Long Euroquipe customer here. Asked for next checkup & oil change for my '18 Porsche Cayman GTS. I'd decided to sell it to a friend from Indy. Euroquipe said I needed a water pump. $2200 later (extra for credit cards, btw), I picked up the car. It seemed OK. Then friend comes from Indianapolis to buy it. On test drive, a coolant message comes on. We go to Euroquippe. They "burp" the system and pronounce it OK...It's going to Indy the next morning. Well, there was a vacuum leak because of hose damage when they changed the pump. It cost me $2600 to diagnose the issue and replace the tiny hose. They say they'll pay $200. I'm not happy but accept. Then, they don't pay. Claim they sent to wrong address...probably did. Trust is gone. Not the same place as before. read more

I have been taking my Z4 to Euroquipe since 2010 and have always been happy. But my last visit left me with a bad taste. I took my car in to have the seatbelt buckle replaced. I had to wait since I had no one to pick me up. 30 minutes after they pulled the car into the garage they came back and said it would take 3 1/2 hrs. I said I didn't have that much time and that I only had about an hour. They responded that they could complete it in that time. 40 minutes later the car was done and I paid the bill. Walking out to the car I noticed that the labor charges were $468 even though the sign in the office states " Labor $158/hr". I wet back in to inquire and was told that they charge what the "industry" quotes is the time it should take a job and that that made it more fair for quoting purposes. I replied that it's not only unfair but in my estimation unethical to be gouging on service. The young man said I should talk to Adam who could explain better. I said I understood perfectly, you're overcharging on labor! Adam was apparently too busy/dirty to speak to me but said he'd credit me 1/2 hour labor. I left but I will never return. I only discovered this practice because I waiting for my vehicle instead of dropping it off. I don't care what the industry standard says, I firmly believe you should only be charging for work done and not some fictitious number. Kent, you have really blown my trust. read more

I gave them verbal approval to order 2 parts. One was at local dealer and second on back-order from BMW. The next day I called and said to cancel orders because I was getting parts elsewhere. He said there's a 30% ($360) restocking fee. I said I'll return the first part to the local dealer myself and if there is a fee I'll get them to waive it (I'm sure there wouldn't be). He then said they don't need to charge the local one, but the other part was ordered from BMW directly and they will charge the fee of $180 even though the part didn't ship and was on back-order. I just paid the bill to get my car and went directly to the BMW dealership. The service manager showed several orders pending for the same part with no eta on when it will be available. He said you are able to cancel all of the backorders at no cost as standard practice. This place lives up to the expectation of a shady auto shop... read more

This shop specializes in BMW, BENZ, PORSCHE and even FERRARI repair and maintenance services. I brought my BMW in for some fluid changes and everything went well. Their prices are very reasonable and will remove that stigma of affordability of European car ownership past warranty expiration. I even had them do a slight modification [nonstandard mod for manual transmission drive-ability] and they took care of it. Their techs are knowledgeable and get the job done. The unfortunate thing is that they are WAY FAR AWAY from everything else in Chicago land. I wish they were closer to Chicago, it would make taking my car to them a breeze. I am very picky about where I'd take my car for servicing, but my onetime experience with them left a good impression. They were very polite in person and straightforward. I will say though: Trying to initially contact them over the phone was a pain. I left a couple messages and never got a call back... which is surprising since you'd think they'd try to follow up on any lead for business. Within a week though i got a hold of them and brought my car in for the services mentioned above. So if you get stonewalled, keep trying.. they must be a little short staffed for phone/secretary duty. One recommendation: Add saturday hours. It's difficult to bring a car there after/before work without taking time off. As with all independent shops, you won't get a loaner like you would at the dealer... so you'll need someone to follow you and bring you back [which is a big deal when they are very far out from other suburbs]. read more

Love these guys! We have a BMW 740iL, circa 1994, and I've been bringing it here pretty much since they opened their shop. Back then it was just Brad and Tim, and they mostly did BMW and Mercedes... since then - in a lousy economy - they've added staff, doubled their space and service capabilities - and added more great European performance brands. Wouldn't take my 740 anywhere else! One time we were having transmission problems. and they rebuilt it for only $800! It's still going strong 5 years later! What can I say? Not the cheapest place to have your car worked on. If you have a beater that needs an cheap-o oil change or some band-aiding, go to a muffler shop. If you want to keep your prized European daily driver or track car or weekend fun machine in tip-top shape, these are your guys. I bought my '06 Cayman S in '09...with a very limited 60 day warranty. It's going stronger than new thanks to these guys installing mods the right way, finding things I'd done myself incorrectly, helping me with suspension settings and such and performing routine maintenance. I first started my relationship with Euroquipe over a year ago when I was in the market for a used Ferrari. I had them do a PPI on a Ferrari in the Chicagoland area. They called me first thing in the morning of the PPI tosay that the mechanic (Kurt) had some concerns about a body repair that was done. I spoke to Kurt and he said that some welds did not look right and that they had concerns about doing the PPI. They offered to not charge me. I did not think that was entirely fair and I wound up paying them about a quarter of their stated fee. Needless to say that type of behavior goes a long way to say what type of shop they are. I subsequently purchased a Ferrari that was due for its 5 year tune up. They were very good. Kurt sent me a photo blog of the repair which I truly appreciated. I received back a fully detailed and maintained car. This past spring I brought my Ferrari in for its annual service. Again they truly shined. They discovered a small full leak related to the fuel sending units. These units were not cheap and they just could of replaced the entire units at a significant expense to me. Instead they searched various suppliers and were able to repair my existing units by finding the parts to fix the units instead of replace the entire thing. This involved several rubber bushings that are no longer stocked by Ferrari. I really appreciated them looking out for me. Both of these requests involved some minor favors done for me like holding my car until I was back in town or meeting a shipper when I wanted to ship my car. These guys are small business run by car guys for car guys. Brad and Tim are always willing to chat if I have questions and will often offer to have Kurt give me some advice over the phone. read more

I have been bringing my 2001 BMW 3-series to Euroquipe ever since my factory warranty expired in 2004 or 2005. They have taken excellent care of me and my car and they are the reason she has lasted 15 years and nearly 235,000 miles. I recently traded it in on a 5-series, and the team at Euroquipe will be the only ones to work on it. TIm and the team would have gotten that '01 to 300k+ if I had not given in to the temptation of new gadgets and features! I have heard people say Euroquipe is a bit more expensive than other shops. I am not independently wealthy and every dollar matters to me, but I have never felt the need to compare the pricing at Euroquipe to anywhere else- "why" you ask? One word: TRUST. I trust the guys at Euroquipe completely and without question. If something is beginning to wear, they don't upsell...they monitor it, and they let me know when it is indeed time to replace or repair the issue. I have never felt like I was being upsold and I have never thought that I was cheated or overpaying for anything. I cannot imagine there is a more trustworthy and honest group of guys to work on my car than the guys at Euroquipe, and if that isn't worth a few extra dollars, I don't know what is. They got my 2001 to 235,000 miles. They work on my wife's VW. They will work on my 5-series. I Brought my Porsche there on numerious occassions only to pay extremely over priced labor and all other ad ons. i would of had a better, well, maybe not but I would be paying the same labor and rates at the dealership. They also stole the mettle screws on my wheels and put on the plastic ones for my tires...pretty lame. I think they stink!!! And are a total rip off.
