Patio scene

Estrada's Grill has been established on Chapman for as long as I can recall. This was my 1st visit & I wasn't disappointed. Located in an old strip mall, the parking lot is old, but there are plenty of parking spots. You can enter from the parking or from the street. There were three people in line when I arrived. They ordered their food and then sat down. As I had never been there before, and the lady ahead of me had, I ordered what she did. The special was three tacos for some reason reasonable cost. I had a choice of potato, chicken or beef. I got one of each. I started with the potato as that is one of my favorite tacos. It was a little on the bland side despite adding the accompanied green sauce. Which was delicious and hot. I believe it would have benefited from pico de gallo. They had a great deal of lettuce and a little bit of cheese and no tomato. The covered patio is surrounded with plants. It was loud against the sound of Chapman just on the other side of the sidewalk. Yet it's preferable to the indoors booths IMHO. They have soup made on the premises as well as lots of options on the menu. I'm looking forward to returning and trying more to find what is best and what isn't. I think the daily special may not have been the best way to try the tacos for the first time.

Cheese Burger Basket

If you like Angelo's, Ted's burgers or Paul's Place; you're going to love this spot. Drove by this establishment multiple times. Finally gave it a shot with my mother. As a big foodie and hamburger lover, we've always said there has to be someone that finally cracks the hamburger combo code and includes fries and onion rings with a drink. We'll look no further. For 13.99 bacon cheese burger basket with fries, onion rings, fried zukini and a medium drink. Or 12.99 for regular cheese burger. The place itself is spotless and they serve you a fresh cold bottle of ketchup and a bottle of homemade ranch with your order. The Mexican dishes like the chilaquiles and machaca looked delicious. I'll confess I've had about 3 of these combos already. Ratings: Cheese burger: 9/10 Fries: 8/10 Onion rings: 10/10 Zukini: 9/10 Customer service: 9/10 Overall rating: 5/5 stars Price for party if two $23.71

Dang sorry my pictures didn't really come out of the food not sure why.... I only got hashbrowns and coffee and the hashbrowns were made perfectly....the coffee was just normal coffee don't be going here like you think it's a Starbucks! My friend got a veggie burrito and he liked it and my other friend got a breakfast burrito and she liked it... Place is small and the staff I have to give them a 10+ very attentive checked on you and the place was decently busy for the size... I would come again just because of the staff and the decent food!

1. The machaca plate is one of their special breakfast plate, and it was delicious! I love the meat mixed with the eggs! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes with both inside and outside seatings! 3. The staff were friendly and timely with the meal! It took less than 10 mins! 4. Parking is small but it's not busy! Note: You can leave the plate on the table after your meal as they will clean up after you! Photo: Machaca Plate and Jamaica

Breakfast burrito -small piece of egg, some mushy hash browns, and pretty good spam and sausage. Horchata -good tasting horchata Yo $10 for a small breakfast burrito with minimal filling inside, idk about that. The sauces the burrito came with were really good. The horchata is good. I don't know about $10 for a breakfast burrito though.

Patio lunch on a nice afternoon.

This place is close to my mother's home. I came here twice in two days. They were an interesting contrast. Yesterday, I had a burger with onion rings, fries, and zucchini. The burger was ok. Not a tremendous amount of flavor - pretty generic. Thickly sliced onions and tomatoes made it pretty big to eat. I ate less than half. The fried sides were very greasy and really needed salt. I ate 2 of the rings. The whole thing was kind of blah. Today, I was in this area at lunch again. I noticed people seeming to really enjoy Mexican food yesterday, so I decided to give them another shot. I got huevos rancheros. Really quite good. Three eggs perfectly cooked with gooey yolk. A red and a spicier green sauce adorned the eggs, with cheese sprinkled on top - served with beans and rice. Everything was delicious. The corn tortillas with a little beans and egg inside was so good dipped in the egg yolk. So the moral is get Mexican food here; it's delicious. I'm sure the burgers have their fans. But I'd get what they do really well here. Yum.

$17 for this. Food is ok but not anything more special than del taco. Seventeen Bucks?? Yikes. I won't return.
Steven M.

Food is ok. Service with a smile. No ambiance... diner style seating. $17 for 2 enchiladas, refried beans, a drink, and rice is criminal. Quality isn't much different than del taco.

Amazing good great people great service and INSANE deals!

But then he came back and said it didn't register so needed to redo some of our orders. He then told us his shift was ending and another girl would be taking over service of our tables. Then the food started coming out. Some plates we didn't even order. Some plates were extra plates of what we ordered. Tortillas came with the plates and I ordered corn tortillas, but they gave me flour. I asked for corn and returned the flour. The server said he has to charge me for it. I asked why? I didn't get what I ordered. I shouldn't have to pay extra for something I'm supposed to get, but didn't. He initially didn't understand, but finally got it. Food was good. One person's carne asada was burnt and tough, but others said what they ordered was good. Glass of wine was a bit skimpy for the price. Then the bill came. We triple checked the bill to make sure we weren't charged for anything we didn't order since there were so many plates that came out that we didn't order. Turned out a plate of chile verde was on the bill that we didn't order. Had our new server take it off the bill, but the automatic 18% gratuity didn't change. It was based off the original total because she took off the cost of the extra charge as a discount not a deleted item. The bill was finally cleared, but it should not have been so much work for us to make sure the bill was correct. In the end, consensus was the food was good, but the service was dysfunctional, between the multiple mis-orders and multiple requests for napkins, utensils, tortillas, and chips and the questions about the bill. Maybe okay for smaller groups or if you do go with a larger group, ask to do separate bills.

Decided to drop in and was delighted to know their Taco Tuesday special is $1 street tacos for a select handful of 8 protein fillings and $2 for 6 other choices. Even their regular price is still very reasonable. There was definitely a line around 6pm but it moved quickly. Love that they also have a self service taco condiments bar and area on the side of their truck where you can top your food with the freshly sliced or pickled veggies/chilis and slather on various taco sauces to your heart's content. Especially loved that they use a rotating gyro style meat grill for some of their meats. I also noticed they had another truck/van parked nearby where one of the staff would go to replenish some of their supplies for their taco truck. What an efficient way to keep up with demand by having a mobile/secondary vehicle that you can use for storage of stock to keep up with the high demand. I loved all the street tacos that I tried: carnitas, fried fish filet, al pastor, carne asada. Flavorful and done right! Definitely recommend this spot any day of the week when they're open, but especially for their Taco Tuesday specials.

Just visited the new Los Grandes Originales in Santa Ana, and we'll definitely be back!…read more We had heard of the original location but never had the chance to visit, so we were excited to try this one. We learned that the owners here are the original cooks and siblings of the late owner of the first location, which made the experience feel even more meaningful. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted. Since it was our first visit, we took our time looking over the menu, and the cashier was incredibly patient and never made us feel rushed. We ended up ordering a burrito combo, a chile relleno combo, a hard taco and enchilada combo, two taco combos, and a few horchatas. The portions are definitely generous, and everything we tried was packed with flavor. The restaurant itself is clean, spacious, and has plenty of seating, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. While we were waiting for our food, one of the owners came over and chatted with us about the restaurant's history. He shared that after the original owner passed away, many of the longtime cooks and staff decided to come together and open this new location, continuing the recipes and traditions they had been serving for years. Hearing that story, along with the genuine warmth and hospitality we experienced, made us appreciate the restaurant even more. It's not often that you find great food paired with such sincere customer service. They made us feel like regulars from our very first visit. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, generous portions, and a family-owned business that truly cares about its customers, Los Grandes Originales is definitely worth a visit.
