I never write reviews, but... Service here is beyond exceptional as everyone is so friendly, welcoming, and conversational. This space is a bubble of down to earth vibes that so clearly cares about fostering community. The actual physical space is incredible... you can sit at a bar, on a couch, on a table, on many different pairs of chairs, indoors and outdoors... Also the coffee and food are great! They have an excellent selection of pastries and convenient grab & go options like cold sandwiches and pasta salads. Their outdoor space is well kept and there's plenty of seating available. Etiquette Coffee is in a really nice and quiet area of Arts District. When I went, I was pretty surprised with the interior since it was not what I was expecting from the looks of the outside seating area, both very beautiful. The inside is very hip and dark, being connected to a barber shop and a tattoo studio. I really enjoyed that there was an optimal amount of seating as well as books, games, darts, and billiards to keep you busy while you are there. The barista was also very friendly and treated each customer as if they knew them personally. I got the Lavender Latte which had a really strong essence of lavender. I personally didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would, but I think that was my fault for ordering a floral coffee when I wanted something refreshing. Looking through the menu, the food items look delicious, so I hope to go try it soon while taking some time to get some work done. read more

Etiquette Coffee has been on my list for a while and I'm really glad we went. Their outside seating has a way of making you feel like you're somewhere else for a moment I really love that it's not just a concrete ally but has a sandy ground and tan cloth above that provides shade. I'm not sure how they made an LA ally feel so clean and sophisticated but they did a great job. Almost felt like I was back in Europe The cafe itself is located in what I think is a really cool and interesting street. It feels like a dead-end street with some businesses and a few storage houses. It definitely has that urban feeling that some people search for. The cafe seems to blend in perfectly with the rest of the buildings and can even be unnoticeable driving past it. I definitely got a feeling it's well loved by the locals who know about this little gem. It also looks like their brand is more than just coffee. I love to see cafes selling products they're passionate about and building more of a community that way. There's definitely a specific crowd that Etiquette Coffee attracts and you can feel it when you walk in. Our barista was so funny and enthusiastic and everyone in there, even the patrons, seem like interesting characters. I had great things to say about their drinks too we ordered a matcha and chai tea and the chai was our favorite of the two. Very happy to be able to taste spices and not a basic concentrate that some cafes use! The milk foam was blended to perfection - the warm, fuzzy texture of the foam made me feel like I was partaking in a VIP drinking experience. The drink itself was also pleasant - the quality of the Vanilla is evident and the Vanilla mixed well with the flavor of milk and coffee. I saw this place on TikTok and decided to try it out due to the fact that it had a great ambiance and patio. Once I got there the staff greeted us but the gentleman taking orders was very rude. He asked what I wanted while he was making other drinks. He didn't give me the respect of taking my order one on one and yelled, "anything else" from across the bar, Just super rude. Then, on the way out we decided to take pictures of the inside and one of the staff told us that we look like, " a lost compass." Definitely will not be returning and will stick to good old Starbucks. WILL DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND TO ANY FRIENDS OR FAMILY. Im having a hard time rating this place because I've been here a few times and I clearly love the coffee shop. If you see people walk up to the register at least acknowledge them. The staff asked for my I order after 10 mins and I asked if can order the cafe de olla and the guy sarcastically says I could not because they were out of a specific ingredients and laughs. It's fine that you're out of ingredients, not a big deal but your response came out very douche. No need to try to act cool in front of other customers. Thirdly our coffee was ready, he didn't even let us know. He just left it on the counter and another customer let us know it was ready. If you want to keep your customers, treat them like customers. Also I can't believe it took 38 minutes to get a sandwich. My rating is mostly based from the service the past two times. read more

Incredible coffee! It's tucked away deep in Arts District but so glad I was able to come across Etiquette Coffee. I got the Vanilla Latte - the house made vanilla bean syrup is chefs kiss. The space itself is super cute - indoor and out. Would be a lovely spot for a coffee date. I haven't tried their food yet, but the breakfast burrito is on my list! One of my two favorite coffee shops in Los Angeles. Great matcha latte (and boyfriend says the coffee is great). Love the guys who work there (and also make the most delicious and creative breakfast burrito). The only good thing about this place is their cute patio. The customer service is horrible. One of the baristas had cigarette on his ear and he kept nagging on how he wanted to smoke it to his co worker while he took my order. We ordered a vanilla latte and a lavender latte. They advise us that our order was ready and we asked the guy with the cig on his ear which one is which? He rudely tells us that he doesn't know and to smell them. We attempted to disregard his rude reply and enjoy our coffee but the coffee was not good. It was super water down! Do yourself a favor and just go to the other coffee shops that are close by. I'm from LA and I can assure you that there is better coffee and customer service some where else. read more

Hall of Fame BREAKFAST BURRITO! I'll be coming back specifically for these burritos...can't say enough how yummy it was. The grilled cheese and jalapeno on the tortilla wrap is something I've never experienced before and it's divine. You can tell they did their research as well as trial and error to get this burrito to perfection. Also had the cold brew...it was good. Nothing too special there and I'll def try one of their specialty drinks next time. The ambiance and decor is clean, modern, and relaxing - tucked away from the busy street and annoyances that come with the typical DTLA nuisance. The guys there were really friendly and welcoming. When you are looking for a coffee shop it is hard to find one that has 1) great coffee 2) great food and 3) free wifi...especially in downtown. Etiquette managed to put all three together. This space is familiar although Etiquette just moved in, opened with a new name, staff, menu, and energy. Doesn't really get better than this. Good times. read more

Incredible breakfast burrito. Every single part of it is absolutely nailed. Texture, temperature, flavor, even price. Everything seems considered. Big enough and flavorful enough to justify the $12 tag, when others like GGET/Guerilla Cafecito/Angry Egrette are, yes, delicious, but seem juuust a bit too much of a stretch. Especially GGET. I think best-of lists will be adding this bfast burrito soon. Plus really good coffee ofc, I had a cortado which was very flavorful and served in a nice thick ceramic cup. So at least they have good espresso. And you can get a haircut while you're there if you've made an appointment! Just a great place to be. read more

Avoid this place at all costs! Coffee was awesome, so was the decor, but I witnessed the barista blow his nose right in front of us and DID NOT wash his hands! Other guests proceeded to order and he still did not sanitize his hands... BROOOOOO. We have Covid still running rampant and now Monkey Pox. I wanted to puke. Great ambiance. Interior deco has a great vibe and look to it. But terrible service/attitude from the barista. First off, we enter the the place, they're blasting the music so loud we could barely hear each other and the barista. After he finally notices us, he reluctantly turns around and says "go ahead" and turns around and gets back to finishing his order. We understand, things can get busy. But after we yelled our order over the music, his back still turned to us, he doesn't give us any indication that he heard us. So we're just standing there until he's done making whatever drink he's working on, he comes back and says "that it?", no name for the order, no number, nothing. While waiting, we noticed when drinks are complete, they just place them on the counter and don't say anything for about 5 minutes, then they'll just yell out the name of the drink and get back to what they're doing. The barista seemed to be short and rude to every single patron except his bicycle buddies that were hanging out. They get the honor of having great customer service! All other patrons, go FYs! I thought that maybe they were just having an off day until I read other reviews, and this seems to be a common experience with other patrons with the SAME barista. Would it kill him to up his Etiquette a notch? I think it did. read more
