We were seated rather quickly which was nice. It was just so cold it was hard to enjoy myself. 20min after we got there someone offered to turn on a heater that was behind me, and I said yes please. I kinda wish they offered that in the beginning. I would have asked but I didn't realize it was a heater. We got our drinks pretty quick. We could only order one at a time so we had to wait again. As we were paying and getting ready to leave a waitress comes and tell us we only ordered drinks and that we actually have to order food too. No one mentioned this to us at all. So we ordered fries to go since we were pretty much done. Would have been better to inform us of that in the beginning while we keep ordering drinks and then I would have ate the fries while drinking. Went to this restaurant as an afterthought - a quick lunch stop between the CA Botanical Garden at Claremont College and a local Ceramics Museum. It turned out to be just great! Very helpful service, gluten free options and the most delicious Fresno Fig burger with fig marmalade and goat cheese - really tasty plus excellent fries. We sat outdoors on a covered patio and really enjoyed the experience. I don't get out there that often, but I would definitely come back. read more

Came here for happy hour and it was pretty good! The happy hour prices are very reasonable. The truffle fries were probably my favorite dish and it was well served too. I'm usually not a big fan of brussel sprouts, but the ones served here had a wonderful sauce. The atmosphere is very relaxed, unfortunately we sat inside (which was cramped) because it was raining, but it looks like they have a nice patio area. Per request we came back to this location. This time I had the bone marrow burger and my friend had the chicken tenders. We both enjoyed our food. The servers didn't take as much time as last time to attend us which was great. Since we got food in a more timely manner we decided to try the bourbon barrel cake it does not compare to the barnfire brownie but it was good. This review is for their take-out service. I normally don't have any complaints for dine-in, however, for their take-out service, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. We ordered 10 meals and about 5 appetizers They gave us 4 ketchup packets for our entire order. I had asked the server for ketchup and she had told me that she had already put some in our bag. I get home and unpack everything to find FOUR ketchup packets. Sure, let's cut the packets in half and have 8 people share them and 2 people be out of ketchup, given that all the meals came with fries. Good thing we had ketchup at home. I get there and they tell me that they are still working on my order. I assume that once it was ready that they would bring it to me. Well 20 min later someone asked for my order name and then informs me that my order is ready. It had been sitting on the shelves for a while. Sure, let my food get cold. Then, they were out of sweet potato fries. They never bothered to tell me that they would refund me the charge. I had to tell them. Also, when I got there I got behind the person in front of me. Then after they were helped the hostess was about to skip me. Staff definitely needs more training. The blackened fish tacos is one of those gems that shouldn't be passed up. A pair of corn tortillas with mango salsa and avocado tomatillo on top of white sautéed fish that had my mouth humming.The bone marrow burger was another mouthful of goodness. This little bad boy had horseradish aioli with bone marrow shiitake butter slathered on a meat patty.Oh my,talk about a mouthgasm.And to cap off this duo of tasteful bliss I had their double barrel cake that had my sweet tooth on high alert. This was a great bar food experience with the service to complete it. They also have a copious amount of craft brews to wet your whistle and the happy hour that starts at six o'clock daily. Been wanting to try Eureka for some time now and Sunday was finally the day! My husband, myself & our pup, Olive, arrived around 3pm to find a crowded patio dining area and were a bit nervous to see what the wait time was. Surprisingly, we were able to be seated right away. It was a chilly day and we loved that the patio had heaters. Another thing to love is that there are water dishes and treats freely provided for the fur-babes. Our waiter, Mark, came to greet us and was friendly and helpful. For drinks, I ordered a Shirley Temple (delicious) and the hubby ordered the Lavender Ice Tea, which was beautifully presented, but the taste of lavender was extremely and unpleasantly overwhelming to both the hubby and I. Mark was kind enough to substitute it for a regular ice tea, though. For food, we ordered the glazed brussel sprouts (excellent), truffle fries (also excellent), Fresno fig burger and the fried chicken sliders. Holy cow! That Fresno fig burger was DELICIOUS. Soft and sweet and the greens were some of the freshest tasting I've had to date. The hubby said his chicken sliders were very good too- crunchy and kicking! I have dined here countless times with family and friends... even during the pandemic while they do their 'best' to maintain social distancing and follow CDC guidelines. HOWEVER, today was the worst experience I've had and I am contemplating never returning here again to this location. First off, we were told we had to wait 30 minutes for a table because they are following CDC guidelines and sitting every other table but when we were finally sat there was a party on both sides of us. Aside from that, their virtual menu is a piece of sh*t. You have to order off your phone, food, drinks (water included), and pay from your phone. You even have to request a refill for your drink through this system. They brought us out stained cups that had a lipstick mark and fingerprints all over. YUCK! So much for following the CDC. Try plastic cups !! They then mixed up our food for our table with another party and gave us our appetizers after our food was already served at our table. My burger I ordered well done came out insanely pink! I had to eat my burger while my friends were finished. We finally were ready to leave after all that crap and literally had to wait 25 minutes for our check. Idk if they were upset/being rude because it seemed they were attentive to others? Ugh, I try to be understanding during this pandemic mess but this was just 100% ridiculous. I even contemplated getting up and leaving after I spoke with the manager and I wish I did. It just feels that the servers just aren't all that efficient, it must be the workflow or the layout of the restaurant. Our server had tables on the inside (left of the door), skipped the middle section, and also on the outside (right across the restaurant on the patio). Another server did stop by our table to see if everything was okay, but when he went to ask the table next to us, he didn't wait for anyone to respond. One of the patrons at the next table wanted to order another drink, but the server was long gone. Our water glasses were also empty before we were 3/4 done with our meal. Maybe it's my taste buds but I enjoy the Fresno Fig Burger over the Bone Marrow Burger (my usual go to), due to the complexity of all the ingredients together. Delicious, bite after bite, until it's all gone. They do use quality ingredients and the sweet potato fries aren't just regular sweet potato fries. They drizzle a mixture of honey and maple syrup, and it seems that they also sprinkle a bit of cinnamon as well. For the price that one pays for the food, we hoped to get better service but I guess one is just paying for the quality food, not the service. Does not seem to go hand-in-hand. Portions are a bit small, but they do have Happy Hour every day, from 2-6 pm, so one could always add on a starter or a side dish. (First time we sat outside and last visit inside). The decor is kinda modernized industry meets rustic. Casual setting.... you wouldn't feel awkward wearing shorts or jeans and a T-shirt not overdressed if you were wearing slacks or a dress! I like it! Service is outstanding (both times) and wait staff is extremely friendly and personable! I wish I could remember their names to give them kudos! I ordered the Seared Shrimp Salad both times because it was so darn delicious! It's a 10!!! My daughter ordered a veggie hamburger of some sort both times as well because of the same reason! I've had this place bookmarked for a while, but today I finally got to try out Eureka. We split the Jalapeño Egg burger, it was a decent burger, but the chipotle sauce on it wasn't great. It almost tasted sweet. The jalapeño was really good on the burger though. The fries were really crispy and pretty taste, however a tad too salty. However, the real winner was the Mac and Cheese balls. They were crispy, cheesy, and delicious. They had a slight flavor of heat to them, and I'm pretty sure I saw red peppers inside a couple bites. The burger contained goat cheese, which I am not a big fan of, so on my second visit here, I got the Fresno burger with monterey jack cheese instead and let me tell you... the goat cheese definitely complimented the fig more. SOO don't substitute the goat cheese !! The burger patty itself is pretty thick and juicy. I've ordered medium but my burger came out almost well done. But nonetheless, it wasn't dry.
