Afterwards, she promptly and proactively took care of our particular wrap-up details and truly created a positive experience from start to finish! Truth be told, I'm just a simple Texas boy, so a place like Estância feels a little fancier than what I'm used to. But every now and then, it's worth trading barbecue paper for white tablecloths. If there's a special occasion to celebrate, this Brazilian churrascaria in Leander makes a mighty good case for treating yourself. The experience starts with an impressive salad bar and a separate spread of hot sides, but that's just the opening act. Once you flip your card to green, the parade begins. Gauchos make their way from table to table with skewer after skewer of wood-fire-roasted meats, carving tender slices of ribeye, picanha, filet mignon, sirloin, pork ribs, lamb, chicken, and sausage right onto your plate. And as if that weren't enough, every table is served buttery mashed potatoes, sweet fried plantains and delicious bread or muffins? The best part? You don't have to settle on just one cut; you can sample as much or as little as you'd like. The restaurant itself is spacious, with several dining rooms, a full bar, and a comfortable outdoor patio. Even on Father's Day, when the place was packed, the wait moved along surprisingly well, and the staff never seemed rushed. While the price is certainly more of a splurge than an everyday meal, it's easy to appreciate the value when you consider the endless selection of expertly grilled meats and the unlimited sides that come with them. From what I understand, Estância is locally owned rather than another big corporate steakhouse, and that makes me appreciate it even more. Celebrated the 4th at Estância with a group and left full and happy. Steady rotation of meats, good sides, and drinks that were well made. What stood out most was our server Lezlie -- she was fast, attentive, and easy to talk to without ever missing a beat on service. Ask for her if you can. I came on a Monday night and it wasn't too busy. I was able to be seated immediately and place an order for drinks. Their salad bar is stocked and regularly cleaned and topped off. I enjoyed this steakhouse more than others because of their pasta bar. Their service is amazing and each person is kind and will make you feel comfortable and ensure that all your needs are met. Their meats are great, but they did seem inconsistent with each piece they gave. They started to lack flavor over time, and i'm not sure what the cause was.. Maybe it was an off day.. Great and plentiful food with good service in a hopping environment describes our recent experience at Estancia. We had reservations on a Saturday evening and were seated right away. In the blink of an eye fried polenta (yum!) and cheese bread were on our table and our server greeted us. Unfortunately the only lapse in service then followed-we wanted a moment to look over the drink menu and that moment turned into minutes that kept extending. Luckily a floor manager realized our plight and took our drink orders. Then the food fest began! Plentiful salad bar and the largest hot bar I have seen at a Brazilian steakhouse in the area. But don't fall for the trap-hold strong for the meats! The Picana is my favorite but they were all coming so fast! I had to eventually turn my card over so that I could have a chance to eat! Arriving with reservations in hand, my party of six stepped into what can only be described as a fine dining mecca--Estancia Brazilian Steakhouse. It delivers an upscale experience without a rigid dress code. We were in our Sunday best, but others ranged from business casual to relaxed--refined, yet comfortable. We came for Sunday brunch ($42 vs. $39 lunch buffet). Service was immediate. Drinks were taken right away, and the dining system was clearly explained. I'll focus on my experience to avoid repeating the same praise. I ordered distilled water, served in a decorative carafe and poured tableside. From that moment on, my glass was never empty--staff refilled it seamlessly before I even noticed. The salad bar is extensive--shrimp, cheeses, meats, vegetables, and more. I grabbed five jumbo shrimp, some sides, and scoped out dessert early. Worth it. Back at the table, I planned my strategy. Each table has a red/green card--green means bring the meat, red means stop. Simple and effective. Once I flipped to green, the experience took off. The picanha arrived first--perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor. Then came the fraldinha (bottom sirloin), which became my favorite. In 62 years of eating, I've never had meat this tender--it melted like milk chocolate. The filet mignon was a very close second. At one point, garlic mashed potatoes showed up. Honestly? Sides felt like filler when there was still so much incredible meat coming. Other options included ribeye, bacon-wrapped chicken, and lamb. I mostly stuck with beef, but the New Zealand lamb steak surprised me--in a good way. Even the smoked salmon, which I normally avoid, was excellent--mild, smoky, and smooth. There's far more than I can list, but this isn't just a meal--it's an experience. And it's worth every dollar. Now--the dessert bar. Fruits, flan, tres leches, cakes--and the chocolate brownies. I could not stop eating them. They were lighter than traditional brownies, almost cake-like with a light glaze. Even after paying, I went back for more. I'm convinced I ate half a pan... on top of what felt like three pounds of meat. No regrets. On your way out, grab the "mints" by the door--they're actually chocolate balls with fruit-filled centers, and none are labeled. Take a handful. Trust me. One last thing--ask about discounts. They do offer a military discount (no first responder discount), and possibly others not advertised. Just ask. But don't be classless about it. Final thoughts: Friendly, welcoming atmosphere Upscale experience at a fair price Fast, attentive service Great variety of menu options If you come here, come ready to try something new. I was fortunate to be invited to a business lunch at Estancia's latest location in Leander. We had reservations, but they were not needed as the lunch crowd was pretty slim. I'm not really a buffet or an all-you-can-eat guy, but I do enjoy a Brazilian steak house now and then. The dining areas are quite large, and there are areas for group or private dining. Service throughout our lunch was exemplary. Water glasses were replenished, and any requests were quickly addressed. There is a large salad and pasta bar, but this carnivore was here for meat. Disclaimer: I did have a small salad. I like their salad options. If you are not familiar with Estancia, you can order à la carte or just splurge and sample all of their meat, chicken, sausage, and shrimp. We did the card thing where their Gauchos will carve tableside as long as your card is green. Done, then just turn it over to red. Our favorites were Picanha, Sirloin, Spicy and Garlic Beef, Filet, and Shrimp. IMHO this $39 lunch is a great deal. read more

I came to Estancia to celebrate my anniversary and my assessment was: Drinks 10/10 Service 12/10 Ambiance 7/10 Food 7/10 We only did the à la carte menu. As listed above, the service was amazing. We were very well attended and everyone was super friendly. The drinks were fantastic, my husband was very impressed with the carajillo! For non alcoholic I do reccomend Guaraná Antarctica which is a Brazilian soda. As for the ambience I think the tables are a bit too close for comfort especially for a place where you have people walking around with knives and meat constantly. You could hear the conversation of the table next to you they were so close. Also I the music was interesting. I was hoping for Brazilian music but a majority of the time I heard EDM which felt a bit out of place. The food kinda fell flat. I wouldn't dismiss it yet but I am willing to try different things next time. I would label the food as ok overall. We got the Sliders, the shrimp tostadas, the Branzino, and the s'mores tower for desert. The shrimp tostadas were too salty for my taste and the Branzino was...fine. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't get it again. Sliders were also fine but again nothing special. Honestly my favorite food of the night was the s'mores tower, now THAT was insane. My husband and I have loved going to the Estancia in North Austin for many years. So, we were so excited to now have one in our own city. Unfortunately, the night did not go so well, service wise! The food, as always was great! Turn those cards to "green" and those guys come around. Unlike the other location, they did pay attention more, when we did turn to "red" to take a break. But, when we went back to "green" it was hard to get some to come back. Now the sad thing was the service. Now, they did make a nice card for our Anniversary, and (now looks like pre-printed on plates...used to be drawn in chocolate) on our dessert. But, it took over 15 minutes after we sat to get our FIRST drinks! There are several waiters walking around, so we tried to ask the manager to check on our drinks. It was just 5PM, but still, that was a long wait! And the waiter never came back to ask us for more drinks, again, luckily another person came by to see how we were doing and asked them for one more for each of use, and somehow they brought TWO of my lemon drop martinis. The waiter asked, "Oh, you did not order two of them"? Why would I order "two, at one time?" . Took awhile to get a clean plate, and another drink, and pay the bill, and we had to tell that person (again, not our original waiter, we never got the last drink we ordered. The SERVICE was impeccable, TOP TIER! The ambiance beatiful and romantically decorated! Fine dining at its best. You can order A la Carte dishes or get the brunch/lunch/dinner buffet. The menu has recently changed, still with a good variety. We came about an hour and before they closed (not purposely), we didnt think we would have enough time to enjoy the buffet, so we decided to take it easy and order a la carte. The bread and fried polenta were awesome. We ordered the chicken lollipops...never heard of it so we asked about....we were told that the portions were small and would feed 1 person....so all ordered our own! But unfortunately we had to wait for about an HOUR for our meals. When they did eventually come out...the portions for the chicken lollipops were about 10 huge chicken legs, not a problem, but it was a sharable size. I ordered a salad and never received it. My sister ordered broccolini, apparently they were our of it.(no one told us, when we ordered)..and they gave me a bunch of regular broccoli..unseasoned. I guess they thought we wouldnt know the difference. Wrong. The biggest let dowm was the lack of flavor/seasoning on the food. I had higher expectations. We intentionally chose a 3:15 seating to avoid both the lunch and dinner rush, which worked very well. The location is easy to get to off 183, and the building itself is beautiful. The architecture is impressive, and the fountain out front makes a great first impression. From arrival through the meal, staff were plentiful, attentive, and welcoming. We were seated immediately, service followed right away, and there was no pressure to order alcohol, which I appreciated. The dining room is thoughtfully laid out, with several smaller dining areas off the main room. These spaces would work well for a small private meal or could be combined for a larger private group, which is a nice option for celebrations or business meals. I also appreciated the restroom setup. There are separate men's and women's restrooms, along with a combined restroom option, which is especially helpful for families with younger children. Our table included both full meat eaters and me, someone who does not eat beef, so we experienced the restaurant from both sides. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and when he did not immediately know an answer, he was more than willing to go find out. That kind of follow through matters. For those who eat beef, this place absolutely delivers. Nathan and Izzy were firmly on team beef and spoke very positively about everything they tried. Nathan came specifically for the picanha, which remains his favorite and was just as good as he has experienced at other Estância locations, though served a bit differently at lunch. At the Leander location, lunch and brunch service involves walking to the carving station rather than traditional tableside service, which is worth knowing ahead of time. Everything they tried was met with enthusiasm and no complaints. From the non-beef side, I ordered à la carte and found it to be a great option for lighter eaters. The bacon wrapped chicken is outstanding and remains one of the best chicken dishes I have had anywhere. For $14, the portion felt equivalent to a double chicken breast, and every bite was excellent. I also ordered rice without meat and mashed potatoes, both generous and satisfying. I even tried a bite of the sausage and have to agree it was excellent. Great texture, well seasoned, and not spicy. A pleasant surprise. One small suggestion for management would be to consider allowing one trip to the salad bar with à la carte orders. That option could make the restaurant feel more inviting to diners who are not meat heavy, while still preserving the value of the full experience. Another minor enhancement would be something to help reset your palate at the end of the meal. At other Estância locations, I recall mints or a similar touch, which is especially helpful after a meat heavy meal and would be a nice addition here as well. Another improvement would be clearer signage at the meat stations so diners know what cuts they are selecting, as it can be difficult to identify them by sight alone. Despite it being opening day, everything flowed well. Service was covered, food quality was strong, and everyone left full and very satisfied. I went for a World Cup kickoff event on their patio for the first Brazil game today. Tickets were $50 for 2 hours of unlimited cocktails and appetizers. The appetizer selection was nice with picanha (the clear king of meats), bacon, chicken wings, sausage, empanadas, Brazilian polenta bites and of course the cheese breads. In addition there was an area for some cold cuts, fruits salads and a a few other things. Service was friendly and speedy (they got backed up on drinks about an hour in but caught up reasonably fast). Ample parking. Located off of 183A toll road. It's grand opening day and we booked lunch for 2. Arrived at 12:30, and was immediately seated and greeted by everyone! Staff was a bit overly attentive but it's better than not being acknowledged right?! A complimentary lunch/dinner gift card was on the table for a return visit, not redeemable today. There is lots of outdoor seating available, no heaters that I observed but will be nice in the warmer months. The interior of restaurant is very pretty and spacious somewhat like a large reception hall with some wall separation. The salad bar has quite the cooling system, it kept everything nice and chilled although I found the selections simple and sparse in comparison to other churrasco restaurants such as the arboretum location. I was slightly disappointed but understand the clientele may differ. The meat station had many options to choose from but not plentiful nor replenished often enough. Some meats such as the bacon wrapped chicken or pork was very dry. The pork ribs were on their last leg before also drying out. Sides such as black beans, rice etc were not even lukewarm, rice was undercooked and chewy, flavors were good but not up to health codes for buffets steam or hot tables. Desserts again were sparse, empty trays not being replenished etc. I tried the tres leches and flan and both were good. Overall experience was good with staff being friendly and attentive. Hovering is a bit much, let diners enjoy their experience, and their company, don't make them feel obligated to take a free picture then sell it in a frame for $20. We're not at Disneyland. I was thrilled to finally have a nicer upscale restaurant in Leander. In time with proper training and going through trial and error, you will strive for success and look forward to bringing and recommending others here to have a great experience with you. read more

This place fails as a restaurant. Slow. Actually beyond slow. Snails pace would be an improvement. And then on top of it the experience only remarkable in the number of things they fail at, for example, labeling the salad bar. Nothing matches the label. Really confusing and potentially dangerous for those of us with allergies. How about the meat you ask? Well, go back to slow. Eventually a guy with meat will show up. But with a single serving. Or someone will show up, mumble about needing to cook it more and run off. In the nearly two hours we were there (mostly waiting) we never saw the guy again. Maybe he ran to Brazil to cook the meat. That would help explain why there was such awful (and slow) service. Some of the dishes were ok. But I should have gone to Culver's or one of the other steakhouses next door. Well this definitely had fabulous potential. We went last minute for a little family dinner and usually don't go to places like this but wanted to check it out. It was giving expensive buffet tbh I don't understand how that can be expensive . Slanging meats around that weren't cooked quite right peroooo the inside was very pretty and lots of options for different pallets. The vibe is likely nicer at nighttime. The music however genuinely thrusted me into the yelp app. Why were we listening to feel this moment by pit bull and royals by lorde. Against my better judgement-I made reservations on VALENTINES DAY -for 4:30 in the afternoon. I must say this is one of the largest properties that is a restaurant that I have ever been to. It's so large. It reminds me of a banquet hall. We did indeed have reservations, however we still had to wait in line. It was not a long wait so for this holiday, we felt it was perfectly acceptable, especially dining exactly on Valentine's Day. We're very happy to have another dining option in the Leander area. The area off of 183 a between Crystal Falls Parkway and 1431, which we travel frequently now has many many options. The way the buffet portions of Estancia Brazilian steakhouse our laid out, makes it optimal to serve such a large volume of people at one time. It was packed and we never had to wait at the salad bar, the hot food bar or the soup area. Of course, what they are famous for is their meats which servers carry around on large skewers to either carve directly into your tongs or place right on your plate. We tried to wide variety of beef options, we also tried the chicken wrapped in bacon, & the sausages. The only small hiccup we had was not being able to get anybody that was serving the shrimp around to where we were sitting. Our server did everything she could to help us and finally one of the gentleman that had picked up some freshly cooked shrimp did indeed come by and my granddaughter, and I took full advantage of that. The only thing we didn't try was the lamb we had not seen it until we were just about ready to leave so it may have been an option they brought out for the official dinner service. I will be sure to try that when I return as I do enjoy lamb. The service was excellent for a new restaurant on such a big holiday. I honestly don't know how they did it. They displayed a lot of patients and although there was periodic disorganization observed overall the service was amazing. It is an expensive choice for us primarily due to our age, but we felt it was a great choice for such a special holiday. My husband and I met in 1968 and married in 1969. Part of the experience specifically for Valentine's Day was receiving a card to be able to return with a buy one get one free option. I can't wait to use it!!! We also received a free dessert. As is pretty typical in the E area the dress code was not in evidence. I didn't see anyone dressed inappropriately, but there was a wide variety including lots of reds & pinks- I did not see any shorts or tank tops and I was personally happy about that but I don't think there is a dress code. Next time I go I plan to ask. Our table was the first one horizontally after a fairly wide walkway for the servers and meat carvers to come and go to the kitchen /brazing area on one end and the dishwashers on the other. Lots of action in front of us which I didn't mind-a bonus for us was our view into the area where everything was on a spit or grilled etc. (at least my seat was because I was facing that big window) I must say I really enjoyed that. I think my dining companions and I enjoyed the beef fillet as well as the beef top sirloin the best but everything was good!!! I know this is late posting for Valentine's Day. I wrote it up and forgot to send it off of course.... Anyway, this gives us two options for Brazilian steakhouse dining within a few miles of our home. Hard to believe that 35 years ago when we moved out here, there wasn't even an H-E-B!!!!! There is an Estancia also in the Austin area but if you'd like to see this new ginormous version come on out to East 183A between Crystal Falls Parkway and Scottsdale Drive and give it a try. I will say that because there are three or four brand new restaurants and all of them have a good size parking. It is still packed pretty much consistently, but if you have a drop of patience, it doesn't take that long to find a spot where somebody is leaving. I can't wait to return and I might even try it for lunch!!! One small negative-we happen to love the grilled pineapple but there is an up-charge of $15. The other Brazilian Property in town includes it in the cost of the meal. I believe at Estancia they bring the entire cooked pineapple to the table but I had already budgetted for this big splurge so we did not order it. Overall a 5 ***** Star Experience! read more

I'm not usually a big buffet person or a fan of super heavy meals... but wow. I left this place with a serious case of the meat sweats. Mission accomplished, I guess. First off, be careful with that little card on the table. The moment you flip it to green, it's basically the Bat-Signal for meat. Next thing you know, servers are appearing from every direction like ninjas with skewers. Chicken, steak, sausage-just a nonstop parade of meat coming at you from every angle. At one point I swear I made eye contact with a guy across the room and he started walking over with another skewer. There is no escape. I definitely left here very full... like "maybe I should've worn sweatpants" full. The salad bar was a little lacking in choices, and I was kind of hoping for some sort of dessert bar to help finish things off. When you've eaten your body weight in meat, a little sugar victory lap would've been nice. Our table was frequently overlooked, and we often had to wait longer than expected for service. The waitstaff seemed overworked and stretched too thin. The hot bar was underwhelming, and the salad bar lacked the variety and freshness I've come to expect. The meats that made it to our table were consistently overcooked, with most arriving well done. The chimichurri sauce was noticeably different from what I'm used to, and the steak itself was bland and lacked seasoning. Overall, the experience felt poorly managed. So, let's start with what is good. It's in Leander, which is nice if you live here. They also make a good old fashioned. Where Estancia fails is on everything else. Speed of service was abysmal. 20 minutes in, three people walked to our table, then left, never to be seen again. Poured water. Left. A new person showed up, told us her name, took our drink order and left. Never to be seen again. It would be another 20 minutes before half the drink order arrived. And flagging down a manager (nice enough guy btw) to get the rest. The slow start continued at the salad bar. Mostly stocked but nothing was where the label said it was. Dressings, cheeses, salads, all mismatched with their label. Most things were simple enough to figure out, but not everything. And as a person with allergies, the mislabeled salads made it impossible to feel comfortable trying them. Nothing like a shrimp induced allergic reaction to ruin an evening. Now for the main meal. We finished our salads, waited on our drinks and were hoping that the meat would show up. A couple platters full of shrimp came in. I passed but my son said it was OK. Back to waiting. And... waiting And waiting. And some meat. But only two servings. So we split it four ways. A little family style. Not what we expected, but what we got. Back to waiting. Starting to regret being here for dinner. I am hungry and annoyed. Some more meats show up. They are OK. Nothing amazing, nothing worth waiting on this long. Some are better than others. Then we hit another period where there is nothing but guys with shrimp plates running around. And then I notice that the guys with meat are coming out again. The food is really excellent, the steak is amazing. The service seems completely disconnected from the rest of the operation. Something doesn't compute and it all starts with the front end. There is still an important disconnect between management/image/execution. The fail is execution right now. People are interchangeable and if they suck at the job, it is your duty to replace them quickly with someone who can and will do the simplest of jobs. We went for Father's Day and were so terribly disappointed. The service was awful, soft drinks never showed up, servers with the meat would say they'd be right back then never return. Everything we had was tough and/or overcooked. This made sense when the following week I saw staff at HEB with carts full of Hill Country Fare chicken, clearly quality is not something they value but still charge a premium. Servers were so personable and friendly, also constantly checking to see if we needed/wanted something- so great service! They even asked what meat we wanted and how we wanted it cooked! Really nice people. The food itself was delicious! My boyfriend and I loved their filet mignon medium rare. Chimichurri sauce was tasty too. I wasn't as interested in the salad bar or other sides because I was saving room for the different cuts. The crème brûlée was so good and definitely worth the add. The atmosphere was bustling and pretty fast paced when your card is green. Over the years, my wife and I have been to several different churrascarias. On a whim, we went to Estancia in Leander to celebrate our anniversary with our 10 year old in tow. The food started off great as my son absolutely loved the ala carte portion of the bacon wrapped chicken. My wife and I loved it too as it came around to our table. Unfortunately, as the different cuts of meat came around, the taste and quality of the cuts of meat seemed to continuously miss the mark. There was this strange after taste from several cuts of meat. In terms of the service, the waitress was nice initially. However, she rarely visited our table and seemed more concerned about talking with her colleagues then checking on her tables. We had to ask for our check several times from different servers and probably had to wait a good 20 minutes to get her attention. Overall, there are better churrascarias out there. read more

New location needs more time. We had been to the Arboretum location and glad to see a location in Leander. We dined on a Sunday. Location was crowded but we were seated timely. There seemed to be a staffing issue. Meats were slow to come out and manager had to go request on our behalf. When it arrived, most was not flavorful. We were so disappointed in the salad bar. There was not the variety that one would expect. They were out of a lot of items for replenishment. Service was sporadic at best. Not sure I would come back. We had been dining at Casa Do Brasil and enjoy it much better for the price. read more

We have been regulars at Estancia for years, all the way back to when they were located off 290 near Brodie. This location is really terrible. The salad bar is meager and what was available was meh. We had to constantly stop staff to ask for clean plates. We ordered cocktails and kept getting the wrong drinks so we just gave up drank the wrong drinks, then almost 30 minutes late they show up with three of the correct drinks. Half the table ordered off the menu and every meal was salted to death and underdone. The salmon one person ordered was cold and raw almost throughout the entire filet. The traditional service was a mess. When someone finally came by, everything was overcooked. It was like they were grossly understaffed, except there was staff everywhere - just doing nothing. We had three people ask if we needed anything else and we told them we were ready for the check. After another 30+ minutes we stopped a manager and asked if we could pay, but he couldn't figure out our check and had to go get another manager. Maybe the location is just too new and has a HEAP of bugs to work through. Visit the Arboretum location instead. The Leander location will either get their act together or close down. Can't keep anyone because it looks as though they don't train properly, servers and trainees are berated on the floor constantly, owner plays a favorites game with the staff and will fire on the spot in front of groups of people and guests. Beyond disappointing. The ambience and culture should be built from within, but they treat staff poorly in front of fellow guests. Every time we've been, previous bartender seems to have either quit or been fired. Alarming that the turn over rate seems to be so high. Food is good, though. read more
