Stopped here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The weather was beautiful so we ate on their patio. They were busy, so the staff took a bit to get to our table. This really wasn't an issue because we were enjoying the day. We were brought coffee and water and our cups never went dry. In fact I don't think I have had my coffee refreshed as often anywhere else. I wasn't really too hungry so I ordered their Belgian Waffle. For the price I would have thought it would have been a little more than the waffle you get for free at most hotel continental breakfasts these days. My dining companions both ordered breakfasts as well. The home sausage patty was impressive that was brought as a side to my partner. I was a little taken aback that they brought ketchup and Tabasco sauce to our table only to take it away again after a few minutes because another table needed it. Perhaps they should get enough to cover all their tables. Apart from that, the ambiance and setting was wonderful. This is a nice place with friendly staff. I hope to come back someday to try their lunch and dinner fare. read more

Holy moly!!! This is the first time I have been here and I'm blown away! Was greeted as soon as we walked through the door, immediately got hot and fresh coffee and had the most amazing French toast I've ever had in my life! The place was super clean and the servers seemed to care about the people they were serving. And also, 2 breakfasts and drink only cost $18 and we are both stuffed! I don't think 5 stars is even enough to rate this place! So glad I was told about this hidden gem :) I recommend so highly!!!! read more

Had some business in the area and looking for a good lunch spot. Ended up with the breakfast special - country benny. I love good biscuits & gravy but never order in an unknown spot because its hard to do to my satisfaction. Something told me this place could do gravy. Wow i was right. Great gravy - whole dish super impressive. Country fried steak and eggs on fluffy moist biscuits with outstanding gravy and hash browns. Not health food, of course but if you're looking for authentic down home cooking with good portions and great service this is it. read more

We had lunch on a Sunday morning. The food was delicious when we finally got it (I had to go in and get menus myself), but it took an hour--probably around 15 minutes til we even saw a server. They seemed to be under-staffed. The outdoor seating is very nice; all things considered, we enjoyed the experience, just wish they had been staffed a little better. I gave only a score of 3 because of service, young girl very friendly but wasn't very attentive to customers. she had to be reminded to get orders after people had been sitting waiting for a bit, and I was one of them. Food otherwise was okay I had the cod & fries with a cup of clam chowder. it was good I enjoyed it but not sure overall that I would go back again , can't quite put a finger on why not. Maybe it was when I came into the restaurant it had a smoky haze, not from people smoking but from the cooking. After I left I felt kind of like I smelled as if I had been in the kitchen for hours. read more

I love their food, livng in molalla it's our go to place. Last experience was no good as my wife daughter and I sat there for over 15 minutes unnoticed. My 9 year old daughter had to go grab some menus. Older couple walks in and sits down and before they can even get their coats off the waitress is filling their cups with coffee, still ignoring us. Nope...we are out of here. Now all of a sudden the waitresses notice us , one follows us out and asks why we are leaving, she even says she saw my daughter grab some menus. Taking a leisurely drive home from Oregon Gardens and came in here for lunch. Some of the best clam chowder anywhere.

Had breakfast this morning at Jills Hitchin post. Not going to get too detailed but here it is. Super friendly server. Great simple egg hashbrown and bacon breakfast. Toast was a higher quality bread than I see at most little breakfast joints. Saw some killer looking omelletes come out of the kitchen and was told by another customer she does some great fried oysters. I will definitely go back. Also would like to correct the no alcohol as I see they are serving beer and wine. read more

Mediocre food, out of my first choice on the menu, out of frosting for the cinnamon roll so they doused it in powdered sugar, (yuck). Cramped, noisy restaurant. Waited for over 15 minutes for a coffee refill. Way too expensive considering the lack of quality. read more

If you show up on bike, or if you look different in any way from these "country folk" they will give you a dirty look and refuse to serve you. I'm baffled. I walked in on a day that was 90 degrees outside, I was biking through Oregon, I just needed some water but it smelled good so I was thinking about getting fries and a beer with my friend. The bartender was SO rude to us!!! She treated us like we were bums trying to get something free. I guess she didn't think we intended to buy something ... But definitely changed our minds after her rude behavior and just filled out water in the bathroom and left. I'm not sure who owns this place, but your bartender is a jerk. Even if we didn't intend to buy something, I've never been refused water on a hot day by business owners. You lost our business and I hope you get nicer, less judgmental servers. Most places are happy to help out - as far as filling up a water bottle. I walked in, the bartender was facing her back me talking loudly to her friend "they can't come in here to just fill up their water" ... And I heard her but I stood at the bar to wait to be acknowledged and talk to her like a person, but... She wouldn't acknowledge me. It's not like they were busy. Came in on a Sunday morning about 11:45. Friendly greeting at the counter, was told I could pick my seat anywhere in the restaurant. Very nice. It wasn't packed but about three quarters of the tables were occupied. The server came over with a menu and some water and said she'd be back soon. A minute or so later she came back to see if I had any questions, which I did and she answered them. Placed my order then relaxed to take in the ambiance. It looked just like I remembered it from 30+ years ago when I came in with my grandpa who ate there almost every morning. Homey, country style. Loved it. My mini breakfast came in no time at all and was delicious. They crisped up my bacon to perfection just as I asked for it to be:) Everyone I spoke with who worked there was super friendly and I felt like a regular even though it had been many years since I'd been there. They really started my trip down memory lane off with a bang. I will definitely be back even though I live an hour's drive away. Also, prices are great! read more

I live locally, and decided to ride my motorcycle to work, stopping by the Hitching Post for breakfast, around 9:30am. Not busy, but local regulars filled the long front table. I walk in, silence........ I take a menu, and take a look at it, and decide to have eggs, bacon, well done hash browns, and toast. And a coffee. The waitress looks me up and down as I ask if I may sit outside. Her reply was somewhat confused, but the answer was no, so inside I sat. I had asked her for a cup of coffee and water before I sat down. 10 minutes go by, she's served coffee to all the regulars at the long table, and my cup remains dry. No water either. She finally comes to take my order, and I again ask for coffee and water. Nothing. 10 minutes later, the food arrives, and soggy hash browns, and dry toast. When I ordered, I specifically asked for well done hash browns, and she somewhat rudely pointed to her pad showing me she had wrote "crispy HB". So much for the cooks ability to read, and the waitresses ability to provide good service. About the only positive thing I can say is that the eggs were cooked as I like them, over easy. I'd avoid this place unless you are a regular, an elderly person, or like mediocre food and poor service. I will not be back again. read more

The menu is a lie, they're actually out of most foods listed on it. The restaurant is cramped, the customer service isn't too great either. Don't order sweet potato fries, they don't have them. They don't have a soup of the day, either. If I could rate it negative stars, I would. Definitely do not recommend. read more

What a wonderful find for a small hometown cafe. Open from 5am to 2pm, they serve breakfast and lunch. Everything is cooked to order. Jill, the cook and owner, will bend over backward to serve you whatever you want. There are daily specials for both breakfast and lunch. Fantastic huge omelets, big burgers, fries (even sweet potato fries), chicken fried steaks, regular steaks, homemade soups and biscuits, sausage gravy, sweet potato pancakes and waffles, blintzes, they seem to have it all. A great little restaurant with friendly service!! And priced so a family can go. Definitely a nice restaurant to return to. I will go again and again. read more
