I've been to several EWC in my time and this location is consistently sweet and accommodating. I've had excellent experiences with the wax specialists as well as the front desk. Tyler is always the sweetest whenever he calls me for reminders and when he checks me out of my service. Tiffany is also great, as she's patient and cares that my service goes well. Stacy is my GIRL. This is for the Evanston location. Every person I see ends up leaving. High turn over. Front desk staff is terrible. They mess up the wax passes. The app doesn't work well. The computer system at the store often doesn't work. Often can't book another appointment because they don't know who will be on the schedule. Hard corporate sell for the products, which I think are poor quality and would never use. Vibe and decor of the place is very 80's Mall that is in disrepair. Just overall schlocky. I'm going to use up my passes and then head on over to where my favorite waxer defected to. read more

This is my second time at this location and both my experiences have been off the charts. My first time was with Gina and she's the reason I came back! This time around I had the pleasure of meeting with Natalie. She was so great, I got my underarms and a Brazilian and she absolutely killed it. Truly, I barely felt a thing. I've been to other EW locations, and this one was a terrible experience. My services took an extremely long time to complete as my esthetician was a temp and didn't seem to be well trained. The quality of the job was also not up to par with other locations I've been to. I found that there were areas that were missed. I've been going to European Wax Center for years and this location has the worst customer service. Other locations have easy going people that are friendly and accommodating, but Evanston sticks way too hard to their absurd rules and have little flexibility that I'd rather drive to the Lincoln Square location than to walk to this one just a few minutes away from me. At least there, they aren't trained to be like robots. I've had poor service here more than once, and in the future will have to remind myself that the convenience of the location is not worth dealing with the stiff people. read more

This review is specifically about the Evanston, IL location. I went to this location two times. The first visit was fine. The aesthetician did a perfectly fine job but when I went to schedule my next appointment they said they couldn't schedule it because they didn't know who would be working in 5 weeks. WTH? They told me to call in a few days. I called a week later (multiple times) to only get an answering machine. I was calling during their business hours per what they have listed on their website. When I finally got through on a different day, I scheduled an appointment with the person I saw the first time only to arrive and be seen by someone who was not the person I saw the first time. I noticed that this location has reduced their hours and are no longer open on weekends. I don't know the reason for that but it seems to be poorly run and unorganized. read more

This was my first time getting a Brazilian wax, Stacy was super helpful and made the experience comfortable and talked me through every step! The actual wax was not as painful as I though it would be; the most painful part was the sting after the waxing strip is pulled but overall it was a 6/10 painful experience. I like the exclusive wax formula, I think that really made a difference in the pain felt. Aviana and Tyler were super helpful with their product knowledge and let me know about the deals they had for products and wax services. I got the wax pass and I saved money on the products I purchased and my first waxing service! The location was very clean, all staff wore masks, and had hand sanitizer available in different places throughout the store. Will be coming back! read more

Came to this EWC location during their grand opening. I had Jennifer as my wax specialist and she was friendly and efficient. The women here provide friendly and good service. When they showed me their products, I was unsure of what to purchase and Jennifer suggested me to try one of her favorite body wash. I got the Paradise strut body wash and it smells so good! I used to always come here to get my eyebrows done, and have even gotten the brow pass multiple times because of how happy I was with the results. However, I went in there today, and had my eyebrows absolutely butchered. I was left with very little hair, no arch, and absolutely no shape. So when I booked my return appointment it was supposed to be for 8:45a upon leaving it said 9:15a which is fine she selected the wrong time. Today 5/29/21 at 8am I received a text message that said reminder your appointment is at 9:15a once at the site at 9:00 I was told I missed my appointment at 8:45a and it was nothing she (Jillian) could do. After showing her the text message from today with the correct time I was suppose to have originally she still said very rudely that she couldn't help me. I asked for a management and was told it doesn't work like that we can't just call because you have a problem they have to send a request, after calling another location I was told evanston didn't even have a manager nor do they have a corporate phone number. At this point evanston needs to close since they have no management and only 2 people that wax and they are closed on weekends due to staffing problems (wax specialist quit). read more

I booked under my nick-name and when I gave him my full-name (with my maiden name), he looked at me like I was lying about my appointment. At the end of my service, he was still at the desk... He was just moping around. When it came time for me to check out, he wouldn't shut the fuck up about the "wax pass"!!! I felt so pressured and uncomfortable. From that experience with this man, I've come to the conclusion that I will never show up to wax here as long as he is there running the place.
