11/2/24 Saw the line out the door & didn't even blink... nope, NOT today
    Jennifer W.

8/12/26 Let's skip to the part saying it's just like Souplantation.... w/o the Souplantation prices & coupons. I do miss it though coz it was our usual go to when we lived in Lakewood & it was a mere 5 minute walk from my parents' house. We clipped coupons to take advantage of the deals. This location & the one in Chino Hills is still quite a drive for most folks. I finally took advantage today. The outdoor looks lovely with yellow-green paint/trim, very refreshing ambiance. Indoors is modern & well spaced, a few live & non living foliage. There are table with chairs and some booths. It can accommodate a large group. It was a random Wednesday at a few minutes past 4 pm and there was NO LINE, no waiting. As per usual, at the entrance, there's a signage that gives you direction. #1. Get your tray & plates, #2 move along, there are 2 sides with the same set up, fill up your plates with salads, condiments, dressings, toppings etc. #3 pay, order drinks #4 find a table/seating. Then if you like, after putting your salads down, go back & get soup, muffins, pizzas, potatoes &/or bread. The beverage counter has Pepsi products (ugh), water, coffee, tea, hot water, lemonade. 2% milk(dispenser). The dessert counter has fruits, pudding, raspberry yogurt, arroz con leche, jello, soft serve (chocolate sauce, sprinkles, ice cream cones). Don't forget the blueberry and chocolate muffins and cornbread, muffins, focaccia and cheese, pizza, baked sweet potato and baked potato. You can dress up your potatoes with some sour cream, chopped onions, bacon, bits, that is located where the soups are (the butter is next to the muffins). The staff are diligent, friendly and constantly attending to patrons, polite and helpful. They help clear plates from the tables once customers are done. At the women's restroom, there are 2 stalls, one of which is handicap accessible. Parking is free but is shared among businesses at this plaza. Will definitely return when craving that trip down memory lane & the flavors and selection that we have come to know-/ that wonderful sense of familiarity. Price-wise, it was a senior discount, dinner $17.99/person. Still not a bad deal for unlimited foods. Dining time, though is limited to 2 hours. I'm so glad we waited for the hype to slow down (and NOT wait an hour to be let in).

I used to love Souplantation back in the day. So when Soup n Fresh opened I was super excited. I am just now visiting because every time I would drive by the lines would be long and I did not want to stand in them. I went on a Friday night at 6 PM to my surprise. there was no line. The inside of the restaurant and the food is just as I remembered. I really enjoyed my solo date that night and it brought back so many memories of all the good times that I had there in the past. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very nice and attentive.

I don't live near this area (San Bernardino County), so that's where my 3 stars come from since I don't have any reason to go out of my way to come back. For $17.99 lunch, I tried a little bit of everything! I liked the salad bar, mac & cheese, soups, and baked sweet potato the most. Again, nothing amazing, but definitely felt nostalgic and maybe it'd be different if I lived near one. Also, there wasn't a line outside when I came in on a Monday a little after opening, but I heard it gets busier on weekends.

Been wanting to go to this place for a while. Especially since this business model took a huge hit from the pandemic. If you're not familiar, this place has a very comparable model if not identical to Souplantation. Typically, from what I've seen or heard, there's usually a line. But I came here a little on the later side in the evening, so I was able to pretty much walk right in. The vibe was chill because it wasn't crazy busy when I went. If you're familiar, you start walking through the salad bar and pay once you get to the front - presumably after you made your initial salad. Once you get past the front, you find a table and you can go back and get some items from the hot food areas. There's of course also the soda machines and the dessert bars. Typically, I'm not a big fan of the buffet model, but honestly since this place is reasonably priced. So I look at it from a point of view where I pay a certain fee and get a good selection of fresh produce to make a salad with some hot items lol. The people are friendly and my overall meal experience was very enjoyable. I can't complain.

AGHHH!! It's glorious. It's everything you remember it to be and more. I swear somehow the chicken soup is even better now. Don't tell anyone, but if you shell out a little bit for a fountain drink, you can make a root beer float with the soft serve ice cream. Yes, you heard that right. The baked potatoes, the salad, the soups, the desserts, I could cry. Service was amazing esp considering how busy they were. The inside is perfection and exactly how it should be. Plenty of tables and good vibes. It's worth the drive or checking out if you're in the area. Also unreal value.

Finally made the trip, and it was absolutely worth it! We've missed Souplantation for years and had been wanting to try Soup 'n Fresh ever since we heard about it. The moment we walked in, all the memories came rushing back. Even though the name has changed, the fresh salad bar, delicious soups, the smell of freshly baked bread, baked potatoes, and sweet potatoes all felt just as comforting as we remembered. Our favorites were the variety of fresh salad selections, the chicken noodle soup, and the clam chowder. The bright, spacious dining room and relaxed atmosphere made the experience even better. It's a bit of a drive for us, but we'll gladly keep coming back whenever we're craving salads and soups, yum yum.

Basically a soup plantation. I was obsessed with soup plantation, so driving to Rancho Cucamonga to try this place was a must. It was exactly like Soup Plantation, from the salads to the breads and small pizzas and the soups; it all was the same and even tasted the same. The same concept, the same buffet style. Wow, it brought back memories. Since this is the only one of this kind remaining in California, this place gets packed. I waited about 30 mins to get in; there's a line that is crazy long, but the line does move quick. The main difference here is that the restaurant itself is way too clean. Soup Plantation was not always the cleanest, but here you can tell they put care into the place. I ate my salad and breads like a child trying pizza for the first time. I savored every bite because I don't know when I will return again because it is far, but damn, it was worth it. Worth the wait and worth the food. Lunch is about 15 bucks, while dinner is about 20 dollars. Not bad to be honest. Can't wait to drive back.

Came here for my sister's birthday. Honestly this place triggered my nostalgia more than anything else. The food is great, the chicken noodle soup hits just as much as I remember it from my childhood. Prices are more than fair, $17.99 for adults for lunch for all you can eat. I'm glad a business like this can be brought back after Souplantation went bankrupt. Even the interior reminds me of the old Souplantations I grew up with. Service is minimal and efficient, rightly so for a self service buffet. Whether you came to Souplantation in the past or are a new customer looking for a healthy-ish buffet, I recommend Soup'n Fresh! Note that this location accepts reservations for large groups which is recommended to avoid waiting in lines outside. The other locations may not accept reservations

    Miserably uncomfortable chairs

Came back again and they have huge lines and an hour wait still, but they are more organized in that they only let small groups in at a time so it's no longer crowded on the inside. All the salad ingredients and the soups are delicious and fresh. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is due to the miserably uncomfortable metal chairs with zero back support.

Salad, Broccoli Cheese Soup, Baked potato, pasta and a few pizza slices.

Stopped in for lunch today with my wife. I hear there's usually lines, but must have beat the crowd. Started down the salad bar line. Everything was VERY fresh! Great selection and everything was very clean. Was greeted by the cashier, who was very nice. Paid and found a booth. I visited the soup area, which had a great selection of soups, and three types of pasta. Everything looked good. The bakery section had some muffin choices, breads, pizza, and baked potatoes. Prices were reasonable and sr ice was great! We will be back.

Felt nostalgic eating here. The layout, food, and decor really brought me back to Souplantation. I would say the only difference I noticed were the cornbread and chicken noodle soup

I've been wanting to try this out for the nostalgia of Souplantation and was especially excited for the cornbread and whipped honey butter that I used to really like. Setup and menu items are pretty much identical. You have your long salad bar to start, then a soup section, the baked goods area, and the middle with your random assortment of fruits, ice cream, drinks, etc. Salad options were as good as I remembered them to be. I think they might've changed the noodles in the chicken noodle soup, as well as the potatoes in the clam chowder because I don't remember them tasting that way but it's also been a really long time. Tasted pretty standard though. Was honestly disappointed in the baked goods items though. Cornbread and whipped honey butter did not hit the same and was pretty dry/bland, as with the brownies and blueberry muffins. The cheese bread was the best baked item for me. Ice cream was definitely nostalgic. Overall, a fair experience for the nostalgia. Didn't hit quite like it used to but may come back later at some point to try again. Our used dishes on the table were taken away very quickly, so we never had much clutter on our table.

Ask the Community - Soup 'n Fresh

    Are they Coke or Pepsi?

    I believe Pepsi products

Do they allow solo dining? I know a lot of buffet-style places don't allow it.

    Yes! They are super chill.

Do they take tap and pay?

    Yes

Can they accommodate a party of 18?

They probably can but they are usually very busy that it would be hard to get 18 seats together. I would call them first to verify!

Is there still a massive line on the weekends?

    YES!! 2o minute wait average

    Price for seniors?

$15.99 for Lunch, $17.99 for Dinner

When is the best time to dine in terms of less wait time?

    2PM on a weekday

What is time limit for person?

    Two hours

What is the wait for today?

I've been here 3 times in the last 4 months. Each time I didn't have to wait at all.

What age for the Senior Discount price?

They don't check IDs or anything, so it's not really that important. I would say 65 definitely qualifies, possibly 62, since you can start collecting Social Security at that age. Probably not down to AARP membership minimums.

    Do they have gluten-free options?

No. This is the exact same set-up as Souplantation was, so you'll likely have to avoid any of the baked goods (pizza, cakes, etc.)...but you can build-your-own salad and have some soups. They're not labelled as "GF" so you'll have to read the…

What time do people start lining up on sunday mornings?

Well before the restaurant is open... I remember waiting 20 minutes prior to opening, and there was already a line.

What is the current cost per person? Is drink included?

$16.99 Adult lunch, $18.99 Adult dinner. Soft drinks cost $3.29 extra

Is the food at this restaurant friendly to people with nut allergies?

Probably not! Since I notice nuts on a list of a lot of stuff from salads, soups to desert. Sorry

I noticed the website has a Reservation tab? Has anyone used it? Would be driving up from San Diego.

There is no reservation option. If you go I recommend, weekdays.and go during non typical eatting times. If you go on the weekend during prime hours there will be a line out the door to the street

Is a drink included with the buffet price? What age do you have to be for the senior discount? Do they have besides Pepsi products the strawberry lemonade, etc? Thanks.

Drinks are not included, 55 and wiser is the senior age for the discount. Don't know about Pepsi since our family does not drink sodas but they do have stew berry lemonade.…

Do they have a to go option?

Does Motley Crue have a good singer? The answer to both is no

Where can get a coupon for this restaurant?

I honestly don't think you need coupon since the price is already decent in this economy. This is not Souplantation.

What's the busiest peak? i'm pregnant and cannot be standing in this heat for 2 hours😩

Go on a weekday and the wait should be shorter.

Is it AYCE or is it only one plate per person?

    AYCE!

When it came time to go pick up my order, the parking lot was kind of busy, but manageable. The place was actually really busy and they were handing out orders in a timely matter. There's dining in options inside--and outside with cute little umbrella tables and chairs. I was greeted upon entering and gave them my name for pickup. They were still finishing my order so I waited briefly. Their menu is pretty extensive and they have a lot of drink and chip options. I ordered the Roasted Garlic Steak Chop which had romaine, garlic steak, celery, fresh beets, tomato, pickled onions and seasoned croutons. I also added feta crumbles. The recommended dressing was blue cheese, but I went with the lemon vinaigrette. LOVE the packaging of everything. It was a decent sized salad too! Everything was so fresh and wonderful! I can't believe I waited this long to try this place, but I will definitely be back!
