The food here is pricey and not good. The fish in the stuffed avocado was way too lemony. The avocado itself was hard. The rope vieja was underseasoned. The wonton tacos were too sweet. The expresso martinis were bitter. The service was okay. Waiter was friendly. The rooftop is kinda small and at night the view is dark so it doesn't add to the experience.
We decided to visit Eter to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was 20mins from our hotel which was interesting with traffic. Reservation is required. Checkin is required at the front desk prior to getting on the elevator to the restaurant. The reservations were limited online but it wasn't very many people there when we arrive. Parking: available in the lot under the building. Be sure to drive slow if you will miss the turn. Service: 4/5 the waiter gave great feedback on the menu. We waited around 25mins for the food. I noticed maybe 2 or 3 waiters so the service Ambiance: it was surprisingly quiet for a restaurant. Intimate setting, nice for a date nice or nice dinner. Order: Seafood Pasta- 4/5 tasty with plenty of of seafood Salmon- 3:5 it was flavorful but I've had better. It was just alright in my opinion. Overall, I give my experience a 3.5.
Good food, disappointing service and billing practices. I visited this restaurant with a friend, and while the food was genuinely good, the service experience left us feeling disappointed--and frankly, taken advantage of. I was deciding between the lobster risotto ($45) and the seafood fettuccine ($34) and asked our waiter, Orlando, if I could substitute the pasta in the fettuccine with risotto instead. He said "Absolutely, we can do that"--no mention of any upcharges. What arrived was a risotto dish with the lobster and seafood typically included in the fettuccine. Tasty, yes--but I was shocked when the bill came. I was charged the full $45 for the lobster risotto plus add-ons for every other seafood item: * $14 for shrimp * $12 for mussels (even though half didn't open) * $10 for calamari * $14 for scallops All added without any explanation or warning. To make matters worse, a dessert was mistakenly placed on our table by a trainee and later charged to us--despite not ordering it. Thankfully, that was eventually removed. When I expressed concern about the unexpected charges, Orlando told us he spoke to the manager, but "there was nothing they could do." I asked to speak to the manager, he was more understanding and removed one seafood add-on--but the final cost was still far more than expected. In fact, I would have gotten more food for less money by just ordering both dishes separately. It felt like an upsell trap, and we left feeling taken advantage of. If you choose to dine here, ask for clarity up front on any substitutions or changes--or you may get stuck with a surprise bill like I did.
Beautiful rooftop restaurant. Miguel the GM was just a pleasure, so inviting and friendly. Orlando was our server. He was professional, informative and sweet. However, there were major snafus with our service. We sat down at about 7:35pm, had drinks and appetizers and then waited two more hours for our entrees. We didn't receive them until 10:15pm. I mean, can you imagine a wait like this?? There were apologies and we did get a couple bottles of rose champagne for the table, but this was pretty outrageous and it impacted our plans for the night. We were to go out afterwards but after being at the restaurant 3+ hours, we decided to just head back to our air bnb. As for the food and drinks, I had the guavalicious cocktail. It was so good, much like a rum punch with guava. I had the tamarind ribs with sweet plantains plus a Caesar salad. I split this with my sister's beef tenderloin over gnocchi. The meats were prepared well. Both were tender and flavorful. The gnocchi lacked seasoning for me. The plantains were delicious, though. My friends enjoyed their steaks. One friend ordered the red snapper, it lacked seasoning. Another friend loved her lobster pasta. All in all, the food delivered but the wait for dinner was horrific. We found out later that our server thought he ordered our entrees but didn't. People make mistakes but it really ruined our night. It should have resulted in a discount. We were initially offered a free bottle of water for the table until I didn't need more water. That was a major service miss.
I love rooftop bars and was so looking forward to this evening with 4 friends at Eter, had read that it had the best views in San Juan. Alas, the views were not good (very industrial area) and there was a distinct odor of exhaust fumes that kind of ruined our appetites and the atmosphere. The food was okay - shrimp cocktail was undercooked, some items needed salt/seasoning. On the plus side - the staff was wonderful. Sunny and Leslye were upbeat & personable as our hosts, and our server Sebastian was top notch. This review was no reflection on them. The drinks and service were great!
The view and vibes were nice when we first arrived but the wait time was crazy. Waited an hour for appetizers and another for main course just to be wrong. You'd also think a rooftop restaurant knows how to handle rain but they waited 15 min before giving us hand held umbrellas. They forgot one of my group member's drinks, messed up an order, and completely forgot mine. The steaks we received were lukewarm at best and my food looked nothing like the picture on the menu. I ordered the gnocchi with steak and the gnocchi was rock hard and dry. It also had mushroom inside which was never advertised!!?? Overall, it was gross and I couldn't even eat it. At least the waiter and supervisor offered 2 free drinks and a discount.
Reviews don't lie and I knew this going in so I can't be upset. Don't do it. Avoid this spot at all cost. The view sucks, and there pool is the size of my shower. when you do get your food (2hrs later)it's not even edible and the price ... no way. Haven't seen a place charge me two types of taxes. One for the food and the other liquor. Hard hard pass.
It doesn't open until the later afternoon during the week. They do have brunch options on weekends I recommend making a reservation especially for the evening. They close early on the evenings it's not open all night long so plan your reservation accordingly. The restaurant is located on a rooftop lounge and it is beautiful and lovely. 360 views of the city really capture the beauty of Puerto Rico. The services is fine, I did not try the food, their drinks are okay, I should've taken a picture but I was with the group of people and I pretty much just forgot. Pay attention to the weight limit on the elevator there shouldn't be more than four people we had six people in our elevator and it actually started making noise and sounded like it was struggling as it got to the top kind of scary for a second. This is where he put your makeup on curl your hair and look beautiful type of night . This is where you want to take those Instagram pictures. If I ever come back this will be a must stop. I'm well aware of what fresh cuisine should taste like as I frequently visit five star establishments, this was not it . When I arrive for my reservation, I was greeted by no one. I then proceeded to sit myself watch two other guest, be seated and receive water before I have even received anything. Then after pointing out to what I later found was not the manager Jose that no one has seen me or greeted me. I stated that I would like a water. I still wasn't given one. Jose also told me he was the manager when I asked to speak with the manager. The girl at the bar was the most friendly part of this whole experience. Then when my omelette came out with cheese that wasn't even melted, that was the end of this experience and I knew I needed to get my check and leave. So for the nightlife, I can understand why this would be a popular night spot with all of the lights in the view, but for brunch, it was abysmal. I'm going to leave pictures of the food because I want someone else to judge whether I'm just being super picky, but I've seen better omelettes at IHOP. Also as nice as the bartender was her two drinks weren't even strong but they were tasty. I definitely give this place 1 out of 10, and the 1 is for the view. Of note: when I mentioned to the person that told me they were the manager Jose, that I was unhappy with the omelet his response was not to remake it to my liking. His response was well we still have to charge you. I also booked my dining under open table with a reservation. He cancelled my reservation in the app so I couldn't write a review on the open table app. This manger and establishment is slimey. Don't spend your money there!!! The actual manager Miguel stands behind this horrible behavior.
This place came highly recommended and I concur. First you must have a reservation for this place. They do have valet parking for $7. Not sure if there is other parking, we didn't look. The view was great, being able to see the city. Our waiter, Leonardo was amazing and not only gave great food recommendations, but also places to go after dinner. Dinner and drinks themselves were delicious. We had two appetizers, Chicken Fricassee Croquettes and Filet Mignon Steak Taquitos on Crispy Dumpling Shell that we really liked, the crispy dumplings we ordered seconds of. Of the main courses, I will say the risotto was a little salty and the salmon was a bit dry. Can be pricey, so be ready to spend. Astonishing view of San Juan -- absolutely worth it for the atmosphere alone. The host was super friendly, raved about my cowboy hat, and showed me his own Stetson-style one. Juan, our server, was excellent -- upbeat, attentive, and even asked passing staff for their opinions when we had questions. We started with the three-cheese shrimp dip and house-made chips -- savory, crisp, and addictive. The lobster risotto was balanced and rich without being heavy. Cocktails across our table -- Pineapple Breeze, Rooftop Reserve, The Bitter End, and Cab Sour -- were creative, smooth, and beautifully presented. Lots of people celebrating birthdays and milestones on a Tuesday night -- the energy was great. Small quirks: the bathroom door doesn't fully close, and swimming in the rooftop pool might feel like performing for the crowd. Still, Éter delivers on the promise -- warm service, strong drinks, and a killer view. read more
Lovely rooftop restaurant. Food was very good. Drinks were very good. It was a bit slow getting in to be seated but once seated they took care of us. When it started to rain they brought umbrellas and when it looked like it wasn't going to clear we moved inside and down a floor. Inside is not nearly as nice a space but we weren't wet. read more
Went for my daughter's birthday celebration. The service was a little slow. I loved the view. It was fabulous to me. The food was really good and I am not a fan of avocado but the salad was DELICIOUS, avocados and all. My steaks cooked to perfection. Again the server was slow even bringing the check. read more

Absolutely the best rooftop venue in San Juan, PR. Stunning view and even better cuisine AND service makes Eter a must for me every visit to PR! Staff of Rock Stars! Nice to find a place where the entire staff is on point, all the time! read more

The view was gorgeous. My friends and I ordered food and drinks. We talked, sipped our drinks, took photos with the amazing view; until we realized we had been sitting taking photos for a while. I saw another group of girls who got there around the same time as us and got their drinks and left while looking upset about 45 minutes into our wait. Our total wait time for our food after ordering was 90 minutes. At this point we had all finished our drinks as well. Then about 5 tables received their orders at the same time as us. I had ordered the Seared Branzino. For what I had paid, there was not much food. On top of that, my friends who had ordered the Lobster Risotto (3 out of 6 of us) told me that their risotto was not even warm, there were ingredients missing from each of their plates, dishes looked completely different, and one had significantly less risotto than the others. All of our food had almost completely cooled down. And upon looking at their website and the food photos, the food they presented us looked nothing like the photos. I was honestly very disappointed in the service and the quality of our experience and the food. If you want a nice view, I would recommend but only for that. read more
The breeze was nice. Drinks as well. Food was good as well and surprised us. The rooftop on top the hotel was really a wonderful addition. The service a bit slow. Tall guy from NJ was wonderful our second night. Bartenders were fun. read more

Definitely just a tourist trap. The food was over priced and underwhelming. Everything was either over seasoned or bland. There was no happy medium. The ambiance was the only enjoyable thing about my experience. Well I take that back I had a good drink! Our server was overwhelmed and slow. We had to ask him multiple times for the same things. But the most upsetting thing is if you order something and you don't like it....YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT! Don't waste your time if you're thinking about making this a spot to check out whilst on vacation. read more
Dope vibe and amazing ambience. Elmer our server took great care of us out celebrating my niece 23rd birthday. Definitely recommend this spot whenever you are in Puerto Rico! Food was delicious, I always forget to take a picture when it comes out lol. read more

Looking at the reviews for this place... it definitely doesn't seem like somewhere to take time out of your day going to. But alas, we were drawn in by the view (which was absolutely incredible), and I love me some brunch. We arrived basically when the place opened, so we had almost the entire rooftop to ourselves. The service was definitely a bit slow considering this fact, and I saw three servers on their phones standing around when they could have been coming over to take our order, BUT once they did take our order, the water service and general service afterward improved a lot. I ordered the chicken and waffles (specifically the squid ink waffles). They were... okay. The chicken had good crunch and was meaty, but it ended up being just a tad dry. The waffles, though it was cool that they were black from the squid ink, did not taste any different and they were oddly heavy for waffles. What I love about waffles is the airiness of it, but these were a little too cakey. Finally, this may be small but it's notable that they put the syrup on for us, which meant that the entire waffle was absolutely soaked when it was served to us. They should definitely consider serving the syrup on the side so that people who don't like as much syrup have the freedom to customize and to keep the freshness of the waffle. I also had the mountain mojito mocktail which was great! Very refreshing and tasted like passionfruit juice with a hint of bubbles. The view is the jackpot here, with decent food and drinks to accompany it. To reiterate: view was the main character and food and drinks were the sidekicks, so it's really a matter of what you want to prioritize in your experience! read more
If you've been following me on Yelp or IG, you'll notice that rooftop bars are my jam! When I travel I usually try to catch at least one sunset at a rooftop bar. Eter was close to my hotel and from the photos I've seen had really nice sunset views of San Juan and surroundings. I purposely went and made reservations about an hour before sunset and I'm glad I did. Even during a pandemic, this place was busy close to sunset time and I can see why! We had a couple of drinks, well made cocktails, my favorite was the Lucid Dream. We weren't hungry and I had reservations elsewhere for dinner, but the octopus dish looked interesting so we had that as an appetizer. It was delicious, grilled to perfection and not rubbery or tough at all. I have to admit I did read some of the lackluster reviews here, but our experience didn't reflect that! I would definitely make another visit to Eter again the next time I'm in Puerto Rico. read more

El ambiente es muy tranquilo; vanguardista con música House, techno House y Chillout; facilitan cualquier petición de sus invitados. Por ejemplo solicité autorización para una serenata privada y fue posible. La bebidas son muy ricas y la comida me gustó las dos entradas. The food is good, drinks are great, the waiter here is super entertaining and seems to be a huge music fan. He rattled off all kinds of music facts to us while we waited for (only my food which took about 30 -45 minutes longer than the rest of my party for some reason). The food was not hot but tasted good - when I got home. It took so long I asked them to box it before it even got to me, so those reviews are accurate. I ordered the surf and turf. The steak was VERY good and perfectly cooked (medium). The risotto and shrimp were as expected. I recommend this place for the vibe and views, even the drinks- the server created a drink called the WAP - try it!! Him and the drinks and weather/view made it an enjoyable experience. I wouldn't rush back for anything except that and possible good Instagram pictures. read more
Parking is located on any street around the restaurant or $7 for valet. Upon entering we were told that our reservation would only be allotted 2 hours total although the restaurant was empty. You are purely paying for the view when you come here. I ordered a beer which was served room temperature. We started with the octopus-one octopus leg plated with a sauce and an aioli. The flavors were excellent but the portion was one bite per four people so I only recommend this if you are 2 people. I ordered the mahi which was over cooked, dry and salty. It was served with chayote which was different good but it did not mellow out how salty the dish was. Everyone at the table concurred that the meals were all salty. The music here was very loud during dinner time which then changed to a club mix as it got later in the night. I could barely hear the people at my table talking. I enjoyed the breeze on the roof but I do not plan on coming here again because I left hungry after spending $50 on a meal. read more

The service here was amazing. Andrea was our waiter. She was very nice and gave our group her best recommendations for food and drinks. I had the NY Strip Steak and it was amazing. I definitely look forward to coming here the next time I'm in San Juan. read more

They run their generator 24/7 and the exhaust goes right to the rooftop (where you eat). Only half of the restaurant is breathable. read more
Definitely came here due being influence via Tik tok. The view is very nice. Our server was attentive, we had a party of 5 and had reservations for 8:30pm and were seated pretty quickly. However, the table was not sturdy at all which made eating kind of hard. The food here is very small portion and on the pricey side. The drinks were good, they're able to make accommodations as needed. The seafood pastas were yummy! read more

Excellent food . Went Jan 1st . Roof top has spectacular view. Very romantic spot . We ordered Whole Fried Red Snapper Stuffed with Mamposteao Rice.it is a piece of art the way they bring you to your table.
