I ordered the sparkling wine sangria, and my mom got some Prosecco. David, was our server and he was amazing. 10/10 I definitely recommend sitting and eating here. Our view was lovely. We got to see the little river and we are seated by the fountain so the noise was very nice and calming if you were ever in the Calistoga area I highly recommend eating here.

Unfortunately, the experience was soured at the end when an "Employee Wellness Fee" was added to the bill without any clear explanation or notice that I was aware of beforehand. I have no issue supporting restaurant employees, but adding an additional fee to a customer's bill without making it very clear up front feels unnecessary and frustrating. When I questioned the charge, it was removed, which I appreciated, but by that point it had already negatively affected what had otherwise been a great evening. Restaurants should be transparent about all mandatory or discretionary charges before customers order. A surprise fee at the end of the meal is simply not the way to finish an otherwise excellent dining experience. I hope Brasswood reconsiders how this fee is communicated, because the restaurant itself was enjoyable and this issue was completely avoidable.

The duck was tender and delicious. The pork ribs were pretty good, but there wasn't a lot of meat on each bone. Regarding service, it was very nice of the staff to accommodate my mom's request of bringing out the box of smoke for the drink again. She was disappointed she couldn't get a video, and they ended up bringing another one of the same drink in the box, so she could film the delivery the second time. I want to tell you about the good experience we had at Evangeline. We decided to go to Evangeline on Thanksgiving because driving to Napa is beautiful during this time and we enjoyed colorful trees and vineyards. Also the price was so reasonable for all those food. We bought tickets for the first seating and arrived there at 2:30. First, we were welcomed with a drink and a salmon tartlet. I chose Butternut Squash Soup as a starter, my favorite soup, and Turkey as the main dish. It came with lots of sides, like mac and cheese, beat salad, sausage stuffing, gravy, sauteed green beans, cranberry sauce, and fried Brussels sprouts which was soooo good. I usually don't like it, but this was so crispy and delicious. We finished our meal with pumpkin pie and pecan pie as a dessert. That was very delicious. The portion of food was very large and I could say all the delicious food, the cozy ambiance and of course, the pie and tea made my day fantastic. As you walk up to the restaurant it's a nice chic place with a touch of European image. The seating I requested was outside which most of the people recommend since its naturally romantic. The menu is folded and tucked under your glass and filled with mouth watering items. The first thing that caught my eye was the apps. "Eye of round beef tartare" with a 5 minute egg & topped with caviar and complemented with slices of toasted french baguettes which was a perfect and savory. My main entree was the special of the day the lamb confit with a pea puree and sauteed carrots, complements to the chef what an amazing dish. The texture of crispness also savory saltiness on the outside and the savory tenderness on the inside was all on point. I will defiantly be back for more delightful dishes and great cocktails. Started with the Smoked Salmon with Rosti Potato and Crème Fraiche paired perfectly with server Josh's recommendation, a 2012 Domaine de la Quilla Muscadet. Smoked Salmon was perfect, the saltiness of both the salmon and potato rosti perfectly balanced with the sourness of the crème fraiche. Great way to start my dinner. I decided on the Steak Frites for my main course, general manager stopped by my table and offered me a red wine that will go good with my steak before it arrived. I loved it! A 2009 Rosso Toscana, Fortulla. Went perfect with my perfectly cooked steak. The frites were very flavorful and crispy. Great food, great service, and a great experience. Couldn't be happier! We had an excellent meal here. We were greeted with a smile and answers to all of our questions. We were seated and impressed with the service right from the start. We started with Duck Rillettes which were delicious. The salmon was cooked just as requested and paired very nicely with the greens. The gumbo was delicious - not thick like some gumbos and also not heavy like some gumbos. A really nice combination of flavors and just the right amount of heat. Loved the bread along with the whipped butter and rock salt on top. For dessert, we shared the waffle, nutella and whipped cream which was delicious -- took me back to being a kid. The patio is lovely and the restaurant has a nice, friendly yet professional vibe. We had a disappointing experience at this establishment. Our salad arrived with rotten lettuce, and we had to send it back. Although they replaced the salad, no one apologized for the mistake, which added to our frustration. To make matters worse, the fried chicken we ordered had a strong, unpleasant smell, indicating that it was made with spoiled chicken. Logistics Breakdown & Health Risk: Upon arrival, the main guest elevator to the upper-level restaurant was entirely broken--with zero warning signs or staff at the lower level to inform arriving guests. Despite assurances that buggy/transfer shuttles would be provided from the lower parking area, no shuttle ever came. Left with no information, we were forced to make the steep trek up multiple flights of outdoor stairs in scorching heat. Climbing that gradient in extreme heat causes dangerous blood pressure spikes and severe physical strain. Making matters far worse, I was accompanied by my disabled son. Forcing guests with mobility challenges into this situation is a total failure of basic safety and accessibility. 2. Gross Misconduct by Managers Sarah Escobar & Alonso Munis: When we finally reached the top, exhausted and overheated, we were met by restaurant managers Sarah Escobar and Alonso Munis. Instead of offering basic human care, water, or concern for our well-being, both Sarah and Alonso met us with condescending, foolish smirks. They acted as though our complaint was ridiculous and trivialized the physical strain of climbing those stairs in the heat. When we stated the guest elevator was down, they dismissively claimed, "The elevator works!" and pointed to a background service/employee lift. Only after we pushed back did they actually check the main guest elevator--at which point they were forced to admit that it was indeed completely out of order. To encounter broken infrastructure at a supposedly 5-star resort is disappointing; to be mocked and treated with sheer apathy by managers like Sarah Escobar and Alonso Munis when traveling with a disabled family member is unforgivable. If you value safety, accessibility, and genuine hospitality, spend your money elsewhere in Calistoga.

After arriving in Calistoga on a Friday evening, my wife and I thought that it would be appropriate to have dinner and drinks at Robert's. Upon walking through the entrance of the restaurant, we observed a nice backyard-style layout with televisions tuned to the NBA playoffs, patrons enjoying glasses of wine, and a DJ playing smooth yacht rock tunes. A friendly employee informed us that it was open seating, so we sat ourselves along the padded seating in close proximity to the DJ. Shortly afterwards, a server came by to take our orders. My wife ordered the short rib, garlic fries, and the Sip It Slowly cocktail; I ordered the Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Dumplings (suggested by the server), and the Jerk Old Fashioned. While we awaited our orders, the server brought us a delicious miniature size soup - which was absolutely delicious and definitely a tease! Shortly after, our drinks arrived. I found my drink to be delicious, strong, and was intrigued by the flavor that the little piece of submerged jerky provided. However, I will admit that I was a bit jealous when I snuck a couple sips of my wife's delicious cocktail. Up until the arrival of our meals, I was impressed. My wife found the short ribs to be just ok; additionally, her fries were lukewarm upon arrival and dry (as if they were overcooked). I have had Jamaican jerk chicken in Jamaica, so my expectations were very high. Unfortunately, the chicken was not flavorful and did not have the "kick (spice)" that I anticipated. Surprisingly, the highlight here was the dumplings (delicious!) and the Hint of Passion cocktail that I ordered (if I had a signature drink- this would be it!). I really should have listened to my intuition when we initially observed that a majority of the other patrons were just indulging in drinks, no food. When our server brought us the bill totaling roughly $160, I couldn't help but feel like the food was not in alignment with the price point.
