We visited Eureka! for the first time today, and while there were some positives, the overall experience left much to be desired. Cleanliness & Seating: We were seated fairly quickly, which was great. However, our table and seats were noticeably dirty upon arrival. Being placed between two large parties made things worse--on one side, we had a relatively quiet table of adults, but on the other side were several toddlers who were loudly crying, screaming, and throwing food, some of which ended up near us and on the floor. I understand that families dine out too, but it would've been appreciated to be seated in a more balanced area, especially given the size of the restaurant. Staff & Service: The staff was overall pleasant. We were initially greeted and helped by someone other than our server--she was very friendly and took our drink and food orders efficiently. Our actual server was also kind but clearly busy. At one point, she brought us a jug of water that was dirty, but she handled our request for a clean one promptly and without issue. My husband's meal arrived several minutes before mine, but the manager did stop by to apologize for the delay, which I appreciated. It showed they care about their customers' experience. Food & Ambience: The food was the highlight. My husband enjoyed his burger and especially loved the truffle cheese fries. I had the honey sweet potato fries, which were also excellent. Unfortunately, the ambience was very loud and chaotic--not ideal for a relaxed dining experience. Overall: While the food was good and the staff made a genuine effort, the cleanliness, noise level, and seating situation really impacted our visit. I've been eating at this location since at least 2013 if not before. It's a now a classic part of the Packinghouse. When it's sunny outside the patio is the cats meow but if it's raining, pull up a barstool & enjoy the ambience. I've been meaning to give the double smash a try. I've had every other burger that's on the menu(and that has disappeared, too). It turned out to be just the right afternoon for a double smash with cheese paired with an ice cold pint of Pfeiffer. The burger was cooked just right, with pink perfection oozing juices that set my tastebuds on cloud nine. I'm a sucker for the old school but I wasn't disappointed by their gourmet take. Our family has been coming here for years but lately the quality of the food is a hit or miss. Tonight I was craving lettuce wraps so we went out to pick up a late night meal and when I got home I realized the lettuce wasn't edible. First time trying this place based on a co-worker's recommendation. Made a reservation last week cause she said it gets slammed packed on weekends. Glad I did! There is plenty of parking in the structure or if you have patience to find street parking. Walked right in and was seated quickly and it was also packed AF when I got there. For the main, I ordered the Fresno Fig burger w/ honey-cinnamon sweet potato fries. The burger itself, DELICIOUS! Flavor explosion. The Sweet potato fries, major fail! I don't know if they ran out cinnamon, cause all I got was sweet potato fries with a drizzle of honey, not even tossed in honey, not worth the extra $7. All in all Eureka! I came on a Friday night to celebrate a friend's birthday. We waited about 20 mins for a table for 4. It was a very busy night! The ambiance was lively. We didn't make reservations but you can online. We started with Brussels sprouts and then ordered the hot chicken with a Caesar side salad, and a double smash burger with a side salad. We did have one glitch with our order that needed to be addressed, and the manner the staff addressed it only made me happier with the experience. Very gracious and approachable when we discussed with them, and resolved fully to our satisfaction. I only wish I could remember the name of our server and manager to properly thank them for their professionalism. We had the option of eating inside or outside and chose outside because it was a tad less noisy. Inside was hopping. She was very familiar with the menu and shared her personal favorites. She was prompt with our drinks as well as waters for all of us. Their ginger lime soda is non-alcoholic, delicious and refreshing. It comes in a fun little glass like a mocktail. We ordered several appetizers to start. The fried pickles were delicious. The crispy glazed Brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly and had a slight kick to them. Incredible! The best appetizer was the Doritos crusted shishito peppers. WOW! Almost like a very mild yet flavorful jalapeño popper. Amazing! I splurged and ordered the Fresno Fig. Was gonna get a salad but Ashley said they're known for their burgers, so I figured I had to get one. I have to say, it's always nice when you order a burger medium and it actually is prepared correctly. Presentation was beautiful and the flavor was insane. So good! To finish the meal, we ordered the Bourbon Barrel Cake, which almost reminded me of a bread pudding (it was delicious) and the Chocolate Cake with WhistlePig Bourbon maple whipped cream. It saddens me to write this updated review, but after coming here regularly since 2012, the food quality has unfortunately gone downhill. My last two visits have been disappointing. The burgers have gotten smaller and drier, and it feels like they barely add any sauce anymore. The fry portions are minimal. The kids' menu is honestly terrible, what used to be meaty chicken tenders are now ultra-processed nuggets they call "chicken bites," which makes you question whether it's even real meat. Eureka! never misses every time I stop by! This spot is serving up some awesome elevated American classics. This location is at the Claremont Packing House in Downtown Claremont. There is street parking all around or also garage parking as well. Inside, they have a lively and classy setup with a good amount of seating. Wifey and I stopped by for a late dinner around 10pm and were seated right away. We ended up getting the Fresno Fig Burger and the Double Smash Burger. Both burgers were delicious and definitely tasted more gourmet and elevated compared to your average diner burger. Overall, this spot has been a go to date night spot for us regardless of which city we are in. Most of their locations are typically open til pretty late and this one is open til midnight! Upon entry, we were greeted right away which is always nice. They have inside and outside seating. Ambiance is very nice. Great place to bring a date. We chose inside seating. We were first given a single table, but I knew we needed two single tables because I was going to order lots LOL. Our wonderful server combined two tables for us. Thank you Sam! I've only been to Eureka! Redlands prior to here. I knew which appetizers to get... crispy glazed brussel sprouts and honey-cinnamon sweet potato fries are a must. As for main dish, I went with the spicy crispy chicken sandwich + arugala salad and Eureka! burger substitute grilled chicken + fries (latter item is just $12 from hoppy hour 3pm - 6pm... what a yummy deal!). Yes, I got two dishes LOL. My daughter got fish + chips... fish was mahi mahi and chips were smashed potatoes... they're not mashed just fried potatoes chunks. I also tried their lavender iced tea. This was a nice place to go to. It was similar to a small burger joint although it can be considered a big chain and comparable to TGI Fridays or Yard House. The BBQ bacon was delicious, portion size was just right, although can be pretty expensive. But other than that, the food was pretty good, fries were pretty crunchy and the medium rare burger was right, at least this time. Like the design of the place, it was the old rustic feel with incandescent bulbs and exposed ceiling joists and such. The only thing I didn't like was the table we sat at seemed a little too close together since the servers running around so quickly generating so much wind and can brush up to you from time to time. I mean fast service is nice, but it just was a lot of gusty winds generated from humans moving around, it was funny.
