Exercise serious caution here. My BMW went completely unresponsive on the road, so I asked AAA to tow it to a nearby mechanic, which was this place. Three immensely negative experiences followed. 1. Jonathan, the guy who accepted my car, flat-out forgot to collect my key. As a result, an entire day was wasted, and I needed to drive my rental car back to Euro-Tech the next day just to hand them my key. When questioned about this, Jonathan trotted out the excuses. First, he claimed the tow-truck driver told him the key was in the car. But why would the driver say that? At no point did the driver ever ask for or even see my key. Because the car was completely unresponsive, the key had been in my pocket the entire time. I pointed this out and Jonathan switched to his customer-blaming tactic. "Not my problem." "You should have given me the key." Hmm... Let's see. As a professional, who must have a key to do his work, who does this kind of work eight hours a day, and who's getting paid, you'd like to put more responsibility on customers than yourself? Also, even if the tow-truck driver for some reason had an inexplicable moment of confusion and said the key was in the car, why wouldn't you confirm this, as a professional? Rather than assuming and letting the customer drive off. This has, by the way, never once happened to me anywhere else. 2. When I called for an update, Jonathan told me the engine was likely dead. Odd. I asked what he meant. He said they were still checking, but the engine was likely non-repairable. The next day, he tells me no, actually it's just a starter and battery that need replacing. The engine isn't dead after all. All right, but why speak confusingly in the first place? If you don't know, why theorize randomly? This seems to be another example of, similar to the point above, the poor communications and tendency to assume at Euro-Tech. 3. Jonathan quoted me $1,791.63 for the starter and battery. If you Google this in context to BMWs, you'll see it's overpriced. I ended up towing my car away and getting the job done elsewhere for $1,162.56, a number much closer to what online searches and forums suggest. Euro-Tech charged me $210 for the diagnostic work they did. Had they not eroded my trust with everything that happened up to this point, I might have just paid the price - inflated or not - and not said anything. But because events had made me worry about incompetence and greed, I paid and then asked to speak with the manager. Doing so allowed me to understand why Jonathan's customer-service skills are so poor. Standards come from the top. Over a five-minute shouting match with the manager, it became clear that he has no sense of responsibility, logic, or developing a good reputation for his business. At first, he took the same customer-blaming route Jonathan did. I explained his duties as a professional to him. He changed tunes and questioned my online price comparison by bizarrely asking, "Does Google fix cars?" No, but I'm about to tell you of another shop in your area that does, and they charge $600 less than you. At that point he switches to, "Listen, junior, if you're going to tow your car to somebody else, you better do it now. If it's not out of here fast, I'm going to charge you a $150 storage fee." I later learned that Euro-Tech is already known among a few other professionals in the area as an unpleasant establishment they actively try to avoid. How much more true that should be from a customer perspective. UPDATE: 2/20/2018 Antonio, thanks for your response. Your nonsensical words and rude tone reinforce everything I wrote. In your response, I lost count of instances of: * unprofessional irresponsible behavior * cluelessness when it comes to customer service * acknowledgment of high prices * foolish assumptions based on absolutely nothing Yelpers, if you want all of the above, please consider Euro-Tech. After buying my dream 08 E93 M3 and having it break down 60 days in is something that broke my heart. Taking it to a shop that put the car in worse condition almost had me living in a nightmare. Jose walked me through the process each step of the way even through the holiday season and after picking the car up today, it runs even much better than when I bought it. My battery died the day before a big road trip and Thomas located a new one for me and had me back up and running in a couple hours. It was a huge help and a big relief. The guys at the shop were all very friendly and I've never seen such a clean auto shop - pristine. After running diagnostics, the owner Jose noticed my air intake hose was loose due to a broken clamp which the guys swapped out immediately. He told me all about my car's map and sensor system and why this loosely connected hose was probably causing some rumbling in the engine (which i had been noticing for probably over a year but did nothing) and that's cleared up too. My father recently started having braking issues with his 2006 BMW 325xi. I have had excellent experiences with Euro Tech in Culver City for my Audi so naturally I thought of this place for my father's BMW. My father initially took the car to an independent BMW service center up in NorCal where he lives and was told he needed to change the entire front and rear rotors and pads and also ABS sensors. They quoted him $2500 but could not tell him which sensor or sensors needed replacing. I thought that was ridiculous so I brought the car here. I'm so happy (and my father is too) because his car only needed both front and rear pads and a brake system flush/bleed. The guys at Euro Tech also diagnosed that it was NOT an ABS sensor(s) but it was the steering angle sensor. I had that changed as well and all is fine, the brakes work great! My engine light was on, and my car failed the smog test needed for my registration and I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to get everything taken care of before a trip out of the country. These people are dirty! Bad service. I did read the reviews and was very excited to take my car here. Took it for a steering noise & I had to take it to get it checked out. They did an inspection and was diagnosed with something unrelated to my initial issue. I work for a Trucking company in the Maintenance Dept. so if it's a Steering noise I know what location that is coming from. I was relieved it wasn't a steering an issue but what irked me was the other issue they found. I left & within minutes of my commute & of course running the engine the Engine Light came on. Keep in mind my car did not have or has ever had the engine light on. My car has less than 40,000 miles on it and I've never had any issues with it. I called to speak to the Maintenance Manager and the guy that answered the phone advised it was him. I figured oh wow that's cool that he has the time to answer the phone at the 2nd ring, but when I told him about my issue he asked if I was calling the right place, asked random questions, & when I told him I would be there the next morning he seemed annoyed. I took my car to another location to have them run it with a scanner and they found a sensor had been unplugged and not just any sensor that easily comes off or a random mistake. It was a sensor where you have to dig deep to be able to unplug it. Glad it only happened to me though as the reviews seem great for this place. Best of luck to you. read more

This review is a bit long overdue but I have never been so impressed with an auto repair shop. I brought my BMW here because while it was getting serviced at BMW of Santa Monica they told me that the "check engine light" had come on while they were doing repairs unrelated to the engine. A big skeptical, I refused to have BMW run a diagnostic on the "check engine light" and Brought it to Euro Tech Motors and told them about what had happened. Normally they charge $140 for the diagnostic but once they looked at the car they had discovered that there was a plug that the mechanic at BMW had unplugged which caused the light and there was nothing wrong with my car. Because of this, Euro tech did not charge me the fee. I have yet to come across a shop with this much honesty and integrity who really cares about their clients and the money they spend. Moving forward I will only bring my car to this shot. Thomas and the whole crew really are great to deal with and honest! Highly recommend. read more

These guys are as good as you get. I've been taking my 2014 VW GTI to the shop on Lincoln for a couple years now. I also took my 2007 Jetta TDI to the shop on Washington for three before that. I had some real difficulty finding a trustworthy mechanic in Los Angeles, before I found these guys. They mostly take in and work on high-end cars. But these guys will treat an older, less expensive car with just as much attention and care. While I live in Los Angeles, I will not think of going anywhere else. Both locations are excellent.
