Always a good place for a good meal with reasonable prices, service is top notch and everyone checks on you, we went on a Monday. Wasn't that busy and pretty chilled environment. I always recommend Lazy Dog toe everyone.

I try not to frequent smaller more locally owned businesses, but Lazy Dog is open later than most restaurants. After 9pm options are limited. So off we go to Lazy Dog to celebrate my daughter's concert. First off our waiter was absolutely wonderful. When our French dip puff pastry appetizers showed up Cold, he brought us new ones promptly and took them off the bill. But that really ruins the illusion that they're actually making the food back there, as opposed to just heating from frozen. Then I ordered the Cuban sandwich. My bad. I should have known better. The bread was all wrong. I will not elaborate. My daughter really liked her fettucini Alfredo. It's not Eddie's, but far better than Applebees or Olive Garden. Good beer selection.

Came to Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar hungry and left happy, full, and slightly considering a second round of bacon! Jk lol well kinda not kidding lol!!!! Some nights just call for serious comfort food, and Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar understood the assignment! First mistake of the night: agreeing to "share" the candied bacon. Thick cut, crispy, sweet, spicy... basically bacon candy. I blinked and it was almost gone. lol Then came the pot roast, fall-apart tender, swimming in rich gravy, sitting on a cloud of mashed potatoes with carrots on top. This dish felt like a warm hug after a long day. It was freezing in there but comfort food and full tummy warmed up my soul! Haha! The bison meatloaf also deserves a standing ovation! Hearty, flavorful, and the kind of plate that makes you loosen your belt and say, "totally worth it." (This also had wrapped bacon) nomnomnom Add a smooth berry martini, cozy lodge vibes, and a lively crowd and you've got a solid family night out. We had never been to this location and before hitting the night at bullwinkles down the street we stopped by here to eat and are already planning our next time we come back!!! Pro tip: Order the bacon. Don't share the bacon. Trust me on the bacon. $5 get two... trust!

Stopped by on Saturday, 03/07/26 with my parents for lunch. We were seated upon arrival, however there was a waiting line shortly after! We ordered the following: - 1 Pie Tin Nachos (Carnitas) = $17.50 - 1 Loco Moco Fried Rice (Lunch) = $15.95 - 1 Kung Pao Bowl (Lunch) = $14.95- 1 - 1 Chile Ahi Tuna Bowl = $19.75 SUBTOTAL = $68.15 WELCOME BACK PROMO = (-$17.50) / Free appetizer HOLIDAY PROMO E-GIFT CARD = (-$10) HOLIDAY PROMO E-GIFT CARD = (-$10) COMPLIMENTARY SERVICE = (-$10) DISCOUNTED SUBTOTAL = $20.65 TAX = $1.86 TOTAL = $22.51 Paid the total via gift cards (I now only have $0.25 left!). Also gave $10 cash tip to our server. The wait time for our meals took too long, I had to ask our server and she mentioned that there is a back log and apologized for the wait. Our server also asked us about how's everything so far and we mentioned that we were just waiting for our main meals, I think there was a miscommunication as she thought we wanted to eat our appetizer first. I ordered the Ahi Tuna bowl which was delicious! I totally forgot to ask for brown rice instead of white rice. Oh well.

Went to Lazy Dog on the busiest day of the year with our puppy...not the smartest idea. With dogs everywhere, he is still not trained enough to go without barking, which was a bit stressful. Food was ok, but service was great. The bowl of chicken for dogs looked delicious and our pup loved it.

The burger itself was pretty underwhelming and just not worth $24 in my opinion. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't anything special or memorable. Pretty bland. That said, the drinks were good.. the sangrias were solid, and the Moscow Mule was too. The environment honestly gets most of the credit here. The space is huge, the lighting is dim and cozy, there's a ton of seating, and the bar area is really nice. The vibe is cool. Service was fine; nothing negative, just standard. The manager was very nice, though. He checked up on the tables during downtime, which was nice of him. Overall, I'd recommend coming during happy hour (weekdays 3-6pm) for drinks and smaller appetizers. The burgers didn't quite justify the price for me, but the atmosphere and drinks still make it worth checking out.

We took advantage of a gift card and were looking forward to the "classic" Hush Puppies. We arrived around 11:30 for lunch and were seated in about 10 minutes. After viewing the menu, we discovered the "classic" hush puppies were no where to be found. In addition, our server confirmed they were no longer on menu...bummer. We ordered two lunch specials; turkey sandwich with tortilla soup and the shrimp tacos. The turkey sandwich was a turkey sandwich, and soup was tasty, but the broth was thinner than expected. The shrimp tacos were good, and the rice and beans were average. I also ordered a $5 side chopped wedge salad, which I enjoyed. Regarding the service, our server was very good. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was very good; however the men's restroom needed some attention. Overall, this was a classic Lazy Dog experience, and we will return when they bring back the "classic" hush puppies!

I went to Lazy Dog with a friend for dinner and we both ordered burgers and fries. I had the All American Cheeseburger and she had one with blue cheese -- she loved hers! I ordered my burger well done and it was very good, but next time I'll probably go medium well just to get a little more flavor. The fries were good too -- not all-you-can-eat (lol), but honestly the portion was perfect and kept me from overeating. I also liked that they offer different sauces for your burger. I kept it simple with mustard and a little ketchup, but it's nice to have options. It wasn't crowded at all for a weeknight, which made the experience even better. Our waitress was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, really good food, relaxed atmosphere, and great service. I'll definitely be going back.

I don't usually review chain restaurants, but this one was exceptionally good, that I decided to add a review. It is a really large restaurant with a lovely outdoor patio that is primarily covered -- there is a center fire pit area that is open, but understandable. Met up with my friend who has a very large dog, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Provided water and ordered from the doggie menu for the pooch. Sorry I did not post and food photos, but we had the chicken teriyaki bowl, tomato soup with grilled cheese, and bacon ranch burger with fries -- all items were excellent! Staff were top notch! We will be back and I'll post photos next time!

Chicken quesadilla, Side Onion Rings, Brussels Sprouts, and Tikka Masala Meatballs
    Tri D.

Came during happy hour and received all these food for about 35 dollars after tax and tip! Service was attentive and ambiance was relaxing. Perfect temperature control on a hot day and the food was the best. The tiki masala sauce ended up being our favorite and we dipped the queso, onion rings, and brussel sprout into it! The onion ring fried method was probably one of my favorite where it was soft and crispy! Would recommend introducing the tiki masala sauce as a sauce variant for queso and any of the food!

Lazy Dog in Montclair ended up being one of those experiences where you can see the potential, but a few small things definitely shaped the visit. The ambience itself is comfortable with that warm cabin-meets-busy-restaurant vibe they're known for, and the place was packed enough to feel lively without feeling chaotic. We were seated right by the kitchen, which made it a little loud and brought a wave of that kitchen heat every time the doors swung open, but the energy in the room was still upbeat and friendly. You can tell people come here to hang out and relax, so the overall environment felt good even with the extra noise. The food was honestly a mixed bag. We started with the deviled eggs and the biggest surprise was that they came out warm. Not inedible, but that first bite definitely threw us off because it's one of those appetizers you expect to be chilled and refreshing. We didn't complain since it wasn't terrible, just unexpected. The burger was around a six out of ten, nothing memorable but not bad either. The pot pie was the best thing at the table and probably the only item we all agreed was worth coming back for. The drinks were the real disappointment. The mocktail tasted off and the lemonade refresher just wasn't enjoyable, which made the meal feel a little incomplete since the drinks usually elevate the whole experience. Our server was trying her absolute best, and you could tell she was being pushed hard because she was literally sweating and moving like she was running a marathon. I genuinely felt bad for her because none of the issues were her fault, and she still managed to stay polite and attentive even though she was clearly overworked. She was the highlight in terms of service, but the restaurant atmosphere made it feel like she didn't have much support behind her. Prices were fair and nothing felt overpriced for what you get, but I don't think Lazy Dog is a place I'd naturally gravitate toward unless someone specifically wanted to try it. I only came because my friend had never been and I figured it was a safe choice, but overall it felt more like a solid four-star experience without anything that truly stood out. I'd go again if a group wanted to, but it's not something I'd personally seek out on my own.

Butter cake served warm! Soooo good!

I wish Five plus was an option! Since its not, I'll have to also rate on Google! Andrew welcomed us back with parmesan garlic chips and they were YUMMY! We started with Hush Puppies, Buffalo Chicken Nuggets and Fries. The hush puppies were absolutely delicious! Our meals were New York Steak, Cowboy Ribeye Hamburger and Salmon over brown rice. It was all so delicious . We had the butter cake for dessert and it was freaking amazing! Now for the reason for this five star. The service. Our server Andrew was incredibly helpful, friendly, fast and super courteous! Congratulations to management for having such an incredible employee! We will definitely be back...that cake tho..

Mon - Fri, 3pm-6pm You might want to call your location for weekend happy hour times!

Yes, there is a kids menu with some decent variety.

    TV dinners info?

Check their website. It is a generous amount of food. I liked the grilled chicken and lemon sauce especially. But if you wait for the cake to cook your entree will be overcooked and hammered.

We came on a weekend and it was super busy (as it should be honestly with how amazing the food and service are). We got the blackened salmon with penne pasta and baby potatoes, and the flat iron steak with bow tie pasta and herb brown rice. The steak was cooked perfectly medium. The bow tie pasta is served cold and has a vinegary flavor to it, definitely a distinct taste, but I personally loved it because I enjoy sour/vinegary flavors. I can see why it might not be everyone's favorite though, but I personally really enjoyed it. The salmon was also super flavorful and cooked perfectly. Same with the penne pasta and potatoes. Honestly everything was just made really well and good. For the sauce, we got their popular jalapeno garlic sauce and it paired well with absolutely everything. Needless to say, this place was really good from head to toe. I also got to meet the owner and he was super friendly too. I seriously wish they would open one closer to my area. Parking was really easy and the ambience was lively with sports playing all around the bar and plenty of seating.

The portions are generous, especially the sides, which are much larger than expected. I've only been there twice so far, but both visits were positive. The blackened chicken is really good, and the jalapeño garlic sauce is a standout--it adds a lot of flavor without overpowering the meal. Overall, it's a solid option when you're looking for a healthier meal with generous portions. Four stars because there's still more of the menu I'd like to try, but I've enjoyed everything I've had so far.

The style, decor, music and ambiance was warm and inviting. The service was excellent, everyone was nice, friendly and worked well as a unit. Let's get to the food... I'll start by saying yes, yes and yes. From the appetizers to the desert.. spot on! To start we had cocktails. My wife had the Bayou Berry Smash, and I went with the Pecan Hips Old Fashion. The bartender did his thing on those cocktails. For the appetizer we chose Craw Fish Pies. The crust was buttery and flaky. There was just enough filling to get some in every bite. For the main courses, she chose the Sautéed Quater Catfish. She substituted the sauteed catfish for fried. The fish is served over a satuee of shrimp, crab, creole rice and ratatouille. It was exceptional! It was a big portion, but she ate every bit of it. Literally, no notes. I ordered the Crawfish St. Charles. A whole perfectly fried catfish filet on a bed of etouffée. The plating was beautiful and creative. There was a crawfish peeking through the curled end of the filet, which was fried to perfection. It was succulent, hot, crunchy, and juicy. That d!%# crawfish etouffée had me looking for a granny to walk out of the kitchen. It was sooo good, the perfect amount of spice and herbs, balanced with the gravy and crawfish and was perfect. We also ordered a side of red beans and rice. I had to try it, and it didn't disappoint. Once again they knocked it out of the park. The spice level, the texture of the beans and that smokey sausage hit the mark. To finish ourselves off we had the Croissant Beignets. All I can say is little pillows of heaven! We will most definitely pay them another visit. Pro Tip.. make sure you order the sausage with your red beans and Rice, the order doesn't come with it.

They've got indoor and outdoor seating and they seemed a touch understaffed for being a beautiful day. It was also a Tuesday lunchtime so maybe they weren't expecting it to be as busy as it was. We were able to prove the menu before we got seated. And our super friendly server came out and we were able to order right away. They've got a lunch special. That is a small personal pizza with a salad and we each got that. Salads came out first and I had the arugula salad, which was absolutely phenomenal. 10 of 10 would eat this every single day. The arugula was peppery and it was well dressed in a lemon vinaigrette type sauce. I am a fan of just plain lemon on mine, but this was delicious. My husband got a union salad, which is their specialty I guess. It's got colored carrots and some beets and some shallots. I thought the dressing was bland and it certainly needed salt and pepper. We asked for both and didn't get either. Our pieces came out and they were nice and woodfired. I feel like they could've been done just a little bit longer maybe a minute or two. The sauce was a lovely fresh type crushed tomato sauce. The cheese was nice and gooey and did not feel or taste like a package of processed cheese. Pepperonis were greasy, but in a real meat kind of way. I had to dab mine, but my husband just went to town on his. The pickled peppers is a pickled jalapeño. Big chunks of them. They certainly didn't skimp on any of the toppings. They were a little sweet and a little hot. Some of the big chunks were a little too sweet for my liking but overall, it was a nice flavor mix Also from a size standpoint, I thought the salad and pizza were very adequate for lunch at around $20 price point I asked for salt and pepper again as well as a side of ranch. This time we did get the salt and pepper as well as cheese and crushed red pepper. But we didn't get the ranch until we were leaving. The server did apologize and said he thought someone else was bringing it out but I pretty much deducted a star because we asked for a couple different things that never came. Overall, the service was super friendly, the ambience was nice for an outdoor lunch thought. I thought the menu looked delicious and there were several things I would like to come back and try and I would go back again.

It was so underwhelming. 2 eggs cooked differently, one over hard, one over easy, 5-6 potato pieces and the steak was thin, overcooked, and appeared to be a cheap cut of meat. A New York cut would have been great. Wife mentioned norms has better steak and eggs. Called and spoke with a manager Stephanie, not looking for anything, but to express disappointment in the meal for the high price. She offered to mail a gift card for us and invited us back. Took all of my information and never received it. Thanks anyway. Don't think we'll be back.
