 people including me). What we ordered: Mona Lisa: 8/10 For both of the sandwiches the bread was very fresh and delicious! They make them fresh for each order and you can taste the quality. The flavours in the Mona Lisa worked really well together, I loved the truffle cream and burrata. Torino: 7/10 This sandwich was also good, but the I felt like it was lacking something, especially compared to the mona lisa. The spicy eggplant just tasted like plain pickled eggplant and wasn't that spicy. I feel like both sandwiches were a bit salty due to the prosciutto, and were missing some sweet or acidic element. I added some balsamic glaze and hot honey at home which was great! The portion sizes are HUGE, the 4 of us were quite full after splitting the 3.

You can really feel the care and personality behind the space, which added so much to the overall visit. We tried a variety of items, but the Pizza Caesar Wrap was easily the standout and our favourite thing we ate. Crispy, cheesy, messy in the best way, and packed with flavour. Even better, $3 from every wrap goes toward supporting Daily Bread Food Bank through their $30,000 fundraising campaign, which made ordering it feel even more worthwhile. We also really enjoyed the Spicy Ham & Cheese, which had the perfect balance of spicy, creamy, salty, and savoury flavours. The Gourmet French Hot Dog was another highlight with its sweet and savoury flavour combination wrapped in a buttery, flaky croissant. The Four Seasons sandwiches were a fun concept inspired by the Blue Jays, and while the Chef's Choice wasn't our personal favourite, some people at our table enjoyed it more than we did. For dessert, all of the cookies were freshly baked in-house and surprisingly good for a grab-and-go style spot. The double chocolate chip was rich and soft, and the white chocolate cranberry and macadamia cookies were both solid classics. The iced matcha latte with oat milk paired especially well with them, and the iced vanilla latte was smooth and easy to drink. The space itself is bright and open with big windows that bring in lots of natural light during the day. Seating is cozy, but the layout still feels spacious and comfortable overall. Overall, a playful comfort food spot that offers catering with genuinely friendly service, creative menu items, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to come back.

All the tables and chairs seemed clean and staff were busy making food. Lots of takeout orders. Decent number of tables and chairs but not a ton. Food: Beef brisket with cheese sub. The meat was flavorful and tender. Mayo and bbq sauces were quite tasty. Toppings like lettuce, cucumber cubes, caramelized onions all tasted fresh. Surprisingly very messy - possibly because of all the melted cheese and sauce. Meatball sub - delicious, tender and flavorful meatballs in a marinara sauce on the sub. Even though the location at the Promenade Mall exceeds this horrible location by 100 times. I came here to this location in York Mills Rd expecting a decent sub and some decent service. That's not expecting much But On this occasion, I entered and the one Indian lady about 20 something years old immediately put me off. She took my order rather curtly and asked my name forcefully. I mean I am the only customer in there. I waited my 4-5 minutes paying no mind. Then She proceeded to just plop my sandwich on the counter and literally screamed my name and then walked to the back. I'm sorry but this order is for take out I said can I have a bag. She saids she doesn't have big bags with handles. This is not my first rodeo here and she plops a small sandwich bag on the counter with absolutely no customer service like bagging it for me and then walks off again. That's when I see a uber order with a said bag with handle sitting there I mean, I like their sandwiches but service and a remotely polite service is important too. I definitely strongly recommend to stay away from this location. And I am debating on going to any location again as this represents not only their name and location but the franchise reputation as a whole.
