I ordered 4 custom pre-hung doors and 5 door blanks. They came sooner than expected. They were locked down on pallets wrapped in plastic with a 3/8" plywood armor. One of the few things that arrived on our job that wasn't broken in transit. The solid core door blanks easily accepted a 1" deep router groove for a pocket door guide. The primer was complete and smooth, ready to paint. The hinges are high quality and beefy. The fire door for the garage came with a door gasket weather stripping, auto closing hinges and an aluminum threshold. Everything was high quality. Poor e-commerce experience. Ordered 2 exterior doors on line. The price I paid wasn't the actual price, they sent me a true up invoice afterward via email not sure thats even legal in CA. The shipping tracking info didnt work and they were unresponsive to an email asking for help/ guidance. Doors still havnt arrived but after some calls they are supposed to arrive tmrw. These folks are aspiring to be a first class ecommerce company but they need to focus on the basics. Wanted to update this review. I received the doors yesterday and they are excellent quality, carefully crated. I also received a call yesterday from the manager or owner of the company apologizing for the tracking snafu and explaining that the additional charge was because their software wasn't computing state tax properly. I would say based on the fine quality of the product give them a look. read more

Through no fault of their own there was an issue is the shipping of the doors we ordered and ETO's staff quickly responded and resolved the issue. We are doing a luxury flip in Las Vegas and wanted to replace all the doors (16 total). Found ETO online who apparently used to have a location here, but is only in CA now. I requested an estimate from ETO. They were quick to get back to me and their pricing was favorable to other quotes I got. The automated follow ups were helpful as well. Being new to all the door terminology, I had a lot of questions, maybe even some stupid questions, as I tried to navigate as middle man between our contractor and ETO rep Audrey. Pre-hung, jambs, casings, trims, moldings, slabs only, finished, unfinished, hardware, no hardware, hinge varieties -- there's a lot to take in and translate. I guess I asked one too many stupid questions because she stopped responding all together, after weeks of correspondence and quotes. We were in the final stages and were likely going to choose them. But after she ghosted me I had to find another place. My initial impression of Audrey was that she was professional, but a tad aloof and impatient. Very short, non empathetic responses. Thought maybe I was imagining it and really wished I could work with someone else over there (and tried to communicate with a different rep who emailed me separately), since I didn't want to burden her which it felt like I was doing. But I had a lot of questions being that it was going to be a $20K purchase and there was no local showroom to see and feel the actual product. But after my last emails I guess she was too annoyed or didn't think I was serious. Brandon D., I called 3 weeks ago and requested contact with the manufacturer of our custom $4K door. We did not receive, nor were we told we would not receive frame and door strike plates. Commercial versions don't align with the measurements of our door, so we need the manufacturer to send them to us. What we did receive with our door handle set does not fit the larger scale of our door and I've found nothing after searching for hours. The door is beautiful, but not so much when you can see it's not finished properly. This also affects the doors function. So have someone get back to us or just send us what we need. We are building our retirement home and wanted a custom made door. The only setback was it took 6 to 8 weeks longer to receive the product which impacted our build time frame. It was worth the wait. We ordered an 8' full-lite fiberglass exterior door from ETO Doors to replace one in the house we recently purchased that had been installed backwards! The hinges were on the outside; it appears that the previous owner had ordered the wrong "swing" and simply decided that he wasn't going to replace it. Eight-foot doors are not cheap, especially when you need a good quality one that faces to the south in Arizona! I did my research, and after all was said and done, found that ETO Doors had the best quality and selection. I was able to order exactly what I wanted with every detail planned. Once I placed the order, I was even more impressed when we got a called from the service department going over the details to make sure that everything was correct. (It was.) Although we are working with a contractor - ETO doors generated my quote request within hours and even updated it by the end of the day when I wanted to explore exterior door options. Our biggest surprise came with the samples. I made a comment in my first reply that samples would help us decide and without giving us any hassle or additional steps, two beautiful white oak solid core door samples arrived in the mail. I can't stress enough how horrible our experience was with this company. We ordered a beautiful front entry door for our remodel project, with a lead time of 8-10 weeks as the piece was being shipped overseas. No problem. 12 weeks go by and we call for an update, the ship hasn't left the port. More waiting. By the time we reached 5 months, we were told the shipping container was received and they would begin unloading/processing. By the time we reached 6 months since placing the order, we were told our door wasn't even in the shipping container to begin with. Their response? We can order one for you for another 4-6 weeks of processing. Unbelievable. SIX MONTHS of wasted time with no accountability from ETO for dropping the ball on our order. If you have all the time in the world to call, and call, and keep calling, just maybe you'll get your order. Otherwise, find a supplier who actually follows through. read more

I used Eto several years ago to provide multiple doors for a small commercial building I was remodeling. They did great. This last year I was doing a residential remodel that needed a custom door manufactured. They assured me they could accommodate, either through their vendors or by manufacturing it themselves. They were going to look into it and get back to me. They didn't. I called twice and emailed multiple times re following up on this request. A simple, "We can't do it" would have been fine, but they just ignored me. Annnnd, we're done. read more

PJ is the absolute best, he is super helpful and responsive and has great attention to detail. I work with a lot of clients and quotes from multiple companies day to day, and PJ has been without a doubt the easiest to work with. Even reps from companies with much more expensive products and massive projects worth $100k+ aren't nearly as detailed and helpful. Every door and window company needs a PJ. As a practicing architect for almost 5 decades, now retired, I have specified 1000s of stain grade doors for office and multi-family high rise applications. So, this was not my first rodeo. We built a winter home in Mesa, AZ, in mid-century modern style, and ordered 10 Brentwood doors, understanding ETO brands themselves as the largest custom door manufacturer in the US with 40,000 doors in inventory. What was positive about this experience? The doors are an attractive and unique design. To the untrained eye, have drawn compliments. What was negative about this experience? Much. * The initial cost seemed reasonable at $399/door. I ordered, and recommend, ordering the doors with pre-hung frames. Their website states 4-5 weeks plus shipping (LA to Mesa - close). The reality was from the date of wiring full payment to actual delivery of doors to jobsite was 9 weeks, 1 day. We based the project schedule around these doors and frames; their delay essentially stopped sequence of work for three weeks. This delay and issues described below brought the hidden actual cost of each door closer to $1000. * ETO could never get us an accurate delivery schedule, not for want of trying. I personally placed 6 calls and 5 emails to ETO and never received a delivery date. They showed up one day without any notice from ETO or carrier! * The doors arrived damaged. There were numerous scratches through the plastic wrap as well as dark stains on several doors. I sent photos of damage to ETO the next day. ETO recommends sanding their doors with 180-220 grit sandpaper to "remove blemishes". To most everyone, a blemish is something you can see. Our painter did an excellent job in hiding most of this damage. What we could not do was remove marks that were NOT visible until the doors were stained. Over half the door surfaces had swirl marks, not machine made, suggesting the veneer was wiped with solvent or similar material that caused the stain not adhere. How much would you sand the veneer if one cannot even see the problem? I had never encountered a similar issue with any door supplier throughout my career. I filed a complaint with ETO and explained I wasn't looking for a large refund or argument, just some compensation and a response from ETO for its poor manufacturing QC and customer service. Our contractor had no option except to finish and install the doors so we could move into the new house. ETO requested information that was irrelevant to my claim, suggesting I was holding up the process. The head of ETO claims has since refused to respond to my emails and calls. My conclusion is working with ETO doors is HIGH RISK. There is little assurance of consistent quality of product. Their ability to track fabrication and schedule is almost non-existent, requiring considerable effort, frustration, and owner costs. You must factor in additional time into your construction schedule if working with this company. I have chosen to live with what you see in the attached photos. Zoom in to view damage. These guys are not skilled craftsmen they make doors off by up to 3/8" you call out a dimension they make it more or less that size not matching what you called out, then they make a bunch excuses like typically we make it a little less, when you tell them you want it exactly that size. Then the blame you for not reading their invoice which are vague on what their finished dimensions are and make you pay for a redo. Avoid them. I'd give them a zero star if I could read more

The door is now estimated to arrive a month late, with no reason provided. I had a great experience. I'm in Michigan, and I built a house for a family that wanted 10' ceilings. We bought 5 - 8' tall interior, pre-hung, solid core, white oak doors, one 8' tall solid white oak front door with clear light, and 3 solid core, 8' tall pocket doors. All of them came in great shape. The packaging was thoughtful and robust, and the quality of the jams (finger-joined and veneered with white oak) and doors is great. They hung easily (save for the size and weight, but that's mostly physic's fault). I also thought lead-time was reasonable, especially given the unfavorable economic conditions forced upon them by The Taco. I ordered April 21, and I received my BOL July 21. So, three months total. Customer service was great for me. Responsive. Knowledgeable. What more can be asked? I'm waiting for one more, as the client added one to the build after the others had been ordered. If anything changes, I'll update the review. As of now, I would, and likely will, work with them again. Especially since their price is better than the local lumberyards. read more

The process started off feeling almost seamless, but the original 8-10 week lead time ultimately stretched into nearly six months of waiting. During that time, communication was pretty limited, and I often had to reach out myself for updates. With more proactive communication, the experience would have matched the outstanding quality of the final product. I ordered our large front door for our rebuild (ETO Exterior Mahogany Doors). We had an unusual width of requiring 30inch sidelites on both sides but a standard 96inch. Adam happened to be my contact and he patiently helped me build my door order put together. They promised a 6-8 week lead time, and i received the door on 7th week crated and delivered perfectly. I was wary of ordering initially with the reviews, but I am so glad I did. The doors look amazing and my GC was impressed with the size, price & quality. We just assembled and put the door together. ETO definitely provides the best price in entire west coast. They can do better in providing order status updates and delivery notifications.
