Salad which was just a basic salad with a few toppings (honestly could have easily made at home). I got it topped with chicken which was cold. The salad itself was $10 and adding the chicken cost another $10..... at this cost I was expecting to get an entire chicken breast but only got a few strips. We came around noon on a Wednesday and there were a few other tables but wow was the service bad, took a while to get out our food (we all got salads / cold items). On Friday October 18, I went to eat here for the first time due to all the good reviews I had heard from this restaurant. In all honesty, I wasn't satisfied with neither the service nor the food. The waiter came to our table like twice and that was it. It wasn't even busy because we came around 2pm. My total came out to $95 since I went with my family. Super expensive for mediocre food. Also, I paid my bill through scanning the QR code on the receipt, and I left no tip because I simply wasn't satisfied and there is NO sign that says "if you don't tip, you can't eat". BUT, they took out $16 tip WITHOUT MY CONSENT! I tried calling and the manager told me that her boss would give me a call and they never called me. And now, whenever I try calling their phone is disconnected! Luckily I have pictures of proof that I DID NOT leave $16 tip. This place is a joke! read more

Hubby and I are always looking for new places to eat that offer something a little different and tasty. Well Eureka did just that! We live 2 cities away from where this place is located but it's totally worth the drive. Food was AMAZING! Started with the Brussel sprouts for an appetizer. Holy moly! Never had Brussel sprouts so good. Highly recommend. I had the Fresno fig burger. Fig marmalade and goat cheese on a burger? Who knew? Been craving to go back for another already. Hubby had the pastrami sandwhich. Now this guy is hard to please and always offers up a bite to taste but not this time. He ate the whole thing and offered me nothing. Rude but that meant he loved it. LOL Now one thing to know is Eureka is located in Redlands near the college so yep, the drink menu is larger than the food menu and if you're wanting to try this place too, I suggest a weekday afternoon, or you'll be surrounded by the younger crowd. Ordered online a Fresno Fig Burger that came with NO fig yam, no arugula, no tomato, no mustard and a dry burger with a cold bun. The side salad was wilted lettuce with a few under ripe green baby tomatoes, a few cut up green beans and a small slice of avocado. Pretty sad for the price paid. My husband ordered the Bison burger medium and it seemed to have right toppings but cheese wasn't melted and only small amount of grilled onion and meat was well done, not medium. Wings were six pieces of wings (so 3 total wings), with watery ranch sauce and some carrot and celery sticks. Pretty disappointing for prices charged. Didn't realize missing items until I had driven back home but sent an email back and just got a response that manager would contact me! Still waiting. Not impressed! If this were entirely on service, then this review would be 5 stars! Our waiter Kenny was outstanding in spite of the challenges that the kitchen seemed to have. I had picked up my mother(almost 90, walking with a cane) and her friend, almost 80 but with early dementia, from Ontario and wanted a nice but not too expensive place to eat midway on the way home to Palm Springs. (Of course I consulted Yelp extensively ) I really wanted a local restaurant but In the areas I looked at for an American food restaurant /gastropub, the decor is industrial- large spaces, lots of concrete and metal, and loud. I love that style but Not really the best choice for 2 elderly ladies. I looked at Eureka and, in spite of their industrial design, they did have booths, and it was a small place compared to with what else I had looked at so I could keep track of my 2 ladies easily. Also, I have eaten at the La Quinta Eureka restaurant several times and love the food so I knew each of us would find something delicious. We sat in the corner inside at a booth and Kenny kept us feeling welcome with his demeanor and jokes. I liked that he was able to take care of our food, in spite of my mother asking for no tomatoes and there were small colorful cherry tomatoes in the salad under the steak. Fortunately her reaction to eating tomatoes affects her in her joints, not an anaphylactic reaction. The other issue was cinnamon and honey on the sweet potato fries when I specifically asked for it NOT to be added. But he got me the replacement fries asap so I was very happy about that. Overall, beyond those small issues, the food was fantastic! My husband had the bone marrow burger and asked for it very rare and he thought it was perfectly cooked. I had the Fig burger and subbed whisky sautéed onions instead of the red onion. Rare, perfectly cooked as well. So delicious I at every last bite! My mom had the steak salad and hers was perfect as well except for the tomato. She loved the dressing. Her friend had a cheeseburger and signature fries and was happy with it. The food was delicious and I'm not complaining about the food to me. Always excellent. My complaint is about the parking. It is horrible. We had a park across the street and it wasn't in the parking space. It was on the street. I was a little concerned because it's pretty dark since we went in the evening. Went to this location on her way home from Big Bear yesterday. I have to say that this location is right off the freeway and very convenient to get to. Our server was a Asya. She was very attentive and provided us with wonderful service. I got the Fresno fig burger. The quality of the meat is superb. I love how there's crunchy pieces of bacon in the burger. I also love goat cheese, it's my favorite that paired well with the arugula perfectly. The fries were fresh and hot, just how I like it. BF got the Napa chicken sandwich. My seared ahi salad was delicious with plentiful mixed greens, perfectly seared ahi and an amazing ginger dressing and peanut sauce. The eureka burger was cooked to order and the Napa chicken sandwich comes with a fantastic pesto aioli and a perfectly grilled chicken breast. The fries are crisp and well seasoned. They have a large selection of craft beer and a full bar. The place has a fun, funky vibe and bonus for having Dodgers home opener on more than one TV screen. So, I've heard a lot about this place and people rave about it. A group of us went out and coincidentally, we all ordered the same thing. To my dismay, I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich. I should've known, this isn't their forte. In fact, there's only 3 menu items if you want chicken. Also, I will never order a chicken sandwich from anywhere other than Popeye's. No one compares and it's the fraction of cost. Pickles come as part of the sandwich but tasted too vinegary for my taste in a sandwich such as this. The fries were not the greatest and they were a bit bland. Ranch dressing was just okay. Typically, if the ranch is delicious, I can skim over the dislikes. However, their ranch had a lot of dill, so it was overpowering the taste of the creamy dressing. Contactless dining was a great experience with no issues in the process. However, it felt strange to pay for the food all at once, but things have changed during this time. Social distancing was in place. Overall, it was a good experience. Bathrooms well stocked and very clean. Will I be back? Not my first choice. Nothing stood out that would get me back. Perhaps, if you needed a social outlet where you brought conversation and talked over beers, this may be a great place for that. However, I would suggest not to oder chicken sandwich. Brendan took care of our large party of 18 all by himself! We had some hiccups along the way, but it's about how the hiccups are handled that amaze us. The food was absolutely amazing! I was visiting from Texas and now hope to find a location in Texas! Might be good to open in Galveston near the ocean!
