Debbie. Is. Awesome. Let me just preface this review with saying... this was my first wax... of any kind... besides my eyebrows... ever. When I arrived at Esthetique this morning and met Debbie she was super friendly and calming. She told me that the absolute worst part of the process was the anticipation and build up, that yes it would be uncomfortable, but that it really isn't as bad as everyone thinks. She instructed me to undress from the waist down, and she left the room - knocking a few minutes later after I'd had time to get situated on her table. She said she'd walk me through the whole process, and even offered to hold my hand if need be! Offering up some pointers on spots that are a little more sensitive than others, as well as spots that you won't even notice, she starts! Within about 35 minutes or so, she was all done. We had chatted the whole time, and not just awkward "she's looking at my hoo-hah" small talk, but Debbie seems to have a genuine interest in her clients. I will absolutely go back in the next 4-6 weeks. Debbie was so nice, and as gentle as you can possibly be during this particular appointment. Deborah was amazing! I regularly get Brazilians and wanted to try sugaring. She is professional and so easy to talk too during such a personal thing being done....also she is FAST. For those of you who have gotten Brazilians before you know this is key. If you have never gotten a Brazilian I highly recommend seeing Deborah for one. My mom got a bikini sugaring from her and also gave a big thumbs up! Way less painful then traditional waxing. Also her pricing is spot on too... $80 for sugaring is not bad. Bamboo & Silk Esthetique is one of a kind. Deborah is so welcoming, knowledgable and professional. I have had many facials in my lifetime but no one matches the perfection that she exudes. Debbie is amazing! After recently relocating to Charlotte, I was worried I'd have a hard time finding a good aesthetician. Now, I'm no stranger to the Brazilian wax, so I definitely had expectations based on what I had experienced in the past - an uncomfortable and sometimes painful sticky wax job. Well, Debbie's sugar Brazilian was nothing of the sort! I have never had a pain-free Brazilian until I saw Debbie - and the sugar treatment wins hands down over wax! She fully prepped me before we began, explaining that the sensation with sugar is a little different than with wax, and then began her magic on the table. I had always visited Debbie at Esthetique (SHE IS PHENOMENAL!) - However this time I had an appointment with Karen as Debbie was'nt available and I needed a facial BAD after my return from a trip to sunny Hawaii tanned to a char. She seemed extremely skilled and understood what the problems were and which products to use. My nose was peeling off from the tan but stopped immediately after the treatment. I have a last min upcoming beach trip and was in desperate need of a bikini wax. I was interested in sugar waxing and luckily they were able to fit me in last min. Kelly at the front desk was so friendly and professional. This was my first time here and I got a sugaring treatment of bikini and underarms. I have done hard waxing treatments in the past and wanted to try sugaring since it's supposed to be less irritating for sensitive skin and all natural! Let me tell you I'll never go back to hard wax! Krista made me feel so comfortable during the whole process and everyone at Esthetique was wearing masks and taking safety precautions for COVID. In my opinion it's way less painful than hard wax, I think those who say it's more are just not used to pain lol. Yeah waxing hurts in the moment but this was less painful for me. Normally I have beyond sensitive skin and have very thick dark coarse hair and I always get ingrowns. After I left my appt I realized I didn't feel any irritation or soreness which I always feel after a hard wax. I am beyond thrilled I found sugaring so I'm hooked now! Krista was just fantastic and I highly recommend her and Esthetique! There wasn't that rush feeling of they just want to wax you and get you out. She took her time, had nice conversation, and they give you a nice warm towel and natural oil serum afterwards to put on to help prevent the ingrowns. Today was my first time with Debbie for some Brazilian sugaring. I was so pleased! Her "shop" is in a beautiful old home where other "spa" services are offered. Her area is large and spacious and clean. Her chair is also the most comfortable I've ever been on. She made me feel so comfortable. We chatted the entire time (which really helps to distract from any pain!). And she did a great job! Didn't use any tweezers...because there were no hairs left behind! Will definitely be going back!
